ok, i am doing my friends website, and i am tryint o link up the graphics in the diff frames so its like a semi border but it just isnt working. so i want to make a flash site for him, and i know how to do everything i need exept one thing. you know how u can make an embeded frame in an html window, well i want to do the same in the flash file. so it wil be a flash page, with an embeded html page that loads the html files when u click the menu buttons. and what commands would i put to the buttons to load the pages into the embeded frame?? some one please help, thank you.

HTML Site Map Linking To Pages In Flash Site
Hey all,
There's a button in our flash template that is for a site map. To get better indexing results, we decided to have that button link to an html site map on our website, and then have the html links go back to the flash site. Is that plausible? How would one go about doing something like that, if it IS possible? If someone could give me a hand, that'd be great!

[CS3] HTML Pages Displayed In A Flash Site?
Hi guys. I'm sorta new, but sorta not. Years ago when I was first starting in Flash/Animation, our instructor gave us a side-lab assignment of picking out a tutorial on Flashkit and working along with it. Finished the course, and without the software at home I didn't really have much chance to practice and stick with it.
As I've recently managed to get Flash; I'm trying to de-rust what I've learned, so I'm back at Flashkit!
I'm trying to create my own website. What I want to do is use a flash design(Header, Navigation & Footer), and have a content window w/scroll bar, which will display HTML pages. Is this possible? (I tried doing a tutorial search to see if this is possible or not, but couldn't find anything.)

.html Pages Won't Load On Flash Site From Nav.
My homepage is a .html page which has a navigation with 4 options that open up .swf files. Within 2 of those .swf files are links to open multiple .html pages in a new browser window. These secondary .html pages will not open even though they previewed fine in Flash after being published. All these files are located within the local root folder. This is an example of the script I used:

Client Wants HTML Version Of A Flash Web Site Pages.
Ok I design totally in Flash as I find it's just like DTP I can grab the images/text etc... move them where I want them and so on and so forth. Then publish it within a HTML page, job done.
I told the client this when I got the job. The site goes live (it's not a "flashy" site (nothing moving around etc..) Then he says a friend cannot see the site well he need flash on his PC I say, well they don't allow it at there business and the client say other poeple I may deal with may not have it at there businesses either.
So the question is can I convert/decompile) my flash content within a SWF or fla file to a pure HTML page???

Does anybody know how to get Flash to load HTML pages into a seperate HTML page?
I'm currently running an animation within a webpage, and my client would like to be able to have some captions in HTML on the page that go with specific parts of the animation.

Fading Pages In And Out In A Flash Site
Hi, I’m about to start making my first flash site for a university project. Before I’ve started I’m building "mini" test sites to see what problems I might come across.
My idea is that I want the page to fade out whenever the user clicks on a button to a new page and then for the new page to fade in along with animations building the page. I've tried doing this in a test site I made but it didn't work. I use links to jump from one page to another so when the user clicks on the button the page immediately jumps to the next page without fading out or the new page fading in.
Can someone help me to do this? Or show me a tutorial or fla of something similar to this? Thanks.
Transitioning Between Pages On Flash Web Site
Hey,
I am currently building a flash website with 6 different sections. When I open each page a box expands down when the page opens. This box contains the content for the page.
But when I go to another page I want the box that was on the previous page to retract back up. Currently it just disappears when I got the next frame.
How can I do this? Is it just simply having to animate it or is there actionscript I can use?

Linking Pages For A Flash Site
I am very new to flash but have been using dream weaver for a while. I assumed they would be almost the same or at the least have a lot of the same basic web functions being they are from the same company but I have found that sadly such is not the case.
In dreamweaver when you have turned text or image into a button you are given the ability to simply navigate to the folder where the other web pages are stored. those locations are copied into your web server when you upload. You also have the ability to test the site and make sure that when you click on a button you are taken to where you intend the link to go.
In flash however I have not been able to find such a function so that when I make an image or text linkable I can navigate to the proper page. Is there a way to do this that I have not as yet found or is what I assume the case? That everything link wise must be done in action script?
I have found many examples of the OnReleace get Url code but when I try and plug that into my "linkable" and then test it, it does not work. When I type in the folder path like "c:folderfolderfilename" after the geturl it either does nothing or I get the inevitble action script error message.
This can not be this hard. Can someone help make any since of this at all?
How Link RSS Feeds To Pages In An All-Flash Site?
I have built a site entirely of Flash. The header and drop down menus are in the index.html/.swf "shell" and everything else is loaded in as .swfs in the area below.
I'm just getting my feet wet in RSS Feeds and can get them to work in my traditional, html-based sites. But I am having trouble envisioning how they would work in my all-Flash site.
If I change a .swf page and want subscribers to check out this update, how do I link so that both the new version of the page *and* the index.html/.swf "shell" both appear? (Workarounds totally bypassing direct solution would be OK, if necessary!)
I tried googling the 'net for a tutorial but kept getting hits on how to make RSS *readers* in Flash.
If you know of a tutorial or a page of tips and tricks, that would be great!

