Flash :: .SWF Not Playing In QT...it's A White Screen

IE Shows White Screen When Playing Local SWF Files
Good morning all,

I've recently run into an issue with IE6 playing SWF files.  As of now when i try to play a SWF file within IE6 I get nothing but a white screen.  If I remove KB943460 the files play correctly....although I dont think this is the root of the problem.

My situation is that I have a vendor application that plays local SWF files on our workstations.  The vendor app has a local cache of SWF content files that it plays based on triggered events.  The application basically acts as an extention of IE when it trys to play the files.  So, the application wont play the files and neither will native IE making this a system issue and not a vendor application issue.

The strange part is that IE shows that Shockwave and Flash are installed correctly.  I can view flash content on a web page just fine. Adobe's page for testing the plugins also shows both as A-oK.  It's only when I try to open a local SWF file that I have the problems.  Also I do have units with the patch that dont experience the problem.  Only some do.  Making this very annoying.

im sure this has been asked millions of times but how come when my flash movie is loading there is a white screen instead of my loadbar. (My loadbar does show up after a bit of loading though)

I am new to flash and have a question. I have a flash intro with a black background but when the intro loads there is a white square displayed where the flash file plays. How do I get rid of it so the entire screen is black the entire time?

My apologies is this has addressed before. I have read the forum extensively and have not seen this problem addressed.

I am trying to play .mp4 files. I have followed the tech article Exploring Flash Player support for high-definition H.264 video and AAC audio and have complete success with the sample videos.

I am not having success with .mp4 files exported out of Final Cut Studio HD using Compressor or using Quicktime conversion. The audio plays fine but the video is a white screen. I feel certain this has something to do with how FCS encodes the video. I would deeply appreciate help or, at least, acknowledgment from other who are having the same problem.

ok iv got a problem with a flash intro iv downloaded!!..the index file & swf file have uploaded ok into smart.ftp...but when you go to my site(netfirms) iv got a blank white screen where the movie is suppose to play??..it works fine on smart..y not on my site?

White Screen Of Death.
a few problems have cropped up in my page. First i would like to know why when swiching between flash files it stays white instead of displaying the text that is accosiated with loading features. Second, I when the page does load some of the button don't appear unless you refresh it.

White Screen Before Preloader

Why does a white screen appear on the html page where my flash movie is embedded while THE HTML PAGE loads? I have a preloader in the swf and the preloader is like 25% done by the time the swf loads on the HTML Page and shows the movie preloading

I see other sites and the swf movies start right away (there's no white while the html page loads.

Can anyone tell me why i have a white box the size of my site for awhile before it disappears to reveal the loader loading behind it? The only actionscript on the first layer is the progress bar script. Once loaded, it skips to frame 2 and fades the site in.

White Flash In Box Before Playing Movie
I have a flash movie created on a black background. It is loaded into a GoLive page, also with black background. Before the movie starts, there is an instant flash of white before turning black and starting the movie. I'm using MX and recall this issue from long ago, but can't remember the fix. Thanks.

Loadmovie White Screen Problem
Hello you guys, I have a serius problem here. I have created a whole site in flash and the seperate menus are displayed with loadmovie option. Here goes the problem: when a menu is loaded for the first time just before it starts playing a white screen appears on the screen for a very, very small period of time. I have tried both loadmovie and loadmovienum and i have a preloader on the next movie but nothing seems to work. Please help me I am desperate and my boss is getting restless with the delay of the site.

Blank White Screen, No Swf File
I embedded my swf file into the html page. Where the swf file should be, it comes up blank. The swf file is only 169k and works fine on my computer. The files are all in the same place, yet only the html files and jpgs work. The swf files don't. help please.

Way To Make White Noise On Screen?
Hello All,

I need to show a full screen white noise animation for approx 10-20 seconds, (at 600x400 movie size).

When I've done this before, file size wasn't a problem (in Director / for cd-rom). I would make 3 or more layers in Photoshop, fill white, add monochromatic - noise, and cycle through them.

Preloader Not Working - White Screen
Hi!

