Export Quicktime Movie
I'm not getting sound when i export a quicktime movie, yes I have enabled the sound in the dialog box. I do not have the original movie file for the fla, or is there a better way to get a flv? I was thinking of just exporting as a .mov and then converting that.
Thanks
Corey
How Do Export A Quicktime Movie As FLV?
How do export a Quicktime movie as FLV? I looked in Flash help and it says that I should "start the Flash Video Encoder application." Does this application come with Flash 8? Or do I need to buy it?

Cannot Export Quicktime Movie
When I try to export a Quicktime movie from the Export>Export Movie, I get this error message:
Error creating Flash movie file.
Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long.
A few things I've tested:
• Saving to different drives - all of which are not locked.
• changing the file name to one single word followed by .mov
• saving the flash file as a new file and trying again
• opening the file on a different machine and exporting
None of these have fixed the problem. Every time I get the same error.
I've been able to export swf movies and also JPEG sequences, but I'd much rather be able to export the Quicktime movie since I need to bring this into FCP and the Flash movie has sound in it as well, so with the JPEG sequence I'd have to lay in the audio again.
Any ideas? Is this a... BUG?!
Thanks for any help!

Movie Clips And Quicktime Export
i noticed this mentioned in another thread about how using graphic symbols instead would allow me to export to quicktime. i have a lengthy animation that uses movie clips and you can guess how horrible it looked when i tried to export to a mov file.
my questions:
1) if i had used graphic symbols instead of movie clips would it exprt correctly? i have movie clips inside movie clips inside movie clips sometimes. (eg. character moving > arm moving on him > thing in hand moving) i wasn't using actionscript to ref. clips at this time.
2) if i do insert scripts to manually load the mc's will flash export them into the mov?
thank-you.
Quicktime Movie Export Into Final Cut/ae
Using a Mac, I did this before but forgot how. I want to export a flash animation I did as an uncompresed Quicktime movie which I can bring into Final Cut Pro or AE which is scalable and DOES NOT become pixelated when scaled. I'm using Flash 5 on a mac system. I know the Quicktime file should be large, not 25kb-256kb, but in MB if done correctly. I';ve tried it about 10 differant ways. Some look fine at first, but are not when scaled.
Thanks for any help

Quicktime Movie Export From Flash CS3 Is Skipping Frame.
When I try to export Quicktime movie from Flash CS3, the resulting mov file is skipping frames. i.e.: The movie is showing frame number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 7, 10, 11, 12, 12, 12, 15 etc...
As you can see the frame number 7 is repeated 3 times and frame 8 and 9 are nowhere to be found.
The last configuration I used is 960x540, Sorenson video 3 medium quality, 25 fps, keyframe every 25 frames. 6400 kbits/s.
I tried various configurations, with different codecs and even with keyframe all frames and I always get simillar problems.
Anyone have an idea what is going on, and how to fix this?
Thank you,
Olivier.

[F8] QuickTime Won't Export To Flv
hi.. My QT Pro can't export to flv. Strangely, there is no such option! it seems that I have the simliar problem described here: http://board.flashkit.com/board/sho...t=quicktime+flv
Could anyone please guide me where I can find the plug-in and where exactly I should copy it? Thanx.
Can I Only Export To Quicktime?
So I did an animation in Flash which has some actionscript-based movement in it.
It is 15 frames per second. When I export it to Quicktime, I choose 15 frames per second. When I import the file into the destination program, it says it is 15.15 frames per second. And when I go through the quicktime video frame by frame, I can see a bunch of parts where it's blending frames. I don't want blended frames.
I could easily export it as a series of images, which avoids the problems with blended frames, but then it won't run the actionscript.
Can't Export To Quicktime
So I've go a simple frame with a square on it and want to export to Quicktime movie. Then I get this error:
"Quicktime does not support Adobe Flash tracks beyond Flash version 5"
So I go to the publish settings and change the version to flash player 5 and try again. Then I get this error:
"Quicktime does not support Adobe Flash tracks beyond Flash version 5"
Setting it to flash player 1:
"Quicktime does not support Adobe Flash tracks beyond Flash version 5"
What gives? Why won't it export such a simple flash movie to quicktime .mov?
I've got the latest Quicktime 7.4 and Flash 8.
Export SWF To Quicktime/AVI
I'm trying to export an SWF to a Quicktime or AVI Movie but some of my Actions aren't working.

Quicktime Export Problem
In Flash MX, I just tried to export - and publish - a .fla file as a QT .mov. I received the following error message:
"The installed version of QuickTime does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia Flash movie. Please consult the documentation for further information." Which documentation? QT? Flash MX? I have QT Pro 5.0.2 installed. Can someone please tell me what to do about this? Thanks in advance.

Export To Quicktime To Imovie
Ok, I'm able to export to quicktime by dropping my Flash version to 5. When I do the .mov plays blank, then I have to push rewind to actually play the animation. Obviously, this doesn't work when I try to drop it into iMovie. I then tried to convert that .mov to a .dv but the quality of that is a joke. I've also tried exporting to .avi but there's only a black screen.
-Is there anything else I can try to get a normal .mov that will play in iMovie?
-so far my only success has been bringing all my movclips to scene1, but thats going to take for ever to reposition everything.
thanks for your help

