Loading A Movie From A Movie On Main Timeline, To A Specific Frame On Main Time Line
I need help loading a movie from a button in a movie on the main timeline. To a specific frame on the main timeline.
i.e. I have a navigation movie, in it is a load of buttons. I want to load separate movies to a blank movie on a specific frame on the main timeline.
I guess I am having target problems, I can load the movie in the main timeline, but not the frame i want it or the the blank movie in that frame.

Im using MX 2004 and Ive got a bunch of text in a scrollpane. As the document nears the end there is a dynamic text link to a movie on a seperate swf. I want to know if/how I can jump back to the specific line in the scrollpane where the viewer had left off. Is it possible to target a position when using scrollpane or should I be using something else? Any help is very much so appreciated,

Link To A Specific Line In Scrolling Text
I need a little help from the pro's...

I am using Flash MX 2004 and I have pages opening as external swf's. In one of my movie clip pages I have 5 paragraphs of dynamic scrolling text and I have a link at the end of the forth paragraph which will take you to a little animated movie. My problem is that I need the user to be able to click on a link after they have viewed the animation which will then take them to the start of the fifth pargraph on the scrolling text bar. My assumption is that I need to "key" a part of the fifth paragraph but I can't seem to get it to work. Any help is very appreciated! Thank you!

Link Movie To A Specific Frame
I have my main movie (ex: main.swf) which has a multiple of scenes contained within it. In one of the scenes, I have a button that loads another separate movie (ex: contact.swf) over it. Once that movie is loaded, you can click on a button that will take you back to the main movie. My problem that I have is, when you click the button to go back to the main movie, it will start the main movie from frame 1, scene 1. I want to have it so when you click on the button, it will take you back to the main movie, but go to a specific frame in scene 1 and stop. Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

I have a frameset with two frames. The top frame has a flash movie that acts as navigation. The bottom frame has the page content and text links at the bottom. The flash navigation works great. However, I would like to sync up the bottom text link menu with the flash menu. How can I get text links (hyperlink, html link) to target a flash movie and make it jump to a specific frame?

Basically, I'm about to build a site where I want to go directly to his "news" section in the swf movie I'm creating.

What I'd like to do is have a link in an email that goes directly to the flash site and advances to the frame I want.
In this case (for instance) it would be- "http://www.mysite.com".
The movie would be called "myflash.swf", and the frame would be called "newsroom"

Plus, I'm using SWF object in a CSS "dead center" page. Does this have to be in the query some how? Will it effect it?

Should the variable be called something like var newsframe = what?

And the link in the email should read http://www.mysite.com/index.htm?myflash.swf=newsroom ??

External Link Goes To Specific Frame
Hello All

I have my first Flash site up and running, and threads and tutorials on this forum have been a great help. Up until now I have had time to plod through problems and so far nothing I wanted to do has proved too difficult.
But now I'm stuck.
What I have is a small gif file I want to distribute to a number of websites to act as an advert for a product on my site. However, when potential visitors click on the gif, I want the browser to go to my site and then the swf file to go to a specific frame (7, to be precise!). I thought at first I would use the asfunction, however after a couple of hours of experimenting and digging on the web, I'm thinking its going to need javascript. Any ideas befor I start working out the js?!? Much appreciated in advance.

How To Load An External Swf And Tell It To Go To A Specific Frame At The Same Time?
I need to load an external swf and tell it to go to a specific frame at the same time in the same script. I have:

stop();

loadMovie("slideshow.swf",1);

_level1.gotoAndPlay("outro")

but the _level1 script has no effect, the movie loads and starts from frame one no matter how I tweak the code...

is there any way to do this?

I'm wondering if it's possible to have a link on a html page pass information to a new html page w/ a .swf file and tell a movieclip to go to a certain frame.

For example:
If my html page has link "A", link "B" and link "C" and
my flash movie embedded on a different HTML page has a movieclip with three frames labeled "A"., "B" and "C" If I click link "B" on the html page can I have the swf load and tell the movieclip to play "B"?

I'd rather not build the entire site in flash if at all possible. I thought I could pass a variable w/ javascript and have the swf look for that variable when it loads...

hi all, this is for FLASH 5.

i have just completed a flash intensive site that uses many popup windows. i used the extention easy popup windows 2.1 smart clip and relised today that if i use the same window name for the link it will not open another popup win if it is already within a window with the same name, cool as someone said there are too many pesky popups.

So i will have a section and all other pages in that section in a popup window named whatever...

my problem...

at the beginging of a section i have an intro, now if the user clicks the link in the next page to return to the main section page it plays the intro again, this sux as you can only see it so many times!

how do i make the button return to the main section page but only to a specific frame so this won't occur ???

i have five images, representing five steps. image one is fine because it links to an html page with the swf file on it and the movie opens and plays starting at step one.

but my second image needs to go the the swf file step2 (frame label) and not to the beginning of the movie to play.

Hello. Does anyone know how to link to an html page with an swf file on it and have the swf open up to a certain frame number or frame label? as oppossed to opening at the beginning.

I divided my swf into five parts and i'm representing those parts on an html page and i have to have each part open to its corresponding section in the flash movie instead of just opening up the flash movie at the beginning.

Hey there. I'm building a web site using Flash MX. Is it possible to have a link on an external button directed to a specific frame label in the SWF? So that when the button is clicked, it will not play the entire movie, but just go to the particular frame label or scene?

If I have one html page with several links, and a second one with a flash movie:

In page one:

Link1 (opens page two and flash file but starts the movie in frame1)

Link 2 (opens page two and flash file but starts the movie in frame2)

Link 8 (opens page two and flash file but starts the movie in frame8)

My question is: how can I make a dinamic link to a page containing the movie, but opening the movie in a specific frame past by the URL???

Directing To Specific Frame / Label From An Outside Link?
I have a slide show style SWF setup with various graphics for a photographer client of mine. He has requested that people be able to send a link to a friend to go straight to a specific image (in this case frame/label). Any suggestions on how I could do this without having to make an enourmous amount of extra pages for people to direct link to? It should be something like...

...but where I want to get linked to another file in frame 8.
Do I just simply rewrite _root to something else?

I have a web site that is mostly flash. However - I am also using mambo for content management for non-flash pages that are part of the same site. I can click a link in the flash movie that will take my browser to the specific html page, no problem - but is it possible to do the reverse - have the html link goto the flash?
For instance: I would like in the html page a link that goes specifically to 'frame 100' of the flash movie that loads the 'contact' flash form. Is it possible to link to a html page that contains the flash movie and have it goto that specific frame?
I would like this to be seamless in the same browser. Right now I have the flash popup the html pages for those specific links.

I'm trying to get a imported .wmv movie (Progressive download from a web server) that once it finish playing to jump to a particular "labeled" frame on the main flash time line.

I'm trying by using a cue point called "End" at the end of the movie, with a function that say something like:

if(cuePointName == "End"){
gotoAndPlay("name");
}

but I can't get it to work

Has any one done this before? any other idea of how to get flash to listen to a imported movie so when it get's to the end, a function will start playing a particular "labeled frame" in the main flash movie time line?

Using Time-line In A Button.
Hi Wizards

I want to have an image fading in and fading out in the over stage,

I have a background image here:

I reduced opacity since it is a background, but now I want to allow people see the clear picture if they want to. Maybe adding pictures as well.

All this I want to happened in the button “over stage”, and as the mouse curser is removed I want my faded background image back.

Question is:
How do I add multiple timelines under the over stage in a button?
