Flash Movie Not Displaying On Web Page?
Hi guys...I built this website: http://www.straightshade.com/On the homepage, there is a very, very simple animation of a lamp shade in the middle on the right. The navigation is also a flash movie. I have had 2 people say that they can't see the lampshade animation...but the navigation flash movie displays fine. They've checked multiple browsers, and the movie does not display on any of them. Has anyone heard of a problem like this before? Any solutions?I've attached the fla here in case I did something funny in the actual movie...but I doubt it, this animation is not complex.thanks for your helptony

I have a list of links that I want to open an external HTML page within my Flash movie how can I do this?
For example: 5 links changing a common content area. The content area would display 1.htm, 2.htm ..., depending on which link you selected.

Flash Page Not Displaying In IE7
I have a flash page located at http://www.springmountainranchut.com. By clicking on the menu at the left titled "The Mountain" and then Clicking on the menu bottom center titled "Master Plan Map & Movie", should display a map and movie when you click on the "Play Movie" link. The .swf was created using MX Studio 2004 with published settings of action script 2.0, flash player 7. IE7 using flash player 9 will not display the page where IE6 using flash player 7 displays just fine. I have uninstalled flash player 9 using the adobe uninstall file and reinstalled from the adobe website.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

I need some help... I have a game, which, at the end tallies the score. I would like to then pass that /:score variable over to a .asp pop up page that simply displays the score. I was successful in making it show in the url but how can I get it to show on the page itself.

Box In Flash Displaying Html Page?
Hi all, I'm trying to help my friend make a personal website with flash for an online community he's part of. I've made a basic layout and everything for him, but I have come across a little bit of a stumbling block. The community has pre-existing code that allows for a guestbook. I'd like to link to this guestbook, and have the html page showup inside of a box inside the flash movie so that I don't have to make any pages pop up or anything. Does anybody know of a way to do this? I can't seem to find anything on any sites. I'm probably missing something.

Obtaining From A HTML Page & Displaying In Flash
Hiya People!
Does anybody have any idea how to obtain text from an external HTML page, and display it in a Flash movie.
I have a client who wants me to replicate the text from his HTML site in a Flash site that I am creating. The information this text is displaying will be changing every few minutes so I need set up a loop in the code used to obtain the text, so that my site will be updated automatically.

Displaying Flash Document In HTML Page
I have created a Flash document and am going about displaying it in a HTML page.
I have displayed a background by referencing a .jpg file in the body background tag, and have then used the align tag to center the contents of the page - leaving me with the Flash document centered in the browser, on top of the background.
I would be grateful if someone could explain how I go about adding the following two features:
1. I would like the Flash document to be placed at the very top of the browser window, with no gap or top margin. The current Flash movie is NOT placed inside a table or anything else, and is embedded after the align center tag.
2. I would like to know how to create an effect I've seen on numerous sites (http://www.logoyes.com/index2.html) where a drop shadow or something similar is placed either side of the the embedded Flash document. I'm aware that the effect is usually acheived with a long vertical image, but don't know how to go about positioning the images.

[CS3] Flash Element Displaying Half Off Page In IE7
Hi, hope you can help.
Just putting a new web site together with a small simple flash element displaying some fading images. The flash object displays fine in firefox, opera and google's chrome, but when viewed in IE7, the first time it loads is fine. The next time it loads (ie go to another page or refresh) it appears half off the screen and the content is not visible. You can just see the edge of the preloader at the top of the screen.

The swf pulls in jpg files via a xml file. The swf is in a php include file which is put togetehr on the fly by the web server. swf was inserted via Dreamweaver.
I'm not a flash expert, so am rather stuck here!

one of my clients told me that Intel.com has the feature on it's homepage . I checked the site and found it was true... but dispite banging my head on the pages/js and the source-code. I just couldn't figure out how it was done since the page used too many DHTML and the flash was embeded into js !!??

I was wondering if anyone can assist me. I am creating a site with DotNetNuke vs.4 and trying to embed a Flash Movie in one of the containers.
The flash movie plays correctly in Safari and Firefox, but not IE. Do you know if this has something to do with the type of DocType I am using? or is there something wrong with my embed code.

Flash Movie Not Displaying?
hi guys,
i sent a link to my website to my mum, and she says she just sees a white box!? i have flash detection on it so if the user doesnt have flash it would say 'you dont have flash'. i have also tested it on different platforms. im thinking it might be to do with the actual code thats embedding the flash.

