Help With Making A Email Newsletter Sucription From....
My site is done in 1 swf movie using flash5. Ok, now i want to create an email newsletter subscription form that will let users enter their email(just there email) on the site. I have a ftp server with an cgi-bin and PHP/mySQL installed? What do i have to do so that mySQL can stored the email? How are thing linked together? Or what do I have to do to get them to linked? What kind of source code do I need on my flash movie? Help!!

Flash And Newsletter
Hi Flashers,

I'm not a Flash Scripter as I do only animations, but getting in Scripting and need you're help. I'm designing a website in which I added a Flash Newsletter table. Actually, I haven't worked on it yet but I kept a Input text bar with a button (with the script "go to and Play(2)") and in he second frame I had a text "Thank You".

Now the main problem is I want visitors to input their email address into it and their email address should get added in my Excel / Access database, which I can further use to send them the Newsletter. Now I don't know how to embed Excel /Access with Flash. Whaht sript should I give to that button. What database I need to structure out for this. I also need the possibility that user should enter "@" sign in their email address and all.

I hope you people understand what I mean and will help me......

Hi!

I would like to design a newsletter and send it to all our clients... Don't really know how to go about doing it... Must I design a webpage and when I open it in ex. IE, just go to file>send as email?? And, if I do that, and use flash on the page, it gives me an error about Active X and security warnings....?? So, can you not use flash?

The only way I can imagine of how to do this, its by sending an array with the email adresses from Flash to a PHP script that will keep sending emails until the end of the array...

I've got a client who wants to have some animations added to their HTML
enewsletter. I can see creating animated gifs but what is the current view
with Flash elements within an HTML enewsletter? I haven't seen any Flash
pieces within such emails and I'm sure there are a variety reasons for not
doing it, one of which has to do with spam filters and virus protection
issues.

Flash Newsletter Form And Php Backend

I have seen a flash form with php backend tutorial somewhere. Does anyone know where I can find one. I have the flash form created and a flash response. I wasn going to use the http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Ac...83/more7.shtml creating an interactive flsah form script and modify it for a post instead of a get and call my php email script. Anyone have a better idea? or a link to that php flash form tutorial script. I just can't locate it again, and it takes forever to navigate this site.

Newsletter Solution Apache, Flash, PHP, MySQL
Hello,

I'm hoping someone has already crossed this path. I just found out a couple of days ago that we'll be taking on a newletter mailing list.

We have a dedicated server and it's robust enough to handle it and we will being using Linux, Apache, Flash, PHP and MySQL.

The registration form will need to collect the usual name and email address, but the client needs to collect demographic information so a few custom fields will be required and it will need to be opt-in and stored in MySQL. It would be nice if registrants had to enter a visual field as well to help keep the bots at bay.

The newsletter system itself, needs to be robust, user friendly, and bug free.

Is there a total package out there I can buy, or does anyone know a developer who does customized newsletter packages?

All I've been able to find is PHP, MySQL packages, I've done some hacking on one or two the but best I can achieve so far is imputing the data into MySQL using a separate PHP form (haven't figured out how to get fields with alpha characters to show up in the db), the biggest problem though is the opt-in or double opt-in, that gets bypassed altogether. Which I why I am here.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I need a good tutorial or instruction on creating or installing a php script of some sort done thru FLASH!! to have people provide their email address to a database or something. When they provide their email...they simply submit it and when I want to send an updated newsletter to everyone I can.

Hello guys. I'm looking in how to do a very simple newsletter in flash. Just a textbox to input the mail that want to receive the news and a send button. in the email of the person how want to receive the newsletter, should receive a email with a confirmation and, after confirm, I'll receive an email to join the mail to a contact list, so I can sen all the news to the interest people.

AS2/PHP Newsletter?
I've had a search on the forums, but haven't found exactly what I am looking for.

I have a commision for a website, and they need a simple newsletter, where people sgn up from the flash site, and they can send a bulk newsletter etc.

I would imagine a simple db or text file would suffice, where they can manually add the collected email addresses and send out a newsletter, rather than a dedicated control panel.

Does anyone know of a Flash newsletter script, preferably AS2 and PHP?

[F8] XML Newsletter-ish Tutorial?
first off, i didn't know if i should put this in the xml forum because this deals mainly with XML or this forum because it is something that seems simple.
i'm making a flash site, and i would rather not have to reopen and change the fla every time i want to change something like a picture, or write an article or something.
from what i have read, it seems that this can be best accomplished with XML.
what i need to know how to do:
a script that loads a picture from the xml file into a alotted area on screen(guessing a blank MC)
a script that lets me populate a scrollable textfield with text from the xml file

This is for users to be added to a annual newsletter, the user will submit their email address. (Enter address, click send)..

Little Newsletter Thing
Happy New Year to Everyone Here at Kirupa!

I got this little news letter thing that I am trying to get working heres the layout of the little guy:

All in one MC called: newsletter_mc
A dynamic text field, a button and a background image.

when user enters email address and presses button time line goes to nextFrame and plays (text field and button fades out.) thank you appears and then goes back to frame one (text field fades in and button fades in) and stops on frame 5.

soooo. with that being said I am having issues still, here is the AS i have written:

Creating An Editable Newsletter
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is probably a topic relating to this but I don't know what to search for to find it!

I have a website created in Flash and my customer wants to create a postcode driven information page, so that when a user enters a particular postcode (or clicks on a specific are of a map) they get a new page that opens and contains text relating to their locality. The client would also like to be able to update this text on a regular basis from there own pc terminals.

Could anyone suggest any topics that cover this, the best way to do it or give me any answers to get me started.

How Do I Go About Getting A Newsletter Form On My Site?
Hi! I made a very simple teaser-type, coming-soon sort of site for my band, who is coming out with an album. I'd like to throw a newsletter sign up form on there, however. Can anyone offer up some ways I could do it?

Should I do it entirely in flash, or link to an HTML signup page? I'd like for someone to just enter their email address, click a button, and that's that.

Newsletter Form Problems
Hi! I did the "Send email with PHP" tutorial at http://www.gotoandlearn.com (twice!) and added the form to my site at http://www.vocables.org, and it's not working.

The funny thing is, when I test the form in Flash, the PHP script doesn't send the data where it's supposed to, but Flash at least responds to this and goes to the "error" frame. When I upload it to my server, however, nothing happens when you click the "send" button.

Any ideas?

Newsletter / Send E-Mail
I´ve got nothing to do with php but i simply need help how to send a simple pre-created .html document (newsletter.html) that´s in a servers directory.

The Flash part,

just a simple textinput field where clients can put in their e-mail, on clicking ok they should get the newsletter.html as an html e-mail with checking if the file exist and if the e-mail is well formated.
