Suggestions For Realistic Heart Beat Effect
I'm trying (without success) to create the effect of a heart monitor machine using a/s (think of the electronic machine with black background and green line that peaks with each beat of the heart) but not having much success ... mainly as I'm trying to use the drawing API and don't have much experience with it. I'm using a/s rather than using mcs as I wanted the beats to fluctuate a little ... maybe even with a bit of sudden peaks and flat-lining in there!
Anyone got an suggestions on how I might be able to go about this?

Guide To Build Snow Effect In Flash
My name is Steven and i'm new in learning flash, recently i saw a flash posted "http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Effects/Mouse_Trailers/Snow_Mou-Drew_Pan-7470/index.php" which have the effect of snow flakes coming out of the mouse cursor, however the action script maybe too hard for me to understand and i am unable to see truly how the flash was build.

I wish to implement the technique into my flash and hope that anyone can give me some step by step guide in how to build that effect in flash.

I'm currently using flash mx 2004 to build my flash, your help on this is greatly appreciated. Thx.

Fill Effect
if you open up the file and look at the library - there should be a movie clip which i started which has a fill effect... except i don't think i'm doing it right. If there are any other suggestions as to how i can incorporate a fill effect for my heart i would be very greatful.

Platformer At Heart
Heh, hola all.. I'm kinda learning some actionscript. And having taken a break from flash, to learn some C++ I'm getting better at AS(yay). I was thinking about making a Mario-like clone in flash, and was wondering if anyone had some pointers to.. Doing Heart Meter
Hi, can someone teach me how i can make the heart meter (those kind you find in hospital, normally in movies where the patient is in critical condition and the meter goes "deeeeeeeeeee").

Heart Flash Movie
ive got this idea for a valentines day theme movie. what i want to do is have the 1st heart have "I" on it. have that zoom in to the left side of the screen. The 2nd heart has "Love" & want that to zoom in to the center of the screen. The 3rd heart has "You" & want that to zoom in to the right side of the screen.
ive created the effects in 3 seperate movies but i want all 3 layers in one movie. for example; when the 1st heart has finished the zoomed motion, i want it to stay on the screen. Then have the 2nd heart animation & have the 2nd heart to stay on the screen. Then follow that w/the 3rd heart animation & have that stay on the screen as well, so that all 3 hearts are on the screen at one time.
ive created a 2nd layer in the 1st movie but the original heart is in the 2nd layer & cant get it off the screen. & if i clear that heart of the 2nd layer, that would in turn remove it from the 1st layer wouldnt it?
i wish i could upload the movies so everyone can see what im talkin bout & get a better idea of what im tryin to do. any help will be greatly appreciatd. thanx.

Heart Monitor Simulation
Hi,
Fist let me apologize if this is the wrong area for this type of question. I am looking for a heart monitor movie that I can dynamically change based on user activity (via ActionScript). To do this, I need the rhythm to move at a constant rate, but the wave form needs to change.

I am sure flash can do this (I am using Flash 5) but I have not been able to see any examples to get a start from! Has anyone done this or even an oscilliscope simulator?

I have done a search of this site, but only turned up the cardiotraining sample. though it is well done, it does not satisfy my needs. Has anyone done anything similar?

How can I implement a tween simulting the heart beating.

Fill Changes Through Scripting (the Fill Being A Jpeg)
i'm looking for a way to control the fill of an elipse (an external jpeg), through scripting, loading in another via a selection menu.

How Do I Fill Another Textbox As I Fill The First One

what I need is, that as a user is filling in his name in the text box for the name field, the input textfield for the email id starts getting filled simultaneously...

for e.g. the user starts typing in
John Doe
the email field should become
John.Doe@domain.com

but it should go like... when the user types "J"
the email field becomes "J@domain.com"

and when he hits the space bar it becomes a dot in the email field

My objective...

I wish to create a banner displaying upcoming gigs for my band on which I will put up on our bands myspace.

Basically, I want 2 bits of information in text form, fading in and out on my banner. The Date and Location. But I want the information to change each time the text fades out so once it fades back in, the text displayed will be different... Let me try and explain this so a Mule can understand:

TEXT IS FADED (INVISIBLE, CANT BE SEEN)
Text is loaded from an external source, with the information:
Date: 31st Feb Location: Superdome, Kansas City
THIS TEXT FADES IN AND IS DISPLAYED FOR A WHILE THEN FADES OUT
Then new Text is loaded and the process is repeated.

Motion Guide Help
Well I have just begun to understand animation but have a quick question. Is it possible to create a motion guide from another program, fireworks, freehand, and than use it in flash.

I have tried drawing a spiral in Freehand, copying it, and than pasting it into the motion guide layer in flash, but the object does not seem to follow that path. If I draw the path in Flash it works fine. Any ideas, thanks for the help.

Please Help Guide Me In The Right Direction....
my site is http://www.fiveam.com. It is my band's website that I built throughout the past six months. I am self taught and feel very obsessed about developing my newly acquired basic flash skills.

To take my site to the next level, I'd like to:

Be able to allow my band (from their own computers online) to add content, change/update our show dates, etc.

In my mind I see another band-only accessible website with input fields to update data, that when submitted would go right into my flash 5 page.

Another thing I'd love to learn how to do is have shows (gigs) that have already happened be moved to an archive list of shows after the date has past.

I know this sounds like a lot, but if you can get me started in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Also, if there's a program besides flash, that you can buy that integrates with flash to allow me to do this, let me know.

p.s. also, on my scrolling text box, how would I set up actionscript so that when you press and hold on the up or down arrows, the text would move slowly. right now, if you look at my scrolling text boxes, you have to click on them and then they move down a little, but in a jerky manner.
