[CS3] Converting To Quicktime
Hi... I'm trying to export a few animations and one interactive site to quicktime files to put on my website... the animation files worked fine but i'm having trouble with the interactive site... it goes through the same process and as its loading the 'recording flash content' it gets completed loaded but then won't finish... it just stays up as the bar fully loaded, where as the other ones said 'you have successfully made a quicktime movie etc' ... any ideas? I was wondering if its because its interactive with actionscripting etc so if thast the case is there an easy way around it? thanks!

I have flash timeline controls written in AS3 but when I export swf from keynote I get a conflict- looks like keynote swf exports in as2 only. Anyone know of converters that would take either a quicktime movie or swf in AS2 to produce swfs compatible with AS3?

Converting Flv To Quicktime
I have an flv I need to edit. Yesterday when I exported to quicktime from flash I could only get the sound which played over a white movie (i.e. only the sound was exported). I was told I need to upgrade to quicktime pro 7 which I did, however when I try to export as a .mov I am still getting the same results.

Can anybody tell me how I can get this to work?

My problem is:
I converted my Flash movie (With actionscript applied) to quicktime video. after converting the file, the action script wasn't functioned in the quicktime movie. What should I do?

Problems Converting Swf To Quicktime
I just started working with flash MX 2004, and slowly working thru the learning curve... I can't figure out this latest issue, though.

I created a flash file that has a couple animated masks, but when I converted it to a Quicktime mov file, it dropped frames and skipped over the mask transitions entirely.

When I export it as an avi file the mask animations work. Am I doing something wrong? Any help'd be appreciated.

Converting To Quicktime From MX2004
I've exported a flash cartoon (fla file) to quicktime video (.mov).
But the movie clip symbol (character walking) is now still and not moving in the .mov.

I'm using Flash MX 2004 on a Mac, by the way.

Converting Mpg Movies To Quicktime Format
I have been tryin to convert mpg movies to quicktime format i.e.(.mov)
I am using FlashMx 2004 version.

What actually happens is that when I try to export movie i.e. (mpg, embedded in flash), or when I try to publish the same, it shows me that the Quicktime installed does not have handler for this type of flash movie.

I have been tryin to get this done for a long time pls help.

Text Distortion When Converting From QuickTime To Flash
I am converting a QuickTime video to Flash format. Both have the same pixel dimentions - 200 x 150 - so I don't need to resize. I am using the default "flash 8 - high quality" settings.

However, there is some large text on the opening screen of the video that looks fine before conversion, but is distorted after conversion. Any ideas how to fix?

Edited to add that I am using the Flash 8 Video Encoder.

Converting A PDF To A Flash FLA File Without Converting To An Image First?
Basically, I'm building a digital catalogue that runs off a CD and uses a Flash 'page turning component' to display the pages. Certain pages will have links that use Flash's Fscommand call to open Word and Excel documents.

Has anyone got any bright ideas of how to Convert a PDF to a Flash FLA file without converting to an image first?

I know I can open a PDF in Photoshop, save as a PNG or JPG and then import this into Flash, however the quality isn't brilliant. If you use a hi-res image, then you get a hi-res file size...

Currently, the best way I have found, is to open the PDF in Illustrator, then export it as a SWF. Illustrator converts all text to shapes and you end up with a small SWF, yet great quality when displayed in larger sizes. As I'm currently using a page turning flash component that loads SWF files, I need the quality to be good for the 'Zoom' function.

I've found an Illustrator script that will do the hard work via a 'batch' process, so I can take a 100 page PDF and convert the whole lot to 100 SWF files while I drink tea and 'look busy' and read a magazine, but the problem I have is that I need to add a layer of buttons to several of the SWF files to add a little functionality....

I do have a SWF to FLA decompiler which does a good job, however because Illustrator turns everything into shapes, the decompiler does the same and you end up with thousands of files in the library.... Plus there are a lot of error messages when the file is first loaded...

Many layers are masked, (for some reason without a fill), so if you publish the decompiled file straight away, you just get a blank file. Once you go through and fill the masks needed, it shows when you publish, but this really is a lot of work and I've had a few pages that show when you open the SWF file, but don't show when the SWF is called into the page turning file.... Hmmm....

So in short, I'd like to take a PDF and convert it to a FLA file, add a layer of buttons and publish as a SWF file....

Anyone got any 'Pearls of Wisdom'?

