Converting A Powerpoint To Another Format
Hi, I know there have been other threads on this, but I have a couple questions that I didn't see on the other threads.
I know there are programs that convert a powerpoint to either Flash or video, but the one I downloaded didn't work properly. And on top of that, it had a huge ugly watermark right in the middle of the screen.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can convert a powerpoint to either video or flv, but without buying an expensive program that neither my client or I can afford?
Converting it to flash manually seems like it'll be complicated and time consuming, so I don't think I can do it (he wants this done soon).
Or is there anyone out there I can pay to manually convert this to video or flv? (I don't have much to pay, but I just want to get this done.)
thanks so much!

Converting PowerPoint To Flash
I have many power point presentations that I have created and want to now convert them to flash.
I read past post's here that have said I could insert power point into flash and vice versa.
Which one do you recommend?
I am going to be experimenting with both of these processes this weekend to see which one will/will not work.
What I really want is a way to just convert the ppt files to swf. I want to be able to create these files so they have the same controls as the ppt files. I am not a programmer of script writer. Don't know much lingo either.
I did some research and found company's that have software that will do it (for an outragious price) or you can pay them to host your power point file on their web site and view it on your computer as a flash. I dont see the point in paying someone that outrageous fee when I can do this myself.
So is there anyone that has done this before that can help me with a few tips?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Converting PowerPoint To Flash
I primarily need to convert PowerPoint presentations to Flash with the best accuracy possible. I've been told FlashPaper 2 will do the job but can't get it running on my PC (1904 error message). I've given up on FlashPaper 2 and downloaded Flash CS3 Pro. I've got to believe somewhere in this extensive program I can convert my PowerPoint files to Flash. Can someone please walk me through this process using Flash CS3 Pro? -- Thanks!

Converting Powerpoint To Flash.
Hey, I am currently working with someone who wants to use a powerpoint presentation they made on a web page. So of course I instantly thought I'd use flash. I'm just wondering if there are any easy conversion methods or programs that you could recommend? I've already tried converting them by hand and it'd take a lot longer than necessary.
I preferably want something that makes an FLA as well as a SWF. Although it isn't necessary because I could always decompile it.
A very important feature is to have a "click to go to next frame" feature so it's not just an animation of the slides but I could always do that myself if it gave me an FLA.
I've looked at flashspring but only the very expensive ultra version has the click for next frame feature that I like and the pro and ultra versions don't come with an FLA.
Thanks for any help!

Converting Swf To Mpeg And Embed In Powerpoint
hi,
Background:
I have a flash animation which has to be converted into mpeg format (which has to be embedded in PowerPoint) - I don't want to embed swf file, as the client may/ may not have the flash plug-in. Since Flash can't Publish mpeg, I thought : converting to .mov and then convert to .mpeg using Adobe Premiere or some other software wuld be easy.
Problem:
I have a 300 frame animation that is exported as a .mov (published as flash 4 version). when i try to view the MOV file, for some reason.. it doesn't show up properly (the border seems to be white and the player controls i.e. play, stop, pause etc. - doesn't show up. It gave an error ""The installed version of QuickTime does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia Flash movie"?" and after checking MM site it says the error comes, if it is converted with actionscript that is not supported by the latest QT player (I have converted to Flash 4 format). so this should error shuldn't come, right.
has anyone encountered the same kinda problem??
Question:
When i try to convert it using Adobe Preimier, it converts the MOV file to MPEG-2 format (and not MPEG)
How can i convert this to MPEG. I want to embed MPEG in PowerPoint. ( i searched this site forums for powerpoint related questions, but it was not useful for me - farafiro has answered a lot of PPT questions. ).
I got another download WinMPG convert which converts SWF to AVI, but the quality is very very poor.
any solutions/ ideas??
thnx for ur time!!

Converting Word/PowerPoint To SWF - Any Good Solution ?
Hello,
I'm having a hard time trying to import DOC and PPT files to Flash.
I've tried many SWF printers, but most of them just convert pages to
images (SWF Printer) and importing documents created with Print2Flash
just crash Flash CS3 !
The best thing I could find is PDF2SWf from Swftools, which keeps fonts
but here lies the problem as once imported it asks for a font
substitution and the whole text dissapears... (I only use basic fonts !)
If you know any good solution, let me know !
Thanks.

Converting From Any Video Format To FLV On The Fly?
Does anyone know if it is possible to have a flash site stream a movie from a URL provided by the user and show the video in flash regardless of what format it is in originally? For instance www.someblablasite.com/myfunnyvideo.mov or .avi or .wmv or .ra or whatever they are called these days...
Is it at all possible? Im not expecting a working solution, i just need to know if it is possible. Youtube seem to manage it, and i saw a post asking something like this further down, but no one had answered. Even if the solution incorporates some other programming language, I still wanna know (i just... learn it)... =)

Converting M2P Format Video To Flv
Hi All,
Recently my client supplied me videos in M2P format to be used in Flash project. I guess this format is MPEG2 which is used by HDTV or Broadcaster.
I was trying to convert it to flv format but My Flash 8 could not accept it for conversion. Ultimately I requested for MPEG1 format and it worked very well.
Is it that M2P format can not be converted to flv or am I missing something?

