elo there, id like to ask if there's a possible way to edit the content of a flash document? let say i want to edit the text in my news section and add or upload another picture without opening the fla files or uploading the image directly in the webserver.... like when you upload your picture in friendster, you can directly view the result in seconds.

Flash Content Manager
Hey. Anybody know how to make a flash file that can edit content in another flash file. I know it can be done with a text file, but it would be nice to have a flash interface so clients can change content in their flash sites. and maybe even be able to change graphics as well. Ive looked for a tutorial but have found nuthin.

Flash Site With Content Manager (CMS)

I need to make a site 100% in flash but this site has to be update by the client.
So my is how to add more pages to the site with a content manager?
I read the forums and i understand how to dynamic create more menus without any problem with a CMS using xml, i also know how update a specific part of the site. i mean i can create dynamic text fields and update them with no problem also using xml. Well i can update fields that allready exists on the flahs it self. but in case that my client decide to add a new menu.. it has to redirect to a specific frame where the content of that specific theme is but if it don't exist.. what can i do?
anyone explain me how to do that?

Does Transition Manager Cancel The Tween Manager Effects ?
because as soon as I try to combine both transitions, one doesn't work
Example : onRollOver, a movie clip is supposed to fade in with pixel dissolve effect and of course onRollOut to "Yoyo".As far as I can go, only the fading goes on but the pixeldissolve effect does not work.
Can you help me or it is simply not possible.

Overwriting SWFs And HTML In The File Manager
Man I been up half the night trying to figure this stuff out , but I can't. How can i override old Flash 7 SWFs in tripod file manager. It does not work when i try to change a file with the exact same name. And the converted HTML files from Flash 7 are not able to show up when i preview them on Tripod file manager. What's up...are there any sites out there that can support Flash 7 and the overriding of files with the same exact case-sensitive name???...If so, tell me please so i can just get my site running....Thx alot

[CS3] How To Delay Html Content Until After Flash Content
I am working on a site where I want to have a few flash elements on the page ( i.e the navigation and the logo. ) to animate in before the the a block of text ( in a div) will be shown. The flash elements will stay on screen and be used after loading as the nav with interaction.

I don't want it to be a true flash intro before the site ( I already have one actually). I would rather it be a sequence that becomes visible as the page loads.

As I am typing I am wondering if this needs to be done in javascript or if it can be done via the embed parameters.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Easy Content Boxes
Sup,

I've been working on this project to use for my own site for a bit now, and learning Flash at the same time (almost a month now). Basicly all it is is an easy to use system for content to be placed on a box. Like the resizing boxes you see everywhere. The only difference (ATM) is the box can be minimized and closed. I plan on adding the ability to maximize, and bounds (ie. cant go past x/y position), amoung other things. If you want you can see the documentation: http://missionsecondary.sd75.mission...umentation.rtf I estimate this project is about 50% of my site, so my sites half done of what this is done ATM (aka. basicly none of my site accept this project is done yet).

The class is 575 lines long, but I estimate 40% is comments and commented out code. ATM the source isn't available for download, because I would prefer to organize/optimize/etc., and probably wont be until v1.0.0. However, if anyone really does want to see the unorganized beast, I could send the files (along with the site, to show usage) via email. I have plans to make it much easier to use, and customize, in the future.

What I wanted was to get peoples opinions on something. I was thinking about making the boxes have a zoom blur effect, which should make it look less odd when docking, and better when changing its specs (size/position), but would it make it look cooler? or cheesy. I'm sure a blur effect would look great on a gaming style website or something, but I'm not sure its right for every site, so maybe make it an option? I want to know because in order for it to be successfully incorperated I should probably look into doing it right away (so I dont have to backtrack to add the feature). I also think it would be cool to add a feature like http://www.thibaud.be/ when you throw the boxes, but add the blur effect (which I've seen a tutorial on, throwing with a blur). Opinions?

I also wanted to know if anyone spots any bugs, because ATM the only real "bugs" I know of is the menu isnt in synch with the windows (but thats not part of the class). The menu is not part of the class. I also wouldn't mind suggestions, hehe, because I love adding to the to-do list.. and aspiring to make a very complete system.