I have created a presentation with a preloader (bar+percant+total kb)

The prob is, when i use IE and avant browser, the presentation wont show up during the preloader frame. after all the presentation have been loaded (100% loaded) then suddenly the presentation come out. why is this happening. Why the preloaders frame won;t show up?

*I tried in Mozilla Firefoz and there's no prob... only in IE

White Screen When Loading New Swf In Empty MC

I apoligize if this question has been asked and answered before I went through the past posts but couldn't find anything.

So here is my problem.

I have an swf with an empty MC in which I load
different swf files. When I click on the button that
is supposed to load the new swf in the empty MC I
first get a white blank screen for a tiny second and
then it loads the new swf. This is the script I have
on the button

Wierrd White Screen Before Preloader
I made a preloader but heres the problem, theres a blank white screen for that last untill the preloader makes it to about 24%

White Screen Preloading Problem

I'm using some loop sounds in my flash movie through the ActionScript Sound object... the problem becomes in my preloading scene which is not showed until the sounds in the library are preloaded, so my progress bar have now no sense since I have added sounds in my movie ( a white area is appearing in my embed object )...

White SCreen Before Flash Loads
Just a quick query websire http://www.courtfarmflorist.co.uk all up and running, but before the page loads the svreen goes white, in flash this does not occur and frame one is the loading bar. However when placed in dreamweaver the problem occurs, any ideas?

Preloading Just White Screen Until 160kb Downloaded
Hi using this preloading script i got off the net.
it works however the preloader displays white screen until 160kb has been downloaded. How can i make it start from 0%?
or is there an alternative easy way to create a preloader?

I inserted a flash anim in an HTML page. When I want to see it from my browser, a white screen (though my anim's background color is black, like the background of my HTML page) appears during a second, then the anim starts.

White Screen Appears B-4 Flash Player Begins
I have noticed something odd that I haven't seen before, when I play my SWF in the flash player. When the player begins, a white screen appears before the swf starts playing...it appears for about 1 second..and then the movie starts.

My SWF is mostly dynamic (dynamic menu system, external swfs, dynamic alpha tweening and dynamic text boxes) and there is a preloader at the beginning. I'm don't think its because my swf is to big, I've tried to make it as lean as possible...

Is this issue common? How can I fix the problem?

[F8] Playing Flash On Plasma Screen
I'm developing my first Flash movie (other than a couple of banner ads); it will be used as a looping demo playing on a plasma monitor at a tradeshow. I've built the demo using the entire stage - 800 x 600 pixels. I expect to put the movie on a CD or DVD, play it on a laptop with SXGA or UXGA resolution, and connect the notebook to a rented plasma monitor. I have a choice of a 37" plasma with a 4:3 aspect ratio or a 42" plasma at a 16:9 aspect ratio. Any suggestions on which monitor to choose? Also, any tips, tricks, or gotchas I should be on the lookout for when creating a Flash file for this kind of medium? TIA

Playing Flash File In Full Screen In Browser

I have created a Flash Presentation. I want my viewers to see the presentation in full screen in their browser. I have used FS command to play the movie in full screen. It is working fine with Flash Player. But when I am seeing the file after publishing it to HTML it is not playing in full screen in either Internet Explorer or Netscape.

Error In Playing Full Screen Flash Button
We are the authors of Flashation Flash menu builder, and a customer has pointed us to the following error while executing a flash button:

"When you are linking pages with Flash buttons in Full Screen mode (hit F11), and you press a Flash Button that links to another page the screen jerks and shakes for a moment till the next page loads. It only happens with F11."

You can check this by visiting our home page http://www.flashation.com goto full mode (hit F11) and click a button.

We believe that this a general Flash error, since a quick check revealed that not only our buttons are affected with this behaviour.

Anyone any ideas?

I have an Macromedia Projector .EXE file that opens up in full screen, but the actual projector window is not full screen. Is their any way i can get it to project full screen without having to code?

