Help About Exporting Fixed Values To Swf Files
Hi,
Can someone please explain me how can i export fixed numbers in swf file.Flash specifications 6.0 tell that 7.5 will be exported as
00 80 07 00
but when i try to export it the value is different .That is
96 09 00 06 00 00 1e 40 00 00 00 00
here 96 is push tag id 09 is tag length but what about other dump.
Please explain.

Randomising Fixed Values
Hi all,
I wish to randomise 3 values and they cannot appear more than 1 time. For eg, I have 178, 248 and 320.
I want to randomise them everytime I traced. I can do it with 0,1,2 but I cant do it for values I set.

Random _x Movement With Fixed Values
I followed some of the tutorials about random movement, but I couldn't find where I was looking for! I'm looking for a random movement only on the _x axis with fixed values. I will explain myself a little better. I have 10 pictures (120 x 120 pxl) with above that a transparant mask (120 x 120 pxl) I want the mask to move randomely over the pictures but so that the mask completely cover a pictures so the random movements should be a all cases a plural from 120, wich means (120, 240, 360, 480 etc)

Exporting ListBox Values To Flash
I have a contact form made in flash. It consists of a bunch of text boxes and a list box.
When I pass the variables to PHP, everything except the values of the listbox show up.
Is there a trick to having this work? How does it work in the case of a multiple selection listbox?

Exporting FLV Files?
I cannot seem to export any FLV files using Quicktime or any other program, I have installed FLV exporter and I am currently using the trial version of Flash MX pro 2004. The problem is, there is no option for exporting any files in the drop down menu in quicktime. I have downloaded the updates for Quicktime but still there's no option.
Is there any other way of exporting FLV files? Or at least inserting movies into the Media playback boxes in Flash?

Help Exporting Txt Files
I want to make a news header to my flash site..
I'd like to enter some text in a textbox on the site and upload that text to a txt file. Then I'd use dynamic text to view that txt as a header on my site..
How can I edit a txt file through flash? Not very comfortable with uploading the txt file every time..
I've seen some tutorial about that but it involved pearl scripts and I'm afraid that my free webhost doesn't support pearl.. At least it didn't work one bit..

Exporting .mov Files
hello, im desperately trying to play an exported flash file into .mov in imovie, but it pixels!!! how can i avoid this?? When i play the file in quicktime it shows fine, but when i play it in imovie or finalcut, the quality is really bad. Vector based text gets pixeled. Does anyone know how to fix this??

Importing And Exporting Files
First of all can download a soundloop from this site and use it in Swish then can I import that word animation in Flash 5 . After I am finnish fine tuning can I export that file to dreamweaver. Also would still be able to access animation that I created in Swish that I have exported to dreamweaver after the 15 day trail period is up . (am i making any sense)

Opening F4 Files In F5 And Exporting Them

i just got F5, and i want to go on with a F4 project i'm working on. opening goes ok.
but when i export, all i see is black and hear the background-sound.
even the movie size isn't right!

Exporting Files From Flash
Hey.. I'm not too familiar with flash, but I got this stock icons a while ago. They are in a .FLA format but I want to import them to Illustrator so I can edit them a little... I tried exporting the png file directly from flash, I also tried copying and pasting the content and I keep loosing a lot of quality. Is there any way to get those files in .AI?

Exporting FLV Files - Situation
Hey all. I'll get right to what I'm trying to do in Flash CS3 right now, and what roadblocks I'm encountering. Basically, I'm importing/embedding MPEG video files into Flash and saving them as SWF video files, ultimately to be included in a program created in Adobe Captivate. The SWF videos also include 2 buttons using actionscript (play/pause, and stop). When I play these videos on their own, they seem fine enough. When playing them in a published Captivate file, however, they play at least twice the speed of the original file. After telling a contact about it, he suggested that since Captivate's frame rate is 30 frames per second by default, that I should take the MPEG videos and convert them into FLV files.
So my two questions (both which may be incredibly easy to answer) are:
1) how would I convert an MPEG file already in my library to an FLV file
and
2) if I changed the frame rate of the video to 30 seconds in Flash (when importing to the library at the beginning), would that match the frame rate in Captivate, thus playing at the same speed?

