Flash Intros
I need advice on a good flash intro program. I'm running out of time getting my website up and running, so I want a program that will just let me build a flash intro.

However...and this is a big one...I don't want one where you have to use their templates. All kinds of programs out there, but I'm locked into using their templates and I just want a simple pic or two with text and that's all.

Can you guys send me in the right direction!!!

Flash Intros
I'm going to be doing some Flash intros (hopefully a lot of them and for a long time), that need to be very "cinematic", I guess would be the word to describe them. Kind of like when you go to a movie website, and the Flash intro works as almost like a trailer for the movie. I don't need help on the Flash end, but I'd like to prepare myself as far as how to effectively present these in a compelling way that generates interest. I took a film class, but that was a long time ago, and I need some sort of refresher and to learn some new tricks of the trade. Can anyone recommend any books or classes (short-term, like a week or so and not a full semester at somewhere like Full Sail)?

Best Flash Intros Ever...
I'm currently involved in a Macromdia Director group project and one of my duties is the introduction..which puts a lot of pressure on me..since a good intro will catch everyones attention I'm an intermediate flash user..maybe even novice..so I have about 7 weeks to whip something out...Can you please list some excellent flash intros that you've seen and maybe even some tutorials that can help me in achieving similar effects. Fps For Most Flash Sites And/or Intros
What is the average fps, or fps you use, when creating Intros and/or web sites?

I am just curious because I want my site and intros to look as smooth as possible but if I use more fps, the file size will go up if I want to make it longer.

how do i create cool and eye catching intros? For an example of the intros i am trying to create you can goto http://www.2advanced.com and view her opening intro. i kinda what to be able to do intros like that. Do they do it strictly by writing their own code and graphics or do they use software? Or is it that they use both? If they use software can you please tell me of some good ones please. I want my websites to look professional and unique.

Oh yeah, and i know all the basis of flash. I have taken a semester of flash at school so I am not a beginner but i am not an expert either. please respond!

Rotating Flash Intros?
Is there a way to display a different flash intro each time a user views my page.

For example, user1 comes and sees flasha, then comes back again later on during the day and then see flashb

I know this can be done with images, but wasn't sure if it could be done with flash. Any help is greatly appreciated, also I did try the search a few times, but recieved a error.

Flash Intros - Do You Advise Against?
I have a client that wants a Flash intro, but the sites budget doesn't allow it.

I spent a great deal of time educating them on the statistics of flash intros and how often they are skipped. Certainly my goal was to educate them on why it wasn't always the best decision.

Now the budget has increased to allow an intro, but I wanted to push the issue that it may not justify the budget; that the increased capital could be better spent on some of the other features of the site.

Unfortunately, I may have pushed it a bit too far because it must seem like I'm trying to convince them otherwise.

Sigh..its a performance related site so maybe flash is a good idea afterall? I certainly don't want to throw more stats at them, that's for sure.

My intention was purely to educate them on the best way to spend their money, and it sure didn't come across well.

Have any of you had this dilemma?

Free Flash Intros
I was wanting to put a flash intro on my site, Intimate Expressions Lingerie I had gotten some reveiws and some people had said it just looks like an online catalog and I was wanting to make it more appealing.

Do you think the flash intro would do it. I am just starting out so I know I could never do one by myself thats why I wanted to find a free resource of them.

Also where can I learn how to make doorway pages. I think that would work to.

Making Flash Intros
I have a client that wants to build a custom flash intro. This is new for my company we have always just use a Monster Flash Intro in the past. My flash designer is overseas and just told me to get as much information as possibly.

So I wanted to ask if anyone has created a document I can give to my client to organize his thought and structure of what he wants this intro to do so I can have a smooth process with my client and my flash programmer.

Flash Intros And Strobe Effect
Hello.

I am trying to create a short flash intro that alternates between some images and some text. I have seen in alot of flash intro images will be shown with a kind of screen flash or almost strobe type effect. I thought this was created by simply inserting a white rectangle that covered the screen. Doesany one have any other suggestions. I put the white flash in for 1 frame running at 24 fps... and needless to say it didnt look to cool....

Any one know how this is done> And the timing ie frame rate and how many frames the effect should be there to look right?

Hi, I have been using Flash for 1 years. I can create simple 3D animation in SWIFT 3D, but I have no idea how to create above animation. There are too many light and flame, which look very complicated.

Whats the average length an intro should be these days?

Best Way To Handle Long Intros?
i was just wondering what could be better way to syncronize multiple effects ad animations in long intros.i mean putting the MCs one by one in main timeline makes time line long and annoying,so how about putting all the MCs together on main scence with first frame blank and stoped,and activating it through last frame of the preceding mc(tell target)..or is there any better way...???

[F8] Actionscript Help For Intros/Ad Banners
I've seen alot of these banner advertisements on the web now with various elements animating into position. If you go to yahoo.com, now they have a netflix ad that has all these text elements "easing" into position. How is this down via actionscript? I have this slide to function that I found but I haven't figured out how to animate one movieclip after another. I've tried using setInterval and the watch property but have no success. Am I better off tweening this. Heres the code I have to start on the frame 1 of the scene:

This basically slides the movieclip ball_mc into position. How do I trigger another clip into position based on when ball_mc reaches a certain position? For example, when the x position of ball_mc is 300 trigger ball_mc2....or something like that. The second movie clip doesn't have to be an instance of the first movie clip. I want to be able to trigger any movie clip I create based on the property of another movie clip.
I uploaded my .fla file using Flash 8. Please help I haven't been able to figure this out and I don't want to tween. Can someone provide me some actionscript to get started with??

Intros/outros For Preloaders
Hi,

posted this in another forum but didnt get any response - anyone got some advice?

i'll try and keep this brief : i have a basic site which is made up of several swfs which load into a loader in the main swf. the loader works fine and the preloader animation works fine. I've seen a few websites that have a little animation which acts as an intro to the preloader, then has an animation which acts as an outro to the preloader. Now i dont like the sites where the preloader just pops up so thought this intro and outro animations firing before and after the preloader had worked would be great.

i set up the intro animation to launch when you enter the site and when it finishes, it brings up the preloader - tried it and it works fine. same with the outro - it launches and plays when the preloader has completed thanks to a listener.

My problem is i've set these up with function calls, but i need several types of intros and outros - 3 of each to be exact. one for when you enter the site to begin with, one for when you load a external swf & one for when you return to the main swf. they need to be different as each will need to perform different tasks when complete. Now i currently have this as 6 different function calls but that seems like a huge waste Is there an easier set up i should be using?

Best Way To Reverse Out Of Animated Intros To Pages
what is the best way to, say, have the text that dropped down roll back up then go to the next page? Every page and sub page needs to roll back up when you click on a certain page. I was just creating the animation backwards but it's getting crazy. There has to be a better, easier way right?
