I recently "borrowed" some .fla's from here and I am having trouble with the OSX type dock menu. The menu uses only one mc from the library. How, in the script, do you get it to load multiple mc so you can actually use the menu as navigation with multiple buttons? I have attached the file.

Second, from that same website there is an example of windows that resize in a really cool "organic" style. I was wondering how you would achieve this effect in MX? I hope this all makes sense.

Can any one know the javascript function to auto resize the swf when resizing its pop up window.
I need to auto resize the swf when i resize my popup window in which
the swf is displayed.

Window Resizing
Hey does anyone know how to make the window resize like the devlab window on the swift3d site? When you click on a button, the window resizes to the size of the swf. How is this done?

I'm going mad here! - I know this is probably really simple but i have a flash movie and i want the links to pop up in a new window of a defined size - i also want to turn off resize and get rid of the toolbar and scrollbar.

Hi All,

I have an application in which thre are some windows to control the settings and all.

now the problem is, I want those windows to be SIZIBLE...ie. on pressing and dragging at the bottom right corner of the window, the window shud get resized as we do in normal windows applications..the child objects in my window should not get expanded/compressed. the winodow contents dimensions should be intact and their relative position may change based on the main window.

For more simplicity I want to develop a Chat window like Yahoo instant message window..in which, on resizing the winodow size the TEXT AREA gets resiged and other objects are intact..

I have tried, but I could expand/compress the whole window ..but not resizing it..

any Ideas plz ??

i would like to know how can i make a flash movie resize the window in which it plays.

I have a movie "a" that links to a movie "b", but movie "b" should be a 400x400 movie (ex) but the window appears as a 1024x768...

I have seen some sites that do this "resizing" so.. it is possible?

Hi, how do you resize your document window in dreamweaver so that it is the exact size of your flash movie or image.
I have been trying to do this in dreamweaver but cant seem to work out how to do it with out changing the size of my movie/image.

Hi Everyone, I have a question (hopefully a simply one.)

Does anyone know how I can embed an swf in a page such that when the window is resized, the movie behaves in the same way as when you preview it from within flash using "test movie". That is to say - the movie does not rescale as the window is resized, and content is visible outside of the 'dimensions' of the movie.

I've seen some sites that do this: eg www.amplifier.com - I just for the life of me can't seem to figure it out.

I have a big problem please help.

I have at the begining of the project made my stage to small 550x 400 (default) but now when i open the IE the project shows in that size, it also shows like that when i open the Application (.exe) file (icon with the grey F).

when i try to resize the window all the banner designs dont fill the screen as i adjust the window it simply does not work.

did i have to choose the right stage size from start or can I change that with action script now, or adjust some settings on the publishing tap.

I have a button that opens an external swf into a new window, that bit works. the problem is that when it opens the swf resizes to the size of the window which is full screen. the swf is only 145x145 and i need the window to open up to that size too. any ideas how i can do this??

Resizing A Dragable Window.
Can anybody exlpain to me in simple terms how I can create a resizable Flash window. I have trawled through the Tutorials and Flash movies and while there are some good examples of resizable windows I cannot decipher the coding to deconstruct them.

My window has at present maximise/minimise toggle, close button, and is dragable. But I cannot get my head around how to use the Drag function, or alternatively the mouseMove function, to scale the window on the stage.

What has been happening is that resize button will move independent of the window and the window scales erratically.

So what I'm asking for is a 101 class in resizing a dragable window if anybody could be of help.

Can anybody help me with a easy-to-understand tutorial in resizing a dragable window. I have searched through the movies and tutorials and while they are all good examples within their own rights, I'm having trouble deconstructing the actionscript in order to apply it to the window on my web-site.

So a simple 101 in the coding of resizing a dragable window would be appreciated, if anybody could be of help. The window I have created on my site already has a maximise/minimise toggle, a close button, and is dragable. But I can't get my head around how I can resize the window as all my attempts have resulted in failure.

I have an (onRelease)GET URL. I have it opening in a _blank window but I want to open it up to a 640x480 window. I can do it through javascript but I don't know how to do it in Flash...!!!!

Resizing Projector Window
I need to resize the projector window automatically. I created a movie at 640 X 480 and now wish to publish it for email distribution. I want the projector to automatically resize itself to 320 X 240. I dont want only the movie to be rescaled withing the projector window. How do I do this.

Window Resizing Problematic
I have a flash (MX) movie that draws lines (and other simple geoemtric shapes) via mouse drag. The dimensions of the movie are: width:800 px, height=1200 px. I'have used the following embed tag to include the movie in my html code.

