I know it can be done... I just don't know how to do it. Can some one please help me on how to put a .swf or .html flash movie on a website.

[CS3] Flash Movie Doesn't Get Refreshed On My Website - It Keeps The Old Movie
Hello
I need help - I have publish my flash movie on my index page. I made some changes (text, colors, movie clip) - when i upload the new version and refresh my website, it doesn't get refreshed. even if i change my settings in IE to automatically check new version of pages, or check on new IE restart, or whatever it keeps the old flash movie. I tried deleting my cookies, temporary files also. no change
It does my head in ..
anyone know what is causing this ? i'm using Flash CS3 and IE 6

Flash Movie On Website
Hi all, having a bit of trouble inserting a flash movie onto my website, What im trying to do is insert http://www.members.aol.com/simps100/videos/samoff.swf into http://www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk/tpm...rush/video.php but for some reason none of the controls show up. The reason they are on different servers is to save bantwith.

Flash Movie/website Help
Hey all,
New to the site and was looking for a bit of help.
Ive only recently started using flash and i was looking for some help with a few ideas. I am looking to make a website using flash and i wanted to have a "door" close and re-open when you clicked on different content. So your on the homepage, with the homepage content, then you click on say Videos page, and then doors close on the homepage content, and then re-open to show the Videos page content. Any ideas on how this would be done would be great :P
Another thing is what is the Actionscript that i could put at the end of one movieclip, to start another when it has finished.

Put Movie On Flash Website?
Hi,
At the company where I work we have a website that consist of only flash.
Now they would like to put a movie on it and I see a lot of problems coming up.
I should say that personally I've never worked with flash.
However.
If we would put the movie into the source and compile it there would be a problem next week or month when we want to change the movie, we have to go back and change the source and re-compile ?
Not good for us.
Is there a way to use an external .swf and link it into the website's .swf?
So when we do want to change it all we have to do is replace the .swf.
I'm very thankful for any help I can get.

From Flash Movie To Website
Hi ,
I am building a website here, with a flash movie automatically plays on the index page, with a link "click here to ENTER THE SITE" below. When the movie finishes, viewers must click on the link to see the contents.
What I am trying to figure out is, how can I take my viewers to the contents page automatically when the movie reaches the end???? Is this possible at all?

Opening A Div Tag On A Website With A Flash Movie
hey everyone,
I am making a kids desk in flash that will hold the students ipod, binders, and folders. When a student clicks one of those items in my flash movie it will pop open a div tag that I create in dreamweaver. Does anyone know how to do this? I am doing it for a small project for middle school kids. I am not doing this project for money, but they are really depending on me to do this for them. I am not sure how to do it if it is possible at all. Does anyone have an example of this or somewhere I can find the coding to do this?
I am currently using flash 8. I know the kids will thank any of you that assist me in figuring this out for them! thanks!
Flash Movie Will Not Play On Website
Hello,
I am having a huge problem getting a flash video to play on a site that I am designing. I have uploaded it to the server with the .flv file linked to the .swf file in the component inspector. I have followed the directions to a T. When you pull up the site you can not see the video at all. Like I didn’t even upload it. I called the hosting company and they indicated that this particular server was old and that they needed to upgrade it to support flash... They did and it still does not work.
I am trying to trouble shoot this to figure out what is going on. Could it be the server? I have it on UNIX hosting; does it need to be linex? This is the first time I have run into this issue and I am really stumped. If anyone could give me advice I would be much appreciative.

Troubles Using A Flash Movie On A Website
Ok, I'm one of the newbies
This guy bought a template and asked me to use it for his website. My problem is that I changed the structure of the website (used to have iframes) and now the flash movie, which is used for the menu and header, is acting differently. If you check the website out providerci.com and click any link, you will see the flash movie reloads. Trouble is the movie reloads EVERY time a link is clicked. What I want the movie to do is load when the person enters the site and then not reload again. I'm very ignorant of flash but I suspect I need to change some scripting. I'm having a hard time finding the right frame with the scripting that needs changing. Does anyone have any suggestions? This is kind of a shot in the dark but I'll try to provide need info

AS 2 Flash Movie As Website Background
I am relatively inexperienced with Flash. I know just enough to get myself into trouble as you will see here...
I am creating a website with the bulk of the material in flash. All was going well until the client asked for a twinkling effect on the static textured background (created in PS). I was able to find a file on the web and apply that code to a flash file to create this effect. I layered this in Dreamweaver in div layer 1, the main web content (combo of html & flash) on div layer 2.
The problem is that it slows down all my animation in the main content. Plus I previewed it on a MAC and the quick flash intro I created crawls at agonizingly slow speed!!!
Does anyone know a better, "lighter" way to do what I need to do? here is the link to my site , in progress...

