on some site they have for instance a mouse(rodent not computer)
and when the computer mouse goes over it. it moves to a differnt spot
the effect is you cant catch it.

Move Movie Clip Based On Mouse Position.
I have a movie clip that is masked in a 400x400 square.

I basically just want to be able to mouse around within the 400x400 square and have the movie clip move within those boundaries, without breaking them, cause then you will see the edges of the image.

I' know this is pretty basic I'm assuming.. but I haven't had much experience with mouse/movie clip positioning.

I have the basic of basics start:

Mouse Triggering A Movie Clip To Move Fast/slow
I am trying to work out how to make the mouse move a movie clip fast and slowly as the mouse moves around the stage. I've seen it done on other sites and cannot figure it out. What I want to have is a clip containing buttons and as you move the mouse near the clip it slows down so the user can click the buttons and as you move the mouse away it speeds up. I was hoping that someone might be able to steer me in the right direction with the correct action script!

I have a flash movie that displays and loops my 40 logos inside a movie clip...

then,I have two big Button Arrows on each side(left & right side)on the main movie.

I need these arrows to be functional..
- when mouse hovers on left arrow, the logoClips will move fast right to left
- when mouse hovers on right arrow, the logoClips will move left to right.

can you guys help me?

note: movie clip logos are already moving right to left slowly using motion tween, I need to put button arrows to navigate. If you have better version ...pls help

Swarm To Mouse W/ Elasticity And Move Randomly W/ No Mouse
I started another thread where i had gotten help and combined the snow tutorial and the programatic mask tutorial to create particles that reveal an in-focus image over a blurred one. I just need help making the particles swarm around the mouse when it is present and have the particles just float around when not.

Presently the random motion is just fine and looks like this (i just inverted the this._x and this._y so that they would go with the mouse direction not away from):

"width" and "height" are variables that refer to the size of the movie.

All the mouse trail FLAs i could find just sort of stuck in the corner if you moused off the flash movie. I would like to make it so the particles return back to their little merry random paths after you have moused off the movie.

Testing For Mouse Down AND Mouse Move
I'm having some issues with MX and event handlers. Here's what I've got currently:

Essentially, I need a certain action to take place when the user clicks-and-drags. But not if the user ONLY single-clicks.

So I have the onRelease function set a flag. This flag, in the next statement, calls 'return'. My understanding is, this should stop the current (onMouseDown) function and not execute any more code, but it doesn't seem to work.

I need to either figure out why the 'return' statement isn't working, or find a way to test if the mouse has been pressed AND if the mouse is moving.

Any help?

I have attached the 'onmousemove' event handler onto a movie clip (I want the movie to goto the next scene if the mouse is moved). However it does not seem to work...do I have to work out the mouse coordinates first or something? If anyone could provide me with the script I would be very greatful!

i've got a mc with 3 frames in it, and each frame has a stop action

i've placed the mc on the main timeline and given it an instance name of "top_panel_mc"

on the mc instance i've placed this code:

onClipEvent (mouseMove) {
_root.top_panel_mc.nextFrame;
}

but nothing happens

what i want is for the movie to move 1 frame every time the mouse rolls over it

can anybody point out my flaw please?

Hi everybody

I wondered if anybody could help me out.

I just want to have a picture to move to the right when the mouse is on the right side of the picture, to the left side when the mouse is on the left side of the picture and up and down as well and also when the picture has come to the end that it stops moving.

There is an example on www.boss.com and you have to choose full versjon, and if you click on the button Boss green and choose collection under menswear, and then skip the intro/video, the pictures come up, and the picture on the right can be moved with the mouse, If anybody can be bothered to take the time and help me out, I would be very happy

I am building a project that shows a movie clip when the mouse is moved and then hides it when the mouse is idle for a set period of time. I have things working well with one minor problem. The user usually lets the mouse idle while viewing the mc. Fortunately the mouse is over the mc. How do I modify my script below to fuction as it is, but keep the mc vivble when the mouse is over the mc?

Any help is most appreciated.
