i was just wondering if anyone knows how some of these interactive flash communities are able to integrate chat. Please if anyone has info please let me know, youd be my hero!

Sharing/chatting
Is there anywhere i can go and learn about how to do online like chatting and see one anothers person on the
screen..

like ***** but i don't want it that difficult..

in like a year i want to be able to see someones person on the screen (don't care if they are movable or not)

and be able to at least type one word to them and they can see it on their screen ..

i really want to learn this and i am determined.
can you give me any tuts like chat clients or sharing .fla
things..

Where To Start With Chatting?
I have a site where a logged on user can see how many other users are logged on. I was planning on making a link that would open a pop up window listing the different users and each user would be a link. Then, when they clicked the users's name, it would use their IP address to send them a message asking if they wanted to chat.

I have an old flash chat room I found online about 4 years ago that I figured I could use. However, I'm not sure how to go about communicating between the browsers. I figured that if I had a small flash movie in each page that would somehow listen to the server for any incoming messages (and this is where I'm lost as to how to do it), it would fire a javascript call (in the container page) upon receiving a message. The javascript would say that so and so has requested to chat... would you like to join them?

I don't know flash's complete capabilities with listening to the server for this type of interaction, so I don't know if this is possible. If it is, could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Chatting Between Flash And HTML
How does one open an *.htm in an iFrame (_holder) after a flash button has been clicked? The button is in a header, and the iFrame is on the same page nested in a table.
