Help With Flash Popup
I am creating a website for a business owner who wants a popup window in the flash site displaying the current weather. When he sent me the link to the site that has the information, it came up as html. Any ideas as to how to put this into the flash site or even to make a popup window?

I have a simple thumbnail gallery in flash.
When a user clicks a thumbnail, I want a popup to appear. I got this far... now for my problem.
Without closing the window that has popped up, if you click another thumbnail, ANOTHER window pops up so I decided to keep the name of the windows the same to prevent this.
Now... when you click on the thumbnails, everything loads in just the one window without popping up a new window everytime you click a thumbnail but... the popup window stays minimized or "behind the main window".....

PopUp Window Help - Toggle Control Between Popup And Stage?
How do you toggle control between a popup window and the main timeline?
I have a button that opens up a pop up window. The popup window is going to contain some text instructions. I would like to have the text instructions visible and allow the user to control a movie clip on the stage. Unfortunately, right now once the popup window appears, the user can no longer control the movie clip on the stage until they close the popup. I'm using MX 2004.
Here is the code I have on my button - this creates the popup window (I got this from some other postings):

PopUp Window Gets Blocked By Popup Blockers

Actionscript 2.0
I have text on the flash website that is being called from an external .txt file. The problem i'm having is that any links called from that .txt file is blocked by popup blockers upon clicking on them.
I have another popup window in the flash itself from on of the navigation buttons, and that one does not get blocked... but the ones in the .txt files do.
However with the design and the content of the flash, I really need that link to be in the .txt file.
Not really sure how i should go about resolving this.

Firefox Saying Popup Block : But Its Not Popup
I've made simple flash document and added invisible hotspot to link to a website and put following code

when link is clicked firefox display message Popup blocked. I've seen many other site in which firefox don't display any popup message when we click in link how its possible? i've visited and clicked cnet.com flash ad which opens in new tab without any message. i want to make like that.
Next is my flash is not looping in firefox but looping in IE7. I'm using Flash MX 2004.
any suggestion.

Create Java Pop Up From Flash Index Site To Standalone Flash Popup
Want bad help to create a javapop up link from index.htm flash movie with a enter button that leads to the other .swf that is a popup window with another .swf. How do I do that.
One more thing is there a real good downloadable on how to make "news" scrolls in flash the ones I have seen did not please me.
And is there a way to connect that "news" feed scroller to a text dokument for easier updates instead of having to redo the thing in the .fla file

Flash 5 Pdf Popup
Hello,
does anyone know if it is at all possible to have a pdf pop-up in a new movie from a flash5 movie?? The code i have is simple:
getURL ("ds_963.pdf", "_blank");
and works fine when testing from my HD. But when put on the server.. it asks if the user would like to download or open the file. Should the user then chose "open". A page with thousands of lines of rubbish appears!!
What is going on??

Hi,
I am using PHP to mail all inpu text boxes from a subscription form to my email.
When you click the submit button it finds the php file, opens it in a new window and display "thank you" in a new page. Because i told the PHP to echo"Thank You". Everything works fine but i would prefer the PHP file to do what it is supposed to do in the background and no new window should open, instead a flash popup window should appear.. Is that possible?

Flash & PHP & Popup Help
Im trying to get the variable from whatever the user typed in on a input text in flash, and passing it to a php which needs to be open on a popup.
So right now I've tried using loadVars with send and sendAndLoad. Also tried using loadVariableNum. If I use any of this function it works but after I open the window I somehow loose my variable, its no being passed to the php. Im opening the window using:
getURL("javascript:var x=window.open('myphp.php','title','width=700,heigh t=700');");
Hopefully someone knows a way to get this to work. Thanks in advance.

Hi!
I have a big problem with popups in flash. I have done a flashmovie that will be used in a local network. It will not be at the internet.
The thing is that it works fine at my computer and others computer, both in firefox and explorer. But at my clients computers it donīt work at all (They use IE 6)
The popups will not appear. If I do a popup just in a htmlfile it works fine at my clients, the popup appear.
The problem is when I do the link in flash.In the flashfile there is a button that goes to a htmlpage-popupwindow.
(Use getURL and have the javascript in the htmlfile.)
I donīt understand! Probably my client have stoped javascript that runs from a flashfile.
Is it possible to open a popupwindow from flash without javascript?
Or do it in an another way??

Shevlin's Popup From Flash 5
I be trying to use Shevlin's smart clip to open a new window from flash and when i test it (and i am publishing first), it keeps displaying the directory containing the swf or html file i try to link to.
1. Can you test on a local machine or do you have to test online?
2. In the 'URL' variable, can you simply enter the swf if it is in the local directory?

Javascript Popup From Within Flash
ok this is the deal, i have this online portfolio that im tryin to get together, i have a bunch of thumbnails that i want the user to be able to click on to view the larger image, or to view the site that corresponds to the thumb(javascript popup window). i really need somthin thats goin to to be stabel across mac/pc/ie/netscape, so i dont look like a fool during the portfolio show in a couple weeks. i might mention that im loading/unloading different swf's ontop of an 'all the time' swf on level0, all the others are loading on level2, above level1 which has the soundtrack.

PopUp Menus-Flash 5
I am struggling with the pull-down or pull out menus but think I am just about there. My problem, I think, is knowing how to edit Action Scripts
Here is where I found the action script reference site.

On (Roll Over)
Go to and Stop ("Shown")
End On
I find no End On action script. So I assume I have to type it in, but cannot remember how to make the lines editable.

On my Flash Project I have about 11 links to be opened in new windows. I have put the following code in Flash:

And altered the HTML page with Javascript:
function pop()
window.open...
But...
How can I distinguish in Flash (with Actionscript) and the corresponding HTML page (with Javascript) the opening of the pages? I am using 4 different Javascript functions to do it (pop, newwindow, onClick and openwindow). Currently, with these 4 functions I can only open 4 links, there are still 7 missing :-). Probably I only need one function with variables to do it right... Can anyone help me please?
