Exporting To Animated Gif
I need to be able to create an animated gif that is less then 15 kb in size.
The best I can do, with just text and simple, straight movement tweens is around 30k. That's exporting at 16 colours.
I noticed there was an option for smoothing that was checked. When I uncheck this it brings the filesize down to around 5k, but I don't see anything happening in the gif when I view it.
I've attached the file I am trying to work with here.
Exporting Animated Gif
I have an extremely short animation. I export the movie as an animated gif and the image is grainy. If I put the same graphic into Fireworks and export a gif, it is clear. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Exporting Animated .gif
Dear All.
I have been tyring to export an animated banner, in animated .gif format. it's a simple animated text with no gradients. it should go on top of a graphic which has some gradients and is multi-coloured and with effects (the colours are similar to the one i used in the page) as you can see here the text looks a bit funny and the quality is low: http://www.artapart.net/test.html
what's the best way to optimize it?

Problem About Exporting To Animated GIF
Hi, I have a question about exporting a clip into animated GIF file. The graphics in the clip were exported, but the actionscript, which provides animation for the graphics, were not exported. Therefore, it ends up a static graphic. However, if I export the clip to swf file, everythings okay (the graphics with animation).
Does the exporting function (fla file into animated GIF file) support actionscript?
Is there any way to solve this problem?
Thank you for your reply and help

Exporting As An Animated Gif And Using In Html
I figured out how to export a flash file as an animated gif but when I try to use it in an htm file it does not play. This is the first time trying to create an animated gif with flash. I always use swf files but have a client who cannot use them. I'm creating an email with an animated header. It works great with flash but cannot get the animated gif working.
Through the forums I learned that I can publish as an animated gif and export as an animated gif. Neither seems to work. Obviously there is another step I need to take. Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance!
Exporting SWF To Animated GIF Not Working
Hello,
I'm trying to export a swf (which I did not create) as an animated gif, but when I do this only the first frame shows up. I see in the forum others have asked this same question but I didn't see an answer that applied (I believe these are timeline animated .fla files although how do I know that or ascertain that?)
I'd really appreciate the help...
Thanks!

Exporting Animated GIF Problem
A Happy New Year to all you guys!
I have this problem:
I have a movie (a banner) and i would like to export it as an animated gif. I have read many posts regarding this problem...but with all the publish settings combinations i've tried i've ended up with a bad looking animated gif(frame rate decreased, bad looking gradients, pixelated looking, etc).
All my animations are on the main timeline( no movies...only motion tweens), i'm using Flash MX 2004 Professional.
In a post from 2 years ago oldnewbie said something about using another program(Gif Construction Set) and convert the .avi file exported from Flash into an animated gif...but it ends up with a bad looking animated gif also...
and the frame rate seems to be decreased.
Please advise.

Dragos.
Serious Problems Exporting A Movie To An Animated GIF
I'm trying to export a movie to an animated GIF and, well, the resulting file is garbage. I don't mean that it looks sub-optimal..I mean that it looks absolutely nothing like the source movie at all. I've heard from others that there are significant problems with the Flash export-to-GIF routines, but does anyone have any tips for trying to improve the situation?
Thanks.
Exporting To Animated .gif Distorting Image
Hey All -
I've created a few banners for a friend, and when I export them to animated .gif format, the border essentially disappears and the imagery that I've developed in Flash becomes slightly distorted.
Is there perhaps a setting in the export dialogue that I'm failing to set that might be causing this behavior?
I'm using Flash MX.
Thanks in advance -
Tim
Making Banner Ads In Flash - Exporting Animated Gifs
I have been trying to make an animated banner in flash to be exported as a gif, whenever I do, the quality is awful. I thought at first it was because I had too much going on i.e. too many gradients/colours etc, but as a test I drew a grey circle on white, exported that (256 colours, smooth selected) and even this does not have a smooth edge.
can anyone offer any ideas why flash is not capable of exporting a decent gif??
thanks

Create Non-animated Equivalent Of Animated Flash 8 Animation
Hi, I'm working with a template that includes Flash. It's bad enough I've never touched Flash before this project, but I have to actually work with someone else's engineering of one (I'm retrofitting a purchased template)! LOL
Anyway, all I want to do is to save a completely non-animated version of the animated version I've managed to perfect. The plan is to use it on sub-pages of our presentation so that people only have to experience the animation when they land on the page. Not when they're navigating around. I've already tried a couple of things including saving an image map version. All that did was present me with an error message that certain components weren't included, which is tentatomount to being non-usuable to me for now.
So, is there a way to tell Flash, "Hey, this looks great, now give me a static version of it with working links and everything!".
Thanks if anyone can help!