Standalone Kiosk Playing Full Screen Vids
Hi guys, client required standalone Emac kiosk type set-up for kids to choose from 3 buttons to view vids/animations. Don't own Director, so Flash was my next best choice. Once final .swf/s finalised, I planned to play 'full screen' with kids using a customised trackball to navigate. Anyway, problem is 1 video is around 6 mins / 200mb+, so embedding this crashes the Flash Player. I'm using Flash MX; is it possible to just LINK to vid file (I can convert to any format)? And/or, is it possible to cache data in Mac's RAM (OSX) for flawless playing? I have fairly limited knowledge of Flash, so needed to keep it as straightforward as possible. I've separated into 3 linked .swf movies rather than scenes to reduce final weights.

on /portfolio and its lower levels the buttons showup but the graphics dont...

[CS3] White Backgrounds Instead Of White, Why?
This is just about the only question that I have right now, until I actually get into doing some work with flash. Anyway:

My problem deals with viewing some flash animations online. Before I updated my Flash Player to version 9, I have been able to view some of the animations on, say, Newgrounds, without a problem. However, after the update, what used to be black backgrounds are now white. A good example of this could be seen on VGCats.com.

On the loading screen and the replay screen, as well as throughout the lyrics, the background is white where it should be black.

Here, I know for a fact that, behind the green star, the background used to be black. But now it's white for some reason.

I've tested this on a couple computers, just in case. All the ones that updated to Flash Player 9 have white backgrounds. The other computers that have not, however, stayed black as it should be. So, I'm only guessing it has something to do with the update, but I do not know what.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both CS3 and Flash Player, and I did the usual things like clearing caches and cookies, but nothing I've done so far has seemed to solve my problem.

More or less, I'd like to know who else has had this problem at some point? Hopefully someone else has, I don't like being the only person in this situation. Makes me feel like an idiot trying to ask.

But I would like to know how to solve this, so I can get on my way with enjoying the animations as they should be.

Flash Player Not Playing Not Playing Properly Low Bitrate Sound

I have created a flash audio player which can play streaming audio (mp3) files and it takes data from external xml file. Everthing is working fine. But when i used a low bitrate mp3 file (size 600 kb, time 3min approx) , it plays the audio with max speed and get ended in 30 seconds. The same audio file is playing normally in windows media player, or winamp,etc.
Plese give me some idea what is happening ........

Check If Movie Clip Finish Playing Before Playing Next
I'm trying to figure out how to create a conditional variable script to check to see if one of the 4 movies are finished before starting the next selected one.

I have 4 menus with 4 movie clips that have an opening and closing animation in them.
When clicking the one of the buttons I would like it to check and see if any of the movie clips are in the open position. Then have the movie that is in the open position play it's closing animation. Then play the selected category movie that the person clicked on.

I know it's all done with variables but just cant figure out how to put it together.

How Do I Check To See If A Sound Is Already Playing Before Playing When Pressing Play
Okay, i really need some help on this. I have a play button where if clicked will play the sound over the top of it when its already playing, if that makes any sense. the sound is already called on the first frame. if the user clicks the play button again, it will play over it.

heres my play button code. i need to know what to add to add to make it check to see if the audio is already playing. My audio sound is named myMusc.

Playing A Certain Frame, After A External Swf File Has Started Playing?
Hi,
This is my first post here.

I need to know how to have a certain frame in my movie start playing, after a external movie I have has started playing.

The problem is basically sync., and I want a certain frame to play only after the external movie begins to play.

I'm using...

The external movie plays after it loads, but I just don't know how to set it up for the frame I want to play after it has started playing.

Full Screen Flash Projector Reverts To Windowed When Exiting Screen Saver
I've created a flash projector that displays a companies product catalog on a 50" touch screen plasma display.
It looks great and plays great if I launch the projector and force it to full screen.
However, since this is a plasma, screen burn in is a major issue to contend with.
I've set the Windows screensaver to activate after one minute of inactivity.
The problem is that when the screensaver is exited by a touch, the flash projector that was running in full screen mode is now back in windowed mode so CTRL-F has to be hit to force it to full screen again.
This isn't good.
So, I guess my question is two-fold:
Is it possible to programatically force the projector to full screen mode so that no user intervention is required? (fscommand works on the first launch, but when the screensaver kicks in, all bets are off.)
And/Or
How would I go about creating a timer to activate an internal screensaver and insert it into the actionscript for the XML gallery?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
