Can u make a button close the flash/projector window? Like a close button? Ive made the button, but can't find the code to make it close the SWF/EXE...THANKS GUYS!!!

I'm developing a presentation in flash 8 and I have a button that needs to close the window of the application when it is pressed.
This is the code that I'm using, but it doesn't work:

All it does is open a window in IE which immediately closes itself.

I've been tearing my hair out with what is probably a really SIMPLE problem, but the thing is I have only been using Flash since 2 months ago so I am a clueless newbie.
I've made a splash screen for a CD. When the user clicks a button it launches an external executable to install something. This is a HUGE file so the gap between clicking the button and it appearing on screen is quite big.
In the meantime I make the text on the button change to "Loading, please wait" but then I need the projector to wait 20 seconds and then quit to desktop.
I've managed to get everything working except for the part where it quits to desktop! What is the single command to make the projector quit when the timeline runs over it? (Not by pressing a button, I know how to do that)

Function Invoked When Closing Projector Using The Default Window Close Button
Hello guys! I am just having some little problem in dealing with this.
I am making a flash application and I am trying to find function to
use when I press the close button of the projector window. I dont
want to make a button that uses fscommand("quit") since this would be
impractical knowing that a default close button on the window is
already available. Anyway the purpose of the function is that when I
close my application, a dialog box/message would appear as a reminder
that some data has not yet been saved and give the user an option to
save or quit the application. I would appreciate any help. I tried
searching and I can not find any third party software that can do such

Editorial opens new window with editorial.swf inside. Click on top right button to close window and see what happens.

Flash Player 10 (and 9) Causes IE To Close
I'm not a programmer. My husband just wants to work the jigsaw puzzle. With both flash 9 and the newer version 10, we get a message that an error has been encountered and IE must close and it is always flash*.ocx causing the problem. Sometimes it is so bad that it closes IE before you can open tools and disable it. Yes, we've gotten to that. When he wants to play on my pc he has to enable flash and then disable it once he is done. And of course, there are so many things I want to do that you need flash for. Surely, there is something I can do to keep this from happening. I was hoping with v10 that this problem would go away but no such luck!

i have a standard flash window which basically has one button. I would want the flash window to close when i click the button.
I have tried many codes from online but they all seem to relate to the frame in html based.

I have a flash pop-up that is opening within a html file, within the pop-up there are many links that then get loaded in the first window and I would like the pop-up to close when this happens.

Flash Pop Up Window. How Do I Close?
I have a flash pop-up movie clip that I would like to show when the user hovers over a button. The only problem is that once you hover over the button, the pop clip up doesn't go away. How can I make this pop up clip dissappear on (rollOut) ?? I don't want to resort to using a close button on this particular clip.

IE Window Trying To Close Itself FLASH And ASP

I created a form in Flash 8 as well as an ASP page. They work great but, for some reason, in IE, when you hit submit, a blank page comes up and says "this window is trying to close itself"
The information is sent but is there a work around in either my AS or ASP to get rid of this annoying window?

Close Qt Player From Flash Track?
Hey everyone,
Is it possible to have the qt player close from some actionscript in the flash track? I've been trying all sorts of things like quit; and fscommands but nothing seems to work. I'd also like to avoid having to use another program like Livestage pro, there should be a way of doing it either throught the xml interpreter or actionscripting.

No Events For Flash Player Close
I have DEACTIVATE and REMOVED_FROM_STAGE set on a few of my components, and they are firing fine. However, when I close the Flash Player or the browser that contains my Flash object, neither of these events fire. In fact, no events that I can detect actually fire. I need to pick up on the flash player closing or my objects being deactivated or something like this. Is there any way? Thanks much!

I am very confused about this one. I am trying to close a full window frameset screen from a flash btn inside a frame. From my homepage I am calling a new window in javascript that is bringing up a frameset in full screen mode. flash is in the middle frame and I have a side frame (* just to get rid of that side bar in full screen mode )
I try to use the common javascript=close.window code, but to no avail. I have tested this for 20 hours now with new techniques from javascripts websites, but to no avail. Could someone tell me how this is done. You would be my hero. Thank you.

Getting Vars From Flash On Window Close
Hey Guys,
So I have a flash video player with a full screen button.
user clicks to go full screen and this opens a window where the playheadTime and volume of the smaller video are passed through the URL.
This allows the full screen video to play from where the user clicked the movie and at the same volume.....great!
My problem is going back ward. Is it possible to use javascript in an onClose hadler within the HTML to run a function within the flash to retrieve the info I need?
This is so when the user closes the full screen window the smaller movies resumes fromt where they left off....make sence?
