Flash :: Customizing Flash Projector Icon

Changing Title & Icon In Flash Projector
I want to create a projector from Flash (projector.exe) that has my own custom icon and title text in the top window bar.
This is something that I routinely do with Director, (by editing the icons in the projec32.skl file in Director's Program Files' folder), but I can't figure out how to do this for Flash.

The idea is to change where it says "Macromedia Flash Player 7" in the title bar and the little "f" icon next to it
to say, "My Own Application Name" , and have my own icon.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Flash Projector Full Screen Auto Run And Icon
I.m just wondering if anyone would b so kind as to tell how I might be able to make a flash fullscreen projector splash page and an icon to boot. I have seen a tutorial on this site which covers a few of these issues .. howeever it involves the use of a pc app which I can't use as I am on a mac. I shall be using an auto run inf file which will look sumthin like this

Can I Modify The Icon Of The Flash Projector Made Out Of Macromedia Flash Player?
i dont know if my question was right. here's what i wanted to do. for instance i have a swf file currently playing in macromedia flash player then i created a projector for that. can i modify the output (the projector...)? like changing the icon. like in vb6 you can choose your desired icon. do i need to download or even purchase a flash projector? is it possible?

Projector Customizing
Does anyone know how to eliminate user's ability to resize a projector window? I've tried FS commands, which don't seem to work, and I can't find anything using exescope on my projector file either. Crossed Out Mac Projector Icon
When I publish a mac projector file from my movie the projector file icon appears jagged and has a circle and crossbar through it. It seems to work okay, but the icon worries me. I didn't receive any errors when the movie is published. Is anybody familiar with this? What does the icon mean? I'm using Flash 8 on a Mac Pro. Thanks!

Now I'm looking at buying another program to do this, and don't know for sure if it will work.

So question one, can Flash insert an icon? (that would be nice)

Or, is there one program out there that can that has some kind of concensus that it works, or has a good track record (and doesn't cost an arm and a leg).

Or, is there a procedure out there for doing this that I can pick up easily (not being a programmer really).

Changing The Icon In A Stanalone Projector
Hi,

I have a standalone projector that is being burned to a hybrid Mac/PC CD. I need to change the icons for both the PC's .exe file and also the Mac Projector file.

I don't need any fullblown software editors, just something that can change the icons. Also, I'd rather not buy/download different pieces of software for each operating system.

Is there anything out there? So far the threads I've found haven't been very precise or link to outdated files. Shareware/freeware would be ideal, but I can spend < $100 US as long as it covers both OS's.

Customizing Flash
Hi

Can you guide me on the following.

I have a file called "a.swf" I will encrypt it to "a.sec" to the secret format.
I will put a.sec file as movie image file name on the html code.

In the client side, I want to write a customised FlashViewer.exe plug-in or some application which will decrypt it to "a.swf" first and then play it as ordinary Viewer does.
Is it possible to prepare the custom flash viewer?

Also Is it possible to disable few menu items like File | Open in the existing viewer, while playing some file.

I am c++ programmar and new to flash. Is there any c++ sample code available for creating flash viewer.

Please guide me in this.

Ugh.. Customizing A Flash Nav I Purchased
I'm having uber trouble with this thing and have been up since last night trying to figure it out.

Basically, I'm trying to create a new menu based off the links here: http://www.clockstrikes2.com/bac/

I purchased a flash nav menu, but I can't figure out how to create more buttons than there are (without messing the whole thing up). Something to do with symbols I'm guessing. It needs to be exported for flash 6 player compatibility, maybe that's what is messing it up?

Customizing Flash Movie
Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Flash presentation where some text and images need to be changed by the client depending on the audience. I'm trying to build an interface where the user can see the current text string and images (thumbnails) and make changes. The data saved by the user should remain in the movie next time it is opened.

Customizing Flash TextFeild Component
Ok I am new to flash components, I never saw a need to them until now.

I am trying to simply change the colors on scroll plane and customize the scrollbar. Is there a simple way to change the BG color/ BORDER color by adding a parameter, as for as the scroll bar I am guessing I have to edit the “StandardComponents.fla” I opened it looked at the scrollbar set in the library but that’s as far as I went.

Customizing Flash CS3 Quiz Template
In the Flash CS3 Quiz Template, when you click the "Check Answer" button and the answer is correct, all of the questions become "faded". Is there a way to manipulate the actionscript (2.0) code to "unfade" the questions so that the user can still see the correct answer (before continuing on to the next question)? Or, even better, is there a way to only fade the wrong questions while leaving the correct answer unfaded? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Customizing Kirupa.com Flash Slideshow
(Using Flash8, AS2.0)

I'm doing some modifications to the flash slideshow off of the kirupa site. Here's a link to the original file I started working with.

I have two questions about how to tweak this a bit more.
First, I need the slideshow images to transition smoothly from one to the next, like what they've done on this site.

Secondly, I need the small row of squares in the upper right corner (LEDs) to light up, corresponding with whichever number image is being shown (i.e. third image pops up, so third LED lights up). The biggest problem I'm having with this, is that those little squares are created at runtime depending on how many images are being defined in the external xml file. They're created and named 1 through x where x = number of images. The rollover and links where created inside the movieclip of the LED and not individually for each instance.

