I've been looking a little on the calender component in Flash MX2004.
My question is, can you make it possible so that the user can select several days and not just one????

When I posted a question before in ultrashock.com forums, a person told me that there is a calender component in Flash MX for which I don't have to know actionscripting. Unfortunately he did not tell me how to get it. Since I am new, can anyone tell me how to bring the calender component in the scene?

Calender Component And ActionScript?
Does anyone know how I can use the calender component in my form so that a user clicks a link in the form,
the calender pops up,
user clicks a date,
then the calender automatically closes and the date selected is entered in a textfield on the form.
I can only find info on using the calender component with ColdFusion, but I connot use CF.
Can it be done with ActionScript instead?

Spark Calender Component.
I'm currently working on making a simple flash blog and I'm using "Spark calendar Component". (You can find it here http://sparkos.com/downloads/components/eventscalendar/ )
And I to thick to figure out why it won’t work. Eventually I’m going to use it to load external movies based on the date. For the purpose of testing I have two dates active the 1st and the 12th when ether of these is pressed they send info to a textfield that they have been pressed, which works fine. :)
There is also a movie clip on the stage this has 3frames. The 1st is set to gotoAnStop on frame 2 and the 12th is set to gotoAnStop on 3. It doesn’t matter which of these is pressed the movie clip jumps straight to frame 3. I’ve clearly messed it up somewhere along the way but I haven’t a clue were.

Date Chooser(calender )component
hi all
i want to use the date chooser for a booking system and i want to set the dates on the calender to three values, fully booked, partially booked and free.
my problem is how do i set these dates to different colours

Hi peepz,
I's there a way of using the DateField component to select a block of dates in the calender component?
so lets say I make one DateField the start date and another DateField the end date, then i select 15th jan as start date and 19th jan as end date can i get the calneder component to display my start and end date as a hiligthed block of dates?

Display Calender With User's Birthday Using FCalendar Component.

I am using the FCalendar component on a page.
What I am trying to do, when opening a flashform, is to display an intial default date on the calendar.
e.g. the birthdate of someone must be set as value on the calendar as appossed to the current date.

I want to track fmx2004 scrollPane Component,.. and remove it,.. before i unload movie!! because when i uload movie that had SP componet it leaves somehing behind (in my _root),.. and becuase of that my FP7 craches whan i load new movie with same componet!!

[FMX2004] Tree Component Question
I am using the Tree component to display a hiearchy of links I have defined in an xml document. I followed the example shown in the documentation to do this and it works fine.
Now I'm trying to tweak the appearances further... My question is how to make a specific leaf appear inactive... I see that the Tree is derived from the List class which has a styles such as selectionDisabledColor and disabledColor
which leads me to believe this is possible. The List class is derived from the ScrollSelectList class and i can't find any documentation on this class.
Any advice would be great! thanks a lot.

I can skin it with "mx.styles.CSSStyleDeclaration" so that the caracter and size, color etc changes.
Then I also use falseUpSkin and falseOverSkin to change the moving pieces.
But my question is, how can I set the color for the labels, I want that the active has one color and the inactive has another color..

ok...
finally got the calender sorted the way I want it...
ignore the layouts in the attached files and missing keyframes, no preloader etc...(i've deleted these in the attached file to save on file size for this attachment...)
what happens is when i test the home.swf movie on its own...all the dates in the xml file show up...
however, when i test from my home page, (and so the "home.swf" wuld be loaded onto level 3 of my main movie, the dates dont show up...
if you download the .zip folder...Click the home.swf to see the correct way it should work...Then if you click on the main4.swf, and you'll see what happens...
i suspect its just a path thing, where i havent changed what level its loads in, etc...but i've checked that, and nothing happens...
please please please would someone take a look for me???

Dynamic Calender
Could anyone help with an idea I have had but I am having trouble with actually making work. I have a calender that is set out on named frames jan, feb, mar, and so on. What I want it to do is to go to the appropriate month every time a user loads the calender movie so for example if you were to view it now it would go to November? any ideas welcome,

Interactive Calender
I'm currently workin on a site for a game I play and am tryin to make an interactive calender that members can sign out a server for use. And after it's signed out by someone another person can't sign out the same time frame. I'm not sure how to do this and I was wondering if maybe someone could point me in the right direction maybe a tutorial or something to help me get started.

