Fullscreen "Transparent" Flash Settings?
Is there a way to set the stage/background of a flash 8 app to transparent. I know you can set window mode to transparent in Publish settings, so is it the default grey of the browser html window that's the issue??
I've been wondering if it was possible to mimic a desktop game like Pirates of the Caribbean Desktop Galleon.

Export Frame For Classes In Publish Settings Flash Action Script Settings
My preloader doesn't load until 100KB into the movie
and I figured out it's because it's loading my components
(I'm using 3 instances of a Media Display and of a Media Controller)
in the first frame.
So I changed the Flash ActionScript Settings (in the Publish Settings)
to Export Frame for Classes 2
which made the first frame much lighter -
an acceptable 10K
BUT that made my components act very badly.

Button That Can Minimize A Fullscreen Flash Exe To Not Fullscreen
Hi!! I have a flash projector file that turns fullscreen. I have a quit button at the top of the presentation but i want to have a button that will just minimize it to its actual size incase people need to see there desktop. Anybody know script for something like this. I was trying something like:

Transparent Background & Transparent Color In Flash Player
Hi...
I know I can make the main _root background transparent by adding awmode = transparent property to the html embedding code. But what if I want more complex effects... it´s easier if you see what I´m trying to do... visit this URL and note the flash animation -> www.chapeco-online.com.br/test . It has a transparent background and a little fade in effect done by a simple motion tweening... what if I want to motion tween from a transparent color (so the html background shows up) instead of white? Is that possible?

Transparent Flash Over Non-Transparent Flash Problem
we are gonna put a transparent flash Ad on a website. but this website already has some flash on its pages.
the problem is when we use <div> to put the tranparent flash float over the webpages, the transparent flash actually get coverred by the non-transparent flash, no matter how big i set the z-index value.
i have tested locally and found out transparent flash always get covered by non-transparent flash.
have anyone had this problem before?? do u know how to solve it??
[AS FLASH8] - Loading Fullscreen External SWF's Into A Fullscreen SWF
Hey guys, sorry if this gets confusing I'm trying to explain the best I can.

What I've done is created a "fullscreen SWF" by using ActionScript to stretch a movie clip (yellow rectangle) in the background to fill the whole browser frame. The navigation is positioned in the upper left using ActionScript also; when the user resizes the window, positions are adjusted so the nav always stays in the upper left. (Adapting the technique from http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorial...retching/13567)
External SWFs are loaded from an XML file into a blank movie clip on a layer that is between the yellow background and the navigation (adapting the kirupa XML Photo Gallery). Here's my problem: I want to be able to create full screen backgrounds for these external SWFs so when they are loaded into the main SWF they cover up all the of yellow background of the main clip. Also if the user resizes the window, I hope like the main SWF, the background on the external SWF can also resize to match.
If you press next twice to get to item three for example, I want to be able to stretch that orange box to fill the entire background. You'll notice if you resize the window on the third item, the orangle rectangle will adjust, it's just not correct. Any ideas? Maybe I'm going about this wrong. when you right click on a website with a flash movie in it sometimes you see 2 items in the menu and sometimes there is more. like on my movies i have zoom settings, quality, play, loop, rewind, forward, back, settings, print, and about macromedia flash 6. how do i get rid of all of those things like other sites ive seen? they only have settings(greyed out)and about macromedia flash. how is that done? is it somewhere in the export or publish settings?

Changing Settings In Flash
Sorry for such obvious questions but I can't figure out these simple things.
1. How do I select publish settings and make them the default? It is very straght forward with the background but for some reason more involved with the publish settings.
2. How do I get the actions widow to be a part of the bottom layout. When I select Window, Panel Sets and select Designer 1280 x 1024 it gives me everything laid out the way I want except the action panel. If I select 1280x 1024 developer it gives me the action panel where I want it but the rest is less than ideal. I've opened the action panel with designer 1280 x1024 but can't figure out how to anchor it there like it is with the developer 1280x1024.

Flash Publish Settings?
I am trying to publish a flash file and have a .gif file that I have made insert if it does not detect flash player 6.
I understand how to set these settings in the publish area, but I don't know how to set it up to link the .gif I already made to be inserted.
Can anyone help with this, or know a better way to achieve it?

