Flash :: Flash Kit FX Preview Pane

HTML Preview Works, But Flash Preview Doesn´t
I made a little app. with some display containers and tween (regular) alpha effects. It works fine in the html preview (& file) but it doesn´t in the flash one (containers/layers order/alpha/transitions doesn´t works correctly).

When I upload the files to my server, I have the same problem.

Any ideas about what's going on?

Publish Preview As Flash VS Publish Preview As Html
Ive made a movie that add strings from several input text fields to an array. This array is sent from the flash video to php.
This is working fine when I preview the movie as Flash. The php script prints the variables as intended.

But when I preview it as html the arrays are all empty...
Can anyone tell me why?

Preview In Flash Different To Swf?
here's something strange:

i've got a movie with this simple actionscript:

stop ();
if (key.isdown(13)) {
play ();
}

which stops the movie and waits for the user to press enter.
if i preview the movie within flash, it works perfect.
if i double-click the resulting .swf file and view it with the player it doesn't work (does not react on pressing enter)
how come????

Preview In Flash
I Don't like the text preview in flash. If I use device fonts the preview is better but then everybody can't see the text like I think. How can I do. Sorry for my English. I'm Spanish

Hey, i am making a flash intro for my site, and i have included a song to go in the background (Groove Armada - My Friend)

I am fading text in and out, and i positiond these effects to go in time with the beat. When i hit Preview in Flash the effects were in time with the song. So i kept previewing my movie in Flash and continuing with my effects.

When i was finnished i decided to preview my movie in HTML and the song was out of time with the effects?! Does the Flash preview play at a different frame rate to the HTML preview? My actuall frame rate for the movie is 30fps, does the flash frame rate play different to that? The HTML preivew looks the same speed, but the song (or the effects) are out of time.

Any help would be gratefully appected..

Flash In Preview
This is a tech issue regarding the media player option. i am using the overlay skin trying to play a video file. I hear the audio of the video file but there is no picture. No matter what skin i use that supports video files there is no picture just audio! I have the file in MPEG-4 format. PLEASE help me!! I beg of you. Is there anything i can do?

Im trying to preview my page in a browser, where I have a couple .swfs on a page in dreamweaver. On one of the .swf I have a load movie set which when you hit a button a loads another movie on top. When testing it works great, but when I preview the movie in browser it doesn't?

Drawing In Flash 5 Without Preview ?

i cant believe this! in any other graphic prog like freehand, all drawing tools do have a "preview". this means, that e.g. your line or rectangle or... is elastic till you release the mouse. i cant do a drawing, that is invisible. can you help ? i have tried all options....

Flash Preview In DMX Is Slow
Greetings,

Have any of the Windows users had this problem: You place a Flash SWF into a cell in an html page and then F12 it and it takes forever for the SWF to load.

I placed an 11k SWF in a cell and that is what happens. I have never experience this on a Mac, it only seems to be happening on my Windows machine.

There is a little logo that spins on the top left. Granted, it is about 450 frames long and no preloader but should that matter with an 11k file?

Flash 5 Preview Fault
i have been running flash 5 on my computer for a while with no problmes but recently it has decided that when i preview or publish it will not do it and gets half way and then crashes.

Is this a common problem? or is it problem with my copmputer and does anyone know of a patch or something to help

[CS3] Preview Flash Videos
Hi, I`ve recently started using flash and would like to integrate it into my websites, majority of which are video based.

Currently I manually create thumbnail previews for all my flv files and link them to the appropriate videos.

As you can imagine this is a painful process and I would prefer to automate the whole process so I can just focus on uploading new content.

What I`d really like to do is create a flash script that would look in a certain folder and create thumbnailed previews for all my flv videos that would display on a certain page.

If anybody could help me out with this or at least point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Hello, can anyone recommend a flash powered preview application with built in cms? My client wants to have a preview site to show off new adverts (gifs, swf's, jpegs, html etc) and they want to be able to log in via a simple web interface and add and remove new adverts.

Would like to keep spending to under $700US and I need to be able to edit look and feel of app extensively.

