Flash :: Does A Pre-loader Make Your Site Run Smoother?

Smoother Loading Site.
Hey Guys.

How is everyone? I'm looking for some advice, and tips to make a site up working on run better. The site is for a friends band, the site on it's own is around 2-3 meg, not to bad for loading. But I have also built a 3 track music player, which knocks the file size right up. I think the best way to load the site, would be to have the site load, then after start loading the music player, so users can view the site without having to wait for the music. I got the idea, I just need to the know how, on how to get flash to do it. Any tips or advice anyone can give me, will be ace.

Advice To Make Smoother.
I just want to say that I know that the site isn't much to look at right now, basically put something up just to convey info for the time being untill I learn this program better. I wanted some opinions on how I could get the "transit" I have on the page to be smoother. Didn't know if there was a way that I could motion/shape tween a graphic symbol like this or not.

How To Make Text Scroll Smoother
Can anyone help me make my dynamic text box scroll smoother? My Flash document is set at 30fps and I use the 'onEnterFrame' method so surely the text should scroll smoothly?!

I am noticing that some animations can get jaggedy in Flash. How do you make it smoother, is it increasing the frame rate setting for the movie or some other settings?

Loader Page - Web Site Starts Behind The Loader
Hey Everyone...

i ran into a very odd problem... to loader page on this site:

works fine, except the fact that it doesnt stop the web site from playing while its loading. the web site plays the splash page in the background while its loading...

Any ideas what would be causing this? I use this same feature on my personal site, and it works fine, so i compared codes, and i cant see anything wrong.

I Have To Make A Site For A DJ. What Cool Effects Could I Add To The Site?
I do not have the site uploaded at the moment, but i am working on a DJ's website. (Known as DJK). He wants something similar to how the effect on http://www.meamusic.com/site.htm works but he doesnt want it exactly like that. He wants some kind of cool background lighting effects and such. I am not quite sure how might do this and make the website still run effectively and smoothly. I will upload the site once i get on my computer at home. Any ideas?

Pre-loader For Low-bandwidth Site
I want to make a Flash pre-loader for my low-bandwidth site, and have it play its animation to the end of the movie.

The reason is that the pre-loader will act as an intro to my site.

First, is it normal (acceptable?) to have a Flash pre-loader for a low-bandwidth site? Aren't they usually for high-bandwidth sites?

Second, how can I ensure that the pre-loader will play to its full extent prior to moving onto the site display?

I just downloaded the Bar (pre)Loader from the site and I've tried to figure it out, but what I want to do is very hard to translate from the tutorial within the fla. file..

I want this black siloute to get filled out with the real color(the mask way) as a preloader..
I know how to make a preloader, but not with a bar or person getting their color..

Can someone make me a very very easy to understand tutorial..?

Flash Site, Differen't FPS, Using Loader
I am creating a full flash website and for each page link I have a different FLA file or swf movie loaded into the full flash file. I was under the impression that as long as I was loading another flash file, the FPS would be the same as the file.

My main flash file has a FPS of 12 and the one page I have loading is at 25, but when I test the main file, it reverts back to 12.

Is there a way to get this to work the way I want. (keeping the loaded file @ 25 FPS.)

Loader Appearing After Site Loaded
I have a number of MC's in my library that I am attaching to the stage at runtime. Whenever I load my site, the loading bar doesn't appear until all the info has been loaded, then it flashes on the screen for a second and disappears like it's supposed to after everything has loaded.

When you have clips with "export in first frame" checked do you have to load thigns differently?

Unloading A Movie Loader Within A Flash Site
I built a website in a Flash CS3 AS 2.0 file with a portfolio gallery made up of their own external swf files. I added a loader component for each gallery. At the end of each gallery movie I have a back button to go back to all the main topics in the portfolio page. The button panel for each gallery slides down covering the main buttons for all the gallery topics and when I am finished looking through each gallery piece I click on the back button and the panel slides up and hides revealing the main buttons again.

Even though the movie gallery is gone and not visible I am unfortunately still at the same place in my timeline where the loader and other information for that gallery is there.
How do I unload the movie when it is done and return to my main portfolio section of my site? I am new at web production. Please help if you can!

Basically, I love the fact that it eases out, and fades out as it reaches the end. It is a very smooth effect.

If you refresh the page, it will do it again.

How can I recreate this type of preloader? All the preloaders I have seen are clunky and don't have an easing effect like this.

Hi. I read with attention the (long) tutorial from Senocular( rf his web site) to make a preloader .
My problem is that the loader does not disappear when the images are loaded..( the loader is attached several times to preload many images )I set the visible property to false with a if condition, but it seems that my code misses some fixing, what do I do wrong ???

How Do I Make Loader Release The File?
I'm using a Loader to display a logo image. Then I want to upload a new image. The problem I'm having is that loading the image locks the file and I can't update it. I'm using an IIS server. Here's the load code:

AS3 - Make The Loader Class Show Stuff Faster
Hi!

Is there a way to make the loader class show the loaded content as soon as it's possible to show anything from the external swf?

for example, I've got an external swf with 36 frames, I load it thru the loader class and want it to show the contents of frame 1 as soon as it has loaded the first frame. What I get from the loader class now is that it only shows stuff when 100% of the external asset is loaded, i.e. all 36 frames.

1. how do they make the website fit the screen? (look at the logo, if your screen is big, then it also becomes bigger. though, they make a minimum resolution. at some point, it doesnt go any smaller)

2. look at bar at the bottom, how can you make them stretch, following your window? (text "NIKEFOOTBALL.COM stays on left, nav menu stays on right side)

3. it seems that, the item that stretchable is only the background, but not the bar at the bottom. how can i do that?
