[F8] Memory Style Card Game Card Flipping Issue
Hey guys,

I need a little help with a project I'm doing for school. I'm designing a memory style card game where you flip cards over and if they match they go away and stuff. You know what I mean. Anyway, I can't figure out how to tell both cards to revert to their original state if you guess wrong.

I have the last card you pressed flipping back over no problem. It's just the first one that won't do anything and I can't figure out how to reference it.

If anyone can help that'd be great.

E-card Tut. ?
Hi Im writing in regards to the tutorial on sending e-cards. I have it working to some extent...So far the user can enter customized text and then an email address for the person who is to recieve the card. The recipient gets an email notifying them about the e-card...BUT...cant retrieve it.
I understand that the card is stored in a databank on my website, but how do i figure out where to tell it to go. And after that how do I direct the recipient email to that databank. I think Im real close I just need to connect everything. As of right now I havent created a databank on my site, is that where I need to start?

E-card Site
Ok - I have available to me generator and flash 5. i want to create a flash movie that people can type a message, move things around, etc. and then export this to a jpg. No problem exporting an swf to a jpg with generator. BUT if I want to record where the objects were placed, and the message, I have no idea how to pull that into generator. Is there a way to save an swf to the server after it has been manipulated. generator loads the swf and ignores the variable I try to pass to the flash piece. Can anyone help?

BMP Card Falling
I want to import a number of .BMP files into a flash movie.. and have each as a movieclip (so far so good (I think))

But in the movie I want to be able to treat each clip as a card.. ie the card is standing up.. but when hit it falls back.. I'am sure I could do this effect with a simple tween.. but because I'll have a movieclip for each .BMP this would be lots of work.... can I do it in Script???

all (all!!) I would need to do is have the top of the card shrink while the bottom edge remains the same.. and have the left and right edges follow the top edge shrink... I dont really think I can do this.. but perhaps you know a method?

Credit Card
I want to be able to validate credit cards via flash. I want my visitors to be able to enter there credit card info in a flash form, and have the results of the process come back in the same movie. I do not want any pop-up windows with external html forms. What is the best way for me to do this? I have PHP scripts, and JavaScripts to verify card numbers. Can someone teach me how to interface one of them with flash? Or is there a way to do all of the scripting in flash. Any one familiar with the Luhn MOD 10 algorithm?

Scratch Card
i want to make a scratch card... it has two images... the bottom image shud b revealed when u move your mouse over on the top image... i was able to do this by cutting the top image in parts and making buttons which become invisible on roll over... but is there a better way??? cause tommorow if i have to change the image i'll have to redo the whole file... am using flash 4.... can smone help??

this is a follow up to a quastion i asked yesterday(thanks for the reply)

im making an interactive greeting card where u can drag, scale and rotate objects on screen to design your own card.
what i want is to let a "user" design a card and then send it to a friend.
the friend will open a link and see what the user designed for him.

Scratch Card
Has anyone any idea how you could scratch through an image to display another image below. I guess it would be something like a lottery scratch card?

I've tried doing it using graduated opacity but it doesn't look right. I'm guessing it will take some wizzy scripting to make it look good.

i need some help with a card game pls
its very important
there are not any rules, but something like this maybe,
2 players, 1 computer and 1 human, you get
5 cards from the start, and you can put them out as
you want and as many you want. When you are ready click
a button then a textbox will appear. There you have to write
why you did it and then klick "OK" when you have done that you
gonna get new cards (you shall always have
5 cards, so if you got 2 cards left and klick the button
you shall have 3 new cards, and if you got 0 cards left you
gona get 5 new)and the first person that is out of cards win,
This is not any good idea for a card game :P but its a birthday
present to someone (its a joke, but you can impossibly understand
it :P) but i really really need som help pls !

E-Card Question
Hi,

I hope this questionn will not sound totally stupid. I need to make an e-card, just one, that will not be posted on any site for anyone to customise it. I just want to send it out myself, with one message, to several people. The question is, do I simply make a flash movie and mail it out, or is there something else that needs to be done in order for it to look and feel like an ecard? Like is there a way to e-mail it so that whoever opens their email sees it right away, or does it have to be an attachment, or a link?
Any tips on that topic would be greatly appreciated!

Send An E-card
Hi,

I made a holiday e-card using flash and would like to email it out to people. Does anyone know how I can send it out attached to the email so when people recieve the email they see the card playing?

I've tried looking for an answer online, but so far haven't found one. I'm using Entourage to send the email and couldn't find in answer in their help either.

I'm making a christmas card to be sent to relatives. I was wondering the best way to send it? Should I post it on a website and e-mail the HTML code? Or should I just send the .swf file? My relatives are not very computer literate so I want to do it so there is minimal computer problems.

