Dreamweaver And Flash 2004
Since I upgraded to 2004 I haven't been able to get my pages to work right. My Flash side bar won't come up on my page and I know the file path is correct. I am lost and confused and I need to get this page up soon before I start getting behind. Any help is appreciated greatly thank you.

I am a bit stuck with this.. It is really rather simple I guess but I just cannot get it to work.

I made a basic outline of a page for a web site in Flash.. It is to be the index.html page.. Anyway want it to fill the browser window whatever the resolution may be...

In Dreamweaver I have set the height and with both to 100% I have put it in tables with autostrectch an in layers and plonked it right into a blank page.

The width strectches fine but cannot get the height to comply. I have tried tons of setting in properties in Dreamweaver but with no luck.

If someone can help out I would be most grateful. This is a school project and we have to use dreamweaver.. I would like to make the individual pages in flash and just link them together in dreamweaver if this is possible.
But the .swf just does not fill the browser.. I did the same with publish and used the html file from that but the results were not much different

It seems that Dreamweaver added their Flash Video insert button after I purchased MX2004.
Trying to insert a flash video into a Dreamweaver web page.
Dreamweaver came out with a Flash Video Kit sometime after I purchased MX 2004.
Does anyone know anything about it or where I can download it?

Many of you will know that the removal of the movie clip specific undo is causing us enless hassles and this isn't one of those features that we just get used to, this is a serious workflow hindrance.

Site Map In Dreamweaver MX 2004
I'm setting my first steps in Dreamweaver MX 2004. When I'm asking the view of the local files and the files on the server, I can ask for a site map clicking on the appropriate icon.
It used to work untill a few weeks ago. I must have changed some settings because I don't get any site map at all.
Can anyone give me a clue which settings I should lokk at to get my site map working back ?

I am still using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and couldn't afford to upgrade to DW8 yet.

I am trying to find the FlashVideo extension (flashvideo.mxp) for Dreamweaver MX 2004 where I can be able to create/install Flash video on HTML web pages easily.

Does anyone knows where to download the extension file? Or have a Flash Video Kit as it is no longer available online?

I want to know if anyone has a cPanel/WHM extension for dreamweaver so, for example, you wouldn't need to type much in for the cPanel accounting module.

Submit Form In Dreamweaver MX 2004
What Do I need to do to be able to "Submit Form" after the button is clicked. I have form, someone fills in basic info and when they click "Submit" what do i need to to make it submit? So I can veiw or use or whatever the info they have given?

Dreamweaver 2004 Image Insert Problem
Hello,
This is my first post here. Currently, I am using Dreamweaver 2004 MX. I am just inputting an image into a layer. But when I browse to select the image, no preview is seen and the image is a .jpg file. After I select it, the image does not appear on the screen, except that it is replaced by a small grey icon size image. And when I try to preview my .htm page in explorer, the image appears as a box with a red X in it. I was just wondering why this happens.
When I pick any other image (.jpg) that is able to be seen through the preview, the image appears as it is in the preview on my dreamweaver page.
Is there anything missing? or that my .jpg should have?
basically the image isnt showing up after I imported it in.

Newbie: Problems With Opening A .aspx File Using Dreamweaver MX 2004
Hi to all,

I can create a new .aspx from Dreamweaver MX 2004,

BUT

I CANNOT open any .aspx file already created using Dreamweaver MX 2004.

Whenever I try to OPEN such a file, I get the following error message,

The following Javascript error(s) occurred:

At line 174 of file "C:Program FilesMacromediaDreamweaver MX 2004ConfigurationServerModelsASP.NET_Csharp.htm":
TypeError: dom.documentElement has no properties

After which I can only click OK and then the entire Dreamweaver MX 2004 closes. Followed by a WIN XP message asking me whether to report this error to Microsoft.

Can someone advise me what to do?

I've done alot of work with Flash MX 2004 Pro in a class I took. I'm looking into buying the Flash program for my own personal use. I checked out the school store and found that I could buy Flash MX 2004 there at a discount price.

My question is, will Flash MX 2004 allow me to open the .fla files I finished in my class, even though I used Flash MX 2004 Pro to make them? If not, I'll have a lot more saving to do...

i d/l a trial version of macromedia flash mx 2004 professional

.. the problem i faced in it was of writing the script .. part which was all n all in expert mode

and not normal mode

i havent tried macromedia flash mx 2004 cheaper version

if any one of u have tried it .. does it support writing script in normal mode ??

which package shud i invest my money on ..

I am still on the 30 days trial with Flash MX 2004 and I wonder what would be the best choice for me when I go on buying it. Should I buy Flash MX 2004, Flash MX 2004 Pro or MX Studio. I want to create animations and games for my web site. I wonder if the other softwares of the MX Studio would really be useful. I already own Photoshop so I guess Firework would be of no use. Is there other softwares that I may need to create animations and games?

I have a question. I've been using Flash MX 2004 Professional at work for a couple of Flash movies that I put on the Optim Electronics website. Now, since I put up a Flash examples page that has examples of various Flash techniques, I would like to show my supervisor what Flash is capable of doing. However, you can only download the Flash MX and MX 2004 versions of the Flash source files at the Flash Downloads web page. Will Flash MX 2004 have problems opening the Flash MX 2004 file?

I bought some flash templates the work with flash mx 2004 but not the pro version. So now I need to use flash mx 2004. I tried uninstalling and deleting the registry, then installing again, but I dont get the option to choose anymore.

I'm looking to buy one of Macromedia's products within the next few days. Problem is, I'm not sure which to buy. This question is aimed at Disjuku (remember me? ) in particular, since Disjuku visited a site mentioned in my previous post. I have mx 2004 at my job... we were supposed to get professional but our purchasing department bought regular mx 2004...

Can you go from mx 2004 to professional? How do you do it? Whats the cost? Do I have to pay for an upgrade like I was coming from regular mx?

.FLA Opens In Mx 2004 But Not In MX 2004 Pro?
I'm having a nightmare here!!

i've been working on a site (i'm struggling enough with that alone!) but earlier today i had an error whilst saving and somehow this has resulted in my original .fla being deleted (no back up).......aaargh

i have now managed to recreate the .FLA by using a .fla to .swf decompiler but when i try and open it in MX 2004 Pro i recieve "unexpected file format" and it won't open, however i can open the recovered file in MX2004....so not is all lost, but its not ideal.

Is there anyway i can save it from 2004 so i can open it in 2004 Pro? or is there a fundamental difference between the two file types? ( i find this strange if true since they are both part of the 2004 range? plus surely 2004 pro is backwards compatible to 2004? most software apps are?)

sorry if this has been asked many times before i'm just at my wits end and trying to understand a little better........i'm quite new to flash!

Anyone see the new features?
It looks nice and all, but I think my current version of Flash MX can do just about everything the new one can do.
The new transform feature looks great, but is it worth purchasing just for that?
The actionscript 2.0 looks good too, but who really needs OO programming in flash? I'm surprised Flash MX 2004 didn't come with other features i thought it would have.
My wish list for new flash mx:

1. Shortcut keys for Duplicated symbols.
2. Maybe duplicated all symbols in a symbol?
3. Intergrating Fireworks more with flash.
4. Search tool for actionscript commands.
5. More publishing options.
6. A size script generator inside the flash, not necessarily a txt file on the folder.
7. Maybe when you preview a symbol in a scene, you could choose to auto center it? (When you preveiw a symbol inside a scene it like goes up to the left)
8. The gotoandplay bug. Where you have to call a scene's frame label instead of number. I use frame labels anyway, but still.
9. Don't change the actionscript functions. Keep it the same! If you do change it at least have it be able to read "Go to And Play" from flash 4 or w/e as gotoAndPlay().
10. Be able to change frame rate during movie. And also a variable that shows the current frame rate.
11. Dynamic text box bug. When you resize a dynamic text box (the black square on the bottom right which like decides how much area of text is shown) and close the program and load the file again the dynamic text box is at full size.
12. Better object tweening. It's really hard to get the object tweening you really want.
13. Object tweening for symbols. Why cna't Flash do this? Why can't it when playing convert a symbol to an object but when editing you can edit the symbol? If the symbol has more than one frame in it it could just read the first frame and convert it to an object.
14. Streaming sound bug. Sometimes when you stream sounds and have sounds event the sounds don't play at the correct frame.

I might be wrong with all the stuff i wrote above. I might be doing something wrong and their might be ways to do what i want above but if there is i haven't found them yet and i should be able to find it more easily.

But some good stuff about the FlashMX was the tutorials. Those hav e been very useful.

A BUG In Flash MX/2004
Is this a bug or what a hell is this ?

I use Windows98se, Swedish settings and swedish keyboard.

In MX/2004 i open the code window, trying to type in the chars: [ ] {
and it just deselect the window, and doesnt type anything.
Only way pass this is using the ascii ALT+code and thats a bit extreme when u type brackes in great volumes like i do.

Have you heard ANYTHING about this thing, let me know. I feel like the only kid left on the island when i have to stick with 5.0

Another tip...If you make a scrolling text field with an image in it and the text field isn't wide enough, the image will be placed on top of the text that follows it.

Another Bug In Flash MX 2004
I've found another bug in Flash MX 2004. If you draw a red circle and a blue circle. Generally, if you click on the fill of a object, the color panel should display the color (and even it works with a gradient). Let's say, I have now the blue fill selected and I want to change to the red fill, the color panel doesn't change to the correct fill, it stay's blue, but I have selected a red fill.

Is there a patch or something? Even Flash MX (Flash 6) has the same problem. Has anyone an idea?

Guys and Gals I need help!

I would call myself a novice when it comes to flash / actionscripting. I am a designer that constantly gets "sucked" into development projects!

I currently develop flash projects using Flash MX (not 2004) and have been trying to develop a method/strategy to use Flash MX (remoting, coldfusion, etc.) for dynamic development projects.

I went through tutorials on macromedia.com on remoting, etc, etc. But in the process, the "tesser info" about MX 2004 Pro came out and I stoped. Why? Because it seemed as if MX 2004 Pro would make it sooooo much easier to conncet to ... sql, access, xml, etc.

I see all of the great NEW compontents in the trial I D-Loaded, but I feel overwelmed!!! I have tried looking for a simple tutorial with no avail ... you know ... I want to connect to a database, display record info, and/or post info back to the database (or xml).

Can anyone please, please, please point me in the right direction!

Flash MX 2004 Help
flash mx 2004 won't play the loaded movie.
mine in this case is an external audio embedded swf movie.

- i took my flash 6 files (the main movie and external audio movie) and imported them into 7
- i saved both flash 6 files as 7 using action script 1.0 with flash 7 export settings.
- now when i go to view my movie in the html file it won't load the external movie.

it plays fine with mx 2004 when running test movie or if i open the swf movies locally on my hd.
but it will not load the external swf movie when viewing it in a html page.

i've notice another thing.
for some reason you have to use the html file that flash mx 2004 exports in order for the loadMovie(); command to work properly.
i cannot use my old html files that the movies were embedded onto
why is that??

i also keep all my swf movies in a directory.
now if i were to use the html file that mx 2004 exported and out side the directory that main flash movie is in the loadMovie(); will not work!!!!
what gives??

any help on how to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Is This A Bug In Flash MX 2004?
I'm working on a website (all in flash) that needs to be in transparent mode in the HTML (wmode=transparent).

So I exported it and everything and found this problem:

The site has a browser scrollbar (I'm using IE6 SP1), and everything from the flash site that is not shown without scrolling (this means, the stuff you don't see when you open the page) doesn't work. Let me explain better: Buttons, text importing, etc, don't work.

Has anyone come up with a similar problem?. I know the issue is with the transparent mode because if I remove the param in the HTML code the problem goes away.

Pls help me out here!!