The movie works fine as long as I don't resize the browser's (IE 5) window. However, after loading the movie, if I resize the window a strange thing happens. The movie works fine on the top part of the stage but not on the bottom part (the part that I have to scroll down to get to). The effect of mouse drag (which should be a visible geometric shape) becomes invisible. When I drag the mouse I don't see any line being created. Yet, when I scroll up and down once, the line is there.

What puzzles me is that thhis behavior occurs only when I resize the browser's window and only on the bottom part of the stage.

I appreciate any comments that may explain the behavior or any suggestion that may remedy the problem.

Resizing In The Transform Window - Pls Help
I've got an object (a movieclip) that I'm scaling up and down on different keyframes, for a 'zoom in' effect.

I select the object in the first frame, and its size is 100%. Then in the second keyframe, I've got it set to 200%. So far so good - the scaling works fine. Thing is, I want it to change the scale from 200 to 300%. I enter '300' in the Transform box and hit enter. Instead of scaling the object to 300%, the thing resizes my object to 105.7% by 187.7%!!

Is this perhaps happening because there is a maximum % size one can resize an object to?

okay I know this should be really simple, but for some reason I can't get it to work...

Resizing A Window That Is Already Open.
I have a bunch of buttons in my movie that will open other pages in a window. I have no problem opening thes pages in a window. I have it so that all the pages open in the same window so that the viewer doesn't end up with 20 windows open after clicking all the buttons. My problem is that I need to make this window resize when the new pages are loaded. My width and hiegth properties work for the first button that is pushed but once the window is open the other buttons won't change the size, they just change the page that is displayed in the window. Can someone tell me how to get this to work the way I'm trying to? Here is the action I have on my buttons.

Flash Window Resizing
I have a simple question. I would like to know how to open up separte smaller windows in a flash website. For example, you are on my site, and then click on a picture link and another small window fit to the picture size pops open. I want the windo to have no scroll bar and no explorer bar etc. Just a plain window with flash content. I have looked in various actionscript books and can't seem to find it. Its driving me nuts.

Locking/resizing Window
How can i get my flash site to open in a window that is exactly the same size, can't be resized and does this in both netscape and internet explorer? I can lock the window off at 800x600 which is the size of my movie, but this is unpredictable because the person viewing it may/maynot have the Address/navigation bars up.

Any advice?

I created a movieclip that acts just like a window (Minimize button, close button, draggable). In the bottom right corner of the window there is a resizing button. I want to be able to click and hold on that button and drag to change the size and shape of the window. Is there a tutorial for this somewhere? If not, can someone explain how to do it? Dynamic Window Resizing
Hello all! Been visiting the site for a long time and finally got hung up on something that I haven't been able to find an answer to here. You guys have been awesome so far.

If you haven't checked out liquidgeneration.com yet do so..it's a sweet site. I was really wondering how you can dynamically resize the window the way they do?

When the site opens in expands fully to your resolution, but then you can grab the handles and move it all around and things change on the fly while still maintaining all functionality.

I think it is a sweet feature and was hoping someone could get me going in the right direction.

Previously i was using getURL byt it is not working with flash player 8. it is working with previous version but not with the latest vdrsion.

Browser Window Resizing
I have an entirely flash app, a swf menu that calls 3 swf games, that I publish using iframes as I know NO html, I'm embarrassed to admit ....

Up to now all has worked OK, but now I want my application's stage to resize when the browser window is resized.

I tried to follow the O'Reilly tutorial, but found that hitTestObject (very important in the app) did not work, so I made it work with mode showAll instead of mode noScale (see my prior post http://board.flashkit.com/board/show....php?t=785960).

All four swfs work perfectly locally, they resize and hitTestObject works.

However, when I upload them and try to run them in the browser (still using iframes) they don't resize.

Can somebody help me to get the right html code to put around my swfs?

I'm trying to get the browser window to resize to 1024x768 with no toolbars or scroll bars etc. I've read four or five tutorials about it on here and I'm a little better off, but still relatively lost.

questions:
1. can i make the current window resize or do I need to have it open as a new window to set the size?

2. where exactly do I put the code? where exactly in the html and where does the getUrl go?

Constrain The Swf While Resizing The Window
Here is the deal:

I use Golive to hold my flash sites and I need to know how to allow the user to resize the window without distorting the dimensions of my flash movie. In order to accomidate the constained swf, I want there to be a border on the top if the window is resized to narrow or a border on the sides if the window is scaled to short. Please help.
