I want to insert a flash movie into one frame of a frameset page. And when clicking a botton, I want the URL link to display in another frame page (as seen on http://www.puddleofmudd.com), not in a new window or self window. How can I set the target like that, Please.....help me

Sending A Loadmovie Command To A Flash Movie, From An Html Page In A Different Frame
Hi,
I'd be very grateful to anyone who could help me with the following problem:
I have an html frame at the top of my two frame website; this top frame acts as a navigation panel (written entirely in flash). When the user clicks on the different links it loads new content into the frame below and also changes the flash navigation frame by using the loadmovie command.
This all works fine if a user only selects links in the flash frame, but what I also want to do is to have links in the html frame beneath it - here comes the problem. If a user clicks an ordinary html link, it needs to change the flash frame above by sending a loadmovie message to it - is this possible and if so how?

How can the html link (lt frame) make the flash movie (rt frame) goto and play a particular frame within the movie?

Going To THAT Frame From Html Page Outside Movie
I've been given the task of creating a link within a single HTML page (actually an HTML email) that will load up my company's website (Flash) and go to this one particular frame.
I've discovered that this might be possible if I use javascript (asFunction or fscommand) - but I don't how to use javascript. All my searches bring up rather advanced information, and assume you know what you're doing...which I don't.
I've grasped the idea that something goes into the HTML code - something that defines the function or command or whatever, and something else goes into the beginning of the Flash movie which is triggered (and subsequently moves the playhead to the frame specified) when the link in the HTML page is clicked. But I don't know what any of those things are, the examples I've found do other things (like create a link IN the flash movie that moves the playhead to another frame in that same movie).
Can anyone explain to me what I need to do - a simple example of the code, with directions on where to put it in each piece would be really helpful.
Specific Html Page Triggers Specific Frame Of The Flash Movie
I have been playing with flash and html and wonder if any of you have a bright idea on how to do this.
I have a flash movie, which I call from html but depending on which part of the html page I call it from I want to start it at a particular frame and not always from the beginning.
I have created a variable within the movie in action script and given it a different value for each of the frames I want to start the movie at, and want now to designate the value I give to that within html so that the movie “jumps” to the correct frame. Is this possible or am I totally crazy??
How To Change Movie Frame With Javascript From Html Page
Hi, I the following scenario:
I have a movie with 5 frames, each with a movie clip in it.
I would like it so that when I hover over a link (mouseover) that is on the same html page that the movie is embedded in but not in the movie itself, that it will go to that particular frame.
I am using Flash CS3 and DW CS3. I tried using the Control Flash behaviour in DW to go to the specified frame, however, it won't work (won't switch to the desired frame).
Anyone know how I can go abouts resolving this issue? Thanks.
HTML Code In Flash To Load An HTML Page In A Frame
Hello.
I have an existing website built in html, with three frames. One on the top for the banner, one on the left for navigation, and a larger window to the right of the navigation for the main content. I want to replace the content in my navgation frame with a flash built navgation menu, and when my menu items are selected, it will load a new page in the content frame.
I currently have this working fine in html. I can make my buttons link to a URL no problem in flash, but how do I tell it to load the content into the other frame? I haven't started this process yet, and figured I'd ask first to get any ideas.

Major Newbie here! I hope I can articulate this correctly.
I have a frame-to-frame site that also has links to html pages within the site. I need to be able to follow a link from say, frame 2 to an html page, view that page, then return to frame 2.Currently, it only goes to the begining of the swf (frame1).
-as one would expect because I don't know how to deal with it.
Could anyone point to a VERY basic tutorial on what to do? I'm sure this is a common item to deal with but I cannot find the answer.

Loading HTML Page Into Flash Frame
I'm looking to have the contents of an HTML document load into a rectangular box (size of about 500 x 400 pixels). The HTML document is an 'easy' way of allowing someone in the future to edit without having to know Flash. This HTML document is a simple table displaying menu items.
Instead of someone having to know how to change FLA files within Flash all they will have to know is how to edit an HTML file.
I know I could do all this with a txt file. But is there a command to do in in html?

Yes, it's a horrible thing, but help me make this work and I promise I'll never buy another template.
If you click the "Families" button at the top of the page, it brings you to another Flash page. Then, if you click "The Video Imagination Transfer Process", you'll be sent to a plain html page.
So if our client wants to then "go back", the Flash reloads itself, whereas I want them to just be sent back to the "Families" page.
How the heck do I make this happen?
I think a problem is that the Flash site is a hot mess, as we bought a template (yeah, I know, never again.) and the "Families" page is just a particular layer and frame in the Flash timeline.
Any good diagnosticians out there?
so I guess the question would be can I write a button/scripty thing to place in the html that will send the viewer back to a frame of the flash, and not reload the whole dang thing all over again?