There is no preloader yet, and the size/process might be huge because it isn't optimized yet. I could change the speed and the way the position/size go easily, but this is the best I could think to have it. ATM no content is on the boxes, but in the future it will flash onto there (or whatever intro is customized).

Website Easy Upload/updgrade Content
Hello... Currently I'm organizing a website for a Magazine, which has to be updated every 2 days, and honestly, to be opening GoLive everytime, saving text here, pasting there and blah blah... I wonder if there's anyway or software, that's easy to use so I can just PASTE the text into a window that automatically will replace the new text (and picture). Specially because some of the sections must be updated by the writers, which, most of the time, have no idea what GoLIVE is... If anybody knows a software, or maybe even Microsoft Office has some tool to do it, I would appreciate it so much.

URGENT: Flash Navigation Embedded In Html That Link To Frameset Content In Html
Hi all,

I want to build a website that consists of a menu navigation (made in flash but embedded in a topframe in dreamweaver. On the left site, there would be some flash animations (images etc.)embedded in the leftframe and in the right/main frame, there would be either flash content or html content (depending on the content). The menu bar is made of 7 buttons; when you mouse over a button, you get a scrolling menu with different items, those buttons items have a rollover effect and when you click on one of this items it will load either a flash or html content in the right/mainframe of my dreamweaver site. My question is what is the best way to build this navigation bar so that when i click on one of this item, it will load the correct content in the right/main.frame.html. When this occurs, i want that the scrolling menu still displays while the content is loading so that when the visitor have seen the content, he just needs to click to another item to load the content (so no ectra step). Please help me with this as it urges.
Be clear in your responses as i am not a pro of actionscrit!

How To Make Flash Content, Easy For Users To Update?
Hello, and thanks for taking the time.

I'm creating a store map for a company that
is updating at least once a month their list of
current stores. And they want to be able to update
the map on their own, but I have no idea on how
to make it easy for them (not knowing flash) to do
the following:

1.Add another store name.
2.Add the corresponding address and picture.
3.Add the corresponding store map.

So my question is:
Is there any program that lets user update their data
and pictures without messing with flash?

Html NavigationFrame To Content-html-Frame?
Hello,

I have the following problem.
I a frameset with two frames: 1.farme called navigation. 2.frame called content.

'mmkaay, now I have a navigation.swf loaded in the navigationframe. and I a loadtext.swf in the conent-frame.
the loadtext.swf has in keyframe 1 a mc called mcText with an actionscript

loadVariables("texturl", "mcText");

in the mcText there is textfield with the variablename text

now I want change with a buttom in the navigation, the variable of the path of the text-file which contents the text for the mcText.
the style of the txt-file is like this: text="hello poeple....."

so if i press in navigation.swf buttom 1 the path in loadtext should change to the file path of text1.txt.
also the same with buttom 2 the path schould change to text2.txt.
and so on....

I think I schould do it with the ne MX connect comand, but I don't understand how.

Easy Way To Fix Bad-formed Html/xml?
I'm reading and displaying RSS feeds in a TextArea. One of my feeds, however, likes to embed poorly-formatted HTML, such as <img width="50" height=100> (no quotes on one of the params) which kills HTML display.

Does anybody know of an easy way to fix this, ie to add the quotes into tag's parameters if they are not there? Damn Flash is finicky!

Quick And Easy Html Question
ive got the html file that flash published w/my swf embedded in it and i want to swf to be centered on the page. i fooled around with the html publish settings but to no avail. there is a param in the html file named ALIGN="" and i tried just typing in center, CENTER, and even CENTRE, but none of those worked. does anyone know how i can fix this? thanks

Embedding SWF In HTML.. Easy Question.

Im currently working on a flash site with a resoloution of 750x550. I want to embed that into a html file as standard but i want to embed it into the middle of the page/screen. I mean directly in the middle of the page. I have the SWF file embedded into a HTML page already but the SWF is appearing top middle. Also i'd like the browser scrollers to dissapear if possible...

