Will This Support Flash?
Im thinking of buying a laptop, but dont wanna spend too much, so i decided to look for refurbished products. I dont need much HD space because, uhh, im putting most of the files on data cds.

Hi,
I need an feature developped for my web site, and before looking for a developer, I need to know if flash is really what I need.
I plan to allow users to upload an image on my site, distort it with some basic tools like you find in photoshop, and save their image back to their desktop.
Can this be achieved with flash ?

The Multilanguage Support In Flash

So, here is my prob. again,
Does Flash have multilanguage support?
When I use english language, at keyboard, and when I type text in english, there is no prob, but when I try it in somme other languages, some of the letters are not there, the flash leaves empty spaces at the same place.
if I try that in Adobe Photoshop 7 it works normal, also in Microsoft Word.
Please if anyone have a solution let me know.
PS.
I can use the specific font for specific language, but that is no solution for me.

HTML Support In Flash MX
Basically I creating generic dynamic text displayer which reqiures user to click and rollover text.
I created it using hyperlinks however I need to get a rollover state basically make the text turn another colour.
I've looked what is possible in HTML - and I think I need another attribute tag in the A HREF tag maybe 'rollover style' or something and you can implement it through javascript and CSS.
Does anyone know if I can use any of these to have a rollover effect on my text - in Flash????

Does Flash 8 Support Localization?
I need to deploy different versions of the SWF's for different regions(english, korean, french, italian, etc...) Ideally, I could have a text file for each language. Then I could load up Flash and pick which text files to import based on which region I want to work on.
I need the text to be outside Flash because when we go to localize the SWF's the linguistic's people will only be translating text documents and not be editing in Flash.
Is there such support for this?

Does Flash CS3 Support Actionscript 2.0?
I saw the presentation that Adobe had yesterday, and unfortunately, due to some minor error issues regarding their display screens that took an hour to solve, they ran through the hot items of Flash and really didn't touch on the ActionScript all that much other than animation. My question is, does anyone know if Flash CS3 (Flash 9) support ActionScript 2.0 even though it now works in 3.0?
I've downloaded the chapters to the ActionScript 3.0 cookbook, so I definitely have some reading to do. Any other information on this topic other than Adobe would be helpful. Thanks!

How Do I Add Flash Support To A Browser?
Hello. I programmed a web browser in C# .NET 2.0, and it is able to do everything exept play flash games. I am assuming this is because I never added support for flash. How would I go about doing this? is there a tutorial somewhere to teach me how?

Flash Class For Better Css Support
I just looked into the styleSheet and TextFormat class for the first time and built a text scroller that pulls its content from a text file with html in it.
I am having great problems with the fact that I can't add top and bottom padding to p, h, and spans. I actually am a bit puzzled by the fact, it is not supported. Since that is something I feel like I can't really live without.
I am wondering if someone might have written a class that allows you to use those css properties in the style sheet or knows of someone who has, or of some other work around to do this. I did try adding an invisible "spacer" MC from the library via the img tag, but have to say, that at this point, that was rather unsatisfactory, as the amount of control I get, is not quite what I want it to be.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

I want to make a Chinese presentation in Flash MX, I have the word document in Chinese language but if I paste Chinese charaters in Flash it is showing question marks only.

Flash Support For Circumflex ?
Currently I am UTF8 decoding then decoding the html entities and then urlencoding string literals to flash using loadvars? Could someone inform me of the level of support for characters outside the ASCII range? Circumflex's are not displaying correctly.

Hi, I'm new in the flash world and I've got some qestions I'm hoping I can find answers to here. My first Q is about lightwave(a 3D modeling and rendering program.) I'm curious if anyone here has heard of any kind of compatibility between the two. Are there and plug-ins or anything at all?

Wheel Mouse Support In Flash 5?
Folks,
Does anybody know a way to get wheel mouse events in Flash? Obviously the standard events don't handle wheel mice. Buy maybe somebody thought of a work-around already? After all there are so many flash movies with scrolling text etc... I bet somebody has at least tried to solve this before? Know that it can't be done would also be helpful.