Sound Settings In Flash For Web?
Hi all!
I am making a course in flash to be runned on web. The client is very much specific about file size and quality. I have sound for both roleplays and background fast music.
I know only about importing sound file and lip syncking. I have sound files in mp3 formate. I want to know what should be the settings of sound in 'properties bar' and also in 'publish settings'.
In publish esttings there are many options like -
Audio stream, mp3, 16 kbps, mono There is also a 'set' button in its right side.
I dont know anything about them.
I'll do what u'll tell me.
I want the exact settings so that the file size remain small and quality is also good.

i bought a cheap used computer from my brazilian friend, and it is loaded with flash MX, but he lost the discs. its hard enough trying to learn flash, but all menus and everything is in protugese, and i have no idea how to get it back to english....
Flash Video - Best Settings
I want to find out what the best practice is in creating a flash video from
an edited video clip for use on the web.
I have edited a video clip down to 5 minutes and have rendered it to an .avi
file. I then imported the .avi into Flash and have encoded using:
1. Progressive download
2. On2 VP6
3. 15fps frame rate
4. Medium quality
5. Video size 320x213 (213 comes up when I set width to 320 and maintain
aspect ratio)
6. Audio data rate - 16 kbps
This all works and the quality is fine when I insert the flash video into
Dreamweaver, but the file size it over 16mb and I've seen that other people
have file sizes that are 1/2 that for 5 minute videos.
What can I do better and still maintain quality?
Does it matter whether I render as .avi, .mpg, or other?
Should my Flash video encoding settings be different?

Flash-Publish Settings
I have found that some of the sites that i have created in flash only change sizes depending on the viewers browser. How can I stop this from happening. When publishing i always choose the following under the HTML tab:
Template: Flash Only
Dimensions: Match Movie (which is created at 640X480)
Quality: High
Window Mode: Window
HTML Alignment: Default
Scale: Default (show ALL)
Flash Alignment: Center Center
What will help me create pages that are always the same height and width on every browser?

Hi all,
I've a flash courseware developed which is SCORM 1.2 compliant so it has to use some JS.But this doesn't run on my client's machine so i'd asked him to change the security settings in Global security settings panel of Adobe's site as this works for me.(if i remove my C: folder from the allowed locations, the course doesn't run). But the problem now is the client doesnt see the dropdown box from where u can add the locations.

Flash MX Library Window Settings
I like to have the Library (f11) on the right hand menu side when i'm making things in flash. I've found out how to do it by grabbing the little dots and dragging it into that area, where it's much more useful to me than the "color swatches" and "answers". The problem is, whenever I even have to close the file, the library is gone again... and I have to do this every time I start or open a file, which is getting old very fast.
Is there any way to get flash MX to automatically have the library open and where I want it when I load the program, or open a file? I also like to have the "controller" window under the tools.
If someone could help me with this setup question I would really appreciate it, thanks.

Works With Settings On Flash Player 6 But Not 7?

I have a movie that is loaded into a parent movie. Originally, both were set to be published with flash player 6. I changed the parent one to player 7, and that works fine. Then I changed the child one to 7 and it doesn't work. It doesn't even do the first line of code on the first frame, which is to set a variable in the parent clip. What should I look for/what could be wrong?
I need it to be 7 because I'm using MovieClipLoader.

as we all know Publish settings in Flash will publish the HTML page too, but
I can only center the swf file in the html coding or in dreamwvr,
just curious about this,
what is the point of the html options in the flash settings for the center tags if it doesn't work ? and the only way to center the swf is in the html itself ?
Settings For A Stomp Pedal In Flash

I need some (a lot of) help with my project.
I am not into writing down settings for my guitar effect on paper so I figured I'd do this in Flash.
The pedal is a Deluxe Memory Man. It has 4 knobs and 2 on/off switches (but one of em is just an on/off switch).
What I want is to be able to set each knob and the switch to a position and then save the settings to an xml... then of course be able to load a setting from a list, which contains all "song titles" (settings) I have saved.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Modify Flash Configuration Or Settings
Hi everybody at the Forum. Can anyone help me or teach me How to modify the way Flash name files during the Export Movie (png sequence) process? I mean, If I export an images sequence, Flash name them myFile0001.png, myFile002.png... etcetera. But I need to name them myFile01.png, myFile02.png....etc.

Macromedia Flash Player Settings
Is the default setting for the Flash Player Local Storage 100kb? How does that translate into amount of information? I'm going to be working on a project that's going to require a lot of information be stored locally. My concern is 100kb is not enough and we can't have the people change their settings manually. Is there a way to do this with code? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Problems With Flash Player 8 Settings

I have movie I just saved as Flash 8, but now my textfields are not showing up.
All of my textfields have a FFF embedded and they all worked just fine but ever since I converted the file to Flash 8 they are not showing up.
This problem seems to be happening only when viewed from within the browser, if you open the swf file, all of the textfields work fine
Also, if I publish with the Flash Player 7 settings the problem is solved both in the swf file and from within the browser.
I have another problem switching from and to Flash Player 8 when using the aligner class from Elvis Mehmedovic http://emehmedovic.com/
The first time I publish the movie I get 3 errors, but if I publish again.. the errors are gone