Control Flash Frame Played From Html Page
Is there a way to control a flash movie from the webpage you are on? I have a single swf that is just a slide show but the client wants the flash movie to start on slide "x" and so on depending on what page you are on in the site.
So at home page it will start on frame 1("start") and on the menu page the swf needs to start at frame"x"("menu")
Any suggestions?

Open Independent Html Page In Flash Frame

Is it possible to open an html page in a flash movie?
More specifically, I am using geturl ('http://path/to/script', '_self', 'post');
don't think that is exact syntax cause I'm not looking at the script but it's about right.
Anyway that script is processing some variables, but the bad thing is that it's doing it in a completely different page. So the user has a hard time getting back to the movie after the processing is done. I'm trying to figure out a way for this to happen but the user not leave the movie and one way I thought of was to have the page show up on like frame 50 or something. then I could put a back button in. So in a nutshell, is it possible to open up yahoo.com (for example) in a flash frame?

How Can Flash Be Added To Web Page And Not Be Stopped By Popup Blocker
Any time I add flash to a web page and try to preview it the popup blocker stops the flash content and I have to allow (blocked content) in order to view entire page. The question realy, is it possible to build a web page in flash that won't get auto blocked by popup blocker.

It works, but instead of loading the "about.html" file into the "bottomFrame", it opens it in a new window; regardles of browser.
Funny thing is, this file worked perfectly about 4 months ago, and now its cactus. Anyone?

Carousel Icons Not Showing Up When Flash File Added To Html
Hi there.
I am not new to html or flash but, some what new to XML. I created a carousel based off the tutorials and it works great on my computer but, when I create an html file and attach the .swf file the flash file loads but, the icon images or anything from the .xml file doesn't appear.
This is what I use to load my .swf file :

HTML Page Within A Flash Movie?
I have an HTML page on my server that I'd like to be able to have inside my Flash movie, is there any way this could work? I don't want to use the external Text file method. I've been trying to use an iframe over a Flash movie to fake it but I just get all kinds of browser problems when I try to do that. I'd just like Flash to be able to display an HTML page like an iframe does. Is that possible?

I am interested in getting the HTML code of the containing page of the flash movie. For instance, I want to be able to examine the content of the page from within the flash movie itself. To do this, I was hoping to be able to communicate with the page using fscommand or something of the sort, however I cannot find a way to actually call a javascript command and be able to get the results of its execution. Can anyone think of a good way to do this?

[F8] Starting Flash MOVIE At Different Frame On Page Load
I have a page with a flash graphic/menu on top. When the page loads it plays a sound file and runs an animation. What I would like to achieve is a way to tell flash to just go to the end of the movie when the user clicks the menu buttons and it loads a new page. This way it only runs the animation on a "fresh" loading. I cannot think of a way to do this, and have already spent some time scanning the tutorial section. You can view the website here...

Is this possible?
I want to launch a flash movie (800 by 600) from an html page - fairly straightforward I guess!
However here is the tricky bit - when the user clicks on the button to launch the flash movie, instead of opening a new window with the flash movie as soon as the user clicks the button, I would like to display a loading bar (possibly a small flash movie embedded into the html page) on the html page. When the loading bar gets to 100% i.e when the flash movie has completely loaded, I would like then to launch the 800 by 600 flash movie in a new window...
If this is indeed possible - can anyone suggest how to do it?

I have a list of links that I want to open an external HTML page within my Flash movie how can I do this?
For example: 5 links changing a common content area. The content area would display 1.htm, 2.htm ..., depending on which link you selected.

Flash Movie As A Background In An HTML Page
Abit new to flash.
I have made a swf that I want to play in the background of an HTML page while other HTML elements are on top, image buttons, etc. (I cant make the other elements flash due to some other issues in the enviroment I am designing this for at this time.) But it seems no matter what I do, the flash movie cant have anything on top of it. I have tried as a seperate frame in the background and as an embedded object at a lower layer number.
Is it even possible, and if so any hints or help to get that to work?

I'm creating a movie that displays an XML document as a tree. All nodes should be expandable and collapsable, which means that the size of the tree constantly varies. Whenever the tree is smaller than the movie's space, it fragments the page. Whenever the tree is bigger than the movie, I need to add scrollbars and end up with an annoying window-within-a-window construct.
