ASP With Access Database (Input Text - Value Display)
I'm using Access Database with ASP. There is one particular thing that I
have issue with.

My purpose is for user to update their own profile. Their existing profile
information will be display in Edit Form format. The problem is if the field
has space, the second word will not display, when I display in input text
format.

E.g if My first name "User_FirstName" in my table has entry, let say "David
Johnson" as FirstName, when I execute following code and do a input text, it
will display "David" only. Code:

How Can I Change One Line Input Field Into Larger Input Field
I have being working with making an edit field over the past few days. The edit function is now working fine. The edit fields that i have are for id, subject, notes, timedate.

All of the edit screens are one line text screens. What I want to do now is increase the size of the notes box to a larger textarea type box to make it easier to edit notes. The notes field in the db is a textarea field. Code:

How do i break the data up in such a way that i can populate it into my

Input Tag In MAC
I have a problem with :

when its run in a MAC machine, it reload de whole page, instaed call UpdateCentralRep.
It works ok in PC!!!

i create a dynamic table to modify user/account for administrative management.
I have modify & delete function to be performed.

The idea is that when the admin click the Delete link, he can delete a particular account/user. is it possible to pass variable of buff value to recID??

because when i see the result of request.querystring("recID"), i does not pass the mumerical value sound pretty simple but i can't get it. Code:

when I use:

the following code works

myform.Test.disabled = true

When I change the input box to type image none of the properties are available. I get the message "object doesn't support this property or method"

Can anyone tell me how to fix this.

Using An Input To Call A Sub R.
I have a bummer here. I have 3 sub R. that I need to call from a input button. I set up the following line, but the script just calls them with out having the button pressed. OOOO! Any ideas?

Is there any way to clean the user input before saving to the database.I tried to use..

INPUT Tags
I have found that places double quotes ' "text" ' around text inside (INPUT) tags results in everything after the initial quote, '"' gets truncated.
I'm passing the form information to another form to allow the user to look over and validate what they're submitting, then they will click the submit
button to send it all along.
I'm finding that in the validation form, the quoted text inside the (INPUT) tag gets truncated. However, the quoted text inside a TEXTAREA tag does not.

i let the user go and submit his phone number in a particular page. on the other side on access i adjusted my input mask of that particular field to the following set (999) 000-0000;0;-

when i open the database i see the phone numbers are stored in the fine format which i wanted, however when i try to retrieve the data using the browser, i just gets me the phone number like 29384838283 without any brackets or spaces.

Form Input
How can I create a query based on the form input. I want to have a pulldown menu (list of states). The user can select the state, lets say VA and click on "go" button. I want the page to return results that has state=VA. So how do I create that statement and send to aspx ?

Disable An Input Box
I'm using an input box in a form

Is there a way to put this button in a disabled state, where it can't be clicked? I've tried adding an "enabled" property, but that doesn't work. I've even tried "visibility" property, but the input box doesn't seem to support that either.

i was wondering if i could enable/disable input according to the user, e.g.
enable input2 if input1 is enable, else it's disabled. Also, if input1 is
deleted then input2 is disabled.

How do I make a form's text box focused on page load? I have a page that loads one text box for a user to enter their zipcode and then press search. How do I get the cursor to be in the box when the page loads. I do not have access to the Code:

I have a form on which I have a INPUT Type='Reset'. On clicking this button all the fields on the form should reset except a few. Is it possible to do this by setting some property of the control or do I have to specifically write code form that?

Scanner As An Input Device
I have a list with product names (the list will grow),each of those products could be read as a barcode as well,so I was asked to change my web site so that users are able to scan that barcode, that would be easy if I didn't have to look after users who have a scanner and once that don't,

so the idea was if they have a scanner they scan in into a input box(not sure if combo box can be used) and according to the product code scanned that automatically populates the combo box list with the relevant product name, if they don't have a scanner then they just manually select the product name from the list.

Getting User Input Via Email
Does anyone know if its possible to create and email HTML
forms. Email recipients would then input information to
these forms in the same way that they would on a web
page. Pressing the submit button would mail the form
back, after which it would be separately submitted to an
ASP page on the web server for processing.

The main reason for this is so we don't have all the
issues associated with firewalls and security to deal
with. Our corporate mail servers will strip out viruses
so that not a problem.

I've got a situation now where I have a function which returns just a single value. I call this function using "SELECT myFunction(parameters)". I can't use a result set to retrieve the function return value, can I? How should I do it?

I have a Madden 2005 league and want to be able to have people enter stats via the webpage into the database which will keep track of them! I think it is doable, just I have no clue where to start.

Path From Input Type
I am using freeaspupload to upload an image file. However, i need to grab the path that is in the text box after the client browses to the file. It looks like windows security will only give me the file name. How do i get that entire path?

My experience so far is limited to VBA in Windows based apps like Access, Excel etc.
Is ASP event driven like Visual Basic?

If so, can ASP cause the server time to be input into a field on a double click event?

Retaining User Input...
I have a form that I am trying to append to include a CAPTCHA validation field.

I have added the CAPTCHA code to the end of the form itself and now I am struggling to make the processor do a couple of things:

***If the CAPTCHA validates as well as all the form input data>>confirmation page and send appropriate email.

***If the form is filled out, but the CAPTCHA authentication is wrong>>go back to the same page, keep the form filled out, and give one more chance to correctly enter the CAPTCHA field.

***If the form is being spammed.......fail and die gracefully.

Input Field Names
I have built input fields inside a while not.eof loop
and the name is built from using <%="name"&i%> and the value is a product_id
from the database.the i is then incremented in the loop, resulting in <input name="name1, <input name="name2
and so on. this works no probs, however i haven't got a clue on how to collect this dynaimcally named
input field when it arrives at the form action address page.
I was thinking some kind of for loop but am not sure, and again am not sure where to put the <%="name"&i%> bit
to count or grab the input fields info.

i.e newname= REquest.Form(<%="name"&i%>)

i need to track the source of a page which user browses ex: aboutus.html, contactus.html in which there is a link to enquiry.php where a user fills out a form. so i need to track which page the user originally came from(aboutus.html or contactus.html)

presently i am using enquiry.php to track the previous page with the following code

Parsing Input Text
What I need to do is parse a string, then create variables for each word. Example:

- someone enters "cats and dogs" in the text field

- I need to end up with:
firstWord = "cats"
secondWord ="and"
thirdWord ="dogs"

Then I will use the variables firstWord, secondWord, thirdWord later in my app.

How To Get Number Of Input Elements?
Does anyone know how to get the number of input tags contained in a div tag? I am trying to build a dynamic list of checkboxes from a database and I don't know how many checkboxes i have until the form is built to do some validation.

Probably using client-side javascript - something like

var obj = document.all.tags("div").item(0)
var mydiv = obj.id.indexOf("chk0100")

But I am not sure how to specify the name of the input tag.
I dont know what the above statement does.

Input Type File
Very LAST part of the project:

I want users to pick a file from a pool (=folder) in which they should be 'locked'. I tried using this method:

Once clicked the browse button, it takes the user to a client folder. I want to take the user to the pool on the server which has the uploaded images. Is this possible?