well, some of you will have seen my site, and as you will know if you have done, it's pretty bad. i'm redesigning it at the moment with some cool features (in my opion) which i will not go into, but I also want to make a site that is more compatible with 56K and - once i have a lot on the site - broadband users. the obvious place to start would be to load pages in separately, but i was too lazy first time round to implement such a system.
well, I am planning on doing this using frames and loading swfs in, but i am not really sure how... can anyone help?

Adding Pages To A Pre-made Flash Site Template
hi. I have decided to change my site. so I got a new template. it is all done in flash. all on one .fla file. it came with like five premade "pages" that change around on the site, so I customized all that stuff already. Now I want to create some extra pages and have the corresponding buttons added to the navigator.
I am having the most problems with adding the buttons. I thought it would be easiest to just copy the action script ffrom one of the pre-made buttons and then changing a few variables to fit the new page(s) that I have made. I can't figure it out though. I tried a few differrent things but it is not working for me.
here is the code that was already written for the "contact" button

I am building my first big site in Flash.
As I add more and more content and the 'pages' become more complex with subnavigations and forms, I wonder if my approach to building pages - which is to create a scene for each page - is flawed.
So I'd like to ask the experts:
when you build a site do you make a new scene for each page or do you link from swf file to swf file?

Using Flash In Html Pages
In one of my application I was required to use flash in my website. The flash movie has hyperlinks in it which on clicking should be visible in my web page. I am using a frames page. I want to embed my flash movie in one frame and want the hyperlink to open in other frame within the SAME PAGE. i am not able to do the same thing. Flash Between HTML Or PHP Pages
I would like to have a Flash movie play between HTML pages. So the user would be on an HTML/PHP page, click a link to go to another HTML/PHP page, and they would see the short Flash animation, and then they would go to the page they had clicked the link for. I was hoping there was a way to do this where the same animation could be reused between other pages with a variable or URL for which page to redirect to.
Fortunately I'm working with someone whose Flash programming is better than my sorry skills, but I would like to know how (if?) this could be done before I propose it.
Some vague questions I have, can you have a Flash animation play and upon completion open a webpage in the same window? Can you send the variable or URL of which page to open as a Get or Post?

I want to open html pages (not websites) within a Flash interface . There will be items on each page that are for sale via PayPal.

i'm designing a site that has flash pages and html pages... all of the pages (even the flash pages) have a html sub nav below the flash content... i was wondering if there is any way to have a link inside a flash movie load an html page into the current browser window (not into the area of the swf)...
so that the links on the flash pages don't have to open a separate browser window...
like loading into _self (if _self meant the actual html page not the swf area)...
does that make sense? and if it does... can it be done?

Flash Navigation & Html Pages
Hi all,
I am working on a site that has a flash swf as the navigation and the rest of the content is html. The nav has drop down states that i would like to keep open when navigating to the different pages. The problem i am running into is the page reloading each time and the swf starting over each time. i am wondering if there is a workaround other than using iframes to control the content. Autogenerate HTML Pages In Flash

I'm building a webshop and I have lots of products. If I mouseclick on an image of a product, I want a new browser window opened with fixed size containing a larger image and more details about the product.
I'm really not sure wher to start doing this. Does flash have some tools for this, or do i have to send info to a PHP page to make this work?
I would prefer to have it all done in Flash, but if that is not possible i have to do it in another way.

I'm using that with in my flash video player to load the next page, but i want it to load the url videos1.html within the same window/tab. But it opens a new tab in firefox, and who cares what it does in IE.