Exporting/Importing .mov Files
Hey,
I'm trying to Export to an .mov file from flash 8, so that I can Import it and "progressively download it from a web server" to make the file play better (and the same) on each computer. When I play it straight from the .swf file, the sound is completely off depending on the computer i play it on.
My issue is that when I Publish and create an .mov file, then try to Import that same file back into flash...nothing works. Just a blank screen. What could this be caused by? I can view the .mov file perfectly when I open it (though the timing is still off, but that's a whole other frame rate problem that I have to deal with).
If anyone could lend some advice, I'd appreciate it.

Exporting Flash Mx Files
I recently upgraded from Flash 5 to mx.
At first, when exporting files to create .swf and projector files everything was just fine. Now for some reason the following happens when exporting files:
1. No scrollbar apears on scrollable texts.
2. Projector files are created in Flash 5 version, even though I export in Flash 6 version.
3. Foreign language fonts, that is to say á,é,í,ó,ú and ñ etc etc are replaced by some weird symbols which make the text illegible.

Help Exporting Flash To Exe, With *.as Files
Hey everyone. I was hoping someone could help me out with a problem. I need to export a flash document to a standalone exe file - which is not hard, but i also need to be able to include external *.as files as part of the exe.
Right now i can export to an exe, but in order for it to work, i need to also have the *.as files in the same directory. I"m hoping to somehow include the *.as files in the same standalone exe - one file, full project

Exporting Full Screen .exe Files
Hi,
I need to export a full screen flash movie to an .exe file so that it can be viewed using autorun from a c.d. i know how to export it as a windows projector file which will realise this however, I don't know how to export it so that it stretches to full screen in all resolutions. Its currently being developed in 800x600. Is this advisable?

Trouble Exporting .eps Files Succesfully
I am using Illustrator CS2 and am trying to export a simple graphic made up of about 8 objects grouped together to Flash MX. When I try to import to library I get this error message: The EPS file was not completely understood. Part or all of the file could be missing.

Sound Files-exporting For Actionscript
hey, i got this tutorial for making a simple music playing button. And the best thing was, it would export the chosen track for actioningscripting, via linkage. however i havent used flash for a while and when i do the samething again i can't get the music file to compress in flash. Passing Values To SWF Files
Hi all,
I have looked into tutorial that shows passing by parameters and it works fine until, the values passed is not ordinary string.
For example flash_file.swf?tit=%DF which url encoded for ß. In the flash file when I called _root.tit it shows empty string.
If I can get the string "%DF" I can use
System.useCodePage = true; string titEn = unescape(tit)
But I still not able to get that string.
Any ideas?

Exporting SWFs With External Class Files
Okay, I am not sure how to explain this but I am having a rather annoying problem with my Flash CS3 on the Mac.
I am still working in AS2 and many of my projects make use of external class files. Now I was working on a project and I made a change in the class, saved and then did an export to view the change. To my surprise the change did not appear to take effect so I added a trace statement and the same thing. The trace did not occur. I ended up closing Flash, opening it again and re-exporting and the changes showed up. It seemed like the FLA was not linked with the class for a moment?
I know it sounds odd, but has anyone else had problems like this when working with external class files in CS3?

How To Export Textbox Values To Php Files
Hello Everyone
I'm brand new to actionscript and to this forum. Did visit some of the forum pages, but need to understand from a beginner's perspective.
What I'm trying to do is to send textbox variables to a php file.
So far what I have done:
I've created a textbox and set the textbox as an 'Input Text'.
Then I gave the var the name of fName_var, and gave the Instance Name the name of fName_txt. I'm not sure which of the two I need to use.
Then in the created button:

Without understanding how the values are being passed, I would like to know what steps I am missing (or what I am doing wrong).

Simple Variable Values Passed Between .swf Files
I need to send three simple variable values from a mother movie to subsequent externally-loaded .swf files. I've been using loadMovieNum() to load the external .swf files to both replace the mother movie and also to sit on top of it and can't get the variable values to pass from one to the other. I don't need to load them from an external file, or do anything fancy. I just need the loaded movie to grab values from the mother movie that spawned it.