Scratch Card
I've made a scratch card... similar to the lottery type tickets you buy in stores you can see it here:

Now I need to fix this so I can control what numbers and how frequently they appear behind the scratch off grey area. I'd like to be able to use sevearl different images behind the scratch off and have a specific winning combination show up every 10th time the game is played, another combination every 25th time and another every 51st time. (10th, 25th and 51st are just for discussions sake. They may or may not be the real numbers). If a winning combination is uncovered, the visitor can click a button and be taken to a specific frame associated with the prize they win. This last part I know how to do by naming the frame and coding the button to take the play head there. Having the numbers/images appear in the way i want... I ahve no idea where to start.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I've been searching around and can't seem to find the answer that I'm look for.

I want to make a site that will let people buy cards.
Nothing too fancy, I just want the customer to pick a template and then pick from a list of pictures I have, let them type in the text that they want on the card. When they finished the design, I would like them to enter the amount of quantity and click the Submit/Buy button.

Now I'm stuck here, once they've click the Submit/Buy button, I just don't know what to do.
I don't know how to receive their orders, how to get their contact/delivery address etc.

Can anyone please direct me to the right place please?

Flip Card
I'm trying to create a flash movie via actionscript which gives the effect of flipping over a two sided photo around the center axis.

That is, spin it along the axis, which goes from the top center to the bottom center.

Every Possible Two-card Combination
lets say I had:

ActionScript Code:
deckA = ["1", "2", "3", "4"...]
deckB = ["1", "2", "3", "4"...]

both arrays had the same 52 numbers, corresponding to playing cards in a regular deck, is it possible to loop through the first array, matching each element up with each element of the other array, and trace out every possible two-card combination? with this script I could rule the world.

i am trying to make a card game where when u click on a btn a function chooses a random number then based on that random number an instance of a certain card is created, and it cannot be created again due to the fact that there is a boolean varyable that i check when i try to make the card, and if the card was made already it cannot be made again and it trys to draw another card. it wont do any of this if the number of cards draw is = to the amount of cards there are.

i made something like this, but i wana use less functions and ifs as of now i have a big mess, how would u guys do it

I made a scratch card game once for a company so I know it can be done but I can't remember how to do this.

I need three panels which generate a random image everytime it loads but over the top of these images needs to be a silver panel which can be scratched off by the user to look like a real scratch card.

Card Game Help
I have a game named Tripoley.

What happens is the dealer shuffles the deck, and passes the cards out to everyone, until all the cards are dealt out. He gives every player 1 deck, plus makes an extra deck. If the dealer doesn't like his hand, he can switch his deck with the extra deck. Whatever deck he doesn't choose does not get used for the rest of the game.

The person on his left plays their lowest red/black card, 2 being the lowest number, face up in the center of the board. The next number of the same suit is played by whoever has it. When nobody has the next card in the same suit, the last player to play plays their lowest card of the opposite color of what was played last. (If a four of hearts was played last, a low black card has to be played next).

Does anybody have any tips on how to make this game?
If you don't get these instructions, or you need the rest, I can post them.

Hello all

I have been stuck on a problem for quite some time now, and I think I could use some direction on this project, and maybe just some ideas on how to accomplish what I want to do.

I have been working on a frame-by-frame animation of a card flipping over. Something that looks like what's seen on this site:

I would like to be able to use the envelope distort on my cards. The only problem is that they need to be made into vectors first in order to distort them. As you can imagine, this balloons the size of my file. I would like to achieve the same sort of flipping style as what's on this site.

Any ideas on how to distort a complex vector - or better yet, a graphic, would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Flash 8.

I'd even appreciate any completely different approach to this problem, though I don't have the money to buy any other programs such as after effects.... :(

Card Test
Hi all,
I have been trying this for weeks now with no avail. I am not an advanced coder by any means and dont even know the best way....so many options.

I have 5 cards...each with a different symbol i.e. cross, circle, square, triangle, spiral. The user will pick from their favorite symbol....to their least favorite. Right now I have the 5 cards with numbers below them....and input text boxes where they put in the number. After they make their choices a form letter comes up with their choices in the sentances. Here is where it gets difficult.....what I would like is for them to just click the card and it will store the information (which place its in)...here is the real tricky part.......each card has a different answer depending on what place they clicked it in. i.e. If they hit the circle card first (the favorite) the answer that would fill in the blank of the form letter would say "Happy" if they hit the circle card last (least favorite) it would fill in the blank of the form letter wth "sad", I have racked my brain on this....I am only going to use the 1st, 3rd and 5th places for the calculations.

I just dont know ....variables, arrays...if then statements????? EEEEEK

My New Card Trick
Hello all,

I have been working on an animation in which a playing card flips over. I would like to make the card clickable so that when the user clicks on the card, the animation begins. When the user clicks on the last frame of the flipped card animation, I would like the card to flip back to its original position.

I would appreciate it if someone would look at my fla and see if this is possible. I did a frame-by-frame animation in a movie clip of the card flipping. The movie clip, once on the stage, has a tween to make it fly to the left slightly, and change its colour properties - so it is not a conventional setup!!
