Hi there, I am new in this forum and i need some help uegently here. I downloaded a movie by Jesse Stratford titled "Load Then Grow v1" and here is the link http://www.actionscript.org/showMovie.php?id=754

The movie clip size will changes according to the size of the JEPG that are loaded in a simple growing animation manner. I find this is really a good and nice way to showcase my works of various sizes in my personal website.
However, I am not very good in actionscript, I am really confused when I look at the script, I would like to ask if anyone out there can help me please?

Here are are my questions:

The movie changes in size too slow, which part of the script can i change to altered to the speed i like?

When I click on the second button while the first jpg is still loading, the movie clip will load in the second jpg but with the 1st jpg size, how do i solve that?

It will be great if anyone has a better version.

Auto Resize Image To Movie Clip Size?
How can i make a movieclip load an external .jpg image and resize the image to fit the moviclip? or set the image to a certain size like 50x50 pixels? The movieclip is called "image".

I've put the code below inside the moveclip on frame 1 and that loads the image, but how can i resize it?

Auto-Resize Image In XML/FLASH
Hey there,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to auto-resize an image in flash/xml. I have a flash slideshow that is loading an external xml file with images, but would like the images to appear no larger than a certain size in flash. I'm not really sure if it would be better to do this in flash or in the xml file. I have tried setting a fixed width and height within the xml file with no luck (it is still displaying the image at its original size in flash).

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank-you for reading!

Resize Flash Movie, Make HTML Page Also Resize?
Hi All Flashkitters

I'm trying to do something that I believe is probably pretty simple and I'm guessing it involves some Javascript along with the Actionscript.

It's like on Fantasy Interactive's website, when you click on different sections of the site, the Flash container movie resizes, and makes the HTML page also resize vertically, to be able to scroll the content. Does anyone know how to acheive this? Its a handy function, I'd love to master it. It opens a big door for building flash sites that can hold real content.

So, anyone can point me in the right direction, I am greatful to.

Auto Resize
Hello!

I am very new to this site, but I followed the tutorial here on how to create a photo slide show and found it very useful. It does everything I need to do, except one.

The photos that are being called into the .swf are all very large, and I would like a way to auto resize them when they are loaded. Can anyone out there write a quick addendum to the tutorial and show me how to do this? It would really help.

hi guys this is general question?

I need to make flash page with the auto resize.

this works fine with 100% giving on the HTML.
But when it resize the flash file. The contents inside the flash file gets shrink or squeeze. which doesn't looks good.

What if i made the flash contents made completely on the vector files. how do i make it auto resize for all browser, and inside the flash contents will also resize. Everything gets auto resize according to the browser.

Auto-Resize Banner
I am working on a banner for a website of mine. I was wondering if there is a way to auto resize the banner when the screen is minimized/maximized to show the full banner at ANY screen resolution above 800x600. Any ideas?! Anything would be helpful. Also I have created a .lbi file for a top menu which hopefully i can use with it. As the bottem portion that you can see is where the links will go.

Gabocorp Auto Resize
Hi,

The .swf in this site http://www.gabocorp.com/bumper.4/ is automatically resized with the browser, as if you were just viewing the .swf without the .html in a browser. Can someone tell me how they accomplished this, I can't even find an embed tag.

i'm trying to get my main page which contains a flash movie on it to resize to max. size depending on resolution of the screen. now i have a behavior to open a new window with no border and no scroll off of my splash screen(welcome) that opens(RT332) window.
i cann't seem to figure out if you need to attach it to the behavior on the splash screen. or attach it to the mainpage html.

Auto-resize For Browsers?
Hey all,

Question: How do I set up my site so that it automatically fits into a browser window, whether a person is running their screen at 1024x768 or 800x600?

I have some pictures on my main page that will get cut off a bit in a smaller browser window, and I don't want that.

I messed around with the publish settings, but when I test it there is no difference.

Window Auto Resize
Hope someone here can help me becuase I have been spending hours and hours of wasted time with trying to get my html and dhtml links to open a new window at a certain size. The problem I am running into is the newer browsers or what ever pop-up window programs that run on people's machines prevent my site's new sized window from popping up.
So I thought I could link to a regular blank new html page and have code in that page that would redirect you right away to my terms.htm page centering, sized, and with no tool bar.
Is this possible?

Hi I am creating a Photo Gallery with XML in Flash MX 2004 Pro. It all works great except for images that are smaller than the emptyMC specified parameters of 300px X 300px. If you have vertical or odd-shaped images they load in the upper left corner which indicates something about registration. If the jpg's are loading dynamically via XML, then is registration even an issue?

My question is two-fold:

Does the auto-center and/or auto-resize code need to be in the XML file or in Flash AS?

Where does the code go and what do I need to specify?

Getting Swf To Auto Resize In Browser
I am building a website with MX. I was told that swf files would automatically
resize themselves to fit within the browser
This is apparently not the case.
Dose anyone know how to make the swf files do this? is there a way to embed this behavior before the swf is published? Colud teh problem be on my index page? That page is an HTML file. ther rest of the site are swf.

Auto Resize A Caption
Yes another bloody auto resize question.

I'm hoping this one will be fairly simple though - I just can't see it. I took a resizing prototype function from the compiled fla in the resizing slideshow thread (found here, post #171) and combined it with the concepts from the hover caption tutorial on kirupa. But instead of creating a dynamic text box in the hover movie clip I am creating the text dynamically using createTextField and then autosizing it using textfield.autoSize = true (didn't seem to work when I used "left"). When you use createTextField you have to specify a width and height. The autoSize command seems to dynamically resize the textfield in height but not in width. When running a trace the width is always the same though the height changes.

Is there any way around this? Some of my captions will be quite short and will look really stupid sitting in a long colored box it doesn't need.

Auto Resize Of Window Help
I went to this site, have to find it again, lost the url, still looking,
but
a window opened up in the center of the monitor,
small, about 400 by 350... a flash movie played,
then it loaded another movie, and the screen, like, wiggled, and expanded horizontally, then vertically to accomidate the size of the new movie, it was way awesome,
Has anyone seen that or know how to do it?

Auto-resize Of Jpgs
Hello!

I'm having a fair bit of difficulty having an image automatically resize to fit inside a movieclip. The movieclip is a set size, but the image still expands over it. The pictures ARE bigger than the movie clip itself, but I thought they were supposed to automatically scale down. ;_;

I've been using the code from http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/photogallery.htm. All that's basically changed is the pictures.

First the loader creation:

say you make a movie in flash @ 800 x 500 pixels, when you import it into dreamweaver, how do you make it so it always plays in full screen ??? when i import my 'swf file into d/w & F12 review it, it just sits in the middle of the screen with white edges around it. HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
