Now i got problem in my ASP page using VBScript that is implemented for IP Phone Service.I am trying to do directory service in IP Phone.So user key in the first name or last name.
According to user input, it will go n look for the name in MySQL database.If the name is not found,it will return the error.My VBscript programming is bad.I cant check it out how i check the return for Record set from database. Code:

Database Connection String To MySQL-database On A Different Server
I work with ASP for several weeks now and i really like it! But until now i have just used it in connection with my localhost. I made connections to a SQL Database and to an ACESS Database with using the ODBC Tool from WIndows!! Now i want to publish my website but i don't know how to handle the connection string kind of thing. Problem With Null Database Return
I am running an sql statement to retrieve the values entered for a particular month. If nothing was entered by a particular user for a particular month, it will return null. However, I need a null return to be set to 0. The variable "returnValue" holds the (you guessed it) returned value. I have an sql statement like this executed with asp and mysql. select * from table1, table2, table3 How can I read a specific field from a table when tables have same fieldnames. So for example table1 and table2 have both a field named content. What I would like to do is: contenttable1 = recordset("table1.content") contenttable2 = recordset("table2.content") But then I get an error like item not found in recordset. If i do this it works but i don't know which field I read from: contenttable? = recordset("content") I know that it works with Access but I can't get it working with MySQL.

Call Php/mysql Database From ASP
First I'll answer "why". Because, while SQL Server is available, it is also "expensive". MySQL is CHEAP and a lot more robust than Access. Is there a way to add, update, retrieve, and delete data from a MySQL DB via php (or ASP for that matter) back into ASP? Could someone create a basic script to look at so I could see how? I hope there is a way to do this. Wouldn't it be advantageous for MS to do this or to make it easy to do so to be more competitive?

Connect To MySQL Database
I'm a PHP developer and i've been asked to do some development for a site which is on a web server which only supports ASP. I had planned to have a bash at writing an ASP program (first time) on this server which will interact with a MySQL database on another web server (my company's web space). Grabbing From MySQL Database In ASP
I'm doing a website in PHP/MySQL but its an IIS server - THUS no sendmail. I've used CDONTS to send email in ASP before but this time its a little different I have a MySQL table called 'emails' in a database called 'db'. The table has Key IDs from 1 to about 50 that correspond with different email addresses. I want to use CDONTS to Grab the email addresses from the MySQL database one by one and in 15 second intervals send out the same email to each address. I know this sounds a bit 'spammy', but it's a band website with a mailing list. Only about 50 or so entries. I'm trying to set up a mailing list manager and the only missing piece is this damn emailing script.

Restore MySQL Database
I am moving my site from one host to another. I got all the scripts moved over but now I need to import my MySQL database. My previous host has a tool to create a .sql database dump. However, my current host limits the size a database dump can be for using phpMySQL to import the database. ADO Streams And Binary Data Held In A MySQL Database Blob Field
Has anyone else found a memory leak using ADO streams to access binary data held in a database. I have searched through this forum and have not come across anyone else, so maybe it is just me. The scenario is as follows: Windows 2000 SP3 MDAC 2.7 SP1 IIS5 MySQL 3.23 MyODBC 2.50 If I query the database and do a response.binarywrite everything works fine and no memory leak. eg. response.binarywrite myrecordset("blobfield") If I read the very same BLOB field into a ADOstream I then get a memory leak in DLLHOST.EXE of how big that binary field was. ie If the picture is 140k in size DLLHOST.EXE increases its memory size by 140k. This keeps on happening until DLLHOST.EXE is something like 250 MBytes in size at which point it stops working. Quick restart of the IIS Web service and I get all my memory back. The command I am using to get the data into the ADOstream is picturestream.write myrecordset("blobfield") I have also tried putting the binary data into a variable first before inserting it into the stream: set x=myrecordset("blobfield") picturestream.write x The stream is closed and set to nothing at the end of processing. Everything is cleanly shut down. Through testing I know the memory leak occurs once the data has been written into the stream. The stream is correctly created as type binary. The stream problem I am encountering does not seem to be limited to ASP, I tried it using Visual Basic to create a COM component to do the same job and still got a memory leak. So the questions are: 1. Has anyone come across this before or fixed it? 2. Is there another way of getting binary data out of MySQL, something like the opposite of LoadFile? I have wasted so much time on this problem but cannot find, having searched Microsoft's knowledge base and the rest of the web, any reference to the problem.

I updated to aspx last three month,after developing serveral applications,Idecided to downgraded to asp, following is my reasons: 1.in ASPX,the page format is hard to control,in ASP u can change every html as u like ,but in aspx, a aspx control decide the page format,and its hard to change the format. 2.ASPX is said to be faster that asp, but it is based on too-often communication back to the server,for example,u click a radio a button,there is new page request, but in reality,such a communication is bandwidth-consuming and time-consuming. the user only need to submit the form, and the exchange between IE and Server was minimazed. the Speed of ASPX is not useful for most sites, for bigger sites, the speed increase is singnificant,but for small sites with less traffic, the speed of ASP is quite enough. 3.ASPX is based on Object Orinted Programming, but in most small sites, Procedure orinted programming is used, we never build objects, and POP is more efficient.ASPX is for three-tiered structure with a single layer of business logic component, but in reality, most of us used two-tier structure,that is Presetation layer and Datalayer, we can layout the page and change the database in a single page, quite effienct too.

404 Return
I want to return a 404 response from an ASP script (IIS 5). Response.Status lets me set the response string, but if I don't include any HTML text myself, the result is an empty page. Is there a way to 'redirect' it to the server's default 404 response, as if the URI really doesn't exist, but without really redirecting it so the URL isn't replaced in the browser's address bar?

I am trying to replace a huge chunck of code that currently I incorporate with an #Include directive. The program rarely has to flow through that code, so I thought it would be better if I used Server.Execute. I found I can pass data TO the called asp file by creating an HTML <input> and erading it after I get there. However, I also need to read back ONE variable that the called file must set. I cannot figuer out how to do that. My backup positions are (1) I can keep on using the #Include technique, and (2) I can use a database to bridge the gap.Isn't there a way to carry data BACK TO the calling asp file FROM THE CALLED asp file?

I know there's a way to do this - well 99% sure anyway - and seem to remember reading an article or tutorial about how to do it but I'm not having any luck finding it. What I need to do (using MySQL & ASP3) is to find all rows with "X" as a non-unique ID - there may be 30 or so total - and grab them to be archived in a CSV file before deleting the record from a DB.The reason I want to avoid hardcoding the field names is that they're going to change with moderate frequency.

in my SQL select query I have a LEFT JOIN between 2 tables that returns a value if the data from table 1 is present in table 2, below dbo.booking_form.COLL_CONTACT_TEL = dbo.tblFlag.TelNoMo OR dbo.booking_form.MOBILE_NO = dbo.tblFlag.TelNoMo Problem is that if the COLL_CONTACT_TEL and MOBILE_NO are both present in table 2 it returns the record twice in the asp page repeat region.