Converting Swf File To Broadcast Quality Movie File
I'm using a Patrick Jansen effect in flash and if I try to export it the way I usually do for movie credits - ie export to quicktime - all I get is a grey box. The only way I can get the movie into a quicktime file correctly is to save the file as an swf then use "swf and flv player" to export each frame as a tif then recompile in quicktime.
Is there a program that will convert the SWF to quicktime in one go and keep the quality? It's for a movie, so I need it very high res.

In a nutshell, I've made a 15-minute flash video for a friend's wedding. Basically it's a glorified slideshow, but several people asked for a copy. I'd like to provide copies as DVDs people can just stick in and play, particularly since many of them are blue-haired great aunts that won't necessarily have the latest and greatest computers, or any computer for that matter.

Does anyone out there have an angle on how to convert a Flash video into a straightforward movie format? I'm not a developer, so basically, I'm looking to pay someone to just take care of it for me.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Converting .txt File To Array

I have a text file, which has large arrays in it of this format,

I need these loaded in at the begining of my movie (before any other actionscript can run), and converted to arrays in my Flash movie. When I do loadvariables, it just loads the text file in as a string, but I need it as a array.

How would I do that?

WMV File Not Converting To FLV Properly
I am trying to use the Flash Video Encoder to convert a WMV file that a client provided to me into an FLV file. The audio works fine in the FLV, but the image stays stuck on the first frame through the whole movie.

This file needs to be uploaded by tomorrow. I've tried compressing with about 6 different compression settings (both in Sorenson and the newer On2 VP6 codecs).

I'm about to rip my hair out.

I even downloaded a trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 to export it and it's taking an hour to do so. My suspision is that it wont work in there either.

I am developing an application in flash that will allow the user to make an animation using elements provided (probably dynamically loaded graphics etc.)but I want them then to be able to save it as a quicktime movie. Any ideas on how to develop this?

Or alternatively if I export the entire application as a quicktime file, is it possible to break it into two movies so that one will only hold the final animation?

I have completed a project that I want to export to a Quicktime movie so I can import that QT movie into Final Cut Pro and do some additonal work on it.

I have tried to export my flash file to .mov and I get the following error:

An error occurred because a required QT component could not be found

Here's the AS2 loop picture bar code. Works perfect.

I have one of those 360 degree quicktime files, that lets you scroll around a room. Like virtual reality.

I want to put it in my flash site, but the file itself has a .PANO format. ....and flash doesn't recognize it. I don't understand it, because it seems to open as quicktime, and it works, but it doesn't have a .mov format to it?

What is PANO? And how can I make this work?

When I try to export my Flash animation as a QuickTime movie (*.mov) in Flash 8 Professional (or in Flash MX 2004, doesn't matter) an error appears stating that an error occured because a required QuickTime component could not be found. I have Apple QuickTime v7.1.3 (QuickTime Player v7.1.3) installed on my computer. In my "F:Program FilesQuickTimeQTComponents" directory, I have two files ("FLV.qtx" and "MMxptResources.dll"), do I need to download another component or version of QuickTime? In my "F:Program FilesMacromediaFlash 8Players" directory, I only have Flash Play 8, do I need to have the QuickTime player there as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Quicktime & Flash. Possible To Load Into A .swf File?

I'm new to video with flash so I'd really appreciate some help.

My client wants to be able to load a quicktime onto the flash stage but still allow the end user to download
the .mov file, basically maintain the quicktime functionality. It must be streaming video as well. We don't want to just open the .mov file in a pop up window. Is this possible?

The way the site is set up so far is I'm loading each category into level 2 of the site with all the main buttons on level 1. Once the video thumbnails load on level 2, I'd like the quicktime to load on level 2 but without converting it to a .flv.

.mov File To Pop Up In Quicktime Seperate Of Movie
I am creating a flash movie. imagine that. In my movie, I have a button that the user pushes and then I want the .mov file to pop up in quick time and the movie to play in quicktime. (the movie is too big to import into flash itself) This is the problem that I am having... in the action script of the button I have this:

}

and then my launcher.bat is in the same folder as the movie. The launcher.bat says this:

START jeff/Jeff.mov

where jeff is the folder and Jeff.mov is my movie inside the jeff folder. When I first made this it worked fine. For some reason it all of the sudden doesn't work. What am I doing wrong??
