A while ago I went on a flash course where one of the things we learned was how to convert flash files into screen savers. I’ve since looked it up in the help files and other resources and still can’t find anything. PLEASE HELP – mail me a tutorial or just point me in the right direction so that I don’t need to go and buy any of those special software packages.

i forgot where i read it but someone told me that http://www.screentime.com/ have programs that help you make your flash swf files into screensavers, but i checked it and there is a one week period afterwhich the screensaver wont work... is there any other programs that will help you make a screensaver that wont expire?

Flash Video + Screen Savers
Hi,
As flash is being widly adopted for showing long form media, why hasn't adobe added a feature to disable the screen saver if a video file is being played? I would have thought this should be automatic, there is no need for a screen saver if a video is being played, especially in FullScreen mode.
Maybe there is an ActionScript option to do this, but I can't find one.

I have been given the task to design some custom screen savers for my work, but have not ever dealt with them. I believe I remember something with flash that will allow for export etc.. but I am completely new to this... is there a directory that I can drop the files in or modify? Any suggestions or links is much appreciated..

Anyone know of a good free program that can convert flash files into screensavers. I found a couple that cost or once created write in the corner something like "created with...." which I dont want the program to do.
Then best program with the best options I could find was a program by Jungle Metal called Flash Screen Saver Creator, but it makes an annoying little box on the screen saver and its only an evaluation version for 15 days!

How can I convert flash files into screen savers?
I know there are the odd files on the Internet that allow it but there's a massive chunk of infomation on the bottom corner of the screen saver which is unnesssersery and ugly.
Please help or give me a suggestion of a program that won't add tons of info on the bottom of my screen saver.

Alright - I've been using for the longest time screen savers that require Flash to run correctly. And up until a couple of weeks ago - they were running fine. But with this last Flash update - they're all suddenly saying either they can't find the Macromedia Flash or the file flash.ocx. And now they won't run at all. Can anyone out there tell me what to do to fix this? Is it even a fixable problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Create Screen Savers On The Fly BRAINSTORMING
I have a request from a client. Need to know if I should bother looking into this further. Here's the request:
On a CD, have an application where the user can select the items they want in a screensaver and then install that screensaver.
For instance. The screen saver would be a slide show of pictures with transitions. The user could select from 50 pictures which ones they would like in the screensaver. Thats just one sceneario........maybe they choose colors or transitions.
Is this something that Flash Studioo Pro would be used for?

Full Screen With Flash 5 (JavaScript Required?)

I'd like to remove all of the Windows and browser functions (including taskbar, scrollbar, and so on), for a web site designed entirely with Flash that I've been chipping away at. I will eventually want to do this for games as well. It didn't seem like I could use just ActionScript to do this, so after searching the forums here, I came across www.moock.org and found that JavaScript was used to control this sort of thing. I haven't worked with JavaScript and have a couple of basic questions.
I'm using index.html as the first page the user receives when logging into my site, index.swf is embedded into it. I don't know of any way that I can automatically turn this into a full screen page without launching another window. So my ActionScript in frame 1 of index.swf is a getURL command set to the _self window. This is what I put into the URL box:

The script seems fine for the most part, probably just my implementation that sucks.
I'm guessing that I replace winurl with http://marigoldscafe.com/title.html, and winname with Marigolds Cafe (the name of the site). I don't know what I should put in place of winfeatures, because it seems to me like it had all been taken care of in the ActionScript in the first frame of index.swf.
From my very limited programming experience with C, I gathered that the getURL that I entered into the first frame of my index.swf was calling a function called launchwin that I defined in index.html. The launchwin function checks for compatibility with Java (I don't see why this would be necessary, my target audience has Flash 5 and I'm assuming that they have relatively modern computers/browsers if not cutting or bleeding edge). The script then opens the url that I specify in a full screen window with no Windows or browser chrome.
Am I even barking up the right tree here? Is the code in the right place? Is it the right code? Will there be compatibility problems with NetScape? (I thought I had left those behind when I started designing Flash sites!) Are there easier ways to go about doing this - I'm a newbie who likes figuring out things with ActionScript but so far I'm not fond of trying to work with what seems like such a simple process with ActionScript and JavaScript. I can understand the effort if it involves passing things to and from a server because there are so many different server scripting methods around, but this should be basic user interface stuff.

hi! guys, i'm creating a projector (.exe) and i want it to run in a full screen mode for which i'm using fscommand("fullscreen", "true"); and yeah its working great...but the problem i'm really getting annoyed with is, after starting the projector and before it gets to the fullscreen it first displays a window, pauses for a sec and then gets to the fullscreen.
Is there anyway not to display the window before it gets to the fullscreen or can we make it something like the fullscreen applications that are developed in vc++ and stuff, like before it gets to the fullscreen the monitor goes off for a while and then starts with the application in a fullscreen mode or takes some time after starting the application and then displays in fullscreen mode.......any help will be greatly appreciated......thanx a lot in advance!

hi.....i'm doing a presentation, in which there r 4 buttonz and a target movice clip....the first three buttonz r associated to different movies....pressing on each button loadz the associated movie load in to the target movie clip.......and i want some help with the 4th button.
clicking on the 4th button the movie which is playing in the target movie clip at that moment(it could be any movie....mov1....mov2...or mov3) should play in the full screen mode..so plz help me scripting the fourth button....and remember its a presentation(projector .exe format.)

