Flash :: Counter-Strike In Flash MX

Counter Strike Clan Site Creation Problem?
Hi.Flash newbie.
I am building web site for my friend.
It is being built using Flash mx.
My question is this? The existing site has a page where visitors can look at the details of Clan members.
One of those details is game statistics. (How your score is ...how long you have been playing e.t.c.)
This is achieved by a .swf file that links directly to the Site that runs the statistics service..CS Sports.net.

They provide the html to put in your web page and the swf. etc. does the work.
I am wanting to recreate the Clan Stats.page in flash,but have absolutly no idea how to get the info I want into a specific frame, at the right size placement etc.
I can get the swf file to load up in the flash page but it replaces the existing page as it were..

Try making a simple button, link ..to the address you will see what i mean...?
I am waiting for a reply from CS sports as I type......
If anyone can understand the ramblings of a web newbie..I would love some help..

[CS3] Strike HTML Text Doesn't Work? (<s>, <strike>, Etc.)
What's wrong with it?

I have an HTML text field, and I can accordingly set it's variable to something like

Code:
Blah
or

Code:
Bleh
and it will apply the corresponding tags.

However, I'm in the need of using a <s> or <strike> tag to... well, strike a text through with a horizontal line, as what I wrote some time ago is no longer correct. But it doesn't work!

Isn't there any workaround to make the <s> or <strike> tag work?

i'm working on this site at http://www.madbrad.net and i'm having a problem.
For some reason the site will not stream when first loaded. its works fine when i test
its out in streaming mode inside flash MX but for some reason once on the web it
wants to load the whole thing in its completeness before letting it
run loose. anyone have any ideas why? thanks

Here's another rather strange problem... In frame 5 of the main timeline the animation of "mc" ought to be triggered, which doesn't quite happen in practice...

Loadvars On Strike *GRR*
Hi all!

This loadvariables thing just refure to work!!

I have abutton with the following code in it:

and in the same directory as my movie, I have a txt file with this in it:

Problem is, When I click the button, it gives me a "file not found" and "undefined"...

I followed directions in a book, but it refuses to work!

Can anyone lead me to success?

Pixel Fonts Strike Again
please take a look at:

have a look in the 'about us' section. my pixel fonts are starting to go blurry at the end of each line, just the last 5 or 6 letters.

Anyone else had this problem before?

Movie Going On Strike When Deleting Scenes.
Hi,

I did my movie in Flash 8, then when I tried reducing the file size by transfering contents from 3 scenes into another one, and deleting the un-needed scenes, the movie won't behave when clicking on buttons, even if I click on buttons that are unrelated to the scenes in question.

Can anyone tell me why this could happen? And how to fix it?

I have just finished upgrading my website from html to Flash. All the pages are made in Flash MX. Now I want to "import" my old counter from my index.shtml. Is that possible??

Of course I have the option to simply paste it into the html-document that the swif is embedded in, but I’ll rather not do that cuz it will be on a place that should be empty. And also it will look a bit odd to show the counter in the preloader. Is it possible to copy the old counter into Flash?? Is it possible to use actionscript?

Could anyone please tell me how to do? I have support for php but unfortunately I don’t know anything about that...Do I have to learn it now and not tomorrow...

Hit Counter In Flash?
I'm building a site for a woman and no matter what I say, she want's a hit counter. I really want to keep as much of her site as I can in Flash (It'll have conventional HTML too, but mainly I want the interface to be flash based).

I'm really not familure with ASP usage, PHP etc (I'll come out of the blocks looking to learn all that soon though). Also, what are the chances anyone know's how to fade text in and out with out having to do some 15 Keyframes every sentance?

I finally got this counter to work from this tutorial:

my problem is, the counter is in the 3rd frame in my main timeline. Now if I click and go to a different scene and then go back to my "home" scene1, the counter counts this as a visit. I only want it to count on the main scene so if you go to other scenes then go back to scene1, I don't want it to count.

I was looking around the net for free hit counter scripts, but im useless with scripting, so I thought that perhaps one could be created inside a flash document using Actionscript (the only language ive got fairly to grips with). Can it be done? comments or suugestions would be great, thankyou.

I have tried several tutorials with either php or cgi, and they just don't work! I did change the permissions to the right chmod and my server support both php & cgi.

Last one I tried was this one. And even though it works on their online sample it doesn't for me.

It only works when I load the swf from my hard drive, not on the internet. The php file and the counter txt file are all being called from the net, I have set the right permisions.

I was kinda hoping ive done summat really easy to fix, this is the tut I used....

As far as I went, the answer is that, flash movies runs at client side, so, the only way is to build a counter on PHP or ASP and pass the variables to the swf. Is out there some page explaining both steps for a newbie???

OK, im makin this intro for my clan, IMK, for counter-strike. i need to know, how can i import the demo files, which are recorded in Counter-strike, into flash. do i have to change the files to an .avi, or .mpeg?