I could really, really use some help with this. Last two threads I posted went completely ignored, and although I eventually figured out those issues it was a pain in the ***. Some help on this would be VERY much appreciated.

Customizing Flash.filters.AnyFilter ? Pt1
I would like to modify the flash.filters.DropShadowFilter to include a scale transofrmation and I don't even know where to start.

I have tried making my own version by attaching a mc with a bmp copy of the target object scaled, etc. etc. but it doesn't account for changes in the shape of the clip without including an onEnterFrame beacon of sorts.

Could someone shed some light on how the flash.filters package works and whether you can extend or modify the built-in effects?

Customizing Flex Builder For Flash
Hello, I just watched your recent post and was having some issues trying to use the code snippet tree view from CFEclipse. I could get it to work for .as files but it wouldn't work for .mxml files. In fact if I had a .as file and .mxml file open at the same time and the .mxml had focus it would still insert the snippet into the .as file. I guess this could be a bug for the CFElcipse team, but I thought I would ask here first to see if someone else got it to work. I tried changing the key setting to When: Editing Text, Editing Flex Source, and even tried in Windows... all to no avail.

I also had some trouble getting the short cut "apple space" to work. Pretty sure I am doing something wrong there. Do you just type the trigger text then "apple space"? I changed the spot light preferences so that it would open spotlight on "crtl apple space"

Help Customizing Stock Flash TEMPLATE Content
I purchased and downloaded a Flash Template web site.
It has XMS and HTML with the FLA file. I'm assuming that is for the VIDEO and Video player on the site.

I want to put my own content into the template and add a few of my own photos and videos. I have Flash MX 8 but have very little idea how to do this.
I played around with it and managed to change a few photos and some text. But that's it. I can't change some of the main text, and have no clue how to add my own videos to the video player that is in the template.

Customizing A Purchased Flash Site Template.
Hello all. This is my first post here. I recently purchased a template for our start-up video company and feel like I am in over my head. I have taught myself some Flash - some Lynda.com tutes and various books. I have deconstructed most of the site to find how to change it (and contacted templatehelp.com for some specifics) but in doing so realize that the swf file has gotten too big - 2.6 meg. Even the pre-customized swf is 1.9. I wish that I had not gone in this direction now (full flash) but my partner liked this template and now we are stuck with it until I have time to figure out another option.
My questions then are:

What is the best way to optimize the size of the full site?
Can I break up the main swf file so that it preloads pieces instead of the whole thing?

I realize that these are probably big vague questions. If there are any good tutuorials you could point me to that would allow me to fix what I've got for now (rather that scrapping and completely redesigning) that would be immensely helpful and much appreciated.

New Flash User, Question On Customizing A Tutorial

However, I decided it would be fun to modify it a little. Instead of being 250 x 200, I made the stage 900 x 600. On the bottom the menu is 900 x 40. The actual pages themselves are 900 x 560. I also added in one more panel to increase the number from 5 to 6.

Everything is going fine in the tutorial, I follow it a T except for my changes. However, when I went to test it...only buttons 2 and 3 would work. Here is the code, perhaps you can offer a little help to a newb

Open Flash Projector From Another Projector
I've got several flash movies I've made that are all .exe projector files. I want to keep them this way because a couple of the features I have only work from this. I need to make a portfolio of all my work and want to create either a .swf but preferably a .exe file with al my links. Each link will then be connected to each .exe project. Is this possible and how can I do it? Obviously can't do it with html due to security risks but surely it can be done from flash?!

Is it possible? My professor doesn't mind my using of flash instead of director in order to present my portfolio however he feels Director handles Video more efficiently than flash. So is it possible to import the movie to director code the movie create a projector. Then when a certain button in flash is clicked it launches the director projector displaying the video?

Flash To Url Through A Desktop Icon?

Looking for information on creating a link in a flash movie to put a icon on a person's desktop computer that will hyperlink them to their web site.

...The Flash movie I'm making for a person, they would like me to create a button that when clicked, it puts a symbol/icon that will hyperlink a person to a web site when clicked on after the flash movie is SHUT OFF...so it stays on their computer...or it could ask them if they want it on their desktop, and then it would put it there...

Flash UI Icon Showing Up In .swf
I am fixing a site left unfinished. The original developer animated a transition that requires multiple stacked masks. The time line looks in tact but for some odd reason, when running the movie it shows some selection UI.

It's the 0,0 point of a movie clip. double click on any movie clip in your library and you see this little black cross with a white outline that indicated that movie clips 0,0 point. For some reason is shows up on the images my mask is revealing when running the .swf.

Has anyone had anything similar happen?

Flash Icon Factory

I'm interested in creating an icon factory in flash that can return a constructed icon (A MovieClip with a specified bitmap and a decorator MovieClip attached to it) on demand.

My factory function would look something like this:

I've put this function on my root SWF, and I'm dynamically loading nested MovieClips from other SWFs. I can use this factory function from scripts on the root SWF, but when I call it from scripts on the nested SWFs, the call succeeds, but the attachMovie() call fails. I presume this is because the library symbol "bttn_base" is not in scope in the context of the caller (the nested SWF).

Can anyone point me toward an example of creating a factory like this that is usable from any nested SWF?

I really need one source of truth for generating icons regardless of the SWF that is attempting to create one.

Custom Icon For My Flash Exe...?