Help Converting The .as Code Into Binary Format
Is there a tool, to convert the as method which we have, to binary form.
I need it coz, i want to inject this method into all the SWF files i parse.
The objective, that iam supposed to do is
1.convert a .as function which checks for URL whether it is absolute or relative, then compile it into binary format and then inject it into the swf files which i parse and then redirect the calls to the predefined method to open the page related to the url.
2.Check the entire flash file for the different possibilities of opening a url and i need to proxy that call to the method which i have injected.
3. The method i have injected changes the url to the one which i want, then redirect the call to openUrl method or something similar to that, to open the webpage or clip related to the link.
I have no idea about flash and actionscript. Iam finding it very difficult to understand these stuff. Iam working in java.
So , Please provide me some inputs on how to achieve this.
Thanks in advance.

Reducing/converting Swf Files In Smaller Format (width, Height And Kb's) Possible?
Does anybody know if it is possible to convert swf files (with lots of bitmaps) to smaller files in sense of filesize in kb and format (while keeping the actionscript), like converting an 400X300 swf to 200X150.
for instance like one could resize an 720X640 avi or jpeg to an avi/jpeg half that size and very much smaller in kb's.
This question could bring up a lot of things which I know of and dont mean to do, like:
setting the jpeg publish quality lower
reducing individual jpeg quality
resizing it in the browser window or resizing it in an movieclip
The point is that I have some swf files which are made for an cd-production and are large in terms of filesize in kb and format (width, height) and I want to convert them for the internet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ok, our PowerPoint banner is finished, but how to convert it to flash banner and to embed it to web?

Yes, this tool – Wondershare PPT2Flash Professional will take up the final work.
Download from http://www.********.com/index.php?sid=6
You have two options: PPT2Flash Standard Edition and PPT2Flash Professional Edition.
After installation, you have two modes to operate this software:
1)With the shortcut icon from your tabletop. Double click it.
2)With the PPT2Flash’s plug-in mode, launch the Microsoft PowerPoint, it will show in the menu bar:

Menu of PPT2Flash:

You may Record Narration, Import Audio, Edit Audio, Insert Flash, Add Attachments, select Templates to your flash.
Ok, that’s all. I really hope you understand what I have written in this article.
Writing a tutorial isn’t a comfortable job. Does it suit you? Useful for you?
Is this article excellent or not? I am not sure. But I wrote it with my heart, really.

Converting A PDF To A Flash FLA File Without Converting To An Image First?
Basically, I'm building a digital catalogue that runs off a CD and uses a Flash 'page turning component' to display the pages. Certain pages will have links that use Flash's Fscommand call to open Word and Excel documents.
Has anyone got any bright ideas of how to Convert a PDF to a Flash FLA file without converting to an image first?
I know I can open a PDF in Photoshop, save as a PNG or JPG and then import this into Flash, however the quality isn't brilliant. If you use a hi-res image, then you get a hi-res file size...
Currently, the best way I have found, is to open the PDF in Illustrator, then export it as a SWF. Illustrator converts all text to shapes and you end up with a small SWF, yet great quality when displayed in larger sizes. As I'm currently using a page turning flash component that loads SWF files, I need the quality to be good for the 'Zoom' function.
I've found an Illustrator script that will do the hard work via a 'batch' process, so I can take a 100 page PDF and convert the whole lot to 100 SWF files while I drink tea and 'look busy' and read a magazine, but the problem I have is that I need to add a layer of buttons to several of the SWF files to add a little functionality....
I do have a SWF to FLA decompiler which does a good job, however because Illustrator turns everything into shapes, the decompiler does the same and you end up with thousands of files in the library.... Plus there are a lot of error messages when the file is first loaded...
Many layers are masked, (for some reason without a fill), so if you publish the decompiled file straight away, you just get a blank file. Once you go through and fill the masks needed, it shows when you publish, but this really is a lot of work and I've had a few pages that show when you open the SWF file, but don't show when the SWF is called into the page turning file.... Hmmm....
So in short, I'd like to take a PDF and convert it to a FLA file, add a layer of buttons and publish as a SWF file....
Anyone got any 'Pearls of Wisdom'?

Powerpoint To SWF
Hi!
I'm researching solutions to implement a Microsoft PowerPoint file conversion to SWF on a Web Based application. I already have a lot of interface based and commercial solutions listed as FlashSpring for example.
Does anyone here knows any open source solution?
I found JODConverter, but it requires OpenOffice installed and it's not a good alternative to our project.
Also, it would be great to receive indications to good information on develop our own converter in Java, but in this case, I really don't know where to start from... I'm already researching infomations on PPT file specification and SWF specification but I haven't found any good information on how to use these specifications yet.
Thanks for any help!

FLV In PowerPoint
I have my FLV file (which I do not want to be SWF). Adobe's KB only talks about SWF files. I have tried that method with an FLV file and it does not work. Does anyone know how to play FLV files in Microsoft PowerPoint? Or is it impossible? I believe it probably has something to do with ActionScript. Help anyone?

PowerPoint Sub
Hi everyone,
almost everday (except sundays) I get frustrated with PowerPoint. Incompatability between OSs, incompatability between versions, incompatability within. One day I work on a presentation, the next day I can start over again - it aint working no more. For all of you who believe there must be a better way to communicate and other than with PowerPoint, perhaps you are interested in the following. The attached PPT subsitute it is far from perfect and easy to handle for non-experts, but it shines a little light towards less frustration with PP.
Constructive criticism and ideas to optimize are most welcome.
The features are as follows:
- Fixed screen resoultion (havent tested it on beamer)
- swf opens fullscreen (on both MAC and PC)
- mouseclick advance, shift click go back
- arrow keys navigation (left, right = next, back; up, down = first, last)
- punch in numbers an hit enter to get to higher slide numbers
- cursors inactivity after few secs.
- most importantly of all: FULL FLASH FUNCTIONALITY AVAILABLE...sind FLASH
enjoy;-)
