Flash :: Hide I.E. Browser

Address URL In Browser.... Hide?
Hello,

Another quick question if I may. I'm using Dreamweaver to create a simple HTML site as an intro to my flash animation. Is there anyway
to link in Dreamweaver so that the address does not appear in the address URL bar on Explorer? Currently it is showing ...intro.html then ...flash.html etc as the user clicks around. I don't mind it showing the main url, just not the pages the user links too.

Any suggestion most welcome!

[AS2] Is It Possible To End Movie Or At Least Hide It In Browser When It's Done?
Because of SEO considerations I am trying to use flash as little as possible in my site.

I need it though for uploading files. I like to have an accurate progress bar and I find flash is great for this.

Anyway once my file is uploaded, successfully, I would like the flash to go away (either exit or hide itself) and reveal an "Add To Basket" button underneath which is written in HTML.

Failing that, is there a way to get flash to change a CSS style of an object so I could have my Add To basket button hidden and then made visible when the flash tell it?

Browser Detect To Hide A DIV Layer?
I am adding a transparent Flash window to an HTML page, so it appears that things are flying over the HTML page. (I'm NOT having a problem with this.)

Problem is that the transparent Flash only works in the following browsers:

Internet Explorer 3 or higher (Windows)
Internet Explorer 5.1 and 5.2 (Macintosh)
Netscape 7.0
Mozilla 1.0 or higher
AOL
CompuServe

So... I need a JavaScript that detects browsers and hides the DIV layer if the wrong browser is detected. I've found browser detection scripts, but can't figure how to modify them to hide a layer.

PROBLEM: I'm totally lame when it comes to scripting. Can some kind soul help me here? I'd be happy to send lots of great karma your way!

Mouse Hide Or Not To Hide? That Is The Question

Pls could you tell me if there is anyway of controlling the coordinates of the mouse hide feature.

For example if i wanted it to confine to a certain area then reapear outside that area, how can it be done?

Mouse.hide Doesn't Hide Mouse
I am developing for a touchscreen and trying to hide the mouse cursor - completely.

But mouse.hide is not doing it's job.

I am trying to go to the Flash 5 standalone player format.

I created an actions layer in the main movie and just inserted the mouse.hide command into it but, alas, there is no hiding going on.

The windows cursors (win98) have all been given a blank icon

Which leaves flash only displaying a cursor (that stupid finger) when a button is pressed - the finger pops up and then instantly dissapears

But its ugly, and unnecessary for Touch Screen navigation

if anyone has any suggestions . . .

I could use a browser scrollbar via Java, but since I want to be free in design of every component I would rather use a flash scrollbar.

Anyone know the AS to make it automatically check the size of the browser for the listeners.... _notice when you resize the browser it works perfectly...but not when it first loads up...any ideas?

Full Browser Movie, But Use Browser Scrollbar When Needed
Is there any way to make a full browser swf that, at a certain point, stops scaling to the stage and allows the browser to use it's native scrollbars?

For example, say my flash site has a top bar (it's y is always 0) and a bottom bar (it's y might be stageHeight - 15). Is there any way to tell the movie to stop scaling if the bottom bar's y is less than say 300, and from that point have the browser display it's scrollbars allowing you to scroll the content?

Where To Get New Browser Profiles For Browser Compat Checks?
Does anybody know where I can get updated browser profiles for the browser compatibility check tool ("target browsers") in Dreamweaver MX 2004? My current list only goes up to IE 6 and Mozilla 1. I've looked around on the Adobe website and can't find anything, even in the Exchanges.

In my little game what is done should be uploaded here if not I noticed a problem. There are som e trees, behind the trees is it draogns. dragons thar popup at random times. And then they popup yuo shot em. But the problem is that you can shot them then they are behind the tree to... How can I fix that?

Which works perfectly, but once the mouse leaves the flash file within my HTML page, the MC its attached to stays visible in the flash area locked to either the bottom or side of the flash file. How can I make the MC invisible while the mouse in not in the swf area, but come back once the mouse enters again.

hi im making a CD-rom presentation and i want to hide the files, is there a way or a program that can do this for me, and i don't want to hid it just by setting it up as a hidden file cause ppl can just set and show the hidden files.

How Should I Hide A Movie?
I'm constructing a Flash file which has several movies.
I only want one movie to show at a time.
BUT, I don't want to reload the movies becuase they hold variables which are required for my application.

What I therefore am trying to do is hide each movie that isn't necessary to be on the stage, by changing it's _x or _y value.

Is this a good strategy?
Is it dangerous to do this for some reason?
Can I do it another way?

Or should I be using another method, say using global variables or something?

Any help/opinionswould be really appreciated.

No problems so far, but when I move my cursor out of the flasharea into the html, the mouse is still hidden!!!

i cannot use a mask because de menu is generate with a text file. so it use textfield.

Hi...is there an easy way to hide/greyout in other words make a button "passive" after it has been hit once. The thing is that I don't want people to be able to hit the same button after the page has loaded.....cause that would just make the page load once more..and be pretty pointless. I use the fs command to hide-limit the "right click" menu; however, I am trying to completely hide- disable the window (which displays settings and about macromedia flash player) so I can create my own (via mc) that will have my own options in it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have some movie clips that I like to hide. And to make the code easier I thougt I might use a loop to do this, but it wouldn't work.

i have a MC on my main timeline.
I set this MC to invisible with

MC._visible=false;

Then i load the file Movie.swf in this MC with:

MC.loadMovie("Movie.swf");

However the movie shows up...i didn't want it to show up until i would give the command MC._visible=true to make the MC which holds the file to visible.

I allready tryied with alpha but i keep having the same problem.

Why does the Flash File shows up even if the MC which holds it is invisible or with 0 alpha setting?
