i know that if i set the "Show friendly HTTP error messages" then javascript is not working... if i reset it javascript is working. so could anybody tell me how can i set this "Show friendly HTTP error messages" .

When one of my users are navigating my ASP website, and click on submit type button to move from Page1.asp to another ASP page, Page2.asp, they are getting message like "Internet explorer cannot download <asp pagefrom <server>. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." But other users are not experiencing this. Internet Explorer D-load Objects
I am looking for a way to use the IE objects in VB/ASP to download files when prompted from webpages. Specifically just one page. It's an aspx page that generates a csv file for d-load. As soon as I go to the page it immediately prompts me to save, save as, or cancel. Ultimately, I will build this as a DTS package in MSSQL Svr to grab the file and save it as a .txt file and not a .csv file, so I would need to utilize the save as function of that pop-up box.

English Dates In Internet Explorer
I am writing an ASP application for Internet Explorer in the UK. I have found that some of the computers on our intranet at work display dates in Internet Explorer in English format, and some in American. However, when I look in Control Panel at the regional date settings, they are all set to English date. But IE still shows the date as American. What is more mystifiying is that the dates in my Access database are saved correctly in the English format. It is as if Access can interpret the dates correctly when saving and retrieving, but IE and ASP cannot when performing calculations or displaying on the screen. There surely must be a way of telling IE to follow the computer regional settings when it stores dates in memory?

Printing Using Internet Explorer Vers. 5.5 To 6
We have a database search page written in ASP. One of the information pages does not print properly because the windows background printing reloads the page, but does not wait long enough to capture all the information. So, the result is, the top title part appear, but the data does not print on the first page. But all the following pages print correctly. So how do I : 1) change the printing...? 2) slow done or make the printing wait until the page is complete ? 3) speed up the data search ? It is a ODBC connection to Foxpro database.

I have recently reloaded windows on my system and of course now have a fresh install of IIS running on localhost port 85 Now, I'v previously (2 days ago) been working on an ASP page which retrieves its data from an XML file. Previously I just started work on the xml stuff without having to midify anything; but this time I tried to load the page and I got the "HTTP 500 - Internal server error". Do I have to download an XML parser or is there something wrong with IIS ?

Just wondering if you could possibly check this site for me - www.gtfasteners.co.uk . I am getting a 500 Internal Server Error message every time I try to log in, however I have set all file permissions related to the login as read,write and execute. Username = user Password = fasteners2003 I don't know all that much about ASP yet as I am learning, but I have managed to get the site working fine on my localhost using IIS. Can anyone suggest the reason why I could be getting this HTTP 500 - Internal server error Internet Explorer Rather than the script error reported on the internet explorer browser. This is an ASP application running on Windows Server 2003. I've set up a custom error page using a URL of either /Error.asp or /RetrievalSite2.0/Error.asp in the root of the web app as type URL however this doesn't appear. Does anyone know the best way of diagnosing this issue. I just installed IIS 5.1 and Visual Studio 2003 with .NET 1.1. I'm having a problem starting an ASP.NET project. Everytime I select an template from the IDE I get the above message. I set up a default.htm page and the IIS server appears to be working. It just won't let me start a new VS project. Does anybody have a clue why this is happening? BTW, the error also occurs on another computer on the LAN. Could this be a conflict of some kind on the network?

Strange Error "Internal Server Error"
i am using a ASP application with following things Server : Intel Xeon (TM) CPU 2GHz, 2GB RAM, 136GB HDD OS : Windows 2000 Advanced server. IIS5.0 Database: Oracle (Using ADODB to connect to the Database) App server running on the same machine (COM+) after using the application for 2/3 hours i get an error message "Internal Server Error" once i restart the server it works absolutely fine for some hours. External Server Pull Files From Internal Server
I have an application that needs to pull files from an internal server. This is the setup. The web server is external facing, meaning exposed to the internet. I then have a file server that sits inside our domain. I created a COM object that can impersonate a user to retrieve files from that server. However, I cannot get the application to pull files from the internal server. I first tried a domain account that could reach both servers. This did not work. I then had the network team create the same account on both machines. This is not working either. I have a data base feeding a course catalog thta works just fine off my Win2k webserver but I upgraded my server to 03 and now I can't get the asp page to load. When I use IIS 6.0 to display static content everything works according to plans. Now I have created an asp page even though there is no dynamic content at the moment. The web page's name just ends in "asp" and has the Code: <%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> at the first line of the code. When I try to link to this asp-page I get an error code saying "Http 500 Internal Server Error". I then disabled the "friendly http errors" and got this information. "Asp error Asp 0203" "Invalid code page" "The specified code page attribute is invalid" I should also add that I have enabled/allowed asp as extension in IIS manager. This New Company I'm with Sets their Default WebSite to a local Directory on "D" Yea I've been down the whole route reinstalling XP Pro,,, IIS 5.1 The .NET framework everything. Now I'm just frustrated. What the Heck !! Theres a web project (C# ASP.net) in the solution containing many many some odd 19 or so projects. MSVSS is additionally in the picture to make things a little more complex. When trying to connect to the internet I get a message "Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close"--it never actually connects. Prior to this problem I had a bunch of spyware despite having Ad-awareSE, pest patrol, norton anti-virus. I deleted some programs from "add/remove programs" and may have inadvertently deleted explorer. The desktop icon is gone, I don't find it in "add/remove programs" and i don't find it in windows find/search. I tried system restore and that didn't work either. Should I use my restore disk? Or what?
