FLV Audio Continues To Play



Hello,Into my main SWF, I'm loading an external SWF with an UlLoader component. This external SWF plays an FLV using that respective component. Everything works fine, except that when I close the external SWF from within my main SWF, the FLV audio continues to play.I also ran into the same problem when loading an SWF with embedded video.Thanks in advance!

FLV Audio Continues To Play...
Hello, I am having a small problem, I am playing an external .flv file via myDisplay and myController in my flash document, and it works great, except for when I click on a butotn in the flash timeline to go to another frame...the video and everythihng goes away, but I can still hear the audio playing in the background, any ideas on whats going on? Thanks!

Imported Audio File Continues To Play
After I have imported an audio file into the Flash library it continues to play even after the stop button on the control panel has been clicked.

If I click the play button on the control panel the audio starts to play and the other one continues so I have 2 sounds running.



Audio Continues To Play After Stopped Testing Flash?
I have a Flash with music in it. When I hit Play, the music plays. But when the Flash is done, the music continues until it is done, even though the frames is not enough to complete the song.

So, why does it do this, and how do I stop it when testing? Right now, I have to wait for the entire song to finish, but I would rather not do that.

FLVPlayback Audio Continues Even When Not On The Stage
put an flvplayback on frame 1 along with a button that will take you to frame 2.
put another flvplayback on frame 2.

when clicking the button on frame 1 the audio from the frame1 movie keeps playing even though you're on frame 2's movie

I tried SoundMixer.stopAll(); but that executes after the movie loads so it stops the movie after like 2 seconds.

Why is the sound continuing when the flvplayback is no longer on the screen anyway??

Audio Continues After Popup Window Closed
I have a SWF file that is a shell and loads different SWF files into it. These loaded files have a looping background music. When the user advances in the presentatin (loads different SWF), I stopAllSounds and then initate the looping music again within the new loaded SWF.

The main SWF file plays inside an HTML popup window which is launched from a home page. When this popup window is closed, the audio continues to play. The only way to stop it is to shut down IE.

I don't see how this is even possible. Help please.

Help - Picture Transition Stops - Audio Continues In .exe File
there is audio playing in the background... (boring as all get out) so I had to show stupid random pictures that fade in and out... for almost 3-4 minutes... and about 3 pictures away from the end... the audio in the background keeps playing... but the picture transitions stop. I can even hear the end video (a very short clip) at the end play and stop - so it obviously opened as well... but the frame is still frozen to the one picture. You can still click buttons - and go to a different section, so the program doesn't freeze... its the weirdest thing.

I can't find any thing in the flash file that is stopping it (action script) or effecting it... I have swapped out pictures. Removed the picture all together... deleted and added the layer again. Changed the audio from stream to event... saved as a different file name... still the same thing - at the same place - when published as an .exe

It does not happen when I "play scene"... which makes me think the file is just too big... any suggestions?

Mc Continues To Play After Rolloff On Buton?
what would the script be to continue a mc to finish its
loop while a mouse does a roll off,

(i.e. i have a fading mc that loops from 100%alpha to about
10% alpha while on a rollover in a button. when i roll off the button mc stops on roll off, but i dont want it to continue looping after rolloff, just the finishing loop,.)

How To Play Continues Background Music
I'm having problems on how to play a background sound that doesn't stop when you click on a new link. when i attach the music to one movie when i load the next the sound stops. if i attach music to the other movies, they start at the beginning.. again. help please

Movie Clip Continues To Play
Hi everyone,

I have a simple flash file that works like this: On the first frame is the preloader, then on the second frame there are two images. I've made it so that when someone rolls their mouse over the left image the playhead jumps to frame 3 and when it rolls over the right image it goes to frame 4, and when this happens, i.e. when the playhead is at one of these frames, a simple movie clip plays. The images from frame 2 are also repeated on both frames 3 and 4 and when the mouse rolls out from one of the images the playhead jumps back to frame 2. (I'm using onRollover and onRollout actionscript). On frame 2 I also have a simple movie clip playing through and I've put a stop(); action on the last frame of this movie clip so that it will only play once. The problem is that once it's finished playing and then stops, if a user moves the mouse over one of the two images on frame 2 and then the playhead goes to either frames 3 or 4 (as mentioned) then back to frame 2 again, the movie clip that I only wanted to play once, will start playing again. Even though I have the stop action on the movie clip in frame 2, it continues to loop once the playhead jumps to frame 2.

