Hi, I need someone to make a template for me. My Swish skills are alot better than my HTML skills, I only know the basics. I need a template for the redesign of my website http://www.halflife2source.com To cut down on the page size and to make pages load faster I want to use both Flash and html. This will also help me with search engines a great deal. I want to insert a flash menu along the right side of my page leaving the middle open for html. Afternoon all!

I have been wondering about this for some time. If you look at my website http://www.goose.designs.co.uk and go to electric guitars and then gibson, you can see I have got scrolling dynamic text.

it works great, but now the guys from the shop want to add loads more items to the site.

What I was thinking of doing was rather than having a different page for each guitar or each brand; I would have one page listing all the guitars for that brand under the category they are looking at (electric, acoustic etc) and I wanted to do it so that the users would just scroll through them inside the dynamic text box with the pictures of each guitar linking off to enlarged versions and having the text formatted.

Firstly is that possible and secondly is it massively complicated to do so? and i suppose thirdly would it be better to do in html/dreamweaver?

on a side note, as you can see my navigation buttons are over an image, is this possible to re-create using dreamweaver and alike? with the rollover buttons?

I know there are alot of questions here, I have only just had this idea so it will need refining but i wanted to know if it was possible at all :D

I have seen ppl done this before. They have a normal swf file loaded but when you click on the button (usually portfolio section) it appears a html page or gif image INSIDE the swf file but NOT embedded within the swf.

Help!!!!!!!! It'd be GREAT to know how to do this!

Can I Call In An HTML Page As Is Inside Flash?

Probably not.. but i've seen things happen in Flash lately.
If i have a Flash Movie.. and i have some Square Space like a frame created in it, in a portion of it.. can i call in an HTML Page as it is inside that space? So that the HTML Page is displayed just like any other HTML Page inside that space in my Flash Movie?

Loading An HTML Page Inside Flash Using AS3
I have a source file (test.fla) in the file i have a symbol called "vrviewer". I am trying to load an HTML page inside the viewer (vrviewer). The html page loads 28.ivp using the supplied ivp player called "pureplayer.swf" (this is called out in HTML (28.html).
I would much rather load the ivp file right into flash (if i could) but do not know how to even begin doing that.
I tried using the geturl function to call the html file into "vrviewer", but that did not work.

There is an event class called IVPEVENT in cs3 but im not sure if i can load my ivp file using just the class

Some one please help.

Flash Menu Inside Html Page
I have a flash menu within index.htm that plays an intro sequence, then it becomes a button menu (frame 50). If I navigate to page2.htm, the menu plays the intro again.

Is there any way to stop flash from replaying as each html page loads? I just want it to play once per site visit, then stop at frame 50 for each subsequent html page change.

Flash Xml Gallery Inside Html Page Problem
Hello,
I am having some problems and cannot find a solution. I am building an HTML website with numerous xml flash galleries. I need to keep it very organized to allow easy updates in the future.

Here is how I have the files organized:

inside folder 'gallery' I have a series of other folders: gallery1, gallery2, gallery3 etc... I will use gallery1 as an example:

gallery> gallery1 contents

- gallery1.swf
- images.xml
- image1.jpg
- image2.jpg

Outside of the above folders on the root I have an html page "gallery1.html". This loads gallery1.swf into it.

The problem is I can browse inside the gallery1 folder and open the swf and the images display correctly. But when I try to view it through the HTML page outside of the folder none of the images appear. I assume this is probably something to do with the path I am using and have tried numerous combinations but can not seem to sort it out. I personally don't see why flash wouldn't find the xml file the same as it did before.

I really would like to maintain the same directory tree structure since it suites my needs. Any help would be appreciated.

Linking From Flash Menu Link To Ext. HTML Page Inside A DIV LAYER
I have a page that combines Flash and HTML in Dreamweaver 8. I have my links menu generated in Flash MX 2004. My desire is to have a link (when clicked from the Flash swf menu file) bring in a new html page into an existing LAYER of the same Dreamweaver document. Is this possible? My idea is to not have to reload all the other elements of the page, just the items on the one layer with new content. I know how to do this if the page were all Flash, but this is for an html page using the LAYER div tag.

Scaling Swf Inside Html Page
I created a small web site in flash mx at 1024x768 and it looks fine on my monitor and resolution.
If I wanted to look at it on a different computer and monitor with different settings it doesn't resize to fit. It just looks huge and you have to scroll to see all of it. How would I make an html file that will tell the swf to scale according to the monitor?

Controlling One SWF From Another Inside A HTML Page?
If I set up 2 individual SWF's in a HTML page, can I communicate from one to controll the other? Example when a event is triggered in page.swf it also triggers an event in banner.swf which is in another table on the HTML page.

I also need to include a DHTML navigation bar, can I trigger flash events from a DHTML navigation bar rather then load in a whole new page?

Html Page Inside Movieclip
I am using a wordpress blog for a site I am building, and the only way I have been able to integrate the blog with the site is to getUrl and pop a new window.

Is there a way to wrap the blog in a movievclip so it is integrated with the rest of the app?

I tried loadmovie and it does not seem to do anythiing, I is there some way to do this?

I have searched around and have not found a solution like this anywhere or anyone saying you cant, I am sure someone has done this or wanted to...

Is it possible to control the size of a .swf that is inside an html page?. The problem is that in some cases the .swf must have different sizes. Is there a way (in the html code, maybe)to assign the width and height values of the .swf??

