i've developed flash graphs of baseball teams using mx 2004. the idea is to copy how wall street analyzes stocks and apply it to baseball. anyway, here's my question: how can i get a gif or a jpeg of the swf movie (after its run through the data). exporting does me no good as it just copies fla screen.

right now i'm using a Screen Grab Pro but that's taking quite a while. any help would be greatly appreciated because i'd love to rattle off 30 or so gifs in a few minutes.

Is this possible? Say I have a user insert certain text onto a image using flash which would not be hard, but then is it possible to export the image as a jpeg for the user to download? The seems impossible but I figured it might be possible.

Poor Image Quality When Loading JPEG File Using MovieClipLoader.loadClip()
I have a JPEG file that looks fine in Photoshop. When I load it into a movie clip using MovieClipLoader.loadClip() API it renders in much poorer quality than the original. I tried setting _highquality = 2 on the target movie clip object to no avail. Please help.

Exporting From Swf To Jpeg
is it possible to export a frame of a flash movie into ja jpeg file using the flash player? i mean, if i have a customiseable flash movie (a painting program for example) and i play it and i edit it (i draw a picture), how can i make the end result into a jpeg or any other picture format? is it possible? if not, then how can i put my drawings (made in the flash painter-movie) into the web without the possibility of others editing the picture? can i make the flash movie somehow administratable so that when i log in, i can create the picture and when i'm done creating the picture, everyone else can see it but not edit it?

Exporting A Movie Clip To A .swf File?
Hi guys,

I've just finished my site and everything's looking rather flashy (excuse the punn) but unfortunately it's taking a little too long to load up on a 56K modem.

I've heard splitting your movie up into numberous .swf files can help but I was wondering if there was any EASY/quick way of doing this since I've already made the site in one single file.

I have a movie clip whose content I want to make into a new .swf file but when I do the 'Copy frames' and paste into a new project all the layers are in the wrong position and I don't wanna spend ages going through it moving everything around. Is there an easier solution????

Movie Exporting / .as File Problem
This is kind of a strange problem. Im using AS 2 and external .as files. I have a file called "Fighter.as" but changes I made to it didnt change the movie at all.
This really perplexed me, so I deleted everything inside it, (except what It needed to compile without errors) and when I test the movie, It doesnt error, and it acts like the file is still functioning fine! (but theres nothing in it!)

This is really baffling me!
Please Help!

Exporting A Swf Snapshot As A Jpeg
Yo. So im making a little flash game where you simply drag and drop stuff (remember the eggplant in flash 5? kinda like that). And i want it so that when the user is finished, they can click a button, which produces a 'snapshot' of the swf, which can then be used later in a page or whatever as a jpeg or gif. Im SURE i saw someone say there was a way of doing this once, perhaps using one of the PHP functions aimed at flash. Can anyone help?

Exporting JPEG Via Actionscript
Hi guys!
Ive created a kinda Image Randomizer, so I create images controlling interactively opacity, blend modes and so on...
The problem is that I want that the visitor can save a copy of the piece he created, I thought that maybe there's a way to export the content of a movie clip for example via AS. Not in the software inself, I mean when the movie plays and the visitor interact with it.
Or maybe the posibility to print a movie clip, or the complete scene, or something like that.
Any ideas guys???

Launch Windows File Browser For Jpeg File Import To Flash?
I would like for the users of my interactive piece to be able to click on a button which says, 'import file'. This would launch the usual windows open file browser window to appear. Then the user could import an image file. This file would load into a holder movie clip and then would stretch or shrink to fit into a size of my choosing, i.e. 400 x 300. Is this possible? I imagine it might be using flash to call some javascript but I could use some advice.

Each time i export the image that I need it appears in the upper left hand corner...its basicaly cut off...

the layers are inside a MC does this matter?

I want to match frames from one movie to a another for a transition.

How Do You Make A Button Thats Saves The Contents Of The Movie As A .jpeg File?
ive been checking out actionscript commands in the dictionary but i could not find any to use for a save button.

Does anyone know how to make a save button that when pressed saves the content of the movie window as a .jpeg image file?

It would be even better if when pressed the user gets a window were he can choose file name and location to save file to.

Exporting EPS Image From Flash - Masking
I want to export from Flash an EPS file of a logo.

The logo has a part that I have built using masking and a gradient fade which dont seem to export with the EPS I just get blocks of colour where they are.

Is there a way of 'flattening' a flash movie before exporting an image from it so working parts like masks arent there?

i am trying to create a simple online paint program where a blank canvas sits next to a menu of vector objects, of which you can drag/drop on the canvas. my goal is that once you are satisfied with it, you click the 'publish' button, and the vector-based drawing would be sent to an email address in a vector format (.ai, eps) instead of the jpg format.

[Q] How Do You Load JPEG Image Sequences Into Flash And Play?
Howdy...

I am given 9 image files that I need to load into Flash dynamically and play them all in sequence... (Imagine 9 individual images of the clouds and it generates a movie when you do the flip book thing...)

The only way I can think of is to load all into one holder_mc and there will be 9 individual subholder_mcs underneath it... and once the images are all loaded, I can change the depth to simulate the play, but it sounds very clumsy to do...

How do you go about that???

[MX04] Exporting From Flash To QT Image Quality Very Poor

A novice flash user. I am using flash to create a slide show from a series of stills, photoshop highres jpgs. I need to burn this slide show onto a dvd and play it of a dvd player on a plasama screen. Now here is the problem: the quality of images in the final product is really bad.

