Building A Flash Forum
Please, I am new to this site/forum and I havent had much luck anywhere else when asking for help from people on how to create a flash forum.

Does anyone know any good websites that have step by step instructions on how to integrade a forum into a full flash website? I have never used the likes of PHP or MySQL etc before...so it seems very difficult!

Please someone help, need to do it for a project in uni!

i need help learning about bulding a forum.
at this point, i really understand quite little about how the data is stored and updated as the board is signed. i know you can download free message boards from different places but since i know little about html editing, they always end up looking silly and dont match my flash site.

Building A "flash Forum"
Hey guys.

I’m thinking of doing a pen pal site. But very simple and easy, it will just contain text. I want to create like my own “flash forum”. People fill in a form, and after submitting, the submitted text will appear immediately on the “flash forum”. The “flash forum” will automatically build up posts for others to browse. Will this be possible in flash? Can I also number the posts?

It would be great if some flash-guru could help me with this.

Oh, by the way, for what its worth, I’m using flash 8, ActionScript 2.0

Hey everyone

I am enrolled in another forum and I want to embed the flash file into my posting. The forum does support HTML code. How can I do this if I have already uploaded the swf and HTML file on my server? Is their anyway to "call" either file like you would "call" an image? For example:

Hi all, was just wondering if anyone knew of somewhere that either gives the source for a flash forum or gives a tutorial on how to make one, i won't ask for any code here as i know its too complicated to explain on a forum. I have already seen the one at flash-db.com and phpforflash.com but i was hoping for something better. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I realise I might be taking on a hell of a task for someone who is new to all this, but I really need to build a forum in flash.

I'm looking for something very similar to this:

Basically all of the features of something such as phpbb but in flash. It will be added to a flash website that is already built. I don't know if it is possible to build an interface in flash that will run on phpbb?

This would be the best option as I eventually plan to build a non-flash alternative to this website.

Hello everyone.

I received recently a proposal for a project, but with my current skill, I don't know if it can be done easily or not.
My potential client is an amateur, and therefore has only a low budget for its project.

The idea would be to make the forum more lively by incorporating a "guide", somewhat similar to the companion in Microsoft office. this guide should be able to fly around the page as the user wishes.

The problem is that as far as I know, you can't move a flash object inside a page once it is generated.

Since complex animation is desired, Javascript doesn't look like a good option (plus I suck at it), so the best solution is probably to have the whole site converted to flash.

I was wondering if it was possible to embed a PHP forum inside a flash, or if maybe ready-to-use flash forums existed.
I know a flash forum is possible in theory with loadvariables and PHP interaction, but my client doesn't have enough budget to pay me for something so big.

I was wondering if you could help me and point me in a good direction, including if this good direction is to decline my client. Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

I would probably orgasm if someone could get me the code for a flash based forum. The Cold Fusion guestbook isnt exactly what i'm looking for.
The kind of forum I am looking to make isnt a flash menu driven forum. I want it to be a forum completely done in flash.
(ei: all areas, threads, and posts are in the flash window. Also, a scroll bar would be nice)
I am willing to fork over a few bucks to someone that gives me original code (ei: you didnt copy it you lieing basterds). ($5-$10, depending on features...i will customize the look...not the features).

Also, one major requirement...it has to have a password only area (i can put it in...just make it possible).

And if it can be updated automatically that would be great.
(ei: when a new post is posted...it automatically updates the files...it wont email me the .swf file and have me edit it and reload the whole thing)