Flash Image And Html Pages
I do have an SWF sequence of images in the main html page. In the second page I do have sections. Each section has a title of an image of the SWF file. The role of this section is to describe the image.
I trying to whenever I click on each image of the SWF in the main page, I should be directed to its description in the second page, meaning, that the second page should be loaded and its scroll down bar should go down and stop where the specific section (describing the image I’ve just clicked on) starts.

Flash Search For HTML Pages
Does anyone know of a good tutorial where I can use a flash form (input box and search btn) to search all the HTML pages of a certain website? There is one on Kirupa for using the Atomz search, but the free one uses ads-- don't want that.
I'm trying to use a javascript search that uses an HTML form, but I don't want to use the HTML form, I want a FLash form b/c the search form is in the flash banner. I don't know how to properly send variables to the javascript function from Flash so it knows which words to search for.
If there is even a PHP search that works with FLash, that would be great. I have searched the internet for a good while. Now I come to you. Maybe I can save myself some time if someone here can help a brother out .

HTML Pages With Flash Menu
Hello everyone... i need some help
I am currently working on a html site with a flash menu on top.
I used 2 frames, the top frame with the flash menu, and the second one is the content. the buttons from flash tells the second frame what external html file to load. second frame has it's own scroll bar, so the flash menu always stays on the stage while i scroll the second frame.
Everything works fine except i want a single scroll bar for the entire site...

Once Again About Flash Navigation On HTML Pages
Hi, guys.
Probably we all face this problem at some point in our lives. I'm trying to create a site with HTML pages and Flash based navigation, which basically means that the site content itself is standard in HTML/CSS format, but the main menu bar with the buttons and all is an SWF file. Needless to say, each lit-up button on the menu bar has to dim out on release and take to the corresponding page, e.g. clicking the 'Contact Us' button would cause it to dim out (as if unavailable) and open the 'Contact Us' page. Clicking a different button afterwards, would re-light the previous button and dim-out the newly clicked button and take to the page that corresponds to the newly clicked button, etc, you get the idea. There are 4 buttons for 4 pages.
Anyway, so far I've tried two methods which have failed:
Method A.
I exported four duplicate SWFs from the same FLA, with the only difference being the one unique button dimmed out and the other three lit up (a total of 4 combinations). Then, I put a different SWF on each page. This, the 'Contact Us' page would have the copy of the SWF with the 'Contact Us' button already dimmed out; the 'Home' page would have the one with the 'Home' button dimmed out, and so on. The obvious problem with this approach is that an SWF needs to load over again every time the page changes, which results in a brief, but, nonetheless, annoying enough blink. I hoped to combat this latency issue by loading all bitmap elements in the flash files externally, as opposed importing them to the library. I assumed that since all SWF copies accessed the exact same bitmaps from the exact same location, they would be cached in the memory somehow and not need to be loaded every time, so there'd be no latency. Then again, I was two days younger. This method failed. As Eric Bogosian's character said in the movie Under Siege 2, "Assumption is the mother of all"… (you-know-what-ups).
Method B.
At a couple of other message boards, I was suggested another technique, which would require only one single SWF. A guy gave me a tiny peace of Java Script that would use a variable to inform flash about which page is called so it would know which button in the menu bar to dim out. Although this technique rid me of the necessity to use multiple SWFs, it didn't fix the nasty blinking problem AT ALL!!!
Method C.
I was also advised to "put info in a div and generate server requests to bring the appropriate info up". "You need to use ASP or PHP or some other server language" he said. Well, ASP is absolutely out for me, so I won't even consider it. As for PHP, unless there exits a very simple and straight-forward tutorial with source files, which I could very easily figure out, modify, and implement for my needs, I can't get into it because since I don't know PHP, it takes me a really long time to learn how to do a simple thing with it, which is something I can't afford right now with my deadline and all.
I'm basically down to
Method D.
I basically want to put the page contents into an iFrame window. Even all drawbacks of using iFrames considered, I still thing this is the optimal way for me. So here's where I currently am on this:

I created a flash intro and a main navigation page for a client. Another company she hired produced all of the sub pages in an .asp format. I used the getUrl to call up the subpages from the main menu buttons in flash. The .asp pages are accessed, but they are opening in individual browsers.
How do I get these pages to load in the same browser that the Flash doc loads in?

I am trying to integrate few html/asp page within my flash movie, what I want to do is that when in my flash movie user clicks on a button, instead of completely getting out of the flash movie and loading the html/asp page that particular html/asp page is loaded within a frame inside that flash movie.
