Flash :: Help Cant Get Html & Swf Onto My Site

HTML Site Map Linking To Pages In Flash Site
Hey all,

There's a button in our flash template that is for a site map. To get better indexing results, we decided to have that button link to an html site map on our website, and then have the html links go back to the flash site. Is that plausible? How would one go about doing something like that, if it IS possible? If someone could give me a hand, that'd be great!

Flash Site Versus HTML Site
My website is 100% Flash and my content is all Flash games.

I have read that having a Flash website is a disadvantage if you are trying to create a popular website and get a high Alexa ranking.

My Alexa rating is 13,000. But, I wonder if it could be higher with an html based site.

Do you think I should create my site in FrontPage or some html website builder?

I have Flash site that's inside HTML site. The problem is that the links inside flash don't work when i use site with the HTML site. (The links work randomly, the connect to wrong swf, but they work on the second clicking correctly)...

Uploading .SWF To HTML Site
I need your help. I just finished my movie for my site's entrance page and I tried to upload it two ways. 1 way it sayd there isnt enough memory that is as a .swf file I then saved the movie as a .html file to make that my opening page. It uploaded but when opened up nothing appears except the black screen on Explorer. Can someone help me figure this out so I can get my front page up and running good. How should I save it. Help Me Please

HTML In Flash Site?
know once I save my ste in FLASH (Flash MX) that I'll have a .swf file, and an html file in my folder. The way that I upload my files to the internet is by pulling up a folder in my browser(ftp://mysite.org) and from there I can drag my swf file and my .fla into it, hit F5 to update and my page is out there! BUT I also want to make a few change in the html code, (change how the title reads when you go to the site). How can I do this?????? I've also noticed that you cannot "view" my page source. What am I doing wrong?

Flash Over A HTML Site?
I built a site for a girl I've been seeing, and I wanted to have an animation fly across the top of it. I put the swf in a div layer and set the window to transparent.

Seems to work okay on a pc, but on a mac it comes through all messed up. The layer for the flash sits on top and whites out everything else.

Am I frustrated? Oh, a tad...

Flash Nav Bar In HTML Site?
I want to insert a flash nav bar with my animated logo and text effects as well as nav buttons into a web page that will not be a full flash site. How do I set this up. Do I have to use frames?? Can I just insert into a table?? Also how do I apply actions to the buttons to get the site to load below the navbar??

I also would like to know if I can have the nav bar load to a specific size based on the end user resolution settings. I want it to load to the full width of the screen based on resolution. Can flash do that?

I've made a Flash intro and when it is done I want it to go to a HTML site. Please don't tell me to embed the swf into my html. I don't know HTML. Can I use the swf file as my index and put a button at the end? What action script would I use? What is the best way to do this?

I have just been updating my cv site and on the first page i have some html script to load a random image from one of 12 choices when you click on them it launches my flash site i want to be able to launch it in a new window to fit the constraints of the site -850 by 600px but i don't know how i'm a bit clueless when it comes to html? Mp3 Player In Html Site
i am designing a flash mp3 player to go into a html site. i was wondering how i can keep the same song and stream going in the flash as it loads other pages in the site.

is there anyway to do this in either html or flash? the things i can think of is to have the mp3 player in a frame or a seperate popup window, both of these i would rather not use.

Buttons In Html Site
im simply making a banner for a html site and im having problems linking the buttons to open the other pages on the site, (home.html,media.html ect.) right now in the buttons i have on (release) { getURL (index.html) but it only brings up undefinded.html. iv put the entier url in there to (C:my documentssiteindex.html) and it still brings up undefind.html when i click on the button any help would be most apreciated.

Cant Get Html To Center Site

How To Add An Html Pop-up To A Flash Site...
i have made a site using flash and i have a link to a downloadable mp3 file, however because of the flash file, of course, you cannot rt click to "save as"...therefore i need to add a small pop up html window with a simple button to the site. can anyone tell me how to add the popup window as whenever i try i get a full sized window open up.for exmaple if i want to open a 300 by 200 pixel window how do i go about it??

Menu Bar To Be Used On An HTML Site.
Hi everyone:
I am creating a website in dreamweaver. I need to have one of the buttons have a drop down menu with 3 more links on it. I figured I might as well make the whole menu bar in flash and import it to my dreamweaver file. My question is this, how can I make the buttons go to my specific pages when the user clicks on them? Should I make each button a separate SWF? Or have all the five buttons (including the one that as the drop down) on one SWF? I found this tutorial online that seems pretty easy and user friendly:

Flash Site As HTML? Help
When I upload my flash site as a .swf file it appears very quickly in the browser window,

but when I upload it as a .html file it never finishes loading.

It just goes about halfway then stops.

What am I doing wrong?

I have created a simple navigation in flash for a primarily HTML web site. When I place it into my Dreamweaver site, the links do nothing. The flash runs. I am a beginner and obviously missing something. Is it a path issue? I do not want to place any of this on the server until it has been tested and approved. Only want to test on my computer. Using Flash To Navigate Through Html Site
I'm using a flash movie to navigate through a html site.
Everything works fine. I got buttons with an getURL and load a page in a frame called mainFrame:

on (press) {
getURL ("products.htm", "mainFrame");
}

But how can i make buttom that jumps to a specific place in the loaded page? What i mean is, that if 'product.htm' is a page with computers, scanners and software, how do i jump directly to software?

this doesn't seem to work:

getURL ("products.htm#software", "mainFrame");
}

Changing This HTML Site Into Flash

I do not want to necessarily make a Flash HTML site, but I would like to learn how to use the shopping cart type of code being used here in Flash, and am looking for some helpful info. from some of those with more Flash experience. How would you go about this?