The stop action seems to work if the playhead stays where it is but because I have the other rollover actions happening, it will always jumps back to frame 2 and cause the loop.

Would anyone have any suggestions how I can prevent this movie clip from playing after it's played through once?

Movie Continues To Play Even With Stop Action
My movie isn't stopping when there is a stop action. I don't know if its a bug in my site or if its a bug with flash MX. Here is the file home.fla. The error occurs when you click on one of the buttons under the Profile heading. If you look at the Profile Scene you'll see I have stop actions placed at the end of each labeled section. For some reason the philosophy section keeps repeating itself and won't stop even though there is a stop action. Can some please take a look and let me know what I can to fix this. Thanks!!

How Can I Have A Layer Repeating Frames While The Movie Continues To Play On?
Ok basically, I have a movie. During a part of the movie, I want a particular object to continue doing the same thing over and over, but not everything else of course. How would this be accomplished?

Video Stops And Audio Continues - Individual Scenes Work, Together Video Freezes
This is my first flash project ever, but I think I got a handle on layers, scenes, using streamed audio, etc. The sync works for every scene when tested independently. Those exported .swf run fine. But when I try to publish the entire movie as a .swf or .exe or any other format, it always freezes at a certain point. The video stops but the audio continues.

Can anyone help me or give me an idea of where to start diagnosing the issue?

I've resorted to converting each individual .swf into .avis then combining the segments into the video that I want, but, of course, this doesn't retain the size, scalability, and quality benefits of a .swf file. Please help!

Music Continues To Play When You Select "rewind"
When viewing my movie, if I right click and select rewind, the music doesn't rewind with the rest of the movie and so continues to play, however, it starts again when the movie plays so i end up with 2 sound files in the background playing. The first continues to play from where it was and the second starts from the begginning...
The settings i have for the sound are:

Effects: none
Sync: Event, Loop

I tried other ways but but I want the music to continue to play until the user clicks on the "enter" button... all the other ways were stopping the mucsic once the movie finished....

What they want instead of JUST an audio player, is a player that plays certain "secret" audio files if you enter the correct 6 digit number. So imagine a text field and a submit button next to the < || > controls. I'm still getting to know Flash and I have no idea how to create something like this. Anyone have any advice? Any tutorials out there? Info? and finally...this IS possible right?

Steam And Play Audio, Not Load Then Play
I have a ghetto mp3 player put together, the only problem is that i want the audio to play immediately, but right now it loads the whole audio file then plays, which takes way to long. any suggestions?

Audio Won't Play? Help
I have a very short Flash movie that I want to have an .mp3 playing in the background of. I created a new layer for the audio and dragged my .mp3 from the library onto the stage in that layer. Then, I set its properties to streaming (so it will play with the movie).
However, when I play the .swf, there's no sound! Am I doing something wrong?
The .mp3 is about 30 seconds long and it is 64kbps and 44khz.

Audio Won't Play
I have my audio contained in its own move which I want to load into level 30. I have an action on the main timeline with AS to load the movie howver when I check my site there is no sound. If I play the swf on its own there is sound!! please can someone help its driving me nuts.

Audio Won't Play
I'm working on a game for which I made a soundtrack, but I can't get the audio to play... it was working before, but now it won't play. My previous settings were Sync: [Event][Repeat] [1], but naturally, I wanted it to play more than once, so I changed it to Sync: [Event][Loop], but it stopped working. I tried a bunch of different settings, including my original one, re-imported the music, and did just about everything I could think of. Anybody know what's wrong, or how I could fix it?

