i have trouble with making the movie background transparent-when i publish it i choose transparent window but itis not transparent when i put the movie in a front page page? what should i do to make it transparent
also does any one have a fla for a preloader and can you tell me how large should the movie be in order to need a prelaoder

I want a transparant background and found a HTML code:

but the code doesn't work...
were must i place the code in my HTML document.
The Background in the Flashfile is white.

or is there and other way to get a transparant background?

anybody seen any good tutorials on how to create one of those flash adds that has a transparant background and usually shoots in somehow over top of whatever the HTML page is that you're looking at.

it's worse than a pop-up, but i need to figure out how to make one so if anyone knows of tutorials that would be helpful i'd appreciate the help!

I imported an GIF with transpanancy on the stage and move it over an background. But after it got into Flash, the image lost its transpanacy. What should be transparant is now white.

[F8] Macbook - Transparant Background On Jpegs?
Hi all. I'm falling at the first hurdle really, and feel very silly, and I know I'll kick myself at the answer... but please help!

I've got a library of graphics drawn by a friend that I wish to use in an animation - different heads/mouths/eyes etc. The artist has saved them as very large jpegs - all fine - and I can import them to my Library in Flash, and then onto the stage.

The background colour for these graphics varies but is always one solid colour. Now, I can't make the background disappear - not on purpose. I've managed to turn the background white on one, but cannot repeat it! Even then, I need what is background colour to be transparent... 'Fill' never seems to work and I don't know why. I've converted them to symbols, 'broken them apart', grouped/ungrouped, and still lost. Thanks for your patience.

Transparant Vs. Non-Transparant Page
Hi Everybody,

Having a problem with my main home page seeming to be transparant.

The Splash page loads the main page - although the links from the splash are still active behind the main page. Was under the impression that the main page was replacing the splash page!

The splash is linked to the main page with

loadmovienum home.swf level 1

Sould it be level 0?

My main home page has two scenes - scene one seems to get skipped.
Scene one has a preloader/ animated intro. in it should thet be in a separate swf. file?

Is there a way to loadmovienum home.swf scene 1 (scene 2 etc)?

I'm a little bit lost but very close to publish the site.
Would appreciate any kind of help.

Mobile Phone Clock - Simple Digital 24 Hour Clock
Hi

I need to make a digital clock/watch for a mobile phone flash demo. I know there are lots of clock on flash kit but they all have seconds and minutes - I need just hours and minutes! - The clock also has to be 24 hour.

I've tried taking the code from a flash kit clock and tweaking it but it seems to screw up - for example 07.03 comes out as 7.3 - looks really naf like that!

If anyone can help me out with a source file or some code I would be most greatful!

hole in the website, and thats without a plugin ( no need to download )

I have the IcePlayer, but the reader needs to download a player before they can se it.

This pop up don´t need that, the question is how they do that ???

Hi, I opened an existing flash file which has an image of some text. the text has a drop shadow on but its on a transparent background. (This is not a shadow filter done within flash). Whenever Ive done a transparent png, the edges turn out bitty. I was wandering how this text has a nice shadow around it without going all dodgy around the edges. Ive tried it and you can see the original background colour behind the shadow. Does that make sense?

Countdown Clock (sync With Server Clock In .asp) PLEASE HELP
I used Senocular's awesome countdown clock tutorial found here:

but I need to figure out how to sync it to my server's clock (I understand I must do this in a .asp file and then load that into flash).

Using vbscript this is what I tried, but obviously it doesn't work I think I may need to convert it completely to seconds first before bringing it into flash:

Transparant Picturebackground
Hi...

I want to move a cloud from one side to the other in my Flash movie. Therefore i'd like to have that cloud without a background ( transparant), so I use Photoshop, export it as a gif with transparancy. Everything works well until then, but when I try to import the cloud in Flash it's always with in a rectangle with a white background, so it doesn't look good. Who can help me. I heard once that you have to save it as a .tif and than import it, but it just won't work...Please help

Hi, i was wondering,
i made an interface design where my menu bar is horizontal at the top of the page, the menu bar has size of 30 px height and 600 px width

i only wanna make the menu in flash, and the rest in html (php)
but:
i would like to have my menu slide out on rollover, and so that they come transparant over the html-page

i've seen adds that come transparant over html pages, so i suppose my idea would work... only,.. How?? (i have no idea)

ps: if any of y'all know a better flash forum where there are faster replies, please let me know

Creating A Transparant Mask ?
WAAAAAAAHHH!!! ok this is really annoying me, iv just made a sweet little animated spaceship for my game, and to preserve size, iv used a motion tween for the rotors of the big fan things on the back, and iv added a white mask on the back of the ship so it covers up the fan blades outside the actual fan. There must be a way to use a transparant mask here, because now this white mask shows up over the background of the game, which is definately not good, i want to hide those fan blades which go out of the fan housing, but without that mask showing up later on, is there any way to acheive this??

Printing Transparant Colours (to Paper)?
Often when I work I use the alpha settings of a colour or symbol to give a transparant effect (eg when I am drawing water or glass). However it never prints to paper like it looks on screen, either from Flash or exported as an image and inserted to, say, Word.
I've fiddled with the settings in Publish and so on, but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone give me a hand, or is what I want to do impossible?

How Can I Make One Color From A Bitmap Or GIF Transparant?
I am just getting started with flash and i wanted to put some GIFs on top of each other, whereby the white background should be transparent. Now there is this nice option, to put your GIF in a MC and than resize it and change the alpha value, to make it transparent; Problem is, also the black parts that should keep their value change along... And the white is also still slightly visible, what i did not want at all.

Now there was this other aproach i tried; I've read a tutorial on transparency here on flashkit, by Kirupa Chinnathambi. Here he made the background from the flashfile transparent, so the browser background was visible. It is realy simple:

This part of html belongs in the param tags from the flash object in the head of your html file, with flash mx the background should be that of the html page afther inserting this little snippet.

So I already found some ways, to get transparancy effects, but they are realy limmited. What i need, is a way to select one color (White) from the GIF in flash and set that as transparent. To me it does not matter if i have to do this in flash, in html, in java or in some other way, as long as it will work it will do.

If Somebody knows how to do this it would help me out much.

Detecting Clock Wise And Anti Clock Wise Rotation

can you tell me if it is possible to detect if an object is rotating anti clockwise or not?

at present i get x,y co-ords and use the code below to rotate it which is fine. now i could write an if statement to check if rotation is negative or positive but because rotation can be negative and positive when rotating clockwise and anti clockwise this wouldnt work.

any ideas?

Hi, ive got this flash clock, which tells local GMT time, im trying to modify it so that it tells the time for another timezone which is 5h 30m ahead.

i've tried this

hourrotate = (hours + 5) * 30;

and

minrotate = (mins + 30) * 6;

but the hourhand messes up for some reason.