Preview Window In Flash
I am creating a portfolio site using flash, and I want to be able to view my work (swfs and jpgs) inside flash by loading the external files. I want it to work like the javascript code that allows the window to resize based on the file size, and be able to go "next" and "previous" images once the window is open.

Preview Of Flash In HTML
I have a Flash movie (MX 2004) that tests perfectly. When I try to Publish preview in default HTML I dont get anywhere near the same results as when I tested the movie.

I'm trying to preview the movie in IE. Sorry guys, don't tell me to switch to FireFox or something else...I am restricted to using IE.

I am on deadline and could really use some suggestions.

How To Preview A Flash Before Upload

I'm trying to integrate a flash object in my html page.
In my page i can choose a local file (with an input file) and when i submit the form i upload the file in the server.
I want to preview the flash before to upload it in the server.
But when i choose a file, the div element is resized to fit the flash object but it don't load it, the object is green !

Jaggies After Flash Preview.
I am using Flash MX, and I have imported gifs into my flash movie. These gifs are perfect 100% quality with no jaggies, but after I convert these gifs into a button, or graphic they end up having jaggies on the sides after I preview them in my browser. Though the gifs do not have jaggies while I am working with them in the flash movie.

On my menu if you look at the buttons: dnf, doom3, ut2003, devastation, and kingpin. You will see one jaggie on both sides of the button (left and right side). Does anyone know how I can fix this and why it looks normal in the flash editor until I preview it in browser. I've tried both IE and NS to preview and same thing happens.

I think it was Flash 5, that had an option of previewing of what your project will look on
a 28.8k, 56k, dsl, and t1.
Now for Flash 8 I don't seem to find any sort of option that would allow me to ..
test for example, how my movie would play for a dial-up user. I downloaded Flash 8
from the official website, and I've got the full version of Pro.
Did they take this feature out?

Flash Preview Effect
Hi,

Quite recently ive noticed this technique used quite a lot. Basically on someones portfolio they have a screenshot of the design and if you hover over it it brings up a kind of flash slideshow in the middle of the page. Allowing the user to a bigger view of the website.

Is that done with Flash or Javascript? And can someone provide me with a tutorial on this or show me how to do it

since loading Flash 8 I cannot preview a project in my browser unless the browser is already opened. This isn't correct, and I cannot seem to get any help from Macromedia. How can I get F8 to see and open my browser using f12? (I use latest IE)

Flash Won't Show Me A Preview Of What I'm Drawing
When I draw a shape (using the circle tool for example), I do not get a preview of it, so I can't tell how big or wide it is going to be. The same problem occurs when I draw an object and want to move it. I get no guides/preview of the object so I don't know where exactly I'm moving it. I've checked the reference books, and am currently looking for some support on the web. Has anyone heard of such a problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was told that it could be a memory problem but I have a Pentium III 733 MHZ with 511 mb of Ram...so I don't think that's the problem, unless its not being used properly.

Also, the problems Doesn't happen with any of my other graphic programs like Photoshop, Fireworks, or Director.

I have also tried reinstalling flash a couple of times.

How Do You Preview Flash Animations In Outlook...

Flash Container To Preview MPEG4 - Possible?
Hi,

Is it possible to build a flash container into which mpeg4 movies can be loaded dynamically.

Basically, I have potentially 1000s of MPEG4 clips. I'd like to put these on a web gallery, so that each is a static Flash movie which then starts to play the first few seconds of the movie when someone mouses over that flash movie. Rather than have to individually compile 1000s of Flash clips, is it possible just to build one container and pass in the URL of an MPEG file so that it's done dynamically?

Flash Hanging On Publish Preview
Whenever I try to do an .html publish preview (File -> Publish Preview -> HTML), Flash hangs.

I can publish the .html file correctly; and outside Flash, I can open the .html file correctly. Only F12 hangs.

This happens even with a blank file.

Any ideas?

Flash HTML Publish Preview
I have a feeling I've missed something really obvious but here goes...

I've created a photo gallery based on the Kirupa thumbnail example and when I publish preview in Flash everything works fine. However, if I try to publish preview in HTML then everything loads except the images. This happens with both my modified version and the original Kirupa template. What am I doing wrong?