I'd like to know how to make a 1 stop/play button.

Example:
When movie loads, the music loops start playing. Click on the "Off"button...the music is off and now the button turns into a "Play"button.

Play Audio Where You Left Off?
Is it possible to play audio from where you left off when you click on a new page? The flash movie reloads everytime I visit another page and starts the music from beginning.

I know that there are options like load the music file in a frame or create the whole site in flash but I was wondering if actionscript can do it. Maybe there is a script to map the audio file and save the value via sharedObject every 10 frames or so then load this value in the next page?

Hi, I'm making a small game and was wondering, I have 6 different audio files in my scene. I want to randomly play one when I hit space bar. How would I do this?

Pause / Play Audio
Any ideas on how I can pause my .swf audio (using a "Pause" button, then hit a "play" button to either resume the audio where it stopped or at least restart that same audio segment?

At present, if the scene is "paused" and then the viewer hits "play", the scene resumes at the stop-point, but the audio segment that was interrupted is silent.

Only FLV Audio Play Non-locally
I'm calling a remote FLV file from a remote server using NetConnection and NetStream Classes on AS3..
The remote server has the crossdomain files setted on all allowed..
When playing locally my swf file display the video correctly..
When playing online only the audio is showed from the FLV..

Someone know the reason why, and a possible solution?

Using Flash Only To Play Audio
A client is unhappy with how the mp3 links on their page that I built open up a separate media player (and in some cases blank browser window). So as a solution, I'm considering embedding flash player controls (one for each audio link) so that no separate player will need to open.

As these clients seem to think that this issue is my fault (and not an end user media player issue), they don't want to pay me anything additional to address the issue.

So I'm looking for the quickest solution that will result in several links that bring up audio only and not a visible player or blank page. It occurs to me that this may be something that is done frequently enough that such a solution is available as a module, dreamwever plugin, etc. Any suggestions?

I'm also wondering if it is possible to have an html link on the page that links to an external swf file that will just play the audio without redirecting the page or displaying any visual.

What is the quickest way to accomplish this for someone with no flash audio experience?

How To Play Audio CD In Drive From Flash
Hey everybody, I have a tricky one...
I need to be able to play an audio CD from a projector.
I don't mind if it is an external program that activates or the flash projector itself? Any help???

Note.
I am creating an Enhanced CD that has the Flash projector included and music tracks. This CD works fine in CD players and on a PC the flash projector autoruns.. However, I need for some one to be able to play the music CD either from the Flash projector or an external program executed from the projector.

P.S. What I have tried..
I created a batch file which launches Track01.CDA from a button in the projector. However, with an enhanced CD I realized that tracks are not listed to the operating system only the data files..

Play Automatically Using Audio Player

Loading Audio On A Level (won't Play)
I've been at this all day.

I have a 1 MB mp3 that I want to play on a seemless loop.

To keep down the size of my initial movie, I am loading the movie with the audio on a new level like this:

Streaming Audio, Stop And Play Btn Help
Hello Everyone, I am looking for assistance with what appears to be a line or two of AS, I am using Flash CS3, I am attempting to stream Audio of an MP3 utilizing the Flash MediaPlayback component, I have created a stop and play button, with appropriate names, btn_play and btn_stop and the MediaPlayback component is named music_mc
the audio plays just fine; however I cannot get the buttons to function
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Here is the current action script I am utilizing, I am certain this is incorrect.
But I am uncertain as to how.

Stop Audio Stream? Play Once?
After much messing on, im trying to get a button to be on and off itself, with a stream and have other buttons do the same which in turn turn off those other buttons. I have finally got it to work, its a messy code and the comments are out of line on some of them.

Anyway the problem:

Streams load on top of each other when you press a button, so you could press the button a hundred times and a hundred streams are playing!