Good Printing Quality With Exporting Files From Flash To Freehand?
Hiya there.
I have a problem with exporting images from Flash MX to Freehand 10. So in short - I just need a way to export things from Flash to Freehand in a way that if i print the document in Freehand the images i've exported from Flash would be in _high_ proper printing resolution and look good?
Any tips and hints to make this work proper...im too lazy to all the images AGAIN in freehand to have a good quality printing.

Function Populated By Node Values Returning Undefined Values
I have been working on some code which extracts the information from an xml document, styles it with css and then loads the various node values into a text field and arrays. The user click on a link in the text field which calls myFunction using asfunction and that in turn should enter the array values relating to that link into text fields.
Everything in general seems to work OK except the value that is returned to the two text fields on pressing the link in the CCTextField "which in turn calls myFunction" returns undefined for those values of the arrays. I check the agency[2] value in the function that populates the arrays and the value is returned as it shoiuld be so it appears there must be something amiss with myFunction, or at least it would seem so.
Any takers as to what this problem might be?

[MX] Weirdness With Values Used By Array Populated Clip Values.
Hi,
I have used invisible buttons on top of some text, as part of a volume control interface.
The text buttons are set out as 0 – 25 – 50- 75 -100 referring to the % that a music tracks volume will change to once a button is pressed – so far so good.
Now to give values to the text buttons in order for them to make the text clip that they are on top of go to & stop & the right frame I have used arrays to give a reference the location of the text clip:
numbs_array = [_root.volHold_mc.vol0, _root.volHold_mc.vol25, _root.volHold_mc.vol50, _root.volHold_mc.vol75, _root.volHold_mc.vol100];
I then reference that in a home made “release” function as “this.monica.gotoAndStop(2);” “monica” being the reference to the address of the clip.
It all works fine except the code seems to make the movie play clips in an order that they have not been designated in the array – Like a button on top of the “25”% value will play the animation for the “75”% clip?
The whole problem is probably much better seen through the movie – the problem section of which i have attached below.

Exporting Flash-4 Files To Flash-5
Hi...
Its me again....
Ok.. How do I export flash-4 files to flash-5.
Actually I had a file in flash-4. But the functions like "loadedK, percentageK etc.." doesn't work with flash-4.
I tried opening the same file in flash-5, it does open, but whenever I try to insert the loadedK or percentageK functions, it says you need to export the file in flash-5.
How do I do that ??

Database Values To Array Values
Hi all,
I've created a movie which uses a number of arrays to construct the elements of a flash-based gallery.
What I need is a practical method of getting values from a database into an array via an ASP page.
The plan was to load the variables into these arrays using the an asp page and a loadvars object to create a string (basically the array values in quotes separated by commas) which was then to be inserted into the parameters for the creation of the array. Needless to say this hasn't worked- the create array object seems to interpret the whole string as the first value in the array, i can't find a way of populating the array from just a single asp page.
I've given up with this method and really need a few pointers.

Writing Values To A Text File And Reading Values From The Same File
Hi, I want to create a page counter in Flash and I was wondering how to write a value (the next number for the visitor) to the text file and read the current value from that file. In a simplified form I would just read the number currently in the file, add 1, and rewrite the number to the file. Eventually when I get that worked out I will adapt it to only add 1 for each different user session instead of each page hit, but I'll start with the easy stuff first.

Fixed That, Now Another
OK, I got PRev to work but another problem, there is actually audio playing along with text that pops up on each label, so if the voic over is at label 4 and the function hasnt been fired off yet when you hit next frame it will go to frame 1!! how do I fix this??

i just fixed it...and im going to post how to help end all php questions. username is an input field, as is password. the php file returns either passok=1 or passok=0. then you check for _root.passok==1 or ==0.

Another member suggested using the transform palette and it showed a minor discrepancy..once I used that palette to adjust the sizing it woekd perfectly. I suppose this is the same as what you suggested. Thanks for your input. You guys rock !