Framerate Lag/quicktime Export
so i'm creating a flash cartoon at 30 fps and when testing my movie my framerate is painfully laggy at high quality. seems like a hardware issue but is something i never experienced with cs2. also, when exporting to quicktime video i get the same thing - a 5 second clip at 30fps turned into a 14 second quicktime movie, and when i lowered the quicktime quality settings, lo and behold i was about 4 seconds closer to where i should be.
my files big - 720x480, which im doing because im editing all my clips together in final cut. im sure thats not helping, but any suggestions as to how to maintain high quality and accurate framerate?
Quicktime Export Has No Sound
Hi all,
I've checked the archives and all over the net for this but i haven't been able to find a suitable answer.
I have a flash file with embedded mp3 audio. Using the standard export as quicktime saves the file fine, but there's no audio in the final .mov. I've tried playing with settings, but it's no good.. i can't get it to export the audio as well.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going crazy trying to find a solution..
Cheers
Damien
Export To QuickTime Video
Hi All,
I've been using Flash 4 since it came out. Recently I upgraded to Flash 8. I created a Flash project for a client. Well, they liked it so much they were woundering if it could be used as a commercial TV spot. I've been fooling around with different export features so I could preview this on Television through my DVD player, I saved it to QuickTime video, MPEG4 and burned the disk through iDVD and it played fine but looked a bit washed out and blurry. I'm at a lost, this is out of my realm. There's just too many variables to concider. The file consists of Raster images of paintings and PNG files. First, is this doable, and if so, can anyone suggest some export options.
Thanks in advance
Ron
Quicktime Export Troubles Between Mac And PC
Hi to all
Having major headaches with QT. I've been using Flash for many years, making pesentaion animations for use in PPT and web (as well as pure Flash presentations) on both PCs and Mac. In the past, i've always just been able to generate a QT file for mac users (using Flash 5 format), and they've been very happy. But now, although the use of the flash layer has been enabled in QT7 on the macs, the *.mov files will still not play nor the *.swf files. I can export to *.avi, and they're fine, but why not the QT files? They play fine on the PC in QT but not on the Macs. The publishing settings are all as I would normally have them (looped and flattened). Any ideas why?

Quicktime Export Freezes
When I export to quicktime from CS3 the progress bar moves all the way to
the right then freezes. I have left it overnight and still it hasn't
changed. It is only a short Flash movie. What's going on??
I notice some other threads in this NG which seem to point to the same prob,
though not sure as over-zealous mod removes posts from less than 2 months
ago so can't see full thread!
Export From Quicktime To Flash
Hello, I have several Quicktime trailers (1 minute and 8 minutes long) that I want to encode in Flash so that I can place on my website. I can either export from Final Cut Pro using the FLV codec or use my Flash 8 encoder. These are my questions:
1. Does one way produce better quality than another? I have also heard that Sorenson Squeeze produces better quality compression than either of these two methods. Is this true?
2. I imported the QT movie (.mov) into the Flash 8 encoder and saved using Flash 8 medium quality. I then placed the FLV file on my site. However, when the link to the Flash file is clicked, the flash movie does not play; it asks you if you want to download the file. When I download the file, it will not open. What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't the flash file stream open?
3. Are there any tutorials available on QT to Flash that can help me?
Thank you for any advice you can offer me.
Flash CS3 Export To Quicktime
Hi guys - I am working on a flash presentation that will ultimately be exported as a Quicktime movie then into DVD format (I hope). My file is under 100 MB and when I attempt to export to QT - it gives me an error message "the export operation failed because it ran out of memory". I am on PC but have fairly new components (over 20GB of free space on my HD) and upgraded my RAM to 4GB today and I still get this message using the "in memory" option for higher frame rates. (I am at 24 FPS).. If I select "on disk" for longer movies - it works but renders a terribly slow and choppy movie.. When the presentation was smaller - it worked fine. Any ideas?
Much appreciated,
Nevin Austin
Cs3 Export To Quicktime Hangs
I'm trying demo of flash cs3. When I try to export movie/quicktime using default settings it does the conversion but never completes. The progress bar is full but the .mov file is never created and no matter how long I leave it the quicktime movie is never created. All I can do is click on cancel button. The system is not hung. The .fla file was created in macromedia flash mx. Any ideas?
Quicktime Export Trails
Hey there! I have three four minute cartoons due tomorrow for a sizable network, and they want 'em in quicktime (I thought I was to deliver in Flash). Anyways, the cartoons are fairly complex, with movies within movies and such. They're simply huge productions. Now, I'm exporting, using the Animation quicktime setting, millions of colors, 2 pass encode, and I've tried keyframing every 7 frames and every frame. Either way, I'm getting a lot of trails, and it just doesn't look so great.
My 'toons are 24 fps, Flash CS3, Actionscript 2.0
Thanks for any advice you have, it really will be appreciated.

CS3 Quicktime Not FPS-stable With Export As .mov
I've been using Flash MX 2004 and the QT export function for an animation movie that is going to 35mm film, so the resolution is large: 2048 x 1536, using animation/best as my compression. (Yes, this makes large files.) My problem is that in MX2004, the Quicktime export was SOLID at 30fps, whether I exported at that rez, or at 720 x 540 for testing. In Flash CS3, the QT export results in RANDOM fps, like 12 or 15, and plays back as such. It ALSO has a long pause at the beginning of playback as if there's some frame buffering going on. I've experimented with the memory storage as temp or harddrive option but there's no difference.
I would LOVE to find a way to have QT export work effectively in CS3. Any ideas?
pleeze...
thanks
CS4 - Wonky Export To Quicktime
I've recently switched from Flash v.6 on mac G4 to Flash CS4 on macbook running OS 10.5.4.
In Flash v.6 on mac G4, I could export my animated shorts to Quicktime video, 15fps, using no compression, best quality, all frames intact, no problem.
Now (using CS4 on a new macbook with plenty of memory), when I export the animation to Quicktime, certain, random frames (different every export) get messed up (i.e. parts of image from previous frame show up on next frame).
This is a key process for me to deliver files to my client. Anyone have a similar experience, or know what causes it/what could correct it?
Thanks in advance,
Jennifer