Animated SWF Is Not Animated When Included In Another Movie As A Clip
I have an SWF that, when run by itself, is an animation of a graphic equalizer display. But when I bring it into a new movie as a movie clip (I want to change the alpha, throw up some text, clear the txt, change the alpha, etc), the animation does not work, and all I get is the static images.
FLA is at http://www.black-diamond.com/flash_src/equalizer.fla if anyone wants to take a look at it. The one I am trying to bring it into is at http://www.black-diamond.com/flash_src/test3333.fla (the corresponding .swf to see what happens is at http://www.black-diamond.com/flash_src/test3333.swf ).
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Scene=preload, Layer=Layer 5, Frame=1: Line 4: You must export your movie as Flash 5 to use this expression.
objTime = new Date();
I keep on getting this error message: must export movie to flash 5, what does this mean, and how do I correct the problem?
Exporting
I've got a movie (wow).
When i press test movie my movie works 100% fine, exactly how i want it. When i export the movie and open the file it doesn't work. i just get a dot that sits there. i think the dot is part of the movie, one of the symbols.
It seems like none of the code is being included when i export it.
Is this because none of the code is being exported? If so how do i turn it on?
I also would have thought it would work because when you test movie it exports it and plays it.
Well, i hope someone can point out my stupidity to me.
Thanks.

Exporting To Cd Rom
Hi All,
I created a navigation bar in flash that has a drop down menu which will open some pdf files. I exported that as a swf to dreamweaver and all was well, UNTIL I saved it to cdrom for others to review. This site will be accessed from CDROM only and I can't figure out where to direct my geturl to so that it opens these files. I have the site set in dreamweaver to a relative site but I am lost from there.
Can anyone help me PLEASE.

Exporting .avi
Everytime I try to export the .fla to .avi it gives me a message saying that there was an error and it was unable to create the file. It actually worked once bofre, but when tried again or at another computer it failed . Is there smoething wrong with the codecs we are using?
I am trying to get this "animation" into video Factory 2.0 and if there is a way around the .avi that would also help. Bottom line...help me export.
Exporting As Avi
I started making a flash based narrative animation for my AVCE course by creating characters seperately, then adding them as movie clips over animated backgrounds. When i hand it in it would be best if it is an avi so that it can be put onto VHS, via an editing computer, for a film showcase.
The problem is that the movie clips don't run when exported as an avi. Is there anyway around this or will i have to hand in the SWF file? Any help would be much appreciated, cheers.
Swf Exporting
Hi can someone tell me how to set the publish seting for a swf.

Exporting Eps
I'm not sure this is the right forum, but hopefully someone knows the answer.
A few months ago I came across a tutorial explaining how to export an image from a flash movie (at runtime) in .eps format. Now I can find no sign of it anywhere. I know it included exporting the image as a text file and the user changing the suffix to .eps by hand, (which sort of implies that it is in fact a print spool file), but I don't know where to start.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
thanks in advance

Exporting AVI
Hi,
I've built an animation using a song and some pictures that changes acording to the timeframe of that song. I've positioned everything so the animation looks fine and follows that song. When exporting to EXE or SWF, the animation looks fine but when exporting to AVI, the animation is faster then the song. Is there a way to fix that... Please help me I need to create a VCD in a week...

Exporting A Swf From A Swf?
hey just wondered if anyone knows if there is a way to create swfs from inside flash? like if you could somehow create/export a swf from a movie clip created dynamically or manually in a flash swf at runtime?
thanks for any help or leads.
Exporting As .mov
Hows it going folks. Ok I wanted to export my Flash movie as a Quicktime .mov. Kept getting that error message at the start but upon further investigation on the macromedia site I discovered that it need to be converted to a flash player 4 file as quick time currently only supports flashplayer4.
Anyway I did that and it worked however it has caused problems with how my animation plays which I am assuming is due to the F.P4 conversion.
Can anybody help me with this problem. Surely all Flash movies arent converted to F.P 4 inorder to play as .mov?
Thanks
Exporting As .avi
I have a big final project for a video technology class and I have worked very hard in Flash combining animation with live action and such. When the time came to export it as a .avi (to give it some finishing touches in video editing software and also to meet the requirement), the .avi file came out all messed up. It shows pictures but it wont animate them accordingly, its hard to explain but its almost like a slideshow without transitions.
How do I fix this? I'm desperate this project was due today.