Is there no way to have it like this?

Swf Audio Doesn't Play I Dreamweaver
My nav bar swf animation, linkage, and audio play fine. Audio is placed in the swf using AS3 (as opposed to button keyframes). With the swf inserted in the .html file, the animation and links are fine but the audio isn't there. The script loads the audio as a getURL and the mp3s are in the same folder as the swf. Maybe this is a Dreamweaver question, but any advice is greatly appreciated.

Play Audio Through A Defined Device
I am looking for a way to tell flash to play through a secondary USB audio system and not the standard audio card. Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it whether AS or not?

Play External Audio Inside Swf?
Hi

Im looking for some sort of audioplayer in flash wich can load and play audio files with control buttons inside the swf file, but the audio files must be stored on a server (not inside the libary) Is this possible? Maybe with xml? php/sql?

Does anyone got any links for tutorials or samples of something like this? All flash audio payers I can find use the libary to store the files...

Enter Key In Timeline And Play Audio
This is strange and I can't find the setting in MS 2004 Professional v 7.2 4.0.0.32

An audio file is imported to the library.

The timeline is clicked on the audio layer - where the audio should begin.

The audio.wav file is dragged onto stage.

Now, this is done using a template, the same template on 3 different machines and same version of Flash.

This machine works the way we want it.

When the enter key is pressed while the timeline is selected, the movie plays and the audio is heard. If the enter key is pressed again, the audio stops as well as the mc. And audio is heard no matter where the timeline is began playing.

On to other machines, the audio will only play if at the beginning frame of the audio and if enter is pressed again, the mc stops but the audio keeps playing.

What or where is the setting for this?

Well, im having 'fun' with actionscript this month! Im trying to get my tracks to play one after the other, once the previous track finishes, ive used the code below:

In my main scene I have three buttons, each of which reprresents a different song. When the user clicks on "song 1", song one plays. But if you then click on "song 2", song 1 and 2 are playing at the same time. I need to make whatever sound file that's playing stop before the next choice loads.

Oh, and I can't figure out how. That's why i'm here...

After Fade Out, New Audio Wont Play
I just posted a strig about fading out audio at the end of a scene, SEE HERE , it fades out fine now but when the scene changes, the audio in that scene is set to 0 and I cant get it to start at 100!

how can I tell the scene before to stop fading at 0?

Audio: Pause/play In Flash 5

I have a problem with getting audio to play and pause in flash 5.
I have two movies. One has audio in it. The other has graphics. I want to be able to have code on the graphics movie for play pause. The basis of it is as follows:

I would expect the audio movie to load when you press play after pause, and to go to the saved frame number. The frame number etc. are all working but the audio just plays from the start.

Has anyone experienced this problem or have any workarounds, or basically anything that will do this !?!

How Not To Automatically Play Streaming Audio
I have audio associated to rolling over (start) and rolling out (stop) on graphic symbols.
I am loading the audio as streaming when the page loads because I don't want the user to have to wait if they choose to roll over a graphic immediately.

So far everything works fine, with the single exception that I cannot prevent the streaming audio from playing as soon as there is enough to decompress. This means that most all of my sounds on the page start playing at pretty much the same time. Result? Bleeding ears...

Does anyone know how to stop the streaming audio from playing automatically?

Audio Auto Play Problem
Hi All,

I have encountered a problem with Creating a Volume Control Slider tutorial on kirupa.com.

The tutorial is brilliant and I am trying to make some new additions to the file.

I am trying to get the audio file to start playing straight away without any onRelease actions on the play button and the volume to be around 80 when everything loads.

At the moment users have to click the play button and drag the slider to get the audio to play and volume to go up.

I am new to actionscript and flash and any advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

Audio Player Auto Play

I have a nice little flash audio player that i want to include on a website. However I do not want it to auto play. I would like it to be stopped and when the user wants to hear music he/she has to click on the play button. right now the player starts playing when u open the website. What do I need to change?
