Here's my problem

As you can see i am trying to imcorporate a flash animation into Dreamweaver Mx and when you click on the index.html page a pop up window should open with defined paramaters. Can anyone help please

Flash Animation In Dreamweaver MX With Popup Window
Hey two3rdswater thx for replying, i tried to post the code in my previous question but i didnt show. Is there a way I can import this logo, Jpeg file and add animation to it? If so how, and if I can't, how can i build this logo in flash?

I'm trying to take this...make the bar on the left flash with green, kinda like a power bar, from bottom to top and then when it reaches the sun rays at the top, those to go around clock wise and flash yellow until they reach the bottom, and i want this to loop over and over. Adding A MC Animation To The Flash Progress Bar Component
I've completed a Preloader and Progress Bar SWF using the default Flash 8 components. Everything works fine (it loads a large SWF project I completed), but I'd like to add a little animated logo above the progress bar.

Without diving into custom made preloaders, I'd like to stick with what I have made already. I see a line of code that makes the progress bar disappear once the main SWF is loaded:

// Hide the progress bar now as we don’t need it any more
myProgressBar._visible = false;

I've added my logo MC to a new layer in my preloader.fla, and named it myLogo.

What will I need to do (if it's possible, that is) to make the logo MC disappear along with the Progress Bar?

I've tried adding:

myLogo._visible = false;

After naming the logo MC instance myLogo, of course.

But this still doesn't work - the logo MC doesn't disappear.

Can any one suggest how to do this? I've attached my ActionScript code in TXT format.

Trouble Adding Animation To Existing Rollover Animation
Hey all,

I'm using Flash 8. I have a picture of a building which is segmented into floors. Upon rolling over a grouping of floors the user sees either a blue overlay, indicating they can click, or a gray overlay simply describing what the floor is. I already have some actionscript in place and I don't need to alter it, I just added more animation to an existing movieclip rollover, but it's not quite working. On one of the floors that rolls-over gray, I want an additional rollover with some text. So I made a movie clip of the rollover animating out and the type coming in and I just added it to the gray fade in movie clip since there was already onRollover actionscript in place there. However, the rollover kept playing over and over again. So, of course I added a Stop action. Then, the animation didn't work anymore, it just rolled over to the final state of that animation. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do, or what I can do as an alternative? I'll post the actionscript in case that helps. Like I said, the rollover "rolls-over" but either loops (without a Stop action), or rolls over to the final frame in the animation (with a Stop action).

Sorry if the question sounds a bit confusing, but I've previously managed to create rollover animations for static movieclips, but I'm really struggling to add a rollover animation to a movieclip that already has an existing looping animation, and also ensure that there is a smooth transition regardless of where the looping animation has reached? Dreamweaver Flash Text Help
I am editing my Webpage in Dreamweaver and I wanted to add Flash Text to it.
But, my background picture isn't one color so the background color of the Flash Text isn't quite matching up. I was wondering if there is a way to make the background color just transparent or something. Any help? And yes, I tried using the eye drop thingy, grabbing the color from the background. It didn't work.

Adding Text Behind The Flash
Hi, I'm not a flash man so I'd get someone else to build the flash elements I need on my site but just need to know the following:

I would like a small flash area on the home page of the site to explain to new and existing users a little more about the company. I would also like this to be Search Engine friendly. So, can I also add text, maybe in the source code, that would say exactly what text is on the flash element so that it would get picked up by Search Engines?

Adding Points Throughout Animation?

I am using Flash MX and am quite new to it.

I'm trying to make a mask for a movie clip that I am animating. In order for this mask to change shape correctly as the animation progresses, I'm going to need to add pen points at each keyframe I have set. Is it possible to add pen points that aren't present in the beginning to a shape in an animation? They just need to be added at each keyframe. I hope this is clear.

Animation Adding And Subtracting?
Couldnt think of a name for what I want to do so Ill explain...

THIS is a quote engine for a client who specialises in digital print.

The user basically chooses their required print job specs and eventually they'll get emailed their quote.

In the space top right I want to add some animations that play on each button rollOver...which I can do no problem, except for when it comes to choosing the quantity, if possible, can I have say 4 boxes appear when then hover over 400, then when they move to 300 can one of them boxes be animated out (like you're taking it away, or if the hover over say 500, another box animates in to join the original 4 if that makes sense. I gather it is possible but Im unsure how to go about it......have each box as a separate MC but what AS would make them add and subtract themselves?