Extracting A Flash Movie Off A Website

but it seems like the flash movie is somehow encoded. could any one suggest what i can do?

No Sound When Playing Flash Movie From Website

I have a webpage with a flash movie embedded in it. The movie runs fine but no sound is being played, and it can't seem to find the sound files. I know the sound files are in the right place because I can play the movie using the flash player from the directory where the webpage resides. I am calling the flash movie with this:

Flash Movie Works On Computer Not On My Website
i have a flash music player that loads songs i converted from mp3 files to swf movies and allows the user to switch back and forth among songs. It reads the number of songs and the titles from text files. The player works as i want it to on my computer but when i load it onto my website along with the swf music files and the text files it will only play the first song and does not display the song title from the text file. Is there anything special i need to do so that the flash movie will work online.

Mounting A Flash Movie Into A Website And Preloaders.
The topic pretty much says it all.
I'd like to know how one takes a .swf flash movie and shows it on a webpage properly. For instance, I want the movie to be the exact size that it is in the program (550 x 400), not to take up the whole screen like it would if you looked at the .swf directly. Also, it'd be nice if I could have it open in its own window of the same size as the movie such that there's no other web material to interfere with it (like Newgrounds does).
Another thing I'd like to learn to do is create a preloader. Now, I'm relatively new to Flash, but I know to get around the MX interface and where stuff is, etc. About the only thing I really know nothing about is Actionscript, except for adding some actions and commands to frames and buttons. So, if someone could teach me or show me a tutorial on how to make a preloader with as little code as possible, that would be just awesome.
Oh and I'm no stranger to HTML and PHP, though I'm rusty on Javascript, but I understand web programming fairly easily.

I'm trying to make a splash page. So when it's done it goes to the website. I tried the goto action and added the site info, and nothing happens. I must be missing somehting. I am new to programing flash movies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the review.

How To Get Startup Flash Movie To Play Before Loading Website?
I have a simple movie that i would like to play for an opening screen. After the movie gets done i would like the regular html website to load. I'm new to all of this and i can't figure it out to save my life. The home page is index.htm. I used Flash Mx to make the movie. What would i have to do in order for that to happen?
Another thing...I don't know too much about html, but i have a flash movie on the html website. I did that by just pasting the movie's html code into the main html code of that web page. Is that the right way to do it or should it be done otherwise if you just want to have a flash movie playing in a page?

Qustion Embed Flv Movie In Flash Website. HELPPlease
I made a flash site which embed a skinless flv video
(file name play.flv) in FLASH CS3. BTW, i do this coz
Flash can give a skinless flv movie but dreamweaver can not.
After publish, CS3 grenarate 3 files,
A swf file : Play.swf (same name as my flv file) ,
A html file : index.html
A Javascript file: AC_RunActiveContent.js
have no prolem when i preview on my computer
BUT After i upload these 3 files and my original flv file to server, i cant not see my flv movie playing at all. Also not work when i try this in Dreamweaver.
anyone can give me a idea what can i do?

Flash Movie Skins On Content Management Website

Im developing flash based film for a client using a content Management web development system
The flash movie works fine on upload but they content management system they use is having problems accessing the movie skin. I have tried adding the movie skin (controls) via dreamweaver but still having the same problem. Any ideas on how to give the movie skins an absolute reference / link? I think this is the problem.

Play Continuous FLASH Movie In HTML Website
Currently, I have an HTML wesbite with a FLASH movie at the top of every page. The movie is just a slow, simple animation that fades images and type in and out, no action script. What I am looking for is a way to have the Flash movie, play continuously throughout the site; no matter where the user clicks, the movie should continue animating in the same place it left off. Currently, it reloads/starts from the beginning every time I navigate to another page.