Flash Player 8 Security Settings
Hi,
I work in an elearning industry where we make courses and we have to distribute them to our clients. Most of the times they are running on LMS so the flash player 8 security should not bother us much. But, there are times when we have to distribute our courses in CDROM(not as an exe) and also there is development time when the client is checking the course at his end.
These are the times when we face majority of our issues. Since we develop our courses using Flash 7 or 6 we put a flash player detection code. The client to check the functioning of this code removes the flash player from his machine and then reinstalls it again thru macromedia.com. Thats when all our problem starts. The client gets back to us with the security popup issue. Now in an organization where we are serving so many clients and so many users at their end we cannot expect to educate each and every one of them on the security issue. Also what about the courses which we have developed in older version of flash.
There has to be some way out where whatever courses we are sending to the client gets added to the local to trusted sandbox or trusted sites in an automated way. As in, rather than we giving the steps to all our client/s we would prefer giving them some them installer which can automatically add our courses to the local trusted sandbox.
Let me inform you that all the options listed the macromedia_security_features. I have tried them and they have all successfully FAILED
mms.cfg (i dont know how it works)
We want some step by step documentation or example files which can help us resolve these issues once and for all......
At present everything given in the security features document is more or less in greek or latin to me... It says and it says a lot but it does not actually say what it should say to solve the problem... I hope u understand.
Please throw some usefull light on this issue.

Flash Player Settings Pop Up Window
I just found the "Flash Player Settings" on a live SWF file. A little pop up window that appears when you right click on an online SWF file.
Can someone tell me what this function is for?

Browser Detection?
There seem to be controls for allowing someone to access functions on the user's computer. Storage space, microphone, camera. Is that correct?
The online documentation is a little vague on why it's there and what it can actually do. Either that, or I'm not advanced enough in Flash to understand what they are describing. (probably the latter)
But my client discovered it in a small slide show I added to their site. I had never seen it before, but I work primarily on a Mac and the usual alternative to "right clicking" (control-click) doesn't produce the little pop-up window. This seems to be a PC only thing.
I don't think they had ever seen this function before either because it alarmed them, and they want to know if I can turn it off.
Is that possible? If so, how? Perhaps when it's being published?
If not, is there anything I can say to assure them that it's harmless - if it is, indeed harmless.
The slide show was created using Flash 8, and published to detect Flash Player 7, with a "Flash Only" HTML template.

Frustrated With Flash 8 Publish Settings
Please Help... everytime I publish my .fla file I experience two problems: I get only the .swf file with no .html file associated with it when I have Version: Flash Player 8 in the Flash tab of the Publish Settings window eventough the Flash and HTML are both checked in the Format tab, plus my application freezes after I click the Publish button. This situation does not happen when I change the Version: Flash Player 7, and I get .both the .swf and .html files.
I tried to unistall the application and reinstall it back hoping to solve the problem. Unsuccessfully. I couldn't uninstalled completely I guess because it did not ask me for the serial number. I'm definitely missing something!! Thank you.
Flash 8 Text And Font Settings
With regard to setting up the properties for text and fonts in flash, would you recommend using device fonts, anti-alias for readability, or a different option?
Also, I ran into a weird discrepancy in Flash 8 on a MAC and PC:
On a MAC, I selected Static Text, Helvetica and the default 'Anti-alias for readability'. When I published and uploaded to my site, the text didn't appear at all! So I switched to 'Use device fonts' and it worked. In contrast, on a PC, 'Anti-alias for readability' works fine and 'Use device fonts' gives me the same result as 'Anti-alias for readability' on a MAC!
If anyone can explain or perhaps suggest a different method, it would be most appreciated.

Publish Settings; Flash Alignment
I am finally ready to publish my web site, (770x650 px) and would like it to come up centered on the screen rather than aligned with the left edge. I go to publish settings and select "center" under flash alignment, and "default" under html alignment. The html alignment seems to make a difference to the location on the screen (top, bottom, right, or left), but it has no selection for center. How can I accomplish this?

Flash Player Storage Settings
There is the Storage Settings in Flash Player when you right-click on flash
player and select "settings" menu. This storage setting also displays
currently storaged data by the currently viewed site... it is almost always
0kb, and when it isn't 0 its 2kb or some other small value.
What and when does Flash Player storages? Can this be controled by user?
Where can I find more information about this?

Problems With Flash 8 Security Settings
Hello, I am developing an aplication in Flash, and I need to access a server in my LOCALHOST. The SWF shows a Dialog Box about the security setings issue, but only four options of settings are given to me (Camera, Microfone and 2 others) but NOT the Security Settings as show int Macromedia documentation.
What is wrong?

Modify Flash Configuration Or Settings
Hi everybody at the Forum. Can anyone help me or teach me How to modify the way Flash name files during the Export Movie (png sequence) process? I mean, If I export an images sequence, Flash name them myFile0001.png, myFile002.png... etcetera. But I need to name them myFile01.png, myFile02.png....etc.
Where can i modify this configurations or settings. Thank everibody for any advice and sorry my English.