Centering A Swf Above Html Content
I need to have a swf act like a pop-up and sit over html content, invisible until a link is clicked. Using DIVs and z-index I was able to do this, but only with absolute positioning. How can I get the swf to remain centered in the browser window rather than just a given distance from the side and top?

Flash Going Over HTML Content
If you go to www.yahoo.com, over to the right you'll see a tiger woods advertisement (the one on tv, for buick or whatever) but the ad content is not what i'm after, it's how they get the content to fly accross the other html content, even making the html content disapear for a moment, only then to reappear once the flash movie is done. I love this affect, but can not for the life of me figure out how they're doing this. It obviously looks like his has to do more than just Flash, probably Dreamweaver too, any thoughts? I've noticed some web sites will use flash to advertise products by loading a transparent movie right over top of the html content. once the movie ends, the regular html contect is seen again without refreshing or switching the page. Does anyone know how this is done?

Displaying HTML Content
Hy all,

I'm quiet new to AS3 so maybe, I'm just doing something wrong.
I'd like to load a text/html file with html tags and display it through a TextField (because TextArea doesn't seem to work).

The code so far is pretty simple:

I placed a Flash web site on the www but it doesn't look centered, big enough, etc. Is there any recommended index.html file that I can see as an example. On mine I am calling main.swf. I also noticed that the main.html file generated by the publish option in flash doesn't call the .swf. Any comments or sugestions?...thanks

Controll Swf Content Via Html?

Im totaly new to actionscript, and realy need some help.

Ive looked around a bit, too see if I could find the answer to my question. But I can´t find it easy explaind.

This is what I whant to do:
I got some images (logotypes), that I want to control a swf movie with.

It sholud work like this (I think):
1. You move mouse over on logo
2. at the same time, a symbol apears inside swf
3. when moving mouse over a nother logo, another symbol shows in another place inside the swf.

How do I make this happen?
Anyone knows a beginner tutorial, or knows how to do it?

Html Tags In Dynamic Textbox - Should Be Easy
Is there some kind of order that html tags have to be in to work? I have this in my textfile:

sortMC=Memos <a href = "www.blahblahblah.com">blah website</a> 

The underlined colored text link to "blah website" works fine as does all text coming after the last break tag (not shown here). However the first part - Memos doesn't work (that first does though as I can see the breaks in between sections of text that I have set up). Is there a simple explanation for this? I have tried using also and still no luck.

Fla Navigation With HTML Content In Table
Hello, I'm wondering if this can be done: I need to have a flash navigation bar at the top of the table, with HTML content in other parts of the table. I know this much can be done. However, i would like to be able to navigate through the different HTML content pages via the flash navigation bar, without reloading the flash bar every time i load a new HTML page. Can this be done, since they would be in the same table? Any example code would be great, as I am obviously just learning this stuff. Thanks!

I was wondering how you get content to appear in a browser so that it appears over static content line html and stuff, without resizing or re-orienting the page.
I saw today that on the msn homepage, there are advertising the new msn 8. It opens over the text and images.

How Do I Remove The Border Around My MX Content I HTML
Im getting a border around my embeded MX content.
I know you could have this problems when using HTML.

i recall there was some comands to remove the borders i HTML, so that my Flash content fully fits in my popup window.

i think that should resolve it!?

Getting Flash To Play Over HTML/CSS Content
Hi,

I am trying to get a flash drop down menu to play over the top of HTML content. I have built the site using a simple 3 column CSS template, and whilst I can get the Flash menu to play over the top of the CSS in most browsers (using Z-Layers), I am having trouble getting it to work in IE6.

Importing HTML Files For Content.
I'm completely lost. ):
I've read through some of the posts here, and nothing seems to quite be what i'm looking for.

I just want to basically make it so that i can import html files into scrollable (or non-scrollable) boxes within my flash movie.
I'm making a flash site for my mate and he needs to be able to easily edit content.

I'm sure its really simple, i just can't find anything about it anywhere or fiqure it out.
Any other methods or ways of easily managing content would be extremely helpful.
