Transparent Background & Transparent Color In Flash Player
Hi...
I know I can make the main _root background transparent by adding awmode = transparent property to the html embedding code. But what if I want more complex effects... it´s easier if you see what I´m trying to do... visit this URL and note the flash animation -> www.chapeco-online.com.br/test . It has a transparent background and a little fade in effect done by a simple motion tweening... what if I want to motion tween from a transparent color (so the html background shows up) instead of white? Is that possible?
Thanks in advance,
Marcelo.

Transparent Background In Flash 5?
Thanks to Ask the Geezer for trying to help me out, but hopefully someone else may be more familiar with Flash 5. Can I retain the transparent background of an image I made in Corel into Flash? If so, how?
I have an image that is oddly shaped and 1/3 of the image needs to be transparent to overlap another image. When I import it into Flash, it turns the background white and I cannot overlap the 2 images seamlessly. I have tried to import as jpg, png and just copy and paste, but nothing is working. Can anyone help? Is this possible? Thanks!

Flash CS3 Transparent Background
O.k. I have been trying for weeks on this project but I know it can be done. I shot a subject in front of a green screen and he wants a Flash movie of just him (the subject) and no background. I told him it could be done. I shot a 1 mintue video using the old DV rack to make the green screen fairly good. I imported the avi clip to Premiere Pro 2 and used the chromakey ( Color key on some tries) to remove the green screen whereas the background was black. I saved it and exported it as a quicktime movie, animation compressor codec, millions of colors square pix. Then I used Flash CS3 and imported the video to the library by On2 VP6 codec with the alpha channel selected. I created two layers, layer 1 a jpeg image. I highlighted layer 2, dragged the FLV playback to the stage and made sure layer 2 was about layer 1. I saved and tested it but the background is still there. I have tried several ways; saved a flash file from Premiere Pro2 and imported it with CS3 Flash encoder following the same steps. I even loaded and older version of PPro 1.0 and followed a tutorial exactly. The FLV plays well but I can't see the image from layer 1 because the background is black and not transparent. All I want is a transparent background where the subject is there without a background. I have Ultra 2, Visual Communicator, I can make a background of anything but I can't seem to make a background transparent!
Sorry for the long post but I have been at this for days. I have posted this on three other forums (one of which I pay a monthy fee for expert service) that all tell me to do the same thing. I know it must be something small but somebody would be my hero if they could help me with this one! Thank you - Art

[CS3] Change Flash Background To Transparent
I don't know if you know about the "Music Button player" from this site
http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/
if you go to that link you will see a play button. They have the source code available to download and I was wondering how to change the background of that "Music Button Player" the background is the color outside of the gray color circle, not the color inside of the gray circle. As of now, it's white. I would like to be transparent.

Transparent Background For Flash Video
I would like to learn how to create Flash video with transparent background. This allows video to be played over a web page so that the web page content shows through the alpha channel of the video. I can edit video in Adobe AfterEffects to produce the .flv file with an alpha channel that can be exported into Flash 8. But when I import into Flash 8 and create the .swf file, Flash provides an opaque background (I choose the color). I want to be able to keep the transparency effect I created in AfterEffects.
Here is a URL for the effect I would like to achieve:
http://eimpression.myrealtytools.com
The video will appear anchored to the bottom of the page. This is a very cool effect that I would like to be able to reproduce. I am guessing it may require some actionscript to regulate the alpha of the background. Any help in understanding this would be greatly appreciated.

Transparent Background For Flash Animation
Hello,
I am very new to flash and webdesign. my questions is how do i make my flash animation have a transparent background so that the background color of the website shows up through the flash canvas?
Kirupa's tutorial says I can:
Go to File | Publish Settings. The Publish Settings dialog box will appear. Click the HTML tab. You should notice a drop-down menu labeled Window Mode. Click the Window Mode drop-down menu and select Transparent Windowless.
Then:
Go to File | Publish. Copy and paste the HTML code generated by Flash into a Web page containing a different background. Notice that the spaces in which the stage was visible in Flash is now filled with the background color of the Web page instead of the background color set in Flash!
Here is my resulting HTML codes but what exactly do I copy?
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

Controlling Website Through Transparent Flash Background...
Hi my name is Baz, I'm building a website for a mates pub, he wanted a sample menu adding, which I've done, and it works perfectly well in IE7. It can be seen here:
http://www.thewhitehorsechurton.com/pages/menu.php
The physical size of the flash movie is quite large, it doesn't look it at first glance, but when I turned the page on the menu, if the page moved outside of the boundaries of the flash movie, it would obviously not show the part that went outside the invisible boundary. So I have to make the physical size much larger, and give it a transparent background. The movie goes over the top of the websites menu system, which I thought might be a problem, but was pleasantly suprised when I checked it in IE7 it worked fine...however in FF and in Opera, it doesn't want to work, and has the effect of disabling my websites menu system. Any ideas how I can fix that?
Another problem is that at the bottom of every page on the site I have added a footer, yet on this page the footer just won't show up for some reason.
My other problem which is not flash related but thought I may aswell say it on the off chance someone knows...my websites menu system works fine in all browsers, except in Opera, it's placed slightly too far to the right and slightly lower than on all other browsers making it look odd, any ideas would be greatfully received!
Thanks in advance for your help guys
P.S.: I know there are spelling mistakes on the front page and the pages aren't too easy to read, I'll sort that out later, just want to get it running right first.