Actionscript Pro Required: Syntax Help Required For Button To Initiate Easing
Hi guys I was wondering if any of you actionscript daddio’s could give me 2 minutes of your time and help me write the appropriate syntax to make the below example work on a button release rather than on the MC mouse down state that it currently uses.

In case you haven't read my intro topic. i am working on an online retail website. It is relatively old and only displays 1 picture of the shoe. I have looked around other websites and some appear to have a flash script, that enables the user to click on the picture and make a grayish box appear in the screen. This small box has thumbnails of the images which can be clicked to be enlarged and also the ability to zoom in a fair amount and move around the picture. Below are some screen shots i have found. Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated

In Macromedia Flash 8, I have imported some symbols from another person's .fla file into a film im making, and since using some of them in it, whenever i play the film, i get this error message:

However, the film then plays as normal.
I think what has happened is that the symbols I imported have a newer feature, that is not accepted by Flash Player 7.
How can I remove these features, or get Flash Player to accept them?

I've been trying to edit a .swf document to change the logo from a website navigation bar but not having any luck. The file can be found at http://steevo.bravehost.com/navbar.swf. I'm trying to swap the current green/yellow logos to this and would like to retain the animation if possible. Is there a simple method of doing this?

Full Screen Flash Projector Reverts To Windowed When Exiting Screen Saver
I've created a flash projector that displays a companies product catalog on a 50" touch screen plasma display.
It looks great and plays great if I launch the projector and force it to full screen.
However, since this is a plasma, screen burn in is a major issue to contend with.
I've set the Windows screensaver to activate after one minute of inactivity.
The problem is that when the screensaver is exited by a touch, the flash projector that was running in full screen mode is now back in windowed mode so CTRL-F has to be hit to force it to full screen again.
This isn't good.
So, I guess my question is two-fold:
Is it possible to programatically force the projector to full screen mode so that no user intervention is required? (fscommand works on the first launch, but when the screensaver kicks in, all bets are off.)
And/Or
How would I go about creating a timer to activate an internal screensaver and insert it into the actionscript for the XML gallery?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Help Required With Flash For Pdf File
I wish to place my flash 6 swf into a pdf using Adobe Indesign.
The problem I have is that the a.s. used in the file only works when saved as a v6 file but the pdf requires me to use a v5 swf.
The a.s. is:
onEnterFrame = function () { FLUID._y = (_root._ymouse/1)+0;};
It basically makes an instance of a blue box (fluid) follow the cursor in a vertical manner as the user moves the cursor. See fla attached.
Could anyone either change my a.s. in the file attached so that it still works in a v5 file. I have attached an fla file.

Flash Form Help Required.....
Hi,
I have followed a tutorial type thing in the Flash MX 2004 Bible to create a form. I would obviously have to customize some settings for my Server, but I am having problems with an error that I can't spot.
Once this is fixed I can then look at where I add my own server settings etc.
Would someone be able to take a look and see where I've gone wrong ?

I am the commercial Director of an internet services business. We are looking to offer a functionality in our system which our IT team have chosen Flash to deliver.
The challenge we have is that our IT team have no experience in developing in Flash and the progress is not as fast as we would like.
Therefore, I am considering outsourcing the development but have no idea how to go about finding a Flash developer.
Hence my post on this board as you lot must all be (or know) the experts.
We are based in the UK but I don't see how this effects any deal we could do to have some flash development done for us.

Flash Clarifications Required
1). How can we increase/decrease font size in swf using script. and embeding fonts.
2). while loading swf file with loaders. here iam using loadMoiveNum() for calling the next swf file. while doing like this where ever u open the site the swf will be in temproray folder. i need that the swf file will not go to temproray folder how to do this..
3). in mx how can we attach the MP3 file with out importing in source fla. nor even a swf file directly mp3 file will be call.
4). i watch lots of flash templates there i observed if we select one menu option the previous diplayed content will be gone and second will come how it was done. did u understand this check the flash templates any one. ex:if we select home button and later selecting the contact button the home will be moved and contact was apperead.like selecting them ramdomly which one was appearing that will be movied and the selected one will be appeared.

I'm planning to develop a Computer Based Training (CBT) material in Flash , so need the Flash Documentation provided by Macromedia. Help Required Regarding Adobe Flash 10
I've recently reformatted my PC and as a result I have to redownload all plug-in's etc for my internet browsers. I'm currently running:
Operating system: Windows XP Home (Service Pack 3)
Internet browsers: IE 7 / Firefox 3.0.3
I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 9 for IE 7 last week, and all was fine until yesterday when any online video media just kept hanging (Ie, YouTube videos or BBC iPlayer etc)
I've just tried downloading Adobe Flash Player 10 via IE 7, but when I deselect the Google Toolbar option (Optional) and click "Accept & Install", it just rediverts me back to the same page in loops. When trying with Firefox 3.0.3, I get the same page minus the Google Toolbar option, and a file does download - Although, when I try and install the Flash player I just get an error message telling me that the file is corrupt:
