Best Flash Video Recorder
Hi!
Can you tell me which one is the Best: Flash Video Recorder???
I found this: http://www.flashsyndrome.com/recorder.php
Does anybody developed one here?
Flash Video Recorder (from A Webcam)
I've been searching for something that will work, and I kind of doubt it hasn't been done before, so before reinventing the wheel, I thought I'd see if any of you have seen something like this before.
Basically, I'm looking for a way for when users visit a site, they can record themselves via webcam. Now, there are plenty of sites that do this, but unfortunately, just about all of them keep the video file to themselves and only allow you to post links to it in social networking sites (facebook, youtube, myspace, etc).
What I'm looking for is the ability to record, plus the abliity to store the file on my server, rather than the service's (which is the key idea). The videos will then later be reviewed and selected videos compiled together.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Problem Displaying Flash Movie Due To Quality Settings
I developed what I thought was a very nice flash movie to embed in the page header of a client's website. I'm working on a prototype.
The web page header is a simple solid blue graphic with thin horizontal lines in it, which I developed in Macromedia Fireworks.
I had created a "TV" screen in the page header graphic file, cut and sliced the TV screen part out and embedded it in the flash file itself (I use SWISH to build my Flash movies), layering it on top of everything else so that it looks like the movie plays inside the TV.
When constructing the HTML page, I created a table using a background image of the simple solid blue/thin horizontal lines graphic and then inserted the flash file into the table and crossed my fingers. If it all worked perfectly the thin horizontal lines in the flash file would sync up perfectly with the thin horizontal lines in the rest of the table.
They didn't. And I can't figure out why.
But get this: if you right-click on the Flash movie and change the Quality from HIGH to LOW, the lines all sync up!!!. But the text in the movie looks terrible. Set it back to HIGH (you might need to refresh your browser) and the lines go back out of sync, but the text goes back to looking smooth.
What's going on here?
Why don't the lines in the movie sync up ALL the time???
I've published my example here for you to see:
http://www.westchesterinternet.net
You have to look real hard to see where the lines go out of sync on both the left and right sides of the flash movie.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank in advance.

Video Web Recorder Streaming To Server
Can anyone please explain to me which product is being used to create a website based flash application that looks for the mic and camera. It allows users to record/stream their video and audio and store it on their page and access previous recordings of theirs. I have seen this with Boonex, YouTube, etc... my application is different and I would like to know what the forum has to offer. Thank you so much in advance.
Audio / Video Recorder Web Application
I want to know, if your professional opinion, Can this be done?
I have A webserver (e-learning LMS), that allows users to create a e-Learning course. they have options to (upload file, add links, etc) we want to add a new option (Podcast) where if they select this then:-
- The next screen they see if a flash Apps (with option to select 'audio' or 'audio/video')
- Assuming their (mic and video cam setup ok) they just click on record button and they can start to create a podcast (maybe a lesson review), when done they can review the video/audio recorded, if ok they press [OK] button.
Up to this point (im sure all this can be done), so in the end the result is. the recorded podcast would be in the (2nd server) which i would have Flash Media Server installed.(INSIDE THE c:program filesadobeflash media serverapplicationsmy_podcast_apsstreams)
Question1: can i change the location of where the flv files are created?
Question2: can i return the URL to the flv file created?
Question3: if i cant change the location of the created flv, then how can i play the flv (on a different server)?
Thanks.. Appreciate Any replies.. even span...
ALso.. i was at MAX2006 SIngapore (good job adobe!)....didint manage to find the answer there.... :(

[F8] Quality Settings
Hi it's my first post on here so please bear with me, but basically I have uploaded my first flash website and I have encountered a few problems.
I have exported the movie for player 8, and have embedded fonts and components within the movie. When I view the site on any of my macs its fine and have viewed it on a fair few PC's too with no problems. But a couple of people have said to me that in one case (viewed on an Intel imac) the image tweens do not work and just flicker on screen and in another case when viewed on a PC the iamge and text quality is so poor the content can not be read.
I know each user has quality settings that can be adjusted but is there any way of forcing the high quality settings on every user so my site is viewed as it should be or is there another way around this?
I have been searching for answers but as of yet no luck
any help would be very welcome so thankyou in advance
FLV Best Quality Settings
I'm trying to encode a DV-AVI to an FLV without loosing any quality of the AVI. I'm having a bit of trouble though even encoding at a very high bitrate (above the rate of the AVI even) produces a video that has blocks and lines when played through flash. I've tried using both On2 VP6 and Sorenson Spark to no avail, along with the other programs out there that encode to FLV.
Any ideas on settings that can be used? I just need it to loose no quality, dont care how big it is, so long as it palys in flash.

Flash Video - Best Settings
I want to find out what the best practice is in creating a flash video from
an edited video clip for use on the web.
I have edited a video clip down to 5 minutes and have rendered it to an .avi
file. I then imported the .avi into Flash and have encoded using:
1. Progressive download
2. On2 VP6
3. 15fps frame rate
4. Medium quality
5. Video size 320x213 (213 comes up when I set width to 320 and maintain
aspect ratio)
6. Audio data rate - 16 kbps
This all works and the quality is fine when I insert the flash video into
Dreamweaver, but the file size it over 16mb and I've seen that other people
have file sizes that are 1/2 that for 5 minute videos.
What can I do better and still maintain quality?
Does it matter whether I render as .avi, .mpg, or other?
Should my Flash video encoding settings be different?
Thanks
Susan
Player Quality Settings
I am trying to load an swf that plays at low quality into an SWF that is playing at high qulaity....however, the original swf then switches to low quality as well....
Is there a way to have flash play different swf's at different qualities?
Playback Quality Settings
Hello-
I am working in Flash CS3 and can not seem to get the "Quality" global actionscript setting to work. On the first frame, I have the following code:
import flash.display.StageQuality;
StageQuality.LOW;
I am not sure why, but the movie will not play back in Low quality mode when I open up the published projector. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Jpep Quality Settings Hassle
I have imported over 150 images into my flash document, all are jpegs.
Why is it that in the properites of each, some have the (tickbox) option to "Use Document default [quality]" whilst others have "Use imported quality]"... none have both options.
I have completed the site now, but am trying to produce some advertisements using the same library but have discovered i cant simply change the "Document default quality" in the "publish settings" window because the images which have the "Use imported quality]" option rather than the "Use Document default" dont change and Im forced to go into each once individually to do it manually.
This is an unbeliveable pain. because i need to produce many adverts of various sizes.
Does anyone know why this is happening and if theres a way round it?
Bug In The Publish Settings For Speech Quality?
Has anyone else had problems publishing with the speech feature for audio in flash? If I use mp3, the default, I have no problems, but whenever I use speech at any level Flash crashes on me. Without fail, this happens every time.
Is this a bug? I have imported the sounds into my library and properties are set to speech 22kHz (I've changed them around and played with that too).
Can 2 Swfs Co-exist With Different Quality Settings?
Hey guys,
Been trying to figure this out, hope some one can shed some light on this.
Picture this: a draggable movieclip with some animations in it. A set of navigation buttons that sit on top of the interface.
when I want to drag the movieclip, I'd want it to be in low quality so that the dragging is fastest at its speed. When I release the drag, it should go back to the high quality. I tried using movieclip._highquality = 1,2 and 0 but once I start dragging the movieclip, the ENTIRE swf is toggled to be low quality.
I thought that the above command only targets specific movieclips but apparently its a global effect? Can some one point out how to do this? I saw this useful effect on the very cool website http://www.coca-cola.co.uk/index.htm....uk/index.html Just drag the tower up and down to see the toggle quality effect... only the tower is affected but the other interface parts are still in high quality... how dudes? How?!
Different Quality Settings For Movieclips In A Movie?
Hello there,
I am searching a way to have different quality settings in a movie.
I have a Movieclip that should act as a color picker (just like the one in Flash). The problem is, when this movie is played at "high" quality, the color rectangles become blurry. On "low" quality, they are just fine, sharp edges and straight colors, so I want it to run on "low" quality.
Now I want to use this in another movie, via loadMovie(). But when I do this._quality="low" in the color picker movie, or palette._quality="low" in the other movie (palette is the name of the Movieclip that loads the picker), the complete movie is set to low quality and looks just ugly.
So, is there a way I can achieve this? I need that color picker unsmoothed.... Any suggestions appreciated.

blemmo
Having Issues With Quality Settings And GIFs
First off, thank you to everyone who has helped me get this far.
The attached image shows the same XML photogallery, but at two different Quality settings. For some reason, at the setting of "High" my Imported GIF Files (with Allow Smoothing turned off, and placed on whole integer values), the GIFs/Buttons look crappy. As soon as the Quality setting is changed to "Low" the buttons look perfect.
Here-in lies the problem: I have tried to make some control buttons that will fast forward, go back and pause the animation and transition. Anytime I import these buttons, whether they are PNGs, GIFs or JPG's they look absolutely terrible. Obviously this is happening because the Quality setting is "Low," but it seems even if I change it to "High" that I am still not getting the exact image that I created in photoshop.
If more screen shots are needed, please let me know. I can attached an image of what the control buttons are supposed to look like as well if that helps (because its not either of the ones in this screen shot)?
Thanks in advance,
jason
Best Format And Settings For Audio & Video In Flash
Hello, I'm in the middle of making a new little Flash project, and it goes something like this:
I'm making a sort of media player, with one section where you can listen to some various songs and another section where you can view music videos.
The questions are:
1. Whats the best method of getting the songs and videos loaded onto the animation, and the optimal settings for them?
2. Should there be sort of a limit to the number of songs & videos that I put on the animation?
Yeah, that's pretty much all. Thanks for your help.
Flash Video Quality
I have a client who uses videos on their site regularly. I'm using CS3 and I'm encoding QuickTime vidoes for them with the flv encoder. The quality is ok but they'd like it to be better. They will be doing a lot of this in the future so we'd like to figure out the way to get the best video quality possible.
Does anyone know how we can achieve this even if it means getting different software?
I'd like to be able to display the videos in via flash if possible, but I just want the quality to be better. Right now I use the 700kbps/flash 8 setting (the highest).
thanks in advance,
R
High Quality Flash Video
I'm seriously getting frustrated. I'm trying desperately to find high quality flash video (FLV files) online. Everything I find is under 360 x 240 and it is like looking at a video player that was smashed with a rock and is just chopping along every 3 frames a go. Has anyone seen high quality larger than 360x 240 video on a website. I have searched even the adobe gallery and that sucks. I have made many flash video players but this time I have to do high quality 560 x 340 and am finding it hard. I'm almost at that stage to go for Quicktime but I really can't do that.
Someone please help with showing me this can be done with flash.
I also noticed on older machines flash video comes to a crawl where as quicktime seems to work through it even on slower machines.
Thanks
Flash Video Looks Poor Quality In Swf
I have a flash video .flv the quality is fine then I embed this in a swf file a export it to a movie. When I watch the swf the video quality is greatly reduced. I have tried allsorts to fix it. Seems to be the swf that causes the problem no matter how good the quality of the flv that goes into it the swf reduces the quality. The files size of the swf is the same as the flv going into it.
Please can anyone help
High Quality Video In Flash
Hi I am new to this site. I used to use Flash 4 back in 2000 and just started back again using Flash 8. Anyway I was wondering if someone could point me to some resources/tutorials/books on how to integrate high quality video into a flash site. As an example please see the sites below
http://64.ufc.com/
http://65.ufc.com/

I want to know how they get these lengthy videos to load very fast and still be high quality.
Thanks everyone for the help and advice in advance.
Getting High-Quality Flash Video
Yesterday I saw a large video playing in a Flash movie on a major newspaper web site. This was a web documentary. The video was large, high quality, and loaded fast. Does anyone know what they're doing? I've been embedding smaller (200 pxl) videos in Flash movies, but the quality isn't nearly as high as the video I saw on this newspaper site. Are they embedding the video? Is it a progressive download? Are they compressing it with something like Sorenson Squeeze? Any tips on this would be welcome.
High Quality Broadcst Video From Flash?
Hi
Im doing a flash animation for TV playback and possible broadcast and I'm assuming the following
I need to do it at 720 x 480 and 30FPS
What is the best way to covert it to AVI OR MOV and get the high quality. Using AVI and MOV out of Flash at 30FPS is dodgy at best and none of the converters I've tried is really cutting it.
What is the best suggestion to get TV quality from a flash movie? Do I have to do it at 30fps or is 15 ok?
Anyone dong this type of work I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks
Flash 8 File To High Quality Video
I am a audio/video person that is new to Flash (8). I have a 6 minute Flash 8 file that I would like to convert to a DVD ultimately. When I export it as an avi file the avi file does not open in any of my video editing or dvd authoring software.
When I try to export the Flash 8 file as a Quicktime file I get a message stating that I need to set the publish settings to Flash 5 or earlier. I did that but now get a message that some Flash 8 features not get converted, plus system doesn't finish creating the Quicktime file anyway, it hangs up for a VERY long time.
Any guidance to help me convert this Flash 8 file to a video file of excellent quality would be appreciated. I searched the forums and only found instructions to do this using Director, which I do not own ...
Thanks in advance.

Quicktime Video Quality When Imported To Flash
Hello, I am trying to import a Quicktime video into Flash. The quicktime quality seems fine, but when I play it in flash and exported, it gets the lines breaking it up. I've tried both embedding it onto the timeline, and streaming it from the server and the quality looks the same. I also have tried an FLV and seem to get the same problem. Is there a setting I am missing or something?
Here is the original quicktime.(give it a sec to load)
http://www.r2integrated.com/clients/...est_Clip_1.mov
and here is what my swf winds up looking like with that video clip in it

You can see the horizontal white lines I am getting. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Improving Video Quality Compatible With Flash 7
I've spent many hours trying to eliminate the very pixelated look that I get when importing a videoclip into a flash movie. if I import it using the flash 8 settings it look sgreat, but if I use the Sorenson Spark codec which is compatible with flash 7 players, I always get this pixelated look no matter what settings I try.
I know however that it is possible to get a much better quality flash video file because I've seen them.
I am importing a nice looking avi. What am I doing wrong?
Flash Video Quality Running Off HD On Laptop
I want to produce a Flash with video that will run from a hard drive. It is an demo that will be only shown on the laptop. The screen size is 1024x768. Should I build the Flash at this 1024x768 size and insert my digital video (externally loaded) at 720x480 30fps or is this overkill and will I crash my laptop? Video quality is important.
Import Video To Flash. Quality/size Problems
Hello,
I'm importing video to flash and i have tested a few encode modes and i don't see any diference between this compression profiles(i'm importing videos in MPG):
56 kbps modem (Bit Rate 34kbps)
dsl/cable 512 kbps (Bit Rate 450kbps)
I have select in both quality to 90%.
and the result are files basicly with the same size. 421k and 418k
This is supposed to be like this?
Anyone can explain me a bit better how this thing works?
Thanks in advance

High Quality Video In Kiosk Software Authored In FLASH
I wanna pick the brains of you Kirupians....
I've used solutions like Zinc (which is wonderful, btw) and their "directshow extention" to load high quality, locally stored .AVIs, without a WMP logo, on top of applications I've made for kiosks. It mostly works well, but is a bit convoluted, scriptwise, and is not supported by MDM or the author of the extension.
I'm not asking anyone to build me an app, I just want to know if there are any cool tools for loading high quality, locally stored....fullscreen...logoless video that I may have over looked.
FLVs are almost there, but we can't budget the type of hardware needed to playback 800x600, high quality flvs (3000kps+). I wish flash player was more than a "web browser" centric tool. There so many cool things you can do with them now (especially loading them UNDER other flash layers), but not in a LARGE fullscreen way.
Thanks!