Here is what i have done so foar so i can burn it on a dvd on idvd.
I created the slide show in flash as flash document, exported form flash as quick time movie and the menu chose dvpro...., there are quite a few options for it and none make any difference, imported the movie into idvd and burned the dvd.

any suggestions will be appreciated, I am very very very very dessparate!!!

Image Quality Poor When Exporting From Illustrator Into Flash
Hi guys

i've drawn a teacup in illustrator which looks fine.
I export as a .swf in illustrator to import into flash however the image quality of the teacup when the movie is played is very poor.

This is the teacup in illustrator

and this is what it looks like when imported into flash as a .swf and played as a movie

Can anyone provide me with suggestions for how to maintain a high image quality between illustrator and flash mx?

the teacup is made up of meshes in illustrator.

Exporting Flash As An .exe File
Ok... everytime I buy a new CD that has the "Enhanced CD" logo I get all jittery to see what the content is. Most often, the content is a simple autorun textfile that redirects to a Macromedia Projector Application file. Now, I'm relatively sure that Projector files come out of Macromedia Director software. So here's the question... Can I create these same applications in Flash. If so, how do I successfully add the .exe extension to the Flash file. Is this something which requires the use of Extension Manager?

JPEG/GIF Image Quality - Sheared Diagonal Lines In Flash MX
Hi Everyone,

I have a reccuring problem with imported jpeg's and gif's in Flash MX. Basically whenever I import them if the image has a strong diagonal line in it, Flash will render the movie so that the line looks sheared and really crappy. The quality of the jpeg's are specially awful, I am making sure that I have imported them at the exact size I need them and dragging and dropping them straight into the movie form the library menu.

I have tried the trick of putting them into a movie clip and setting the opacity at 99% ( a good trick to stop rasterized images 'moving' or 'creeping' when you have a vector animation in the layer above ). But they still look like sh*t, HELP!

Flash MX 2004 Pro Exporting To Mov File
Hello all...

Can someone assist me with this issue? I am attempting to publish my FLA as a MOV file and I consistently get a Flash/Quicktime error when publishing stating that "the installed version of Quicktime does not have the handler for this Flash movie file"? Not sure what this means. I have Quicktime Pro 6.5 installed and I also attempted to do this with Flash MX and MX 2004 Pro...same issue..

This worked before..but with a different fla. But this comes up for many of my files...and furthermore...what's the point of the EXPORT feature if that doesnt work properly either? I attempted to export the fla as an AVI file and the animations are not working properly and it is real slow! The FLA I am using is only an animated logo, but the stage is set for 1800x1200 res...please help.. Thanks!

Exporting A Flash File To Play On A Dvd
I use Flash 5 and I'm having trouble converting my Flash files into a format that plays well on a DVD machine.

This is what I've done so far:

Converted FLA to a MOV file. Using some software, I managed to convert this into an AVI file. I then burned this AVI onto a DVD and sat back to watch on my telly. The result was:

* sound was completely missing
* picture quality was reduced
* the final scene only stayed on the screen for a split-second, instead of 30 frames followed by an actionscript stop

I'm using some trial software to convert the files from MOV to AVI - FE Convert Drop Shareware was the one. I couldn't get WinMPG Video Convert to work. Perhaps the trial software reduces quality and completely misses out sound?

Any tips?

Does anybody know a way of loading a JPEG into a flash file?
(not through Flash, but after it's already published)

Example:

Let's say I have 100 JPEG pictures.
When I click on the button "Picture 1" the picture pops up.

Exporting A Part Of A Flash Video To A File...
Is there a tutorial here or anywhere else that shows how to export what is seen in the .swf to a emailable/printable file? Maybe someone here knows how to?

If that makes no sense, you know those flash apps where you can make a little cartoon character by choosing different things like hair, nose, eyes, etc. and then print or email the finished product? That is essentially what I want to be able to do.

Why Does Flash Increase File Size Of Imported JPEG?
Sorry if this is a daft question, but I saved a JPEG in Photoshop and the file size was 20kb. I imported it into Flash and got info on the bitmap. It says the original size of the file is 120kb. How the heck did that happen? Why did Flash increase the 'original' size of the jpeg when it imported it?

Exporting The Flash Movie
When I export the flash file and drag and drop that .swf file into a browser it shows objects I put outside of the working area...how does one "crop" it, so that anything in the "grey zone" is not there when exporting. Just the work area.

Is there a certain setting that I missed?

Movie Not Exporting In Flash Pro 8
I have no idea what's happening here, yesterday it was working fine. Today I made a new .fla. A very simple movie just a color changing text about 1000 frames long. I test the movie, plays just fine. I export the movie and then embed it in an html page using dreamweaver. I play the movie and all I get is the background color. Anyone know why this is happening? All the other ones that I have made in the past two days were made exactly the same yet they play...Example

Also, within the same pages in the example one will notice some mp3 players. Kustom versions of the Vista 1.0 player. I'm having problems getting those to work properly as well. Only one of them has songs that it can retrieve(A Day Of Dreaming page) yet it only retrieves one of those songs (track 10, for those who want to listen). If anyone's willing to help with that as well I would be gratefull just tell me what codes you need to look at and I'll post them.

Exporting Movie From Flash?
How do i export my animation from Macromedia Flash to video (DivX), so you "get what you see". As it is when I am trying, animations within a movieclip, dosent render after exporting. What should i do? I need to keep the symbols as movieclips, and not graphic.