What HTML Tags Does Flash Not Support?
I'm trying to load an external txt file into a dynamic text box, but it looks like some HTML tags aren't working. The <br> tag works fine, but <b> doesn't work. You would think that a simple BOLD tag would work. Am I doing something wrong?
Flash'n Pack Support Divx?
I noticed on the Flash'n Pack site that it can support ActiveX plugins....am I correct in my assumption that this means I could plug a DivX movie into a Flash presentation?
On that topic, anyone know what is the most effective codec for internet video at present? Quicktime 6.0 has mpeg4, DivX was derived from mpeg4, and then there's the sorenson codec.

i have a problem with flash mx dynamic txt box ( containing arabic ) and win 98 i have a project that is uploaded on net
it works all ok on win 2ooo , xp , 2000 server,
but with win 98 the dynamic txt fields doesnt appear correctly
what do u think?? , is it win 98 not supporting arabic? ,
is there any solution , like upgrading , loading some files......??

Flash MX 2004 DOES NOT Support Remoting
After getting flash MX 2004 today and playing with the new components I've realized that flash remoting DOES NOT WORK! There are new componenets for data ie. DataHolder, DataSet, WebServiceConnector and I am guessing these will end up doing the same thing. Macromedia provided NO support what so ever on any of these new components and I'm lost Any help would be great. Anyone else seen any problems or solutions?
I'm starting to think that although there are a few better things in Flash 2004, they made it too quickly and did not take the time to provide us with a quality product to develop with. Anyone still using MX should consider waiting for an update to MX 2004.
What Programs Support Flash/swf (other Than Dreamweaver?)
Hi! I am familiar with making a few flash movies, but my big q is, how do you get it from your computer to a site address? I tried publishing them using my dreamweaver, but they never seemed to work. I know that frontpage doesn't support it ( at least i don't think it does) are there any other programs that i can just "plop" a swf or flash file into & have it work??

Site Doesnt Support Flash?
I have some webspace at www.weapon-x.todaysclan.com and it seems that the site doesnt support flash files. Does Flash Not Support Text Justification?
You'd think a thing as simple as justifying text wouldn't be hard to implement, but as far as I can tell, Flash won't do it. There's a button in the text field properties inspector that says "justify" and when you click it, it does justify in the fla, but when you test or publish the movie and view it, it defaults back to left aligned. I tried changing it to dynamic text and setting the properties with TextFormat, but it did the same thing. Anyone know anything about this?
Offline Browser With Flash Support

Does anybody know a program to download a complete flash website within a few mouseclicks.
I want to save the flashsite offline (to harddisk/cd) and view it later, without any internet-access.
With a flash-website I mean a site with menu, build completely in flash. When you click on an item in the flash menu a new part of a flash movie is downloaded and shown in the main part of the screen/flash movie. (for example the site: http://www.gotoandlearn.com )
Most offline browsers can download individual flashmovies or advertisings, but are not able to download a flash movie which shows within the movie other flash movies.
Ive already tried Offline explorer pro, webcloner pro, safeflash, and a few others which I already removed from my system.

Popup Windows From Flash - IE Support
Hi guys,
I'm trying to display a basic popup window from an swf file. Works perfectly in Firefox .. but gets blocked in IE no matter what I try!
The code i'm using:

The strange thing is, I followed this tutorial - http://www.flash-db.com/PopUp/index.php and the "Generate Popup" button in one of flash files works even in IE. But if I try to use the code that the same button generates, my popup is blocked!
I've looked through this forum and a few others and have reached a dead end! I'm sure someones done this before / knows how to do this..

Flash CSS Line-Height Support
I was working with HTML formatted text in Flash with an imported CSS style sheet and noticed that the CSS line-height property is not supported in Flash. I tried to add leading from a textFormat object, but could not combine that with the CSS. Some googling turned up this from waxpraxis.org about extending Flash's StyleSheet class to fix a bug with kerning. I used that as a basis to add line-height support. Apparently, CSS in Flash gets converted to textFormats - which has a leading property but not line-height. I convert line-height to leading by subtracting font-size from line-height. So both properties have to be set in the CSS for this to work. The other option is to set a leading property in the CSS and add support for that in the extended StyleSheet class, but since leading is not a native CSS property, I stuck with line-height.