My news is loaded dynamically on my flash website through a text file, and I'd just like to know, is there any way to add-to or open up and completely change the news textfile through flash? I'd like to streamline it for the other people who'd like to post.

I have managed to make a "writing text effect", and it is one of the layers over the one with the background transition in Flash MX. However, The text immediately disappears when the first image in the slideshow appears. What I want is a static text that stays there the whole time, like the example above. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

I recently downloaded a free tutorial with source files for a carousel animation. It works perfectly, however when one of the numerous moving icons is clicked information /data is being displayed in the parent window which is taken from an xml file.

Basically I want a html page or URL to open when an icon/image is clicked by a user. (making it a menu system and not merely an animation) Each icon would be a link to a different html file or URL i.e. home, about, services, contact etc or www.google.com etc.

I dont know where exactly i can achieve this! Can i add the link in along with the data on the xml file or does script have to be written in the flash file? If so could someone please let me know exactly how to achieve this as I have no experience with actionscript.

Adding Actionscript Animation To Menu ...

I have built a simple menu which makes its buttons from variables (using the 'dynamic menu with submenu's' from the tutorials on this site).
I would like to know if its possible to add some actionscripted animation to this menu - for example when a submenu opens, all the main buttons below are forced down to reveal the submenu options - I'd like the buttons below to move down to reveal the new buttons.

Problem Adding Animation To A Button
Newbie here....

I'm trying to drag a movie clip onto the stage over a button that I want it to animate in the "up" frame....but it's not working. I get an error message that says "you cannot place a symbol inside itself"

I think maybe I'm just doing something wrong. Basically I have a button that I want to fade in and out continuously in the "up" frame, and the button is text. I originally animated the button and copied the frames to make a movie clip symbol, then I deleted the original animation to the button so that I could apply the movie clip animation to the "up" frame. Does this make sense?

What am I doing wrong?

Adding Input Text To POST URL In Flash

I have a simple query. I have been trying to teach myself Flash / Actionscript and need some help.

I am trying to add a mailing-list registration page to a flash site, and i am having problems tagging the 'input text' onto the end of the URL.

Th steps i have taken are:

1. Made an input text box with the instance name 'email'.
2. Added the following actionscript to the submit button:

The URL variables work to access the 'Constant Contact' registration page, but it will not tag on the input text at the end. If I add an email address to the actual URL in the code, it works just fine. I just need to pick up the input text.

Text In Flash Animation Will Not Show
I am hoping that I could "pick" the group's brain for a quick moment. I am a novice developer when it comes to using Flash and I am in the process of developing a series of Flash Banners. My problem...the text will not display the banner when I save it as a GIF file. It works fine in the "html" and ".swf" file format. I always make to check "animated" option when I am publishing the banner as a GIF file. I did update my flash player as well. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Help Needed With Flash 8 Text Animation
Hi, I'm new to Flash 8, and I'm trying to make text fade in and out. I have done it 2 ways and when I scrub through the timeline, I can see the effect nicely, however, when I run 'Control/Test Movie', the effect is no longer there.
I've tried making the text a graphic object and altering the alpha values, and I've also applied a transition effect to the plain text object. Again, with both methods, you can see the effect in the timeline window as you scrub through, but when I run test movie, or export as a .swf, the effect is not there.
Can anyone offer any insight on how to resolve this? Thanks very much in advance.

Flash Streaming And Text Animation In One Movie
Hello there:

Here is what I'm trying to do:

I have created a flash movie with one frame some graphics and logo on seperate laters and one layer contains my FLV video which is set to be streamed from the srver so there is only a refrence of that movie on stage in one frame.
but before my movie starts streaming I would like to have an animated text on the screen.

So for that I created second scene and put my animated text there.
I want the movie starts with my flash text and then starts the second frame where it streams my movie but when I publish my movie it shows the text then only one frame of my streaming movie then loops back to my animated text and plays it over again.
how do i go about doing that?
any ideas?
I don't want to embed the video in my timeline cause it a big movie and I would like to stream it.

Loading External Text/graphics Files Into A Flash Animation
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.

I need to load different text and graphics files into a movie.

I have a popup window formatted as needed which is part of the main movie.

The basic idea is that there are different buttons on the screen which when clicked call up the popup formatted box.

The text and graphics files are all different but are related to the text files.

Can anyone suggest some Actionscript, javascript, or php which I could use to solve the problem??
