Help Please?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the thread and also a beginner in Actionscripting. I've had some basic classes but it never seem to have sunk in.

I'm trying to make this interface work that's being really difficult.

I have 1 Scene, 1 main timeline...that has 1 keyframe in it. In that keyframe is a movie...

In that movie (let's call this movie: main_movie) there's about 4 movies inside:

Left Base
Right Base
Left Sub
Right Sub
Main Base

The idea is...that when you click on Left Base...it will open up Left Sub (like a submenu)...I got that to work...but now...when the Left Sub opens up, there is a button in the MOVIE of LEFT SUB that I'm tryin to get (onPress), it will play a frame in the main_movie timeline. I can't seem to get it to work...

I've tried various things...and I don't really know where to start. Basically, it's calling a frame that's the parent...or something...and I'm just stuck...help? Sorry if my explanation is really screwed up--I'll try to explain it better if no one seems to understand my train of thought. Thank you in advance for the help!
