I am hosting a contest here for flashkit members. You must create a banner advertisement for a website either using flash or any other image creating program such as (photoshop or paint shop pro). It can be static or animated. Winner receives a Flash MX book. More details and guidelines below:
Guidelines for banner advertisement
-Dimensions in pixels must be 620(W) X 60(H).
-Must have a gaming related theme.
-Must have the words "Join the Community" on it.
-(Optional) May have the words Gaming Empires on it (since that is the name of the website that it is for)
-(Optional) May include the Gaming Empires logo which is attached.

Moving Text On A Free-from Area ? (free Curve Scrolling)
Hi there
I am trying to get some text to move inside a specific area.
I have attached a gif showing the wanted rute - inside the legs of the non-conform X-letter.
Is there a way to do this - i dont have any math on the movement of the X-legs.
1) I am kind of newbie, so where do i start out - please help.
2) If i can get the rute specified for my text to move - can i then save the path for later use with other text.
i will use it on my homepage as some kind of intro-news-text-scroller.

Hey guys, i'm looking to get a full version, or a 30 day trial, but I don't know which version of flash i should get. I tried CS3 a while back, but unfortunately my computer can't really handle it. Free Flash AS3 IDE?
My trial for flash CS3 ran out after I was working some projects. I have to wait for college to begin before I get free software from the IT department, so I was wondering what free and legal AS3 IDE's exist?
I'm looking for the best one out there that's been proven and is stable. All I do is use AS3, so I don't need any stage or drawing API stuff if that matters.
I'm just a hobbyist, so I don't wanna waste money for the CS3 version. I mean 699 USD is a rip-off.
So anyone suggestions or links to IDE's you guys use? I can't imagine all of you "bought" the full version.

With some knowledge of Flash and Perl you can easily make your own site stats in flash. We created a sample script in Perl and a example flash movie for you and it's FREE.
Experiment with this example and you can easily extend it's functionality to fit your own needs.

Free Flash AS3 Compiler?
I'm looking for a free or affordable flash AS3 compiler. I am trying to find either find an AS3 command line compiler that i can then run through a python script via a server side language like asp .net or a server side compiler of some sort.
Either way im tring to find a compiler that can compile a movie using as3 code using any language and i will worry about getting it to work via server side.
It needs to be in AS3 and i don't want to use the flex sdk. I have found a couple like haxe(haxe.org) although it requires not a direct compile and a tad modification to the code.

does anyone know of a good way how to create Flash content with .swf result for free? Text, video, pictures, animations and sounds are required but basically no actionscripting. One way is to make .pdf and then covert to .swf but this way no videos or animations can be used right?