Calender Help For This Newbie Please....
I have a calender. I want to store the days which have some schedule as a separate swf file and call it whenever that day is pressed. For eg. there is some event in january 01 2003. When user clicks jan 01 the 01-01-03.swf will be displayed.
That part is working right now. But how can I disable the mouse when it is placed on days which doesn't have any schedule like the calender in www.flashlevel.com
Right now my calender shows error whenever a day without schedule is pressed.
Or how can I show "there is nothing here" like the www.superhere.net calender does, whenever a day without schedule is pressed? Do I need to have separate swfs for all the days in that case?
Somebody please help. breaking my head for more than a week to solve this.
Please have the two files in the same folder and try.

Hi Guys, i'm trying to create a simple weekly calender.
its suppose to have 7 text boxes to show the dates from monday to sunday.
and 2 buttons or something similiar to allow viewing of different weeks.
My problem is that.. the way i am doing it only allows to view the weeks in acsending order. if view the week in the decending order.. errors will occur with the dates. Is there any ways to overcome this problem??

An Updating Calender
I'm making a full year calender for a site. All i want is for the current day to be lit up in some manner.
Is there a code that can tell what day it is and command say a movie clip to be present on top of that day in the calender?
All the days are gonna be individual roll overs movie clips or buttons. So the glow will probably be a movie clip itself or maybe be toggled by all the roll overs having a frame 1 and frame 2 (unlit/lit) and the code would reference if the day corresponded to the name of the movie clip (movie clip would be like D2 = day2)...then proceed to frame 2 of it's movie clip (lit).
Ideas on the easiest way to do this and if the code is even possible?

I'm working on a flash calendar for this musician guy's site. And I'm working on the code that tells the movie what the first day of the month is. And so far, it seems as though I need to program each month of each year's first day in with it's own if statement. Not fun.
I was wondering if anyone knew of or could help me come up with a script that will calculate the first day of the month.
It can calculate the first day as a number, that would be preffered actually.
1 = Sunday
2 = Monday
3 = Tuesday
4 = Wednesday
5 = Thursday
6 = Friday
7 = Saturday
Lucky for us, we have the advantage of the first day of January 2006 being Sunday, or 1.
Please help, I don't want to have to program this much code
Also, is there a way to check if a number will divide evenly into another, for example 2004/4 would divide equally, but 2005/4 would not.

I'm trying to create a calender which has sliding boxes on the top which are representative of the days of the week, these boxes slide off the stage.
what i'm having problems with is getting these boxes once they slide off the stage to move to the opposite side of the stage and continue to move within the parameters that i've created.

Whats happening is once the boxes pass -60 x coordinates they move to the opposite side of the stage like they are suppose to. but they don't move they get stuck there.
I've spent a few hours racking my brain on this if somebody could offer me some assistance that would be wonderful.

[FMX]Calender Thingy~
Hi there,
Am a lingo person, trying out actionscript, help me out here.
I did this thingy in lingo where my main is a calender which checks the directory it's in for files (movies) with dates as its name, and updates accordingly and automatically. So all i have to do is just make a new movie and give it a date name and place it in the right folder, and my main's calender will show a new clickable entry.
Anyone done this with actionscript before? Or anyone knows how?
I am thinking, 2 main scripting method needed,
1, to search and input files found in the directory into the main swf.
2, to output the information into the calender and loads it when clicked.

I am trying to create a monthly calender that will display highlighted dates when something has been scheduled for that day, and will display a rollout of the scheduled event when the date is clicked.
I have writen enough of the code to get a resizable calender on the screen with current month, year and the days of the week header.
Would anybody be interested in giving some insight as how to get the actual days to display with the with schedeuled dates highlighted and clickable.
I would be more than happy to provide any and all source code.

I downloaded a scheduler/calender from this site's backend integration section. It seems to be a 2001 calender. I am looking for a 2002 calender. I dont know actionscripting or cgi/perl. Can sombeody tell me how to customize it for my 2002 needs or where I can find a similar calender with scheduler, which is not much complicated for a newbie like me.

In the calender component for flash MX, how would I make a simple link from a day ex. June 5, 2002 to load up something in an Iframe on the same page. Basically, from flash I need to define the url and the target. Thanks!
