Button Link Inside Movie Clip Link To Slide #
First let me say I am a very new to ActionScript and Flash, but have a pretty good understanding of the web and a basic understanding of object oriented scripts from CSS and a few other languages.

I have a navigation menu which is a movie clip containing buttons inside it and have a slide presentation as my main content. I am trying to make the buttons link to a specific slide # in a different part of my flash presentation.

The nav menu is a downloaded source and the slide show is the default canned one from the Flash templates directory.

I was hoping to use the gotoandStop (slide#) to make the connection between the nav button and the slide but it does not do anything.

I will provide the source if needed...

Link Within Flash Movie
Hi,
I am hoping someone can post the script that I am looking for.
I am conducting research for the webmaster of the following site:
http://www.rockteach.org

When clicking on the bird flash movie (from any point within the site) we would like the web page to automatically reload/link to the main home page. (Someone else created the top section of the site -- we are now trying to modify it.

The problem is -- the bottom section of the page is a frame.

Please refer me to any useful sites or e-mail the type of script I need. I am an EXTREME newbie with little knowledge of flash.

Can I Link Outside A Flash Movie
If I create an image scroller with buttons in it could I make those buttons link out side of the flash move?
I like the idea of these scrolling navigation menus but I dont want to do my whole site in flash.
If my flash scroller has 8 buttons in it could I place it in my dreamweaver generated site. Then when one of the buttons is clicked it makes a photo open up (not popup in a new window)in my dreamweaver page

Link On Whole Movie Flash 8
I have Flash 8 and need to put a link on the whole movie from start to finish. I found a few tutorials on how to add a link using geturl but this launches the new page automatically, I need it to only happen if the user clicks.

There are 3 layers, the first displays upto frame 50, then frame 2 and 3 display top frame 300, then the whole thing loops.

Can I put a link over everything? Thanks

[MX] Link From Flash Movie To A Different SWF
I currently have a Flash movie (game.swf) that has a button on which I would like to link to another swf file (code.swf). I would like for the game.swf to be unloaded and the code.swf to be loaded. The code.swf gets information from an external text file and doesnt seem to work when i load it on top of the game.swf movie.

Use Flash Movie As A Link
I'm using Flash CS3 solely for my website. I made 3 small movies, all the same but different text, and I'm using them as links to other pages in the website. They animate fine. I cannot figure out the script to open my other pages by using them as the links. I tried 'load' to load my other pages, but it does nothing. Any help is appreciated. The script for the animation is below.

Can I Have More Than One Link In A Flash 5 Movie?
Cause as I said in my other post, I am trying to make lines of text fade in and then I want to have three lines of text each having a different effect and each line of text having a link to it. I have tried typing the first line of text, converting it to a symbol, applying the effect via a Motion Tween and then on separate layer, I would draw an invisible button (i.e. drawing a rectangle with the same background color as my movie) around the line of text I just typed, then converted it to a button symbol and applying the getURL function when I select the button and go Window, Actions...

However, when I do the same for the second line of text the link won't work. If I position my mouse precisely over a certain point (a very small point I might add) then the mouse pointer changes to a hand. But it is supposed to be over the whole line of text like the first one does. It is so confusing and I don't get why I get such a small area for the link for the second line. I draw the rectangle completely over it.

I hope I made some sense.

Btw, does it matter what I convert the line of text to (i.e. graphic or movie clip)?

Email Link In Flash Movie
I need to place an email link in a flash movie. I am creating the movie in Flash 4 and setting up the splash page in Dreamweaver. In the flash movie I have an email address that I would like to open up the viewer's email program so they can instantly type in a message. Right now I am using mailto:myaddress@provider.com. It isn't working for me. Does anyone have a suggestion what I could use? Thank you very much for your help.

E-mail Link From Flash Movie
Newbie with question about e-mail.
I set a link in a flash movie using the "get url" action to open an e-mail application (mailto:blah@blah.com) When I click on the link, the browser trys to open a web page by the name of "mailto:blah@blah.com" (same as e-mail address) Then the e-mail applicaton opens. Question: How do I keep the browser from trying to open a page named the same as my e-mail address?

Question 2: When I open a new window from a flash movie, it works fine but when I try to close the window using a java script called "close window", it gives me a dialog box saying that the web page is trying to close the window and I have to click "Yes". This is not an issue in Netscape, only IE. Thanks!

How Do I Make My Flash Movie A Link?
I made a flash movie and I wanted to make it a link, (kinda like how all the pop-up ads are links when you place your cursor over them). Changing Link In Flash Movie

I made a website in flash so I want to put my email address there also so if they want to contact me they can just click on it and the default email app will open up. I know how to do that in Dreamweaver (it's that mailto: command) so how do you do it in flash? I know a little bit of AS3.

I am trying to create my website in Dreamweaver and placing swf's I have made into tables in the dreamweaver document. But how to make a swf in Dreamweaver link to another page in Dreamweaver?? Flash Movie Link Problem
I am trying to figure out how to make my flash movie link to the corresponding page. In the properties box there is a file "which tells where the movie is located", just beneath that it has Src (source) box which also tell where the movie is located and I'm confused because I would think at least one of these would allow me to link this movie. Oh I got carried away. I'm using Dreamweaver to publish the site. Does anyone know how to make a flash movie link to a page?

I have been trying for hours to get this working so any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Making A Flash Movie A Link

I realise the answer will be really simple but unfotunately the answer is currently totally eluding me!

I have a small flash movie on my website. I want it to redirect the user to my forum page on click.

I thought it would be a simple matter of putting a <a href></a> around my movie code. It doesn't seem to work though!?

Hi - i have what is probably an easy questions for those who know what they are doing.

I have a flash menu in a frame on my website - i also have text links below it in html - all i want to achieve is that when someone clicks the text links below the flash movie, it opens a page into mainFrame, whilst telling the flash movie to goto & stop frame 1. i assume i need to use some kind of FS command - but have no idea where to begin.

Please provide any info i may need to include in the flash file for this to work.

Download Link In A Standalone Flash Movie?
hi there. this is probably a very simple question.... sorry!

anyway, I have an standalone flash projector file, running from a CD-rom. on the CD-rom I also have a .pdf file. I want to create a link where the user can download this file to the desktop. surely there's a better way of accessing the file rather than using getURL? hopefully because getURL is causing sporadic crashing of my movie!

HTML Link Affects Flash Movie
Hi people! I've 'stucked' in a problem and wishes someone helps me out!!!
I'm just developing an hybrid website (flash+HMTL) and I want to add a simple feature:HTML link who affects the flash movie. Basically, I got the flash-menu in the top... and the HTML menu in the bottom... content stays between them - I'm using the same links in both.

The obective is to put animations/transitions in each section... no mather what kinda link did you use.