I have a client that swears blind, that the flash5 movie that we are proposing for them is running EXTREMELY fast. It seems to be the only computer on the planet that is doing this.

ive been browsing all over the net without success to find a tutorial that will help me include html in a flash movie. what i would like to do is have a box in one of my scenes that will load an image/html file from my server, rather than include the image/html in the movie.

Thanks for the reply. It somewhat works now however it will only show 1 of the movie clips at a time. I want it to display both movie clips representing subscripts for the checmical equations. I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong??

Does anyone know how to display a web page within a movie placeholder within flash 5. Is this even possible?? I have tried it using loadMovie and getUrl also... the closest i have got is the Website being displayed in another pop-up window.

Displaying Specific PDF Page
Greetings, Flash users--I am new to the world of Flash, and have gleaned several goodies from reading other posts in the Newbie forum. With the assistance there, I was able to build my Flash presentation to open a PDF with no trouble.
Here's the kicker..the full PDF I will eventually use is 546 pages long. It is divided into very specific sections. I have been able to trick the system by inserting a "fake" PDF page at the very front. I created it in Word, made it a PDF page, then created links from it to the various "jump points" in the large file. However, when I want to go to a different section, I must go all the way back to my Flash scene that gets me to the linking PDF page. My potential clients are not guaranteed to be well versed in Acrobat that I can count on them using the bookmarks once they open the file.
SO..I am wondering if there is a way to create a link directly from within the Flash scene to the 4 specific points in my PDF where sections begin.

I have run in a problem where my .swf movie does not load on the html page. However the movie is on the server and I am able to access it. I have made sure that it is linking to the correct file.
I was able to view it, but then I changed some of my site setting in dreamweaver. i changed the root directory and have not been able to view the .swf since

i'm currently using a dynamic text field to display external html in my flash movie.. and everything seems to work fine, however i can't display images.. they show up.. but if you have to scroll to them then they get cut in half... anybody know what the problem is?

Displaying Beyond Flash Movie Bounds In Html?

Is it possible to have an swf embedded in HTML behave the way it does in the standalone flash player?
What I am trying to do is this:
I have a movie that is 650X440 and there are background elements that are approximately 1600X1200.
The 650X440 portion is in the vertical and horizontal center of the 1600X1200 area.
When I test the movie in the Flash Player, the 650x440 portion remains CENTERED in the player without scaling no matter what I do with the window. In addition, since the background elements are so large, there is a seamless BG behing the 650x440 portion that maintains its position as well.
If I embed this in HTML, all I get is the 650x440 window with the BG color of the movie outside the bounds of the 650x440 movie window.
Is there a way to have the html show the full bounds of the 1600x1200 box and keep the content, which is contained within the 650x440 movie box, centered in the browser window.
I do not want to have to scale the movie at all. I am using pixel/screen fonts that will antialias if the movie is scaled.

I have a question regarding flash.
My project scenario is, I have total no of 60 movie clips (Quick time) and are about to take 4 to 5 minutes each, my aim is to display 20 movie clips randomly at a time on the screen.
i.e., if we click on a button for the first time, it should display a 20 movie clips on the screen and when we click for the second time it should display other set of 20 clips, it may or may not repeat the previous ones. It means for every person it should be displayed with a different set of movie clips, no two persons can get the same set of movies. The movies should be randomly selected.
Could you please tell me what i need to do. and i was new to the action scripting. can you please write the script for this.

Flash Movie Not Displaying All The Loaded Files
Hi, I am working with flash 8 professional. I have made some site in the flash 8 and its working quite fine in the Flash authoring environment. But!!!! when i check it out side the flash even locally on my system without using flash it dont shows all the movies loaded and neither do the navigaion is working properly it dont load any movie clips and things like that. Older Browser/PC Not Displaying Flash Movie

Dynamic Displaying Button On Flash Movie
I have one Flash movie that when a variable is passed to the movie will display a "Special" Button on the Host's Flash Movie. When the viewer sees the movie they have a button that I will call Request Talk and when they click on that button it shows in the Chat window that this person has requested to talk. Now the host will click on that user from a PeopleList Listing and then click on a Grant User. Then when this happens, I would like a button to appear on that client's movie that will give them the ability to make their Microphone Live so they can talk through the Flash Communication Server.
Anyone have an idea on this.
Flash 8 Dynamic Map Displaying XML Data, Problem With Displaying Text