Flash Movie Within Flash Website
I have a Flash website, created from a template. I believe the website was created in Flash MX. I am using Flash8 Professional and have all available updates loaded.
I added a movie clip to one of the website pages using the "Import Video" function of Flash8. I used one of the player skins in the import module (clearall). When I test the movie on my local PC, it works fine. I published it (using the option to load it from an external server - but not a Flash Progressive Server) and moved the new .swf website file and the .swf skin file along with the movie clip .flv file to the website and checked the website .swf file. Plays great. Nice skin, movie plays. Happy me.
Unfortunately, looking at the page in a browser there is only a black rectangle there where the skin and the movie should be. After several emails and phone calls to my web hosting company and the template company (both getting to level 2 support), they both believe I've done everything properly. One guy suggested I use a Action Script to play the movie clip instead of the embedded viewer skin.
Good to hear except the movie still has no player and you can't see any clip there.
I really need to figure out what is wrong here. Sure could use some help. Thanks in advance.....

i am trying to figure out how websites like www.aegean.net work, where the movie loads into a full screen frame. i get that you have to have a new movie load into _blank, but how does it know to go full screen as just a swf that you move around in?
is it an html with no nav bar?

i'm trying to make my first webpage entirely out of flash, and i need a little help.
i've designated different things as movie files. there is an introduction movie, where it asks the user to 'click here' in order to enter my site. how do i make it so that when the user clicks, the site starts the next movie, which involves loading components like buttons and text? i just don't know what action script command to use and where exactly to put it.
also, what if i want another movie to start playing simultaneously with a different one once the first movie reaches a certain frame? (so movie 1 gets to frame 130, and then i want movie 2 to start, too, while movie 1 continues). what script do i use for that and where do i put it?
in general, does anyone know any good free sites that help specifically with making flash webpages? i have this strategy in my mind and i have all my ideas, i just can't figure out the technicalities of making everything connect correctly. sometimes things just feel like spontaneously looping on my site and its driving me nuts! so if anyone has an example source code or file that they could send my way so that i could see how flash movies should be linked, etc... the flash tutorials online don't have any examples of actual webpages, like how to make links work so that you can jump back in forth within your site while the background doesn't change, etc. please reply to this post or email them to thesilly@aol.com . much love and thanks!!
Going To A Website After A Movie
I have a scripted movie that moves a panel across the screen. I have a bunch of button thats that make it move and each has a different target x so the panel moves different distances depending on the button. The problem I am having is getting a website to load AFTER the movie. The difficult thingis that I want a different website depending on what button is pushed.

Just finishing putting together a flash based website working off of a template bought online... i an thinking of adding a movie clip (8mb) to play on one of the pages - is this advisable, i don't want it to slowdown the page - are there any rules - no no's with adding video clips to flash sites?

Movie Like Survivor Website
i am a new user to actionscript and i have being going nuts tryin to get the effects like on the survivor website. firstly i need to know how to make a loop so that when on a mouseover effect 10 frmaes play out like from frames 21 to 31 and then it goes back to frame 21 and then continues on from there. Basically i need all of the info on how to to do what the cbs.com/primetime/survivor4/ website has. HELP!
Website Introduction Movie
Alright guys --- I have tried to ask the obvious questions about preloaders and resolution issues by using the search button. I know how annoying that can get. I am good to go, but I can't figure out one problem. I have my preloader go from scene 1 'preloader', to scene 2 'website' using the right scripting -- works like a charm, and then I try to have it play an intro movie but for some reason, the movie loops when i click on the enter button, instead of going to the correct frame (frame 2). Here is the action scripting on the button:
on (press) {
_root.gotoAndPlay(2);
}
now I KNOW that problem relates to the _root. But Ive changed it to just
gotoAndPlay(2);
and
gotoAndPlay("website", 2);
and neither of those codes work either.
let me know what you guys think.. if anything I could post the file on here and you experts can help me out.

Play Movie Once Within Website ?

I've got the same small flash movie at the top of every page of my website.
At the moment the movie replays everytime I visit a new page within my site. I want to stop this.
I want the movie to play only once for any new, first time visitors. After that I want the movie to be permanently on the final frame on every page within my site.

Loading A Website In A Movie
in my school, the installed this network restriction program which blocks any websites that contain certain meta tags. (Basically trying to eliminate illegal material) but it actually blocks any website containing words like movie, song, picture, etc. Is there a way to make a 800x600 movie that will load any website you want. There would be a text bar on the top for the URL and it would load everything on the bottom. Maybe then the websites will be able to be loaded.

How Can A Movie Tell The Website Page Your Currently On?
I need to determine what page i'm currently browsing in from Flash MX.
Let's say i'm a movie on www.mymovie.com/somepage.asp.
I want to get that url address. If I use movieclip._url this just gives me where the swf was loaded from. I need the page that's hosting it. I would like it to return www.mymovie.com/somepage.asp.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
