Flash :: Flash In DW8 Templates

Who Knows About Flash Templates?
There are a couple of job offers that want flash templates to be made.

Basically...the idea is that the user will choose a couple of jpegs and press a button and then an animation will ensue.

I'm not really sure how this is done however. I realize that there will be variables involved and that it is a matter of declaring the chosen jpeg as certain variables....however, I have never done it, and therefore am a bit unsure of it all.

Do you know of any good tutorials on the subject, or perhaps threads that have been written,

or could you just fill me in on some of the basic elements of scripting a flash style template.

Can Flash 5 build updateable page templates?
For example: Can I build a 'master' page template whose content can be updated site wide (on all the pages the template was used to create) when the template changes? ie like Dreamweaver.

Does anyone know how I can use templates I have designed in Adobe Photoshop, to make a Flash site? I do not want to have to chop it up like an image map, this is why I am having trouble.

This may seem like a stupid question, but is there an easy way or a tutorial to upload a website flash template that I purchased? I purchased one through one of the many websites that offer them for a promo based site that my company is putting up (for some reason I'm in charge of it) next week.

I really need some help on how to publish it through dreamweaver.

Once I figure out how to do that, I'm gonna try to figure out how to customize the colors and flash buttons I have all the necessary tools (flash, illustrator, photoshop, and dreamweaver)

What Templates Come With Flash CS4
After installing Flash CS4, I notice that the only templates that are available are the advertising templates. Are there any photo templates that are supposed to come with this install or are they available as separate downloads? Thanks!

How do I determine the number of photos that someone can put into each gallery? Do I just count the photos? Can I add additional photos to each category such as 30,40 or more photos in each or am I limited?

I purchased a flash website template a few days ago, and admittedly, have now gotten in over my head. I am slowly catching on to flash, but have run into a snag that I can't quite figure out. Everytime I move things around in the source FLA file, publish, then open in the browser window some of the animation does not play. Any ideas?

I am curious as to where to begin in the creation of Flash Templates as seen in this website http://www.eyeland.com/ff.php

I see these templates and would love to learn how to get started in creating one for my next class project. I am sure you have to be very talented in the creation of the template themselves, but where are they getting the fantastic borders, buttons, and so forth? Are they being made in Bryce, Photoshop, 3D Max, etc?

I tried to do a search for maybe a tutorial on creating a template, but did not get the information I wanted.

Question About Flash Templates

I have just used a Flash MX Quiz Template. I published it as a windows
projector. When I play it on any computer other than mine it does not play properly ie: the buttons don't work, nor do the prameter settings work. Do I have to activate it on the Macromedia website?

Just downloaded the trial version of Flash 2004 MX i see it is the Proffesional Version!!!

I notice a nice welcome panel open when it is started up on the right hand side is a list called create from template. If i select a folder in this area it comes back with an error not recognised format !!!!

Why will this not work everything loaded fine????

Flash Intro Templates? All The Same?
Tried Yahoo, Goolge and MSN search on flash intros or flash templates intros.
I can't belive that the only acceptable flash intro templates are the same. Seems to belong to templatemonster and all other websites (went to 5th or 6th page so I saw some 70 websites) are exactly the same.

I couldn't find any quality intro besides that. All websites are offering the same.

Do you know any quality intros made in flash that I didn't see there?

Flash Presentation Templates

I'm using the presentation templates that Flash offers these days. Can anybody tell me why my actionscript isn't working. For instance when I put this on a n MC

Normally this would mean that the MC isn't visible when the animation starts. Now it looks like it has no effect at all.

Flash In DWMX2004 Vs 8 Templates
I have been creating little flash movies as parts of web site templates. In MX 2004 these work fine. I have upgraded to DW8 and when the templates are applied to the pages, and viewed in IE browser teh flash movies are just do not display, though when you try to test the page from DW you get the iritation of microsnot asking if you really really want to see them and you can see the blocked boxes, but on the affirmative you see nought. I have upgraded DW8 to the latest patch, but this issue still exists.

Any one else had this problem?

Software For Flash Templates
I was surfing around looking for flash templates, than I finally find them and I see that I need the software. Google shows me that this software costs up to 300 dollars each and I need 3 different types!

Before I go out and buy the software, I am wondering if when I purchase a template I can edit the images, the animations and all that even though I cannot program computers or do any 3d animation work. I have very little experience in website creation and flash website are a new thing to me.

BTW: I got here by googling for flash website music songs and all that because I was looking for a cool theme for my site.

I have been asked to build a website for my in-laws' business. She has picked out a template. The one that my MiL really wants to use is built in Flash. It's from Template Monster i think. Is flash the only thing available to edit the template? She only wants me to change the pictures and text, not the functions or transitions, music etc. She just wants it customized with the business info.

As noted, I am a newbie to flash. I have used all the Macromedia apps in the past except for Flash. So the interface I am hoping should be somewhat familier.

Uniting Two Flash MX Templates

I'm trying to get a couple of animated text boxes from one Flash MX website (that have been added to the library of another Flash MX site) to pop up when a button is clicked. Obviously, there is action script that does not apply to the second environment, but once deleted, there is not enough script to bring the boxes up. The thing is, the animation works fine outside of the new website, but I can't seem to get the script right once I bring it in.

In the old environment, the script reads like this:

There is no "on(press)" command, which I need. In the new environment, "s1" becomes "2" and "s2" becomes "11". Here is the script that is currently on the buttons I am moving the animation to:

Any ideas? I would appreciate any help I can get.

Wow, thank god I found this site!

I was just wondering, I have two templates I like, both of which are flash and both from templatemonster. I like the intro from one of them, which i have edited, but it is one big file (the intro and the rest of the page),

I like the main bulk of a different template so was wondering if it is possible to kind of break up the template into the intro from one template, and the main website from the other template?

Flash Menu Templates?

I am an absolute newbie starting to learn flash, and looking for some
template for horizontal menus that I can use and look into at the same
time I study tutorials. Have googled with poor result, and the flash
exchange at adobe.com doesn't open (I get a blank page).

Embedding Flash In Templates
When Flash is inserted into my template the following code appears:

This code is part of a template page which will be used to generate others in my site. When I save the template page it asks to update those pages which use this template and I allow this. But the movie and src parameters don't get their paths updated correctly. They continue to point to the locations which are correct for the template but not the pages they support.

What should I do to correct this problem so that these paths are automatically updated in future?