Applying Sound Into A Non HTML Site
Hey. I'll try to make this as easy to understand as possbile. I have a non Flash website, and I want to add an interactive song selection type thing which allows my visitors to choose from five songs to listen to. Can you put something like that into a html site? Thats the first part of my question.

I'm wondering, can you do this in Flash only? If so, how? I've created my buttons and everything already, and I'm stuck. How do I get all the buttons to play a different song and put all the buttons onto the backround?

Re-doing A Botchy HTML Site In Flash 5/MX
I've been trying, haphazardly, to build a site for my photography, using javascript, the DOM, CSS, etc. Started in January. I'm running into problem after problem because of inconsistencies, browser incompatibilities, programmer (me) idiocy, etc.

Flash 5 is new to me, and I've already had more luck with it in a week and a half writing a little movie than I've had in months of trying to traverse the DOM for various browsers.

I want to build my site from Flash 5 now, restart, a single technology, and I'd like to know if the following is possible.

Can you simulate frames (i.e., HTML framesets and frames) with Flash? Also, I'll give a link (if it even opens on your computer...) and I'd like to know if I can get a 'nice and smooth' version of my HTML/CSS menu up in Flash.

I just want to know if it's possible to do basically what I'm doing right now with a single, unified Flash file.

Anything you have to offer is much appreciated

Fla In Lower Frame Within Html Site?
I have a multi paged framed site. Top frame is movie (navs & some anime) Bottom frames are all html. I would like to add a page, keeping the top frame intact (nav movie) and add a second fla in the bottom frame (slideshow) in only that one page.
Easy? Diff? Impossible? Just can't figure this one out.

Flash Navigation In Html Site
Hi there

I'm looking for pointers here...

I've built an html site and have created a flash navigation for it - the navigation has one main level of navigation and also one sublevel of navigation....like so

[faq] - subnav [f1] [f2]

the sub navs have titles but i can't be arsed typing them.

what i want to know is...

say I'm in the welcome.html page, the welcome button in on [lets say its red] and i click on the about button - i am taken to the about.html page but as the flash navigation is embedded in each html page how do i tell it to have the about button on [red] when in the about.html page instead of reverting back to the start position.

I have tried exporting 5 different version of the flash - so that for the about.html page i have script on the first frame that tells the movie to

gotoAndPlay("about");

and so on for each page...but then i'll have to do this for each sub page aswell and it seems really messy way of doing it. is there a way of doing this kind of thing in the html code so that i can just export the navigation.swf once and then in the html on each page tell the flash which frame to go to?

is there an easier way?
am i barking up the wrong tree?
how would u guys script the flash to work on an html site?

any help much appreciated - the simpler the better as I'm no scripting genius.

Loading SWF Files In An HTML Site
So here it goes...

I have my project, built with Studio MX 2004, with a nav bar in HTML. I want to load my main content, SWF's, in a middle window of the page. How can I call up each seperate SWF in this middle window without having to re-build the site completely in Flash?? I read about Target and empty MC but I'm not sure if this is the path I should take. Attached is the site layout and you can clearly see were I want to load up the SWF's (the light grey area)

ok, i am doing my friends website, and i am tryint o link up the graphics in the diff frames so its like a semi border but it just isnt working. so i want to make a flash site for him, and i know how to do everything i need exept one thing. you know how u can make an embeded frame in an html window, well i want to do the same in the flash file. so it wil be a flash page, with an embeded html page that loads the html files when u click the menu buttons. and what commands would i put to the buttons to load the pages into the embeded frame?? some one please help, thank you.

Flash Navigation For HTML Site

Right now I have a website with Flash navigation in one frame... and the html content in the other. The flash navigation stays and only the html content changes when navigating the website. If I wanted the entire page to change, so I did not have to use frames, how could I tell the navigation what frame label to jump to when the page reloads?

Hey I'm trying to create a page where I have flash on the top portion of my page and another webpage (my forum on www.proboards.com) on the bottom portion of the page.

I know you cannot have an html page embedded in your flash movie, but I was curious if anyone knows of a clever way to have both things together on one page.

Load Random .swf In HTML Site
I have a graphic space within an HTML site that I have created several .swf movies. What I would like to do is have about 5-6 movies play in random sequence with a 1 minute interaval between each movie.

I would also like them to start in random order so that each refresh would bring up a random movie.

I have looked at some other posts, but I am brand new at flash and could use some very basic direction.

when i try to publish it for html and then put that up on my site, it is not working. is there more to it then the publish setting?

Flash Header In HTML Site
I have an html site and I have a header at the top with a little flash animation of the logo. poblem is, when the user clicks on a new page, the header reloads and the flash animation starts all over again, and again and again...you get the idea..it looks silly.

How can i make the flash load only once even though the header reloads each time the user goes to a new page?

How To Publish My Swf/html Files To Site?

I've got my video file from Final Cut Pro, converted it into a FLV file, imported it into flash prof 8, with my various settings it's only 128k as a swf, was 4MB as a QT file...now what are the BEST settings for publishing on the web and how do I upload these files using DW 8 to the web site? I've got the html, swf and skin swf files. I know how to use DW 8 for web publishing, but can't seem to get this video to appear on the web site. Would appreciate the BEST settings advice as well.