I'm working on a project in which viewers can see a map with state parks highlighted as buttons. onRollOver a caption pops up displaying the name of the park, acreage and feet of shoreline. onRelease a movie clip is loaded into a holder. The data is being stored in an XML file integrated with a content management system... The AS for displaying the caption works fine, but I cannot get the XML data to display in the dynamic text fields contained within the caption MC. There are 37 buttons that need to display the popup and I am looking for some advice on how I can effectively navigate the XML nodes and display the data accordingly in the text fields. Below is my current code, I have not yet added the onRelease function because, I'm pretty sure that i'm going to run into the same issue that i'm having with the caption popup... The last obstacle will be that the caption is only displaying 3 of the child nodes, while the MC loaded into the holder will be displaying 7 of the child nodes. I'm guessing that using the attributes property and modifying my XML would be the easiest... but i'm relatively new to integrating XML data into Flash and am trying to minimize the work that I create for myself. Displaying On HTML Page Problem
I need some help, I'm making a simple tutorial using flash and I have finished it and the published file runs fine when played in the SWF player. However, when I open the HTML file and view the presentation from there, it gets to the point where i have a "Play Movie" button in the tutorial that plays an animation. When I click on it, it returns the presentation to the beginning instead of playing the animation(movie). I've removed the button and rebuilt and published and it works fine, so i'm thinking it's a problem with the button, but all the button is doing is " on (release) {gotoAndPlay (31);}. Once again, it works fine when just playing inside the swf player, but when i open it through internet explorer 6, it loops right back to the beginning when i click that play movie button. Has anyone had this problem? If so, how could I fix it? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

So I made a website for a school function(www.labash.lsu.edu), and for some reason, anyone who has viewed the page previously, when they go to the website, it still shows the same version of the page that they saw last time they visited, instead of showing the newest update. [F8] Internet Explorer Not Displaying Page

I have put a Flash movie on a site I've developed; the pages all work in Netscape and IE but when I embedded the swf, only Netscape displays the page, IE gives me a blank page. I can view my code when I view the page source but no content, not even the HTML or graphics that show on the nonFlash pages.
What can I do to make it work?

Displaying External Swf Once Page Loads
I currently have ActionScript displaying the external swf when you click on a button. This works however when the external swf loads the button is faded out to show you are currently on that so called page. So there should be no need to click and just let it load automatically as it is the first thing you see when the file is loaded. Another issue is that you can see the external swf load briefly for about 2 seconds and then it disappears.
How do you prevent it from appearing when it's loading and how do you get it to display automatically after the main stage is done displaying the animations, etc?

Centred Pop Win To .php Page Not Displaying Properly
Hi guys,
Thanks for checking out my post...
In my Flash 8 movie I have a centred pop up window that launches when you press a button.
I want this pop up to open the url 'news/news.php?pagename=headlines' but everytime the pop window opens, it just displays news/news.php and doesn't display the php include or any graphics from news.php below the include.
When I visit 'news/news.php?pagename=headlines' in a normal browser window, it works absolutely fine so I can't understand why this is happening.
Does anyone have any suggestions by any chace?

Problem Displaying Flash Movie Due To Quality Settings
I developed what I thought was a very nice flash movie to embed in the page header of a client's website. I'm working on a prototype.
The web page header is a simple solid blue graphic with thin horizontal lines in it, which I developed in Macromedia Fireworks.
I had created a "TV" screen in the page header graphic file, cut and sliced the TV screen part out and embedded it in the flash file itself (I use SWISH to build my Flash movies), layering it on top of everything else so that it looks like the movie plays inside the TV.
When constructing the HTML page, I created a table using a background image of the simple solid blue/thin horizontal lines graphic and then inserted the flash file into the table and crossed my fingers. If it all worked perfectly the thin horizontal lines in the flash file would sync up perfectly with the thin horizontal lines in the rest of the table.
They didn't. And I can't figure out why.
But get this: if you right-click on the Flash movie and change the Quality from HIGH to LOW, the lines all sync up!!!. But the text in the movie looks terrible. Set it back to HIGH (you might need to refresh your browser) and the lines go back out of sync, but the text goes back to looking smooth.
What's going on here?
Why don't the lines in the movie sync up ALL the time???

