Good Book Of Techniques?
Hi there,
As a newbie, I already moved forward the stage of the simple flash dev. and I started on doing some scripting. Moreover, I did some scripting and I believe I have a clear understanding of its behavior. Now, I want to get into a more serious scripting, I went to the bookstore and I found 239847289374 manuals about scripting.
Do you know which book would be a good "must to have" as for flash scripting techniques?
Of course I can browse this great site and find plenty of examples, but I like to build things by myself, sometimes you spend more time trying to guess what others do instead of doing it by yourself, don't you think?

Hi all,
OK, I am fairly standard at Flash, you know, not super hot but can hold my own (and earn a few $) I want to raise my game now.. and this is the trick. How? Night School? go the whole hog and go to college? ... or online? I would like to think that the online way could do it for me (and save me some money)

I Need A Good Book
I'm was wondering if anyone can give me a recommendation for a good reference book for Action Script 2.0. I would also like one for AS3 as well. So I guess I would like 2 books... LOL!!

Good AS3 Book?
Can anyone suggest a good all around book about AS3.0?
I'm semi-advanced in AS2.0, and I want to make a transition to 3.0, but don't want to spend the whole time in front of a monitor reading the AS3.0 help file which is quite good, but I think that AS2.0's help file was more 'idiot friendly'. I don't code games, or plan to write any big Flash/AIR applications ( Im a webdesigner mostly), so OOP isn't that crucial, although some OOP examples won't hurt.
And please, no books on making a ball bounce with manual tweening, I want mainly code examples.

Who Can Recommend A Good Book?
Thanks for stopping in, I need a book on Flash MX.
What I do:
I am not new at this. I am more of a developper than a designer. I am fluent with OOP (and event-driven OOP), I understand all of the features of Flash 5. I am able to get around in the MX development environment.
What I want:
Someting that details the new features of Flash MX (components, listeners...). And if possible, something that also details the OOP approach to ActionScript.
What I don't want:
Not really interested in the drawing features... and a lot less in the "environment" (window docking, etc...).
Hopefully, some of you guys have already waded through most of the available books out there, and could lead me in the right direction.

Can You Suggest A Good Book?

I am really getting into actionscript now and eager to learn more. Having looked at some of the fla's on FK, I am still miles from being at the stage I'd like to be.

Looking For A Good Starter Book
I am an absolute newbie when it comes to flash. I am getting ready to buy flash mx and was wondering what books people recommended. I have done a little research and it looks like I may either get the Flash MX Bible, or Foundation Macromedia Flash MX. If anyone else has a recommendation please say so. Know Of A Good Book For Flash MX AS?
I have just installed a demo copy of Flash MX. Looks like they have expanded greatly on the Actionscript. I haven't used Flash for about 6 months now but this new version has inspired me to learn more.
Any suggestions for good books covering advanced actionscript would be appreciated. I would specifically like it to cover the new extended object functionality.

Good Flash Book?
Hello all! I BADLY want to learn flash MX, I got the software and all, just need to know a good book to buy for begginers that will show me ever nook and cranny of Flash MX. There are so many its overwhelming and I just can't choose so plz put in your input on a good book for me the n00b! Also I would hope that (this book) would have some good tutorials to show me some neet tricks and some intermediate and maybe advanced information in there as well. I want it all I know.

Good Actionscripting Book?
Is there any good flash books that focus primarily on actionscripting? I know all the basics of flash such as motion tweens, shape tweens, buttons, etc.. Is there any books that go more in depth with actionscript? I have learned a lot of cool actionscipt in the last few days, and i would like to learn more. Settle Down With A Good Book....
ok i just got Studio MX 2004 with flash pro yesterday
and i would call myself an intermediate flash user with a decent grasp of ActionScript. ive been using flash since version 2 i believe but it was until MX that i honestly really got into it.
but nows the time to hit 2.0 and flash pro...
so what im needing to know here is what book should i get? i love the forums and enjoy reading them but i am someone who needs some good reference material. ive looked at most of the books on amazon, but i'm not sure what to get here.

I'm looking for a decent book about Flash that will help me with both Actionscripting, and Flash in general (such as movieclips and how I can use them to my full potential). I am currently using Flash 8, and have a fair amount of knowledge about it already, but am very weak in the areas of actionscripting and advanced animation (I am just know figuring out functions and variables). Good Flash Book
Okay I have been using flash for about a year now and am ready to move up to the next level. The problem is I have a hard time with action scripting, I can usually make it do what I want it to but it takes a long time and I almost pull my hair out in the process. So my question is, are there any good action scripting books out there. I recently upgraded to CS3 and after animating for 4 years I really want to learn how to program in flash. I thought I might aswell learn AS 3.0 since it's the newest and probably the most powerfull one. I knew some AS 2.0 but not all too much. So I'm looking for a good book, which starts with the basics.
