Flash :: Equalizer-type Sound Bars

Does Anyone Know How To Make Equalizer Bars?
i am putting audio in my site and i want to have equalizer bars in it.

my thoughts on how it would be made;
for each Hz level build its own movie clip that reads that Hz, and then make the bar, a tween from quiet position to full and have it play every time the audio on the site hits that Hz. im not much of a programmer so i have had a hell of a time trying to do it myself but i hope some one can help.

i've seen equlizers in flashkit sound download section which actually run according to the sound they are playing...
is it thru action script or is it animated...(which is unlikely the case as then it has to be made for each sound clip)...
if its done thru actionscripting...how to go about it...

Hello,

Does anyone know how to make sound bars that actually react to the sound being played? I'm not sure how to explain what I mean but there is an example on http://www.heavy.com ...when you get into the page a song will start to play and in the top right corner of the screen you will see a sound equalizer moving with the music... how is this done?

Hi guys, im interested in making a sound equalizer...but not the kind you use to adjust the Bass, High End, Mid range, etc... I mean like the Visualizations you have in Media Player, WinAmp, iTunes, etc...
(if you look in Media Player under Visualizations---=>Bars and Waves---=>Bars..... I want to create a simple one like that )

i dont even know where to begin with this in ActionScript...The only thing i can think of is to increase the bar length to equal to the sound LEVEL, in certain ranges...
eg... 0-10hz = Bass, 10-60hz = Mid Range...etc...

I dont even know if this is possible...or if theres another way of doing this...
But i figured if I could find the answers im looking for, this is the place to ask...

Any help and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.

i downloaded the sound equalizer in flashkit. my problem is, i can't create my own data.swf.

do i need the flashtrak player? i can't even download it from flashkit. anyone pls help!!!

The sound eqalizer found on some pages. How is that done?? and is there a tut or a .fla out there that some one knows about. I would love to have something like that on my site. But I cannot seem to get one to got to the music like the ones I have seen do....

Hi,

I'm currently creating a equalizer for a webbased mp3player.
The visual part is a movieclip with (in my case) 15 frames.

I'm far from an audio expert and I have no idea how to handle this.

What I would like to accomplish:
I want the movieclip to respond to the beat.
When a heavy beat (lets say 100%) comes around, i would like the playhead of the movieclip to gotoAndStop() to the last frame.
When there is no music at all, or some soft noise, the playhead should be somewhere around frame 1-3.

I hope u understand my question and I hope someone can help me.

I heard that you need to turn an mp3 file into swf and add some variables (heard about a program that does it automatically) and then "loadMovie" from another swf that "reads" the variables in the first swf... I don't know... Something to do with streaming and timelines... It's just too much for me!

Is there any easy way to do this???

FlashAmp won't help because it only scales objects in sync to VOLUME, not bitrates...

when you play a sound...
you see some bars in the rectangle going up and down....
they are going up and down synchronised with the music...

does anyone know how to make that???

I'm am trying to make a jukebox with FlashMX, I want to make it so some bars go up and down acording to the sound trac, and so there is a small meter that goes across a line to show if it is close to the end or not. How do i do that?

i have an HTML site with flash movies embedded within the page. i want to create a sound bar in flash and put it into my HTML page. i would assume it would play if you clicked on play, but my problem is, since the whole site isn't flash, when you click on different pages would the sound continue to play as you navigate without pausing? i don't think it would, but if somebody knows how to do this, please let me know. i'm a n00b at flash.

Volume Bars Moving To The Amplitude Of The Sound?
You know like on winamp and some stero systems, the louder the little green bars that go up and down for the amplitude, and in specific decible ranges? is this possible and is there a tutorial somewhere with information on this?

Fancy Box Type Moving Graphic Type Cool Efect But Im To Dumb Type Thingy
i am tring to make a box thinky simaler to the one on www.starvingeyes.com but cant even work out how to start it. is there anyone who can point me in the right direction or to a tutorial ?

the box has a graphic inside a grided box the sections of the graphic fade in and out as the mouse goes over them and displays random sections when the user is not moving the mouse over the box

i did find java tutorials for this effect but would much preffer it to come from flash as java is a bugger to get working on some machines

[MX] Animated Menu Wit EQ Bars/Visualization Bars
Hi, I'm new. I've been around the world of flash, but I never really used it heavy. Only for buttons and sideshows. I want to try and make a navigation menu, with visualization bars in the background moving up and down as usual. Then put some buttons with a rollover effect. I know it is possible because I had used layers to have something animated in the background. Is it possible to do that? Does it kill a lot of bandwidth?

Type In Text = Play Sound

I'm very much confused about how this has been done in Director and whether it is possible in Flash MX.

I've seen a CD Presentation made in director. In which you get a type in text place where you've to type the text "Bailamos" and the Enrique's Bailamos song will play which is been kept in Database. And if you type wrong spell, it'll not play.

I hope you'll got it and if it is possible please tell me how i can do it in Flash.

Import Sound File Type
I've created music and sound FX in Garage Band (on MAC, of course) and want to use the files in a flash anim being built on a PC. What file type should I import the sound files as (something rather uncompressed, preferably, because the animation will ultimately be compressed into MP4 and I'm trying to avoid compression over compression)? And what's the best way to export out of Garage Band (it seems to be sorta difficult...)?

Best Type Of Sound File Format To Use With Flash?
I am trying to figure out the best way to use music incorporated with a small flash music manager I made.

If you visit : http://www.storyoftheyear.net (awesome band, btw!) you will see their music player that loads in the bottom right corner and plays entire clips of their music.

I got the idea from there and incorporated it to my site at http://www.usdphidelts.com and made a my music player with a XML backend to point to small .mp3 clips. The files aren't very big, but they take FOREVER to load.

Any ideas how I can get INSTANT music like on the SOTY site?

Smaller Size File Type For Sound In Flash?
what is the smallest file type to save the sound in, so the movie loads faster, obviously not wav, for a 30 second intro, and ive been using mp3 format, but that also is just way too slow, for it to load anywhere near 1:30 with dialup, i had to drop the mp3 sound format down to speakerphone format hehe.so any suggestions on the format to help it load faster, thank you so much.and also any suggestions on what program to use to convert it, would also be very much appreciated.thanks so much laters =)

Slider Bars, Or Scroll Bars?
I'm looking at a web site that used scroll bars to move around a picture (.jpg) file. It is rather advanced since it also does a zoom in and out. I wanted to duplicate the pan feature, but I haven't seen it done anywhere else. Does anyone have any simple solutions to duplicate the features shown at this website?:

OK I have a swf called audio.swf which just contains a 15 minute streaming audio file that it just dragged along the time line.

I want to have some visual indicators in the swf, so that the user has some info of what is going on:

What I require within the swf are the following:

1.Progress Bar: How much of the movie has been played. This will obviously go up as the timeline for the swf progresses.
2.Streaming bar: Giving the user an indication of the amount of swf that has currently been downloaded.
3.Time (minutes and seconds) that the movie clip has been playing for
4.Elaped time (time remaining)

As you can see I have attached no fla, as I am sure that these 4 visual indicators are all fairly simple to code of any of you action script daddies out there.

Any help on one or all the 4 things I require would be brilliant.

If anyone could help me this would be more than appreciated.