I have a slight problem, I am a rookie or a flash newbie, and I really want to know how to load up an html page of a fixed size inside a flash movie. I'm guessing it is load variables, or get url, but i know with geturl i can only make it open the page in a new page or in the same page, but I want the html page loaded directly into the movie. I have done research and I know that this technique I am using by integrating paypal buttons into my flash movie has been used by many other sites. MX Navbar Inside HTML-page Using Action Script
Hi guys,

I use action script to get 'double disjointed roll-overs' in a navigation bar, don't I (see attached file, never mind crappy design)..?

Q1. Now I need the submenu to stay (the one on the right already works, strangely enough), so users are able to choose them, and to show where they are at, once they made their choice.

Q2. I want to use this nav in an HTML-page. Will the Flash-navbar keep it's state without further ado..? Or do I need to pass variables or something complicated..?

I've developed a website completely in Flash. Now, I have a space in this Flash page where I would like to have, upon a certain button click, load up an HTML page...within the Flash page itself. So, I have the layout, and all the links and all that in the Flash website. In the content area of that Flash site, I want an html page to appear after clicking a certain button, thus turning the Flash into somewhat of a border. Is there any simple way to do this?

Ugly Transition From Flash Page To Html Page
Hi-

I made a flash movie with soundtrack as an intro for my client. At the end of the movie I put a frame action to get URL and automatically jump to the main page of the site. The background color for the site is black, but in between the intro flash page and the main nav page, white flashes for a split second. You can see the work in progress at www.musicbymelinda.com/melindasite/.

She loves the movie, hates the jarring white flash. I tried lengthening the movie, it didn't help ... she does not want to make her viewers click on a button to enter site.

Any suggestions how to make a smooth transition? thanks. -knox

Help - Swap Movie Inside A Movie + Others In Html Page
Using: flash mx 2004

What I have: A html page with two swf files.
"SWF 1" is the main navigation with a "content movie" in it.
"SWF 2" is further information, animation etc.

What I want to do:
1- When I press a button in "SWF 1", I want the "content movie" to swap accordingly to new content without loading base movie over and over.
2- With the same button press, I want "SWF 1" to change the content of "SWF 2" to new content accordingly.

Results I want to acheive:
- I want the flash movie base "SWF 1" to remain while the content changes smoothly without the whole html page refreshing and reloading the main "SWF 1" base.
- I want the "SWF 2" to change smoothly too without the page refreshing and therefore refreshing "SWF 1"

Please help and please feel welcome to give me other solutions to my problem. Thanks in advance.

Hi everybody

Does anybody know how to get Flash to load HTML pages into a seperate HTML page?

I'm currently running an animation within a webpage, and my client would like to be able to have some captions in HTML on the page that go with specific parts of the animation.

He wants the captions done in seperate HTML pages so that they can be changed into different languages at a later date.

I am loading these captions (HTML pages) into <iframes> on the page.

So far so good..... however...

I need to be able to get flash to load the HTML pages into the <iframes>, in certain points within the animation.

So... Does anybody know how to get Flash to load HTML pages into a seperate HTML page?

I'm guessing getURL is used somewhere, but I don't know the exact code.

I have a html/flash site now, http://www.zachariack.com.

i access email from my site itself by giving the userid and pwd text box which i copied from the actual website hosting my email access. i copied the entire
<form...></form> tag to my page and thus was able to put the name and pwd in my home page only and access the email in a separate window.

now i have redesigned my webpage using only flash. i would like to know how i can implement the same using flash. as i have not much experience using action scripting i am a bit stuck about how you pass the hidden form variables. the below is the the exact form syntax:

Put SWF Into HTML Page But How To Also Add Flash Mp3 Player Into Same Page?
For my web-site, each seperate HTML page in dreamweaver mx2004 has a different flash SWF attached to it, but all these flash SWF scenes all have the same background in them for consistency.

The problem is my showreel page, I created a flash SWF ready for dreamweaver, but I also want to incorporate a flash mp3 player I have into the same HTML page!

Can anyone please tell me how to do this?

So here's my dilemma. Got this job to put together a site for a financial company with a friend of mine. We're both more into illustration more than anything else and have basic/ intermediate knowledge of flash but know very little about html..

This company really wants some flash design and were very specific with what kind of animations they want on the page. Thing is though, they're now saying that ranking in a search engine is essential. So we've tried to persuade them to ditch the flash idea completely and have an html only site...but because they really loved what we'd come up with (i personally think it's too much!) they asked if we could try and combine the two....

Any ideas on how we could use the animation as it is as a kind of intro but then have it turn into an html page automatically - without seeing too much difference when it changes? Is it possible to have the html 'under' the flash movie, then have the flash movie fade away and 'unload' to reveal the html page?

Hope this makes some kind of sense!

I am new to Flash. I have a webpage made in Flash, a page made in regular html. I want the user to be automatically directed to the html version if they don't have Flash 8 installed.
I checked out SWFObject but im really confused of what to do. This has been done so many times, there must be an "easy" way to do it. It is javascript code, right? Where do i add the extra code?

HTML Code In Flash To Load An HTML Page In A Frame
Hello.

I have an existing website built in html, with three frames. One on the top for the banner, one on the left for navigation, and a larger window to the right of the navigation for the main content. I want to replace the content in my navgation frame with a flash built navgation menu, and when my menu items are selected, it will load a new page in the content frame.

I currently have this working fine in html. I can make my buttons link to a URL no problem in flash, but how do I tell it to load the content into the other frame? I haven't started this process yet, and figured I'd ask first to get any ideas.

I have a simple .php page and I want to put a flash header in it. I tried putting the flash header into the .php just like I do with an .html page using Dreamweaver, but the flash movie doesn't play / appear.