Importing Video Into Flash --- Can I Get A Transparent Background?
I am using Flash CS3. I am importing a Quicktime video into Flash through File > Import > Import Video.
Here's the problem, though. I need this video to be transparent. It appears that all videos imported into this method have a black background. It makes sense, because usually the video fills out the entire black area. However, with a video that needs to be transparent, the black background shows through.
This movie will basically lay over a webpage, so the content, graphics of the site would be visible behind the video.
What I'm trying to accomplish is very similar to what you see at the bottom of this page: http://rovion.com/Showcase/1800Flowers_demo.htm
We've worked out the technology, however using the File > Import > Import video method adds a black background to the Flash file, rendering it solid, not transparent.
Is there a way to remove this so the transparency is active?
Thanks for any advice.
Mark

Flash Losing Background When Wmode='transparent'
hi all,
having a small problem where my flash is not retaining it's background.
i've inserted flash with use of swfobject js and i've set wmode to transparent.
Code:
script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars = {};
var params = {};
params.menu = "false";
params.quality = "best";
params.scale = "noscale";
params.bgcolor = "#ffffff";
params.wmode = "transparent";
params.allowfullscreen = "true";
swfobject.embedSWF("main.swf", "return-home", "125", "290", "9", false, flashvars, params);
</script>
when i load up the HTML in the browser, the white background i have in my flash movie dissapears, leaving only the text. I've set the white block as a graphic object.... still no luck. it keeps dissapearing.
my CSS on my flash div is:
Code:
div#return-home {
z-index: 2000!important;
float: left;
}
div#return-home { overflow: hidden;}
div#return-home:hover { overflow: visible; }
HTML is simply the require DIV... <div id="return-home">alt conetnt</div>
Any ideas? thanks a bunch

Image W/ Transparent Background Imported To Flash MX
Hi there. What I'm tring to do is something that would seem very basic and easy, but I'm still having problems.
I'm just typing out a word in Photoshop. Then applying a slight bevel to it, a slight glow, and a slight drop shadow. My problem is that when I save it as a gif (must have a transparent background), and import it to Flash, it looks terrible. The glow and dropshadow are pretty much eliminated, and the letters look all choppy.
I need the word (which is part of the nav) to have a transparent background so I can make it into a symbol (movie), and apply a tween while using the advanced color option to make the word gradually glow when rolled over, and gradually fade back to normal on rolloff.
I know this is possible, because I've seen it done. I actually have an .fla from a designer who's done it - but I have no way to contact him.
Anyone have some advice? Thanks much!

Transparent Background/ XML Code To Change The Background Colour
Hi,
In a bit of a pickle here; I need a way to insert a swf file into any color background website, so it automatically matches up.
Now, can one make the swf files background transparent? And match the background of any given websites background?
Or, can one use some sort of XML file and simply change this xml file to match the background color of the website?
Now, what if the website uses a particulare pic background? How would one match this?
As usual folks, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, so any help deeply apprecaiteed!
Kind Regards,

How Would I Go About Creating A Movie With A Transparent Background N Import In Flash
Hello,
I would like to create animated 3d object, and use it within my flash. I was thinking of using blender3d.org to create a moving arm.
However I have no idea how I would make it have a transparent background, so i can put it in flash.
I'm not even sure if this is possible and i've been googling for hours. What program would be needed, and what would the process be to create a 3d object... and import it into flash with a transparent background?
I want the object to move over content in the flash, but in my mind i invision the 3d object inside of a solid square, and thats not what I want.
If anyone could point me into the right direction on what to search for, or where to begin... that would be great...
Thank you in advance

Transparent Background And Going Outside The Original Flash Boundaries With Flash
Alright I made a post last week about this... how I've been seeing sites with flash that had transparent backgrounds... like one where a flash caterpillar flew across the screen... I found a site where the flash commercial just expanded when I put my mouse over it... The dimensions slowly turned from about 500x200 to about 500x600...
The site is here hopefully the advertisement is still there
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,20706043-2,00.html
I've been looking into something called Flash with alpha channel recently I believe this is how these guys are doing it. Once again I'm not 100% sure but if anyone knows about this post some information. Maybe list some sites with some good alpha channel information.