You have to look real hard to see where the lines go out of sync on both the left and right sides of the flash movie.

Problem With My .swf Displaying--shows White Page
Ok....I have done many a flash website and movies etc. I have never had this happen and I am stumped! Because it seems so obvious...but I can't figure this out!! GRRRR
if you go to www.autographixdesign.ca and click the show intro button the intro plays no problem and should show a loading bar.
but if you click to enter 'site only'.....I get a blank white page which shows the browser is attempting to load the page...but it never does.???
I have uploaded and reuploaded the page etc.
The .swf sits on a html page called main.htm created in dreamweaver which basically has a 'layer' created for the .swf file to load and display in!!
the .swf file is only 153kb in size.....which is not that bad a size...but I thought it was that a load bar was needed....tried it...still don't work???
Does anyone have any ideas??
The intro and other .swf file come from one original .fla movie I created...then I split the 2 up...created the intro.swf seperatly by 'testing scene and then the menu.swf file by testing scene and naming it Menu.swf
I have no idea what is going on. I am using Flash MX and figure this has to be something simple.
when I view the site off my hard drive....no problem at all....only once I uploaded..

Problem Displaying Next Page Of Results In Datagrid
Hi,
I am using pageable results to populate a dataset that is bound to a datagrid. I followed the example on amfphp.org and have been able to successful populate my datagrid with the first page of results. However, when I scroll down in my datagrid the next page of results doesn't appear, just empty spaces where they should appear. My NetConnection debugger is showing that the next 3 pages of results are successfully called/returned, so I don't know why they aren't appearing in the datagrid. Maybe I am missing something. Any suggestions appreciated....

Flash Displaying Of Html Not Displaying Spans Right
I have a swf that calls a php script. The script outputs html and then the html is displayed in a dynamic text box. The textbox is set to display html.
My problem is this. The
HTML Code:
<b>Concealed Weapon Law </b>
will print bold on the dynamic text field, but
HTML Code:
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Badges</span>
will not display bold on the dynamic text field.
I have an admin section built that allows a user to use a wysiwyg editor (js) to create the text and it does the span style way.....
I have no way of changing that or I would.
Is there a way in flash to recognize that span style info to print out bold?
Tracking And Displaying Mouse Cursors From Multiple Users On One Page
Think a multiplayer game, except this is tracking multiple mouse cursor positions on the page.
www.doodlenow.com is an excellent example of something I want to accomplish.
When a user logs on to my page, I want his mouse position to be visible to every other user on the site, and I'm not expecting more than 5 people on the site at a time.
Anyways, does anyone have any tips or tutorials or just a push in the right direction of how to accomplish this, or can provide a simple demo of even tracking one other persons mouse position?
Also, will I need any special server technology to do this? I know php and mysql will be used to track the user names and such, but other than that, tracking the actual mouse positions and displaying them to other users.....
Any help out here?

Getting The URL Of The Page Containing A Flash Movie
Hello. Just a quick question to something that seems like it should be easy..
Let's say I have a SWF on www.mysite.com that a bunch of users embed onto their websites. I want the SWF to be able to detect which URL it is that it's being embedded on (so, if the page which embedded the SWF was on www.yoursite.com, I want the SWF to be able to detect www.yoursite.com). Is there a clean and easy way of doing this? All the examples I could find would return only www.mysite.com.
As I'll be needing this data in an ASP.NET site, requiring server side code (regardless of language) is okay, as long as I can grab the containing page's URL.

Web Page In A Flash Movie?
I have about 20 pages on my website that have only a list of links on them. I want to create a flash file that people can place on their myspace profile that will allow people to view what ever list they want. I would like to do this without using flash but myspace wont allow you to do so using html.
so would i be able to do it in flash? I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Is it possible to embed a page into flash?
Gap Between Top Of Page And Flash Movie
my problem is that I have a small flash movie which i use in a frame at the op of my page (horizontal). However, when I view the page there is a big white gap between the movie and the top of the web page. How can I get rid of this? i've tried going through publishing options and changing alignments etc....all to no avail.
Controlling Other Flash Movie On Same Page
Is it possible to have two flash files on one HTML page and have one movie control the other? For example, a rollover in one movie will trigger an event in another movie on the page.