Using Flex Components In Flash 9 Preview
I'm starting a project in Flash Player 9 preview so that I can take advantage of all the great and super thing in AS3.0 - but unfortunately there have been no components released for 3.0 that is allowed in the flash player - and in fact the components panel is disabled when writing as FLA in AS3. I need some filetree, listbox, etc components, and I really would rather not reproduce them - my question is - is there any way to take 3.0 components that have been written in flex and modify the SWC files to allow me to use them? Maybe, if they were usable, I could use import from external library to bring them into my flash 9 as 3.0 file. Any ideas?

File Uploading With Preview Using Flash/php
I need some help.
I’m creating an online avatar tool. Basically the interface takes an image on the users local computer, crops it down to a thumbnail, then uploads it.
The problem is that FileReference in Flash won’t let you get the location of the image that is being uploaded. My first thought was to upload the image, then once it’s loaded, open it in flash. I would then be able to crop it and upload the cropped thumbnail. The problem I was having was that updateProgress won’t always tell me when the download is complete (especially for smaller files).
So I guess what I’m asking is a) is there a better way to get the image location? Or b) why isn’t FileReference giving me the proper information?

The flash code I’m using is the “fileUploader” example that is on this site. The php code I’m using is this:

Flash Button Works In Flash But Not In Dreamweaver Preview?
ive created a button in flash and have followed the correct action script for it to open to a url because it works after ctrl and enter. when i import the flash to dreamweaver and load up the preview the flash button doesnt follow to the url? am i doing anything wrong or missing something?

Small issue I am having when working on a project and previewing the published flash file. I have my buttons and frames set-up on my main stage, but when I view the publish preview, there is extra space around that I don't see when working on my main stage.

Is there a setting I am missing?

Flash Preview Fine - Published Movie NO GO
The movie consists of a movie instance placed on the main timeline. The movie instance has its own buttons and code within. When I do the preview play it plays perfectly, however when it is published the buttons don't work and the whole movie goes off center. When I preview my movie in FlashPlayer, with the download settings to 56K, I have the feeling the player doesn't react like it should.

I load several Movies (all between 10 and 20 KB, and with their first keyframe blank and a stop on it) into different levels into a Main movie on the first frame of the main movie. I give them enough time (about 5 seconds) to load by showing a little intro in the main movie. Then I can call the loaded movies to play.

This worked fine on another site I made. But when I preview my current project in FlashPlayer (pressing ctrl+enter two times), I have the feeling that the external movies are not loaded right away, but only when the user calls them by, for instance, pressing the menu buttons.

And I think this will be different in the 'real world' situation, looking at another project i have done.

Could someone tell me please if this is a know problem, or am I making a mistake? It's a lot easier to check the speed of my site in the previewer than to keep asking people to check it who have a slow connection!

Script Works In Flash Preview, But Not HTML

..heh So I have hashed together a button I saw on another site, and am pretty close to the end result. Basically, it's an animated button, and on mouseout, I want to reverse the animation. This works fine previewing in flash with CRTL-ENTER, but if I preview in HTML " F12 " The clicp plays once on mouseOver, but does not reverse itself as it did in the preview.

[F8] Flash Video Works In Preview, Not On Server
Hi All,

I have a flv file that was created using a slide show application. I have taken the file and inserted into a blank Dreamweaver page, using Dreamweaver.

When I preview the file from Dreamweaver, the flash video plays fine. However, when I load the page to the server, the video doesn't show and the browser says there were errors. The address is http://www.mves.org/appreciation/show.html.

The flv is mves.flv.

When I encode video is it possible to set the preview image to something other than the 1st frame of the video. I know it's possible because I see others do it.. Please help me.. I've searched everywhere for an answer.

Flash 8 Publish Preview Docked Ot Tabbed?
Can we dock or tab the publish preview "pop-up" screen in flash 8? If so, where are the settings and how do we do it? I've seen this done on lynda.com as they go about actionscript tutorials. Unfortunately they don't explain it.
